Chad Christensen: Idaho Legislator Sees Bigfoot!

Chad has law enforcement and military experience and was also a state legislator for four years. So welcome to the show, Chad.

0:44 It's great to have you on today. Hi, Jeremiah, I give it me Honarly too. I was an Army MP the clerk for a while for a while, and it was also a deeven operation officer and then went to the state Probation and pro and dealt with prolleues, come out of prison and also ran in the futuitive warrant team. So when any. Any of those proli user probationers in the office absconded and got a warrant after you for them, I would, you know, run a team to chase them down and we'd arrest them and put them in jail. And so that part of the job was pretty exhilarating. And and I from there, I went to state welfare fraud investigations and dealt with a lot of you know, a lot of people that have scammed the welfare system. And then yeah, I was elected to the state legislature in twenty eighteen.

1:39 I'd beat a thirty year incumbent and the State Affairs Committee chairman. So it's pretty kind of a big deal. It was kind of state wide news. Hey this new guy that nobody knows about kind of beats this thirty year incumbent. So it was pretty exciting. And I spent four years in office. I'm running again in twenty six. I was in the House for four years then, so I'm again in twenty six. You know, you know, being the legislature was a good experience. You know, I feel like I stood for the people and not the establishment, and for what was you know, for the for freedom and the Constitution. So that was important to me. Chad, we had gotten connected about that. You have an experience that you were wanting to share that happened out out in Idaho to you correct.

2:28 Yeah, I kind of had sit for years, and I've told more and more people after after the fact and friends and you know, my dad. Yeah, so you know, I get into it now if you want me too. And it was back in two thousand and three, and you know, it was the area I hunted quite a bit. You know, friend showed me this area for deer and elk and mostly elk. You know, I go back in there and elk usually and and my first it's called jet Nat Creek area and you go past Palasage Reservoir, which later I've come to know the area is quite you know, there's a custy stories about big foot in that area. And then that I've come to do research, and I didn't I had no idea there was that many stories and accounts that go back in the area around Palisades. So yeah, you'd pass Palasage Reservoir and go into Wyoming and then take it and go and go back west and go back in Idaho, and I would hunt there quite a bit. You know, I've been in there in this certain canyon it's called School Canyon, and I'd go in there, and you always feel just a weird presence. Hard to explain. I just didn't feel right.

3:43 I was a little bit off. But I'd always just go back and hunt. It was a good area and I always get my elk and and be successful. And then I got my first chuck in there, probably in the nineties, and then went back in there and I took my dad and brother one year it too deer hunt. I remember one night we were and we were in camp and I and I had woken up and I heard, you know, I didn't think of anything at the time, but I heard a bipedal heavy walk at our camp and I know, I spoke like a skunk type smell, and I just okay, this is weird. And I didn't think much of it then. And the next day a warden came into our camp and in front of me about driving my jeep on it on that trail I shouldn't have been on. Oh, I didn't know it was.

4:42 He says, what's parked? I said, Okay, I didn't see that, so I attributed that. I told my dad, hey, maybe that ward. Came into our camp last night. I heard somebody walking through it. I don't go to him now, obviously I think it was something else. So if you later, I was hunting elk in that same canyon and my dad was there. He didn't come up with he stayed down in it in the camper, and I went up and hunted in that canyon and I came across to six six by six elk leaving the herd of elk down the canyon. So I shot him and we got down to my dad. Hey, I got I got a bull, and he's going, oh awesome. So I still addressed it, and then I was it was getting late in the day, and I said, well, I'm gonna be just gonna still dressed and.

5:40 Call my friend help me come get it out. Because he had horses. He told me, good help if I got something down, and so I, you know, still dressed. It went back down and I called I got I went out to get some syrus on my cellphone and called him, Hey, I got this out down. You're still on you still help me? He said yeah. So I drove back into town. And we got his and his horses. And had it back up. So we got there back up to that carryon about. It was around midnight, so it was late, and so we had two horses. His horse he was riding on it was a normal saddle, and then we had the other horse, which I rode on most of the way.

