Fisherman Watched Bigfoot for 15 Minutes Near Mt. Jefferson

For 15 minutes, a fisherman watched a tall, reddish-brown figure gathering cattails from an Oregon mountain lake. Then the wind shifted—and it looked directly at him.

In Bigfoot Society Episode 1219, Ryan shares his encounter near Mt. Jefferson, describing the creature’s movements, its unusual behavior, and the detail he returned to measure the following day. He also recounts a nighttime tent collapse near Marion Lake and a rain-soaked hike from Bagby Hot Springs where calls grew louder behind him before another sound came from ahead.

Other callers share a snowy Washington road crossing witnessed by four relatives, unexplained screams near Naselle, and reports from East Tennessee and Oregon’s Umpqua region.

show notes. Thank you. Hey, Courtney, this is Jeremiah. Feel

14
00:00:45.909 --> 00:00:47.909
free to share what you experienced out there in New York.

15
00:00:48.509 --> 00:00:51.189
Yeah, we were traveling up there for a car show.

16
00:00:51.210 --> 00:00:54.439
We have a business I'm trying to build up, and

17
00:00:54.460 --> 00:00:59.219
we'll head up there with the car. Just left Pine Bush,

18
00:00:59.380 --> 00:01:06.280
headed toward Albany to go over to Great Barrington of Massachusetts.

19
00:01:06.299 --> 00:01:09.700
And we were going through this wooded area and heard

20
00:01:09.750 --> 00:01:10.879
some trees breaking, and.

21
00:01:13.890 --> 00:01:16.250
I'll email you the coordinates because I have to look

22
00:01:16.329 --> 00:01:20.030
it back up. It's been back in 2019 that it happened.

23
00:01:21.250 --> 00:01:26.040
And we heard some trees breaking. We stopped. And we

24
00:01:26.079 --> 00:01:31.900
heard like something tear within our car. And we looked

25
00:01:31.939 --> 00:01:36.640
back and all the straps were broken off of our car.

26
00:01:36.659 --> 00:01:41.239
And we heard a growling yell in a way. And

27
00:01:41.579 --> 00:01:46.730
we immediately pulled over and looked at everything. And I

28
00:01:46.870 --> 00:01:48.989
contacted a couple of people up there to see if

29
00:01:49.129 --> 00:01:52.250
it was normal. And I had to email you the

30
00:01:52.269 --> 00:01:54.930
guy's name that I got a hold of with his story.

31
00:01:55.870 --> 00:01:59.569
And so to get a hold of that. But I

32
00:02:00.109 --> 00:02:02.930
have more information through that. And I'll email all that

33
00:02:03.189 --> 00:02:07.489
to you. But yeah, it's... It was not a growl

34
00:02:07.510 --> 00:02:09.169
because I'm Southern Appalachia.

35
00:02:09.229 --> 00:02:10.289
I'm East Tennessee.

36
00:02:10.330 --> 00:02:14.389
That's what we, you know, if you go outside in

37
00:02:14.909 --> 00:02:17.729
the dark out here and you hear your name, no,

38
00:02:17.750 --> 00:02:19.949
you didn't. You know, that's what I always grew up

39
00:02:19.990 --> 00:02:24.330
and heard. And that growl was not something that I

40
00:02:24.550 --> 00:02:31.319
ever really experienced before. And so it was odd, but

41
00:02:31.419 --> 00:02:35.610
it was also like everything gone quiet. at the same moment.

42
00:02:35.710 --> 00:02:38.569
And it's like, what, what happened, you know? And so

43
00:02:38.669 --> 00:02:41.650
it was not the straight line kind of tear either

44
00:02:41.729 --> 00:02:44.810
on the straps. It was, you know, something tore it.

45
00:02:45.719 --> 00:02:50.860
And so it was just, um, but yeah, it was wild.

46
00:02:50.919 --> 00:02:55.740
We were in that like Adirondack wood of New York,

47
00:02:55.819 --> 00:02:59.460
I guess it was probably, yeah, up through there. And

48
00:02:59.500 --> 00:03:03.210
it was, Everything went quiet. We didn't know what we

49
00:03:03.349 --> 00:03:07.650
were encountering. You know, it was, yeah, let's leave kind

50
00:03:07.669 --> 00:03:12.169
of thing. But at the same time, yes, I'm reading

51
00:03:12.210 --> 00:03:17.069
the comments as well. It did shake my ribs. You

52
00:03:17.090 --> 00:03:21.669
could feel it inside of how it wasn't too close,

53
00:03:21.710 --> 00:03:25.030
but it's... I don't get scared easily, but with animals

54
00:03:25.379 --> 00:03:26.400
like that, it is.

55
00:03:28.250 --> 00:03:30.689
Intense of how terrifying that was.

56
00:03:31.530 --> 00:03:32.409
But, yeah.

57
00:03:33.770 --> 00:03:38.430
Have you heard anything else that comes even close to that?

58
00:03:40.949 --> 00:03:44.490
Not recently of that close, but you could definitely hear

59
00:03:44.550 --> 00:03:48.889
things off in the distance. That kind of sounds close

60
00:03:48.930 --> 00:03:52.030
to it. It kind of sounds like a bear with

61
00:03:52.069 --> 00:03:54.389
a mountain lion kind of growl.

62
00:03:55.289 --> 00:03:59.750
Okay, okay. So like a big roar with some kind

63
00:03:59.789 --> 00:04:00.789
of scream at the end?

64
00:04:01.009 --> 00:04:01.250
Yes.

65
00:04:01.909 --> 00:04:05.330
Yeah, I heard that in Oregon. It freaked me out.

66
00:04:05.729 --> 00:04:07.590
I heard that in the woods, something like that in

67
00:04:07.610 --> 00:04:09.949
the woods of Oregon, and it freaked me out, dude.

68
00:04:10.370 --> 00:04:10.669
Oh, yeah.

69
00:04:10.689 --> 00:04:13.349
I'll tell you what. It was like time to get

70
00:04:13.430 --> 00:04:13.770
out of there.

71
00:04:14.330 --> 00:04:16.189
Oh, yeah.