6:32 It was it was a pack saddle, so it was very uncomfortable to ride on what I did. So we went kind of a different He knew the area well, and we didn't go ship up the canyon like I did the hunt. We went kind of up a different ridge and knowle to get down to the spot where we dropped down down in the canyon. And so as we got that Noel, we were looking down in the canyon that my elk was in and the horses were started going crazy and my horse butt me off and I got up back up. A guy slipped across the canyon.

7:13 There was a set of eyes and they appeared to be red, and my friends like you see that. I'm like, yeah, He's like, what the heck is that? And well, I don't know, I never know an I want to have red eyes. And we were just nervous and and and then then it went away, and IKE were like, okay, well, let's just go get dealt now, and and he told the horses were still really nervous and agitated, and we went down and down the pass where that those eyes were. So we went up to get my We went up the canyon and the horses and I just spilled like again, like it was someone was off, and I thought I was being washed and just what we're feeling, you know, feeling of didn't feel good. It just felt weird. I got to my elk and I was surprised I hadn't been touched because of that whatever that was. I thought it probably got to my elk, and it was had been touched. Like okay, well that's good. So they got the elk and fours accorded it up and put on the pack horse, and I took I took the antlers off to take them. So he went out with the horses and he's like, well follow.

8:38 Me up that no again, and on the way out where you know, whether we. Saw that or horses went nuts, And I said, okay, well you know, but he was always he was faster than me. So I was by myself in the dark and well at the lantern and a flash I can't wish. I think it was a flashlight. So I have the antlers in my other gear and I was at his side arm and at you know, forty five, and I went walking down the canyon and I got to this point where I was He told me to turn up the know again and ridge.

9:24 And follow that area. And I don't know that, very very little I. Want to do in the dark, but so I decided to go down the canyon. And that area where. I was talking about why I was supposed to turn up right below me had a big set of logs, a downfall, huge trees that I had to go over and get down the canyon. As soon as I started into those logs, a big rock flew by my head and it was I mean, it was a big of rocky. It was probably fifty pounds. And I could tell I've been throwing pretty a good distance. I mean, I couldn't see the whole lot of the dark, but I knew it wasn't a short distance. It wasn't like ten feet it had it been like fifty seventy five feet away or you know, out of my estimation and my eyes froze and what in the world. And I saw about seventy five feet away. You know, I couldn't see, I couldn't make it out real well. But I saw a figure and I saw and I saw his eyes look at me again and then turn away, and and.

10:46 Then I just. So I started moving forward. It came real slow, and looking up there, I was super nervous, and I heard it. Then I heard a scream that I can never explain. The pitch I was. It's that was just a nerving It was high pitched. And if I could low growl into a high pitch, I guess a way to put it. And at that point, I just was busting through the the downfall as fast as I could, and I ran and ran all the way down that canyon to get out of there. And I got to the bottom, and my friend was waging down down there at the moment at the bottom that came with horses, and he was all Me and my friend were always drop with each other and always playing games on each other, and he was waiting there and you know, for me to come around a corner, and he scared me. So I was already scared, obviously, and I'm going for my gun because I didn't know what. But I obviously calmed down and I was okay, it's him. H So that was, you know, a pretty quick story, I guess, but that was the gist of that experience. And I've always we had another friend that the hut are quite a bit and he'd always told us, Hey, I hear the scream up the

12:17 scream up there all the time. I can't tell what it is. It's not it's not any animal I know. And this guy is a quite quite a mountain man, and for him for him to say something like that to me, I was shocked because this guy knows his animals, and he's in the mountains all his life and he's pretty much a true Idaho mountain man. And it tells me that he didn't know what that that noise was that screamed up in there. It just made me even verify even more of it. Okay, this is there's something through this to this. I haven't been that back in that kind of since, So, I mean I might go eventually one day again.

13:06 Wow, Yet. That's some That is a pretty frightening encounter. So just a few questions for you. So it was it was midnight when you went back and got the elk. Correct right, And I would say, well, I got down to that spot where it took a rock at me. I would say it's probably two three in the morning, okay, gotcha, probably two probably two. Yea, so two thirty ish, and that's around the same time. Then you're seeing a figure that's about seventy five yards away. Right, yeah, I would say it no yards, I would say it was probably in the yard is probably fifty.

13:52 Okay, it's about fifty yards, which is about the length of like two tennis courts. That's an ex what that is. So around two thirty in the morning. And then how much of were you just able to see the figure that the sorry, were you just able to see that the silhouette of the figure or how much of it were you able to see? Well, I didn't see much detail when I saw the silhouette a couple of times, but sometimes it kind of faded into a dark background. But yeah, the silhouette, you know, I you know, I knew it was huge with that silhouette, and I definitely looked by a people to me, the way it moved and across that it was it was on the side of it a ridge. It wasn't on a flat It wasn't on flat grounds on the side.

14:44 You know, all the time that we saw the eye that was on the side of the ridge when I was walking down the canyon was on the side of the ridge, and it moved on the side on that steep ridge with ease when it followed me for a little bit. I don't know how far to followed me, but well I saw it. It was on you know, it was walking next to me. It was on that ridge. And it seemed to be a very large bipedal. Yeah, and have mass to it. It was skinny, you know, it was a mass. And so when you say it had mass, were you able to to estimate, like, you know, was it very muscular or lean or was it did it look like it was a certain length acrossed at the chest or anything anything like that.

15:37 Yeah, it seemed broad and and muscular, right, It definitely didn't seem like it was skinny, and very very wide from the shoulder to the shoulder, and very wide when it turned sideways. I can see it was wide that way as well. Take that way. Were you able to get an estimate of how tall. It seemed to be not real. Will, but I would. Just kind of ballpark figuring it and maybe from the rocks and boars and trees around it, you know, I would, I would. I would have said, just guessing eight feet gotcha.

16:28 At any time when you saw it fifty yards away from you and it it was moving, it was walking, did you ever see anything glowing at all or anything that made any any light. No, I don't think anything was glowing. I think it was a reflection. I think when I saw its eyes, it was a reflection from the moon, is what I think it was. Yeah, the first time I saw the eyes across the canyon with my friend, I think the redness coming it was a reflection I believe from the light was there. So I don't I don't think it was glowing. I think it was reflected from you know, the light from the moon.

17:11 Sure were you able to see any of that reflection when you were looking at it when it was starting to move walk away after the rock was thrown at you, Yes. Yeah, yeah, it would. It would look forward, it would turn look at me and and I see the eyes were looking at me, and they would they would they would have a turn again and go to walk forward and to look back again, maybe probably three times. I probably saw it transcend toward to me and saw reflection when it was on the side of the ridge. I see that. I see that reflection of the eyes. What what color did it seem to have for reflection?

17:53 Red? Okay, so it was red at that time as well. When it. Made the move in order to turn its head to look at you, could you tell if it was more of a having to turn its whole body or was it able to just turn its head and look over. No, I think it turned. I think it was kind of both. I think it was its shoulder turned too, and its head would turn a little bit with it. I believe that's how I kind of so more of a more of his body I think turned first, you know, a shoulder turned back and turned towards me. And you know, I believe they had turned some too, sure most of the body. Yeah.

18:43 Was there anything that you noticed that would have made you think that you're dealing with a male or a female bigfoot? No? I could make that out at all. No, gotcha? How did this affect you? After you had this encounter? And then you know, you go back home and you try to go about your life. Did it affect you in any ways right off the bat, Oh, yeah, I. Mean I just I went nuts on researching and before I know, I always kind of you know, I never I never dismissed sasquatropic for the being real. I didn't. I wasn't one of those people that are like, oh, that can't be true, and it's there's no way. I always have an open mind about it, but I didn't know it existed, and I didn't really put my thought into it. So when I after it happened to me, yeah, I became not on researching it and looking at other people's stories and just finding out there every tribe in the world has a name for it. And the encounters people's witness account encounters are just so consistent with some of the things that I came across. The you know, the smell, I thought I miss all the thing out of the canyon, but in my camp I realized, Okay, maybe that was big fit. I came into a camp and the smell is consistent, and the rock throwing and the eyes seemed consistent for a lot of people, and so many behaviors. You know, people don't make up those