72
00:04:16.209 --> 00:04:18.500
And it was, I want to say about an hour

73
00:04:18.540 --> 00:04:21.480
and a half south of Albany, going through the back

74
00:04:21.519 --> 00:04:25.899
roads up there. And so it was... it's, uh, you know,

75
00:04:25.980 --> 00:04:27.540
at first I thought it was a mountain lion, but

76
00:04:27.579 --> 00:04:30.750
then it had that bear kind of growl and the

77
00:04:30.790 --> 00:04:34.250
scream of a witch. So it's like, yep, no, we're

78
00:04:34.290 --> 00:04:36.149
not dealing with, we're not going to be caught outside

79
00:04:36.170 --> 00:04:41.350
with us, but let's just fix the extra straps. And, um,

80
00:04:42.209 --> 00:04:43.529
we need to go, you know?

81
00:04:43.670 --> 00:04:43.930
Wow.

82
00:04:46.829 --> 00:04:48.930
Well, thank you for, for sharing that. I will be

83
00:04:48.970 --> 00:04:53.600
definitely looking through my email and, uh, Hopefully continuing that

84
00:04:53.639 --> 00:04:54.620
conversation with you.

85
00:04:55.060 --> 00:04:55.680
Oh, yeah.

86
00:04:56.259 --> 00:04:59.699
I'll have to go through my research and give you

87
00:04:59.810 --> 00:05:03.129
all the research I have from that in the area

88
00:05:03.269 --> 00:05:04.889
and the stories that I found from locals.

89
00:05:06.670 --> 00:05:06.970
Awesome.

90
00:05:07.269 --> 00:05:07.910
Thank you, Courtney.

91
00:05:08.250 --> 00:05:08.930
Thank you, big man.

92
00:05:09.850 --> 00:05:10.610
Have a good one. All right.

93
00:05:10.629 --> 00:05:13.509
That was a great first call. We had Courtney sharing

94
00:05:13.550 --> 00:05:17.740
about Southern New York. Hi Marlene, this is Jeremiah. Hi,

95
00:05:17.899 --> 00:05:20.439
it sounds like you had a really interesting thing happen

96
00:05:20.459 --> 00:05:22.579
back in 1978. Would you mind sharing?

97
00:05:22.930 --> 00:05:28.129
Yeah, me and my husband and my brother and sister-in-law

98
00:05:28.189 --> 00:05:32.430
were all going sledding way up in the logging roads

99
00:05:32.790 --> 00:05:36.629
in Nassau. That's along Highway 4, down by the coast,

100
00:05:36.910 --> 00:05:41.370
the bottom of the state. And we were coming back

101
00:05:41.430 --> 00:05:45.939
down off the mountain, going home and All of a sudden,

102
00:05:46.000 --> 00:05:48.620
it was snowing real heavy, and it was about a

103
00:05:48.670 --> 00:05:51.509
foot of snow on the ground. We had chains on

104
00:05:51.589 --> 00:05:53.850
all four tires so we could, you know, make it

105
00:05:53.910 --> 00:05:57.670
up there to go sledding. And when we were driving down,

106
00:05:57.750 --> 00:06:00.189
and all of a sudden, a Bigfoot just walked across

107
00:06:00.230 --> 00:06:03.350
the road. Just like you see the Patterson thing, it

108
00:06:03.389 --> 00:06:06.629
turned its head, turned around and saw us coming. I

109
00:06:06.649 --> 00:06:08.720
think we caught it off guard because you know how

110
00:06:08.759 --> 00:06:11.019
when you drive in the snow with chains and it's

111
00:06:11.120 --> 00:06:11.819
real quiet?

112
00:06:11.839 --> 00:06:12.839
Mm-hmm.

113
00:06:13.149 --> 00:06:15.670
I don't think he expected us to be way up

114
00:06:15.730 --> 00:06:18.910
there at that time because of the snow or something.

115
00:06:19.829 --> 00:06:22.920
But he walked right across the road and it was

116
00:06:22.980 --> 00:06:26.639
real steep there and my husband was driving and he said,

117
00:06:26.920 --> 00:06:29.740
should we stop or what should we do? No, no, no,

118
00:06:29.759 --> 00:06:33.930
just keep going. We didn't know what that thing could

119
00:06:33.939 --> 00:06:37.519
do to us, you know. And so by the time

120
00:06:37.560 --> 00:06:40.259
we got down, we couldn't really stop because it was

121
00:06:40.300 --> 00:06:42.620
so steep and there was so much snow on the road.

122
00:06:43.139 --> 00:06:45.319
But we looked in the woods there in that area

123
00:06:45.379 --> 00:06:48.180
where he crossed and we didn't see him inside the

124
00:06:48.220 --> 00:06:51.000
woods there. He had took off so fast, I guess.

125
00:06:52.420 --> 00:06:53.680
That's incredible.

126
00:06:54.060 --> 00:06:57.480
Yeah, many people have seen Bigfoot in that same area.

127
00:06:57.500 --> 00:06:58.540
And so, real quick.

128
00:07:04.500 --> 00:07:05.620
One guy said that.

129
00:07:05.540 --> 00:07:09.759
He was out early in the morning getting ready to

130
00:07:09.800 --> 00:07:12.540
go hunting and he was sitting in the car waiting

131
00:07:12.560 --> 00:07:15.819
for daylight and drinking some coffee and all of a

132
00:07:15.860 --> 00:07:21.100
sudden it was still dark and something jumped up on

133
00:07:21.120 --> 00:07:24.740
the back bumper of the car. It jumped up and

134
00:07:24.800 --> 00:07:26.980
down and the front tires came off the ground.

135
00:07:27.939 --> 00:07:28.220
Really?

136
00:07:28.240 --> 00:07:28.379
Really.

137
00:07:28.649 --> 00:07:33.379
Yeah, and he said he went downtown to the local

138
00:07:33.420 --> 00:07:35.399
pub that night, and he had a bunch of his

139
00:07:35.459 --> 00:07:38.120
buddies get on the back of the car and try

140
00:07:38.139 --> 00:07:40.600
to get the tires to come up, you know, and

141
00:07:40.620 --> 00:07:41.709
he couldn't do it.

142
00:07:43.379 --> 00:07:43.920
Wow.

143
00:07:44.019 --> 00:07:46.100
So he said it had to have been something like that.

144
00:07:47.399 --> 00:07:49.860
But he got so scared, he said he just took off.

145
00:07:50.569 --> 00:07:53.490
I'm sure he was out of there. I don't blame him.

146
00:07:53.509 --> 00:07:54.350
Yeah, he said he.

147
00:07:54.290 --> 00:07:56.850
Should have turned, flipped the car around and seen with

148
00:07:56.870 --> 00:07:58.009
the lights what it was.

149
00:07:58.129 --> 00:07:58.370
Right.

150
00:07:58.629 --> 00:08:00.339
He said that was an afterthought.

151
00:08:01.420 --> 00:08:06.379
Marlene, about your specific sighting, do you remember any details

152
00:08:06.420 --> 00:08:08.379
that you saw that kind of took you off guard?

153
00:08:10.160 --> 00:08:12.610
No, just that it was, you know, just tall, dark

154
00:08:12.689 --> 00:08:15.110
figure walking, you know, upright.

155
00:08:16.449 --> 00:08:16.569
And.

156
00:08:17.480 --> 00:08:22.920
It was just dark hair all over, the basic Bigfoot sighting.

157
00:08:22.980 --> 00:08:23.420
I guess.

158
00:08:24.560 --> 00:08:24.800
Sure.

159
00:08:25.300 --> 00:08:29.810
Do you remember anything about the color of the hair?

160
00:08:30.350 --> 00:08:34.049
It was just brown, but it was heavy snow.

161
00:08:34.809 --> 00:08:35.950
It was really heavy.

162
00:08:35.710 --> 00:08:40.629
Snow that day, snowing. And my daughter told me that

163
00:08:40.710 --> 00:08:43.129
she saw Bigfoot one time, but she was too scared

164
00:08:43.169 --> 00:08:45.659
to tell me when she was little.

165
00:08:45.679 --> 00:08:46.529
Oh, wow.

166
00:08:47.059 --> 00:08:49.639
We were going camping, and we were driving up the

167
00:08:49.700 --> 00:08:52.220
logging roads, and she said it was crouched down behind,

168
00:08:52.279 --> 00:08:54.379
and she didn't tell me until just a couple years ago.

169
00:08:54.940 --> 00:08:57.750
It was crouched down behind a stump that was alongside

170
00:08:57.779 --> 00:09:01.649
the road. And she said it was looking like, you know,

171
00:09:01.690 --> 00:09:04.950
hiding behind that stump. And she didn't want to go camping.

172
00:09:04.990 --> 00:09:07.450
She just kept telling me and telling me she wanted

173
00:09:07.470 --> 00:09:09.090
to go home. She wanted to go home because she

174
00:09:09.110 --> 00:09:13.870
was scared to sleep up there after she saw that. Wow.

175
00:09:13.889 --> 00:09:14.570
Interesting.

176
00:09:15.350 --> 00:09:17.889
Did you say that was a similar, similar to the

177
00:09:18.129 --> 00:09:20.070
area where you had your original sighting?

178
00:09:20.529 --> 00:09:23.669
In the same area in my niece and her friends

179
00:09:23.690 --> 00:09:27.080
were always horseback riding when they were younger and that,

180
00:09:27.159 --> 00:09:30.080
and then same area also. And she said they saw

181
00:09:30.200 --> 00:09:31.600
one one day when they were out in the woods

182
00:09:31.659 --> 00:09:36.980
riding horses. So I think there's something living right there.

183
00:09:38.179 --> 00:09:41.299
I would say so. There's that just a ton of

184
00:09:41.340 --> 00:09:45.690
sightings over the years. Um, Would you put what you

185
00:09:45.769 --> 00:09:48.940
saw that day, would you say it was more ape-like

186
00:09:49.159 --> 00:09:52.879
or human-like or something that's not even either camp?

187
00:09:55.210 --> 00:09:58.799
It was just, it was tall, you know, walked kind

188
00:09:58.940 --> 00:10:03.360
of like human-like, but it was just covered in hair.

189
00:10:03.460 --> 00:10:04.450
I don't know.

190
00:10:04.620 --> 00:10:07.950
It was a little bit of distance off, maybe a

191
00:10:08.490 --> 00:10:10.629
couple hundred feet away from where we were.

192
00:10:10.649 --> 00:10:11.409
Yeah.

193
00:10:12.460 --> 00:10:15.279
So it was a little ways. But it started walking

194
00:10:15.340 --> 00:10:17.720
across the road, and it just turned, you know, and

195
00:10:17.759 --> 00:10:19.779
looked at us, kind of stopped for a second, and

196
00:10:19.820 --> 00:10:26.490
then just hightailed it out of there. So many people

197
00:10:27.029 --> 00:10:28.669
see it there in that same area.

198
00:10:29.149 --> 00:10:32.389
That's exactly what it sounds like. What county is this again?

199
00:10:32.649 --> 00:10:37.169
Waukegan County. It's right on the edge. My house was

200
00:10:37.809 --> 00:10:42.090
right there, too, not too far. probably a couple miles

201
00:10:42.190 --> 00:10:45.629
as the crow flies, my house was. And you know,

202
00:10:45.669 --> 00:10:49.039
when we were kids, we used to always be looking

203
00:10:49.080 --> 00:10:51.360
up in the woods. We always played in the woods

204
00:10:51.379 --> 00:10:54.500
when we were kids there. And one day when we

205
00:10:54.519 --> 00:10:57.279
were in the backyard, Mom was hanging clothes on the

206
00:10:57.320 --> 00:10:59.320
line and something threw a rock past her.

207
00:11:01.090 --> 00:11:02.450
And she hollered at us.

208
00:11:02.389 --> 00:11:04.570
Kids to go look out in the bushes and see

209
00:11:04.610 --> 00:11:06.509
who was out there throwing rocks at her. And it

210
00:11:06.529 --> 00:11:10.610
was a big rock. And Then I found out years

211
00:11:10.690 --> 00:11:13.169
later that they throw rocks at people to kind of

212
00:11:13.710 --> 00:11:14.929
startle them or whatever.