20:14 things and it's so consistent, and being law enforcement and witnesses are important, and when the stories are consistent, that's important. You know, people aren't you know, of course there's going to be some people that are fraudule in their stories, and that when those people when a lot of people, most of them are very consistent in their stories. Okay, somethings to this, something's going on, sure, So yeah, since you know, twenty years I just became a nun researching it and so changed me for sure. I became assesssed at times and look in researching it. And you know, doctor Milderham. It's close to where I live, so I would email him and call him and pick his brain a little bit, and I began to respect him. You know, he's and his science. You know, you know things that he's come across, and you particulately things real well, how okay, yeah, you're right mid tussle break, that's it. Absolutely. You know.

21:17 His his explanations were, am I, okay, you know you're right or something to this, and and I believed them. I didn't tell many people the story for a long time, and then I told my friend that night. He knew I was someone's wrong with me, and you know, he kept asking on the way home, what's wrong, and I'm good. I finally told him and he that's when he told me, Okay, our friend, but what I mentioned to you that I heard those noise, heard those screams up in the in the area. He told me, yeah, our land from from work, you know heard I heard these screams up there for years. And he can't he can't put there, you know, a creature to those streams. So I think he believed me because of that when he said that, And then I finally told a friend of mine and we were pretty close during that time. He's a deputy sheriff. I won't use his name, and it finally told him and he and when I did it, he's like, oh, and I could tell something was honest. His demeanor changed and he knew something was he knew something.

22:28 I said. I pushed him, what what are you what? Something's you're thinking about something? And you want to tell me, I think, So I kept bugging him, tell me what you're thinking, and he finally told me. He came across the Sasquatch what he believed to be a sasquatch over and led or Idaho m He told me, you know, me and me and my friend he was and I an a false police officer and him were I mean folders down what they called eight mile of trail up and let or and then coming down this canyon. It was towards you know, he was getting trying to get dark. There still light enough to see well, but the sun was starting to go down. And he came out the corner and he said his friend was ahead of him. So his friend had passed whatever the scene was, and he came.

23:19 He came on his corner and he said this scene was off the trail. So the trail to the right dropped, and he said this scene was standing on the off the side of the trail and his back was to him and it put his arm out to kind of protect itself from the four wheather as he passed, and he said that he was as tall as him on his foot with her and was standing down below the trail. So he thought, okay, the scene is like ten feet tall, and he went past. He went down to the trail head and made it with his friend, and he told his friends for him this laughed at him, and see you're full of it, and and that's why he was so hesitant to tell me. I don't think he told hardly anybody besides me and maybe his parents the story.

24:10 But fact that was pretty cool that, you know, Okay, you know what else is out there that I don't know about that people, you know, friends and family have experienced. And since you know, I, since I told him my story, he eventually told me his. And I think a lot of people's reports are people's encounters don't get reported, you know. I know that the BFRO has you know, a map of how many reportings are across the nation, and I'm like, okay, it's probably only like ten percent of the real reports, if it's that much. You know, looking back to when I was a kid, and it's not far from the area where I had my encounter. You know, we we would go, you know, on time reunions to it's called the Kelly Canon area, which is, like I said, not too far from policys we had my encounter. And I remember because my cousins and we'd pick cuckleberries and there and there's you know, you know, in a canopy of trees.

25:10 I remember one time I looked back way back at then a canopy of trees and I saw the same thing red eyes, and I would hit my cousin, hey, what's that back there? And I one time I heard it. I saw it swaying back and forth, and so did she and we were like this and we point out to her cousins, hey, look back there, what is that? And you know, some of the cousins didn't care, so we did, me and my female cousins of mine. So after after my experience in the mounds and then looking back to that, I'm like, okay, that is possibly a sasquatch. And I after my research, and you know, I came to realize, Okay, a lot of them are pretty curious about kids and there kids being playful, and they'd come down and watch kids being just sili and playful, and I was in our to them, I believe. So it made sense to me, okay, that that's why that was there.