213
00:11:15.629 --> 00:11:16.149
Absolutely.

214
00:11:16.470 --> 00:11:16.850
Wow.

215
00:11:16.870 --> 00:11:18.389
But that was in the same area also.

216
00:11:20.340 --> 00:11:23.340
I'm sure you've heard many accounts over the years. Marlene,

217
00:11:23.700 --> 00:11:27.639
have they all been non-aggressive? Or have you heard any

218
00:11:27.679 --> 00:11:32.080
accounts where there's actually been an aggressive interaction from the Sasquatch? No,

219
00:11:32.100 --> 00:11:32.279
I haven't.

220
00:11:33.480 --> 00:11:36.649
I don't know, but I heard a story about a

221
00:11:36.730 --> 00:11:40.929
friend's brother who had kind of a nervous breakdown, that

222
00:11:40.980 --> 00:11:44.710
he had shot one there in the area. And that

223
00:11:45.049 --> 00:11:48.169
four or five other ones, he got scared and he

224
00:11:48.230 --> 00:11:51.210
said he shot it. He was out hunting and he

225
00:11:51.269 --> 00:11:53.980
saw it and he shot it and then he freaked

226
00:11:54.080 --> 00:11:57.960
out because he shot it. And I guess he said

227
00:11:57.980 --> 00:12:00.559
four or five other ones came and picked the thing up.

228
00:12:00.940 --> 00:12:03.940
They didn't kill it or anything. But he said four

229
00:12:03.960 --> 00:12:06.080
or five other ones and one of them was kind

230
00:12:06.120 --> 00:12:08.679
of gray haired, like an older one.

231
00:12:09.200 --> 00:12:09.600
Sure.

232
00:12:09.779 --> 00:12:11.740
And they picked it up and took it off into

233
00:12:11.779 --> 00:12:15.710
the woods. And I guess the guy had an actual

234
00:12:15.730 --> 00:12:19.049
nervous breakdown and he was hospitalized over it. He was

235
00:12:19.090 --> 00:12:22.240
symptomatic to him. I don't know if you've ever heard

236
00:12:22.250 --> 00:12:23.139
about that happening.

237
00:12:23.779 --> 00:12:27.340
Have you ever heard of the siege at Honabi in Honabi, Oklahoma?

238
00:12:28.820 --> 00:12:29.460
No, I haven't.

239
00:12:30.480 --> 00:12:34.039
Okay, so just double checking. So it's interesting. What you

240
00:12:34.100 --> 00:12:36.700
said in that account is very similar to what happened

241
00:12:36.740 --> 00:12:40.960
in Oklahoma where some others came and then carried off

242
00:12:41.019 --> 00:12:43.200
the one that had been shot. Yeah, yeah. A similar

243
00:12:43.240 --> 00:12:47.460
situation also happened in southeast Oklahoma. It's very, very interesting.

244
00:12:48.299 --> 00:12:49.539
Thank you for sharing that, Marlene.

245
00:12:50.100 --> 00:12:55.080
Yeah, yeah. And there's been a lot of accounts there

246
00:12:55.860 --> 00:12:59.360
by my friends, too. They think they witnessed them or

247
00:12:59.480 --> 00:13:03.919
whatever in that same area. It's between Longview, Washington and

248
00:13:03.960 --> 00:13:04.419
the coast.

249
00:13:04.480 --> 00:13:04.679
Yep.

250
00:13:05.500 --> 00:13:05.929
Highway 4.

251
00:13:05.919 --> 00:13:10.230
Have you ever heard any accounts of people communicating with

252
00:13:10.259 --> 00:13:10.870
them in any way?

253
00:13:11.789 --> 00:13:13.470
No, I haven't. Okay.

254
00:13:14.090 --> 00:13:19.029
Yeah, nothing in that area. But, you know, Nacelle, Washington

255
00:13:19.230 --> 00:13:22.490
used to have an Air Force base there. And it's

256
00:13:22.529 --> 00:13:26.320
up on top of the hill behind the school. And

257
00:13:26.519 --> 00:13:32.240
it's no longer there. They tore it down. But that area,

258
00:13:33.519 --> 00:13:36.440
the Air Force base was put there after World War.

259
00:13:36.320 --> 00:13:36.740
II in 1951.

260
00:13:36.720 --> 00:13:43.419
It was built there. And I didn't know until recently,

261
00:13:43.480 --> 00:13:49.070
I was looking in Wikipedia, but the Air Force base

262
00:13:49.110 --> 00:13:49.750
there was.

263
00:13:49.649 --> 00:13:52.750
Kind of guarding the coastline.

264
00:13:53.990 --> 00:13:58.149
And, you know, after the war, watching so the Japanese

265
00:13:58.169 --> 00:14:02.190
didn't come over or whatever. And they had an Operation

266
00:14:02.250 --> 00:14:11.149
Bigfoot there. The mission was called Operation Bigfoot. And that's

267
00:14:11.210 --> 00:14:17.059
the same area where, you know, that I lived.

268
00:14:17.139 --> 00:14:17.360
Really?

269
00:14:17.379 --> 00:14:19.299
It wasn't, it's a crow fly, you know, and there's

270
00:14:19.340 --> 00:14:22.379
lots of timber in between there and where my house is.

271
00:14:22.759 --> 00:14:26.870
It's full of woods.

272
00:14:27.590 --> 00:14:30.690
That's extremely interesting. That kind of thing makes you wonder, right?