26:04 Watching those chat a few a few questions for you. You know, you're coming forward with your you know, your full name and exactly who you are, and that you were a state legislator. And not only that, it's not that you're retired, it's that you're also trying to get back into this position as well. Why come forward now with what you experience regarding Bigfoot in these areas. You know, I'd have been afraid of truth, I guess I've I've always been one the truth important to me, and I don't want to and I know people, you know, some people might get a little of this and they chance a no job and you know they probab already to do the ones that don't like me. But you know, it's just my personality. I guess I don't. I'm not really afraid of things like that. I'm just the kind of cursions just always you know, speaks the truth. You know, when I was not this, I was pretty hated by this you know what we call the establishment, for speaking the truth about what happened in the legislature. You know, I would I would out him for hate. There's this corruption there and there, and I would point it out.

27:15 So I was I was a big target for that reason for speaking truth and and not and letting people know the truth and what was going on. So I've always I've always been one never been afraid to shy away from the truth. And you know, I can't say definitive definitively that what I saw was a bigfoot. But all signs point to that direction. Of course, obviously, if I I'm calling you and explaining the story to you and and my friend that I had experience and let order, I mean that was Crows the bill to him, and he was so hesitant to tell me that. He was like, he was trying to offer it to me. This is what happened to me, and please believe me. You know, he was so hesitant to tell me, and I'm like, Okay, this is this is true.

28:03 He's not lying to me. You know. It's just I've always been wondered to seek truth and I don't care what people think. It's just too I am. I guess during your time as a legislator so far, did the topic of bigfoot ever come up in conversation or did people know that, hey, Chad's the bigfoot guy, you know, anything like that. No, I never I never prought it up to anybody, am I the little legislators or in that realm of politics, And I mean I wouldn't try away from it. I guess I never came up a topic. And you know the times I made there, you know, you know you know there's one I trust and I would tell that story too, and I just never came up. So I guess I didn't think about killing anybody. That.

28:56 Have you heard of any other government officials that have also had big foot encounters? Anything that you've heard through your channels over the years. Oh yeah, I mean I've done a lot of research and her stories from you know, police officers, and I mean not not in our area, but yeah, I've heard lots of individuals that were Dublin officials that were you know, forest rangers and police officers and you know Dutch princes and their how they were told to be quiet. You know, if you don't be quiet, you lose your job. Well, you know I did show went up in North Idaho a story that came across the different research and it was a state employee that was out so doing some kind of surveying I think, out in forests for a long for like a month at a time, and they came across a family and then you know this, this this guy was streating with his job. He if you don't be quiet, you know, you don't lose your job.

29:53 So I know, I know that would happen to an Idol State employee. I don't. I think it was up Orth or maybe Central Idaho. You know, I came across some stories of guides over in that same area around Palisades Sasha's chronicles. I came across the story of it a guide over in the area where I was, and he had like three encounters. Michael it cal He's a lot more prevalent than I thought in the area. What do you think it would take for the topic of bigfoot to be widely accepted or disclosed? You know, I don't. I believe that there's been after you know, after by twenty years of research, I do believe there's been bodies fund and and you know, a good amount of evidence that's been found. I think the government just covers it up. So I don't know if anything that we've, any evidence that we find, can be really put on the mainstream science and media. I don't think it's I think the government cuts up so much and threatens people that it's not a possibility to be to get to that point. In my opinion.

31:06 I've heard stories like that as well, some of them that can never really be put out there into the public. But there there are some some definite stories out there of the government showing up in different areas, like maybe even the Navajo reservation and showing up with black SUVs and and you know, taking whatever it was off in their vehicle. Right. Oh, and I didn't. He was telling the story about as well as the story of my friends over and led. Or he went back to that area. I could. I could a few days later because he was curious. I would have been scared to go back, I guess. But he he got curious and went back to that trail and he started up the trail a little ways. Also enything was taped off, and he you know, the trail was was closed, and he came across the ranger that was really close started questioning the rangers, and the ranger started saying, hey, you know, my closing trail because of a cougar has been having problems, and he's like, he kept questioning him, and he didn't believe him, so he kept questioning the ranger. The ranger got a little stinty with him, and so, yeah, that did happen with him.