273
00:14:31.250 --> 00:14:36.529
Yeah. Yeah, so look it up in Wikipedia. There's more

274
00:14:36.570 --> 00:14:40.940
information about it. up there, but I took my boyfriend

275
00:14:40.960 --> 00:14:44.000
camping one time up there, because they have, my family

276
00:14:44.039 --> 00:14:47.590
has like three lakes up there, they're called the Workalilla Lakes,

277
00:14:48.490 --> 00:14:52.450
and they're man-made lakes, and they have a boys' school,

278
00:14:52.610 --> 00:14:56.769
the boys' prison is located in that location now, but

279
00:14:56.850 --> 00:14:59.470
down the hill from where the main base was up

280
00:14:59.529 --> 00:15:03.240
on top of the ridge, but the boys go up

281
00:15:03.299 --> 00:15:05.700
there and they fix up the camp and stuff, so

282
00:15:05.720 --> 00:15:09.970
it's like free camping up there, and I took my

283
00:15:10.009 --> 00:15:12.330
boyfriend up there to spend the night one night, and

284
00:15:13.220 --> 00:15:17.299
I had recently had a broken leg, and so he

285
00:15:17.360 --> 00:15:19.940
set me all up, and I was walking with crutches

286
00:15:20.000 --> 00:15:24.120
and stuff, and he set me up in the tent,

287
00:15:25.159 --> 00:15:27.210
and after I got all set up and on the

288
00:15:27.230 --> 00:15:34.250
air mattress and stuff, something started screaming. It was just howling,

289
00:15:34.309 --> 00:15:39.529
just Constant. And he said, he's like, what is that?

290
00:15:40.190 --> 00:15:42.769
I said, I don't know. And dad used to say

291
00:15:42.789 --> 00:15:44.870
it was a hooping crane. So my dad was a

292
00:15:44.889 --> 00:15:48.720
timber faller up in that area. But he said, I

293
00:15:48.759 --> 00:15:51.039
don't think there's no hooping cranes up here. I didn't

294
00:15:51.100 --> 00:15:55.500
see anything in the water. And it would not stop.

295
00:15:55.600 --> 00:15:58.480
It was just screaming and screaming. And it scared me.

296
00:15:59.299 --> 00:16:02.549
And we couldn't see anything. But it was like right

297
00:16:02.649 --> 00:16:05.149
after dark and it just kept going on and on.

298
00:16:05.220 --> 00:16:06.879
And I got scared and I said, I don't want

299
00:16:06.899 --> 00:16:08.860
to get out of here. And he said, yeah, I

300
00:16:08.919 --> 00:16:11.940
don't think whatever it is doesn't want us here. And

301
00:16:11.980 --> 00:16:15.179
it was so odd because I live in Carson City, Nevada.

302
00:16:15.279 --> 00:16:17.419
I was living in Carson City, Nevada.

303
00:16:17.110 --> 00:16:17.610
At the time.

304
00:16:17.679 --> 00:16:20.309
And we drove all through the night just to get home.

305
00:16:20.409 --> 00:16:23.129
And in the morning when we got home, we turned

306
00:16:23.169 --> 00:16:27.200
the TV on and National Geographic was on. And somebody

307
00:16:27.259 --> 00:16:31.019
who was camping in Washington had recorded the sounds of

308
00:16:31.039 --> 00:16:34.809
the screaming, which they thought was the Bigfoot. And it

309
00:16:34.830 --> 00:16:37.649
was the same sound that we heard. And it was

310
00:16:37.730 --> 00:16:39.710
just right when we walked in the door. And he said,

311
00:16:39.750 --> 00:16:40.970
I think we were meant to hear that.

312
00:16:40.990 --> 00:16:41.059
Wow.

313
00:16:41.210 --> 00:16:43.629
That's interesting.

314
00:16:43.649 --> 00:16:45.909
I think whatever was up there did not want us

315
00:16:46.009 --> 00:16:47.220
there and wouldn't shut up.

316
00:16:48.879 --> 00:16:52.860
Marlene, you've got some really incredible stories. Thank you for

317
00:16:52.879 --> 00:16:53.539
sharing them.

318
00:16:53.559 --> 00:16:55.240
Lifetime stuff.

319
00:16:56.450 --> 00:17:01.730
If you ever have any others that you remember or that,

320
00:17:02.029 --> 00:17:05.289
you know, you hear of anyone, my email is right

321
00:17:05.329 --> 00:17:07.450
there on the screen so you can reach out if

322
00:17:07.490 --> 00:17:11.029
you'd like. Bigfootsociety at gmail.com.

323
00:17:12.150 --> 00:17:14.109
Yeah, there's a lot of stories out of there.

324
00:17:14.130 --> 00:17:15.750
I bet.

325
00:17:15.829 --> 00:17:18.490
So, you know, and you hear more all the time

326
00:17:18.509 --> 00:17:21.119
whenever you talk to anyone about it. You hear more stuff.

327
00:17:22.049 --> 00:17:25.029
And I just remembered another little one. I guess a

328
00:17:25.069 --> 00:17:27.730
game warden was camping somewhere up there in the mountains

329
00:17:27.769 --> 00:17:30.839
with his family one time, and he wandered off to

330
00:17:30.880 --> 00:17:35.200
go urinate. And when he was out urinating, he saw

331
00:17:35.220 --> 00:17:41.900
a Bigfoot in the woods watching the campground, campsite. And

332
00:17:41.980 --> 00:17:44.119
he took his family and got the heck out of there.

333
00:17:46.059 --> 00:17:47.349
So you hear all kinds of stuff.

334
00:17:47.930 --> 00:17:48.529
Oh, my goodness.

335
00:17:48.670 --> 00:17:51.329
I can't imagine having to do that. And then you

336
00:17:51.390 --> 00:17:54.940
see and you're like, yeah, that's it. I'm never going

337
00:17:54.960 --> 00:17:59.059
in the woods again. Marlene, thank you so much for

338
00:17:59.619 --> 00:18:00.500
hanging out for a bit.

339
00:18:01.059 --> 00:18:04.539
Yeah, sure. No problem. I'm really interested in all that

340
00:18:04.579 --> 00:18:07.069
kind of stuff, too. I'm always looking at stuff and

341
00:18:07.089 --> 00:18:09.089
hearing stories and watching on YouTube.

342
00:18:10.180 --> 00:18:12.289
Yes ma'am well i hope to talk to you again

343
00:18:12.490 --> 00:18:14.089
someday thank you for coming.

344
00:18:13.890 --> 00:18:19.569
Up on stage you're good all right have a good

345
00:18:19.650 --> 00:18:21.410
one love and light.

346
00:18:21.369 --> 00:18:24.609
All right awesome awesome uh stories from marlene over there

347
00:18:24.630 --> 00:18:28.930
in southwest washington hey jimbo this is uh jeremiah what's

348
00:18:28.950 --> 00:18:29.809
going on brother.

349
00:18:30.150 --> 00:18:32.490
Hey how's it going i live here in roseburg um

350
00:18:32.650 --> 00:18:35.509
oregon you have a lot of a lot of photos

351
00:18:35.650 --> 00:18:39.269
um A lot of crazy little funky stuff. Photos I've

352
00:18:39.390 --> 00:18:44.230
encountered over the years. My photos usually come here from

353
00:18:44.269 --> 00:18:47.849
the Glide area. And I got some from the Unqua

354
00:18:47.890 --> 00:18:51.430
National Forest. And I have a few photos right here

355
00:18:51.450 --> 00:18:56.730
in our backyard in the Callahan Mountains. I have photos. Personally,

356
00:18:56.750 --> 00:18:59.849
I haven't seen nothing. I've seen some other stuff, but

357
00:18:59.869 --> 00:19:02.950
I haven't seen Bigfoot. But I've seen photos. I have footprints,

358
00:19:02.990 --> 00:19:06.029
you know. stuff I've taken photos of, a lot of stuff.

359
00:19:06.230 --> 00:19:09.380
I just never came out openly spoken with anybody, too,

360
00:19:09.420 --> 00:19:13.299
for the particular reason that we live in a small town. And,

361
00:19:13.339 --> 00:19:15.380
you know, I don't want, we own a business out here.

362
00:19:15.559 --> 00:19:17.069
My family does. I don't want to think everybody thinks

363
00:19:17.089 --> 00:19:21.369
we're lunatics. So I just kind of kept private about it. But,

364
00:19:22.349 --> 00:19:23.710
you know, I was like, that's how you think. I

365
00:19:23.750 --> 00:19:25.130
ran into it right now. I was like, you know what,

366
00:19:25.150 --> 00:19:26.569
I'll come out and share it. But I have a

367
00:19:26.589 --> 00:19:29.769
lot of photos. My brothers have stories. We've seen a

368
00:19:29.769 --> 00:19:31.230
lot of stuff out here, and it's a small town.

369
00:19:31.250 --> 00:19:33.549
No one really comes out and speaks about it, but

370
00:19:33.589 --> 00:19:35.700
everybody knows there's stuff around here going on.

371
00:19:36.339 --> 00:19:39.119
Jimbo, I'll tell you what. I have talked to more

372
00:19:39.160 --> 00:19:44.119
than a few people from Roseburg already for my podcast.

373
00:19:44.539 --> 00:19:47.200
There's a few people definitely in your town, more than

374
00:19:47.240 --> 00:19:49.869
a few, that have had interactions and encounters with you.

375
00:19:50.539 --> 00:19:53.619
that area is definitely very interesting especially over by umqua

376
00:19:54.180 --> 00:19:57.119
so you have photos where it's uh you said footprints

377
00:19:57.380 --> 00:20:01.119
and uh like what other uh things are in the

378
00:20:01.160 --> 00:20:02.200
photos that you've.

379
00:20:02.059 --> 00:20:05.539
Seen like uh what would you say like big old

380
00:20:05.559 --> 00:20:09.140
sticks like i would say like like the uh I

381
00:20:09.180 --> 00:20:11.140
don't know. You see like structures in the middle of nowhere.

382
00:20:11.480 --> 00:20:14.140
So I would go on a hike, go on the razor,

383
00:20:14.180 --> 00:20:16.619
jump off and hike in a particular area where, you know,

384
00:20:16.660 --> 00:20:18.819
it's very remote. And these logs that are put up

385
00:20:18.960 --> 00:20:20.880
on the walls or whatever you want to call them,

386
00:20:20.900 --> 00:20:21.799
made structures.

387
00:20:22.420 --> 00:20:24.940
Yeah. They're like five, 400 pound logs.

388
00:20:25.000 --> 00:20:27.380
I mean, just the sheer fact someone lifting them is

389
00:20:27.420 --> 00:20:30.519
kind of insane. And I just by looking, I'm I

390
00:20:30.539 --> 00:20:32.140
don't think it's possible.

391
00:20:32.299 --> 00:20:33.160
I don't think no one's out.

392
00:20:33.079 --> 00:20:35.660
There building random structures in the middle of nowhere.

393
00:20:35.880 --> 00:20:36.609
Got photos of that.

394
00:20:37.819 --> 00:20:40.279
Just random stuff my brother said he has a story

395
00:20:40.299 --> 00:20:43.339
where they want to talk and he falls and his

396
00:20:43.579 --> 00:20:47.599
sister oh his mother-in-law saw a baby one running through

397
00:20:47.619 --> 00:20:50.680
the woods oh wow ran him out they all freaked

398
00:20:50.759 --> 00:20:54.140
out like during the evening he has a story about

399
00:20:54.160 --> 00:20:55.819
that he can tell you photos i have.

400
00:20:55.809 --> 00:20:57.029
A bunch of stuff you know i'll just.

401
00:20:56.940 --> 00:20:59.630
Love yeah yeah please uh please reach out my my

402
00:20:59.750 --> 00:21:02.990
email is right up there it's bigfootsocietygmail.com and then i

403
00:21:03.009 --> 00:21:06.500
would love to Anyone who's had an encounter like that,

404
00:21:06.519 --> 00:21:09.339
I would love to talk to them. That's a very

405
00:21:09.460 --> 00:21:13.480
unique one. I don't think I've ever talked to anyone

406
00:21:13.619 --> 00:21:17.759
who has seen a baby like that, maybe one person

407
00:21:17.819 --> 00:21:19.700
over five years. That's very rare.

408
00:21:20.269 --> 00:21:21.789
Yeah, it was small ones. It freaked them out.

409
00:21:22.470 --> 00:21:26.670
Wow. Yeah, send an email for sure, Jimbo.