32:21 My friend to mention that, So I think they're that ranger knew something was going on there with what he saw so did he. So that's that's why he was so he questioned that ranger so much. It's a tricky subject because, and I've never heard this from just from what I've heard, I think a lot of those guys, you know, if they do start talking on record, I mean, they're going to lose their job. Actually, I can say I've talked to one guy out in the Pacific Northwest and yeah, he won't come on there, but he's sad stuff happened out there. And let's just say the the PNW, uh this is pretty wild. Well, it's it's getting close, man. So I would feel that over the last let's say, maybe ten years or less, we've really started to experience a disclosure in the UFO or UAP phenomenon field. And it's slow, it's really really slow.

33:24 Do you think that will ever happen on the big Foot side of things or are we probably a while away from that. Yes, it's a good question, you know, I know, you know, in my research, I came across the Army manual and in that same area that you just mentioned, the city northwest of Roshington. Well, they in that manual they were talking about you know, you know, if you come across the Sasquatch, this is what you do. So and that was a real army manual for for training. But so I think it's kind of been in and out. I think if we're gonna print something like that in an army manual, I think that there was it can be kind of gradually canal into that in that realm of being more open and honest about discussion, you know, and what was to me, you know, doctor Meldrim was very open about it, and I appreciated about him. He was just you know, we were kind of like that, you know, you know, I liked that way that we were just we cared about truth and that's what he cared about.

34:36 And to see all these professors treat them like crab really really bugged me. You know. That was you know, they made fun of him, and his colleagues wouldn't talk to him and made fun of him. And that's so I guess my point with Dad is just getting past that childishness and and having an open mind and and stop stuffing science a way like they did. You know, you know, Molder had good science behind what he what he knew to be true, and stop dismissing that. I guess it's going to be the key to the key to that theme. You know, Oh absolutely. I mean doctor Meldrum was a fantastic individual. I there's going to be there's quite a void to fill, and hopefully, for sure we all realize that, you know, we need to step up in that regard, and I believe some people already are. Would you be able to talk to individuals that might be listening to this particular episode that are let's say, in higher maybe government positions or et cetera, that might have knowledge about you know, Bigfoot that they're not coming forward with and why is it?

35:53 Wow? Did you hear that? I didn't. I just had some really fun interference on my side. Uh wow, oh boy. Okay, So could you take a minute to maybe discuss about why it would be important for those individuals as well to come forward with what they know about this subject? Yeah, I think it's important for you know one. You know, the reason I mentioned before is just you know, the truth. I think the truth is important. I think people deserve to know what's out there. I think there's beings out there that you know, I think some are very docile and friendly and some are some are aggressive. You know, I think they're a lot like like humans.

36:44 I think there are. Different personalities involved. I think it's important for people to be aware of if possible dangers in the wild. And I think you know, these these these government workers or officials, you know, they what to their to the public. I believe in my opinion that you know, to tell the truth. You know there there are people to go missing in the mountains every year, and I think I think some some can attribute to to these creatures. I think they have it have to kidnap people and taking people, and I think that's and I think, like I said, I don't think all about that. I think a very small portion of these beings are aggressive. What there are some that are, and I think people deserve to be aware of what's around them and and the possibilities of you know, being out there in the forest and then their surroundings.

37:45 I think, you know, these government officials are what to the public. To speak up and tell what's going on. I agree one hundred percent. 38:54 Yeah, you know, I had those three different experiences I wanted to share. You know. I know my experience as a kid was brief, but asually I had experience in the mountains. I look back to my you know that came to my head and yeah, I remember as a child. But yeah, I did share all the experiences that I came to share. Yeah. Best of luck to in the future as you try to get a I guess another be another four years in the state legislator of Idaho. Those two year terms two years, yeah, get yeah, hope. Yeah, I'm going for the Senate at this time and before I was in the House, so I'm going to get for the Senate this next in twenty six so yeah, I'll get a two year term if I get in again.

39:45 And yep. So I appreciate that. Fantastic And just asking is there anything that you would want people to follow, you know, regarding yourself or anything like that.