410
00:21:26.910 --> 00:21:28.589
Yeah. Okay, brother.

411
00:21:28.650 --> 00:21:29.349
You guys have a good one.

412
00:21:29.369 --> 00:21:30.170
Have a good Sunday.

413
00:21:30.190 --> 00:21:30.519
Thank you, sir.

414
00:21:30.630 --> 00:21:30.869
You guys.

415
00:21:31.299 --> 00:21:34.380
Hey, Tammy, this is Jeremiah. What's going on today, Tammy?

416
00:21:35.299 --> 00:21:37.380
Well, I was just wanting to tell about a friend

417
00:21:37.420 --> 00:21:39.740
that I know is very trustworthy.

418
00:21:40.680 --> 00:21:42.160
He owns some property.

419
00:21:41.759 --> 00:21:46.670
In East Tennessee near Buck. It's Buck Mountain property. I'm

420
00:21:46.730 --> 00:21:52.950
sorry my child's yelling in the background. He has had

421
00:21:52.990 --> 00:21:54.190
two sightings on there.

422
00:21:54.210 --> 00:21:55.109
He goes up there.

423
00:21:56.269 --> 00:21:57.569
Let me move somewhere else.

424
00:21:58.250 --> 00:21:58.549
Sure.

425
00:21:59.930 --> 00:22:02.650
He goes up there periodically to check on his land

426
00:22:02.750 --> 00:22:07.859
because sometimes people go up there and camp out and stuff.

427
00:22:07.940 --> 00:22:14.559
It's really rugged there. A lot of undergrowth. I've been

428
00:22:14.619 --> 00:22:16.660
up through there before, and I'd say the undergrowth in

429
00:22:16.720 --> 00:22:20.900
places is probably about 12 foot high, and there's tunnels

430
00:22:21.059 --> 00:22:25.829
through that undergrowth, and the tunnels are probably... They're really

431
00:22:25.869 --> 00:22:28.269
big tunnels. I mean, I could walk through those tunnels.

432
00:22:28.329 --> 00:22:31.549
But anyway, he has seen two up there. I've got

433
00:22:31.589 --> 00:22:37.440
a picture of one. It's walking up a hill. I

434
00:22:38.299 --> 00:22:40.400
don't know. It's weird. He took it in the evening.

435
00:22:40.940 --> 00:22:45.119
He took it through his truck window, and it is drizzling.

436
00:22:45.740 --> 00:22:48.460
It's not one of those blobs or anything like that,

437
00:22:48.549 --> 00:22:52.650
but it kind of looks like an x-ray. But you

438
00:22:52.670 --> 00:22:56.430
can see eye sockets. You can see where it's got teeth.

439
00:22:56.569 --> 00:23:00.569
It's carrying something around its waist. To me, it looks

440
00:23:00.609 --> 00:23:05.319
like a pig or a dog, but you can see

441
00:23:05.579 --> 00:23:10.859
its muscle outlines, its thighs. You can see its shoulder outlines,

442
00:23:10.920 --> 00:23:14.279
which are big, looks kind of like a weightlifter. But

443
00:23:15.200 --> 00:23:18.200
it is up there, and I do believe him. He

444
00:23:18.220 --> 00:23:20.049
has invited us to come up there if we wanted

445
00:23:20.069 --> 00:23:22.619
to camp out and all that stuff. but I'm too

446
00:23:22.660 --> 00:23:24.589
scared to even try to do that.

447
00:23:26.109 --> 00:23:30.630
I may know a guy. If you had sent me

448
00:23:30.650 --> 00:23:34.450
an email, I would love to continue a conversation with you.

449
00:23:34.490 --> 00:23:36.589
I may know a guy who would take him up

450
00:23:36.670 --> 00:23:40.400
on that, an area researcher in East Tennessee. He's a

451
00:23:40.420 --> 00:23:43.559
good guy. But you said, so you have that photo?

452
00:23:44.119 --> 00:23:45.529
Yeah, I sure do.

453
00:23:45.559 --> 00:23:45.710
Oh, wow.

454
00:23:47.099 --> 00:23:49.859
I can send it to you. I'm not really sure

455
00:23:49.900 --> 00:23:51.859
how to. I don't know if you've been, I just

456
00:23:51.920 --> 00:23:56.420
now tuned into your little podcast, but I don't, you

457
00:23:56.460 --> 00:23:58.079
don't put them up here on the screen or anything,

458
00:23:58.119 --> 00:23:58.420
do you?

459
00:23:58.920 --> 00:23:59.420
No, no.

460
00:23:59.779 --> 00:24:01.799
So I, and we haven't even talked about this, but

461
00:24:01.880 --> 00:24:05.099
I would assume that this would be an off record photo,

462
00:24:05.160 --> 00:24:08.900
probably not to share with anyone. Okay. Well, I mean,

463
00:24:08.980 --> 00:24:11.079
that's what I'm asking. Is that, is that something where

464
00:24:11.140 --> 00:24:13.109
you wouldn't want me to share with other people or?

465
00:24:13.900 --> 00:24:15.329
I don't care if you do, and I'm sure he

466
00:24:15.369 --> 00:24:18.250
wouldn't care just as long as nobody would come on

467
00:24:18.289 --> 00:24:21.190
his property because those people in Buck Mountain don't care

468
00:24:21.230 --> 00:24:22.950
to shoot you.

469
00:24:23.029 --> 00:24:26.210
That's what I hear. So, yeah, if you want to

470
00:24:26.230 --> 00:24:30.670
send me that photo to bigfootsociety at gmail.com, I would

471
00:24:30.690 --> 00:24:31.829
love to take a look at that.

472
00:24:32.430 --> 00:24:33.069
Okay, dear.

473
00:24:33.450 --> 00:24:33.890
Thank you.

474
00:24:34.349 --> 00:24:34.549
Great.

475
00:24:34.569 --> 00:24:35.150
Thank you, Tammy.

476
00:24:35.589 --> 00:24:35.869
Bye-bye.

477
00:24:40.289 --> 00:24:45.490
Wow, that is very, very interesting. I've heard of a

478
00:24:45.519 --> 00:24:48.279
few things happening in that Buck Mountain area of Tennessee.

479
00:24:48.299 --> 00:24:52.119
It's right on the border, I believe, of North Carolina. Hey, Ryan,

480
00:24:52.160 --> 00:24:54.079
this is Jeremiah. It looks like you had a really

481
00:24:54.140 --> 00:24:58.480
interesting thing happen out there by Mount Jefferson. Feel free

482
00:24:58.500 --> 00:24:58.940
and share.

483
00:25:00.220 --> 00:25:02.539
Yeah, so I was camping with my father up there

484
00:25:02.579 --> 00:25:05.940
at Oali Lake, and it was just after the snow

485
00:25:05.960 --> 00:25:07.480
finally melted off up there.

486
00:25:07.500 --> 00:25:08.799
Because it's up at like 5,500 feet elevation.

487
00:25:11.119 --> 00:25:15.079
And so we're up there for a camp trip fishing.

488
00:25:15.880 --> 00:25:20.299
So I went for a little walk and there's an

489
00:25:20.380 --> 00:25:23.960
old road up there. It's the old Brightbush Road that

490
00:25:23.980 --> 00:25:29.059
would go back along the border of the tribal lands

491
00:25:29.079 --> 00:25:34.069
and the Mount Jeff Wilderness. And then it would loop

492
00:25:34.130 --> 00:25:38.509
around and the Forest Service quit maintaining that road. And

493
00:25:38.549 --> 00:25:40.809
so there's a bunch of little alpine lakes there that,

494
00:25:41.089 --> 00:25:43.170
you know, weren't fished a lot.

495
00:25:43.210 --> 00:25:46.240
So I went back right along that road.

496
00:25:46.299 --> 00:25:48.079
There was a couple of little alpine lakes I was

497
00:25:48.099 --> 00:25:53.079
scouting to do some fishing. And when I went back,

498
00:25:53.180 --> 00:25:55.369
it was about the second lake back on that road.

499
00:25:57.500 --> 00:26:00.480
I saw something, I was like, oh, this is kind

500
00:26:00.500 --> 00:26:04.000
of odd back there. My first thought was like, okay,

501
00:26:04.039 --> 00:26:06.480
what's a very tall man in this kind of plaid

502
00:26:06.519 --> 00:26:08.240
golf suit waiting this late?

503
00:26:08.269 --> 00:26:11.390
Because I was just like, that's just, you know, I'm

504
00:26:11.410 --> 00:26:12.509
looking for fishing.

505
00:26:12.970 --> 00:26:15.809
I would expect to see somebody fly fishing in the lake,

506
00:26:15.829 --> 00:26:16.490
you know, waiting.

507
00:26:16.509 --> 00:26:18.309
I said, that's what I would expect.

508
00:26:18.329 --> 00:26:21.869
And I'm going, okay, this is kind of odd because that's,

509
00:26:23.230 --> 00:26:26.069
head to toe now, and this kind of a conical head, like, okay,

510
00:26:26.089 --> 00:26:29.589
wait a minute, that's not a man. And it was

511
00:26:29.710 --> 00:26:33.849
picking cattails out of the lake, and then I looked

512
00:26:33.890 --> 00:26:37.250
closer as I kind of hid myself behind a tree

513
00:26:37.269 --> 00:26:40.049
and kind of poked my head out, and I got

514
00:26:40.089 --> 00:26:44.230
a really close look, and it was hair head to toe,

515
00:26:45.250 --> 00:26:48.650
and it was actually grabbing cattails and throwing it up

516
00:26:49.430 --> 00:26:52.210
onto the bank repeatedly. And I watched this thing for

517
00:26:52.230 --> 00:26:55.910
about 15 minutes do that as the wind was coming

518
00:26:56.009 --> 00:26:59.130
to my face. So I had that advantage as it

519
00:26:59.910 --> 00:27:04.640
didn't get my scent, fortunately. But then as the wind

520
00:27:04.779 --> 00:27:08.400
shifted and blew my wind back that direction towards it,

521
00:27:09.920 --> 00:27:13.480
it got my scent. And as I was poking my

522
00:27:13.519 --> 00:27:17.940
head out behind this large tree, it locked.

523
00:27:17.779 --> 00:27:18.339
Eyes with me.

524
00:27:19.940 --> 00:27:23.380
And it was not like a scary deal or anything.

525
00:27:23.480 --> 00:27:28.289
I didn't feel threatened. But then it turned around and

526
00:27:28.910 --> 00:27:32.630
got out of the lake, picked up its cattails, walked

527
00:27:32.670 --> 00:27:36.549
about 15 feet up the hill to the top of

528
00:27:36.589 --> 00:27:40.059
the bank, and then turned around, put its hand up

529
00:27:40.160 --> 00:27:42.640
on a tree and kind of ducked under this branch

530
00:27:42.660 --> 00:27:45.279
and and just kind of looked at me for a second,

531
00:27:45.839 --> 00:27:48.519
and then I walked off into the woods, and that

532
00:27:48.579 --> 00:27:52.670
was the end of the sighting. I went back the

533
00:27:52.750 --> 00:27:57.230
next day with this large, like, meter stick, you know,

534
00:27:57.250 --> 00:28:02.230
like those large, it's like a meter stick, you know,

535
00:28:02.490 --> 00:28:05.480
a measuring stick, and I went back to kind of

536
00:28:05.539 --> 00:28:08.839
see about how large that branch was, and I kind of.

537
00:28:11.619 --> 00:28:13.599
Went up there and I'm like five foot eight.

538
00:28:13.640 --> 00:28:16.269
So I'm not that tall, but I reached way up

539
00:28:16.329 --> 00:28:18.269
there and I kind of reached where I thought I would,

540
00:28:18.569 --> 00:28:20.009
you know, where it'd be. And I kind of hit

541
00:28:20.069 --> 00:28:23.109
it and looked down and that thing measured to be

542
00:28:23.130 --> 00:28:28.109
about eight feet tall. So that's the end of the

543
00:28:28.150 --> 00:28:29.650
sighting I had. And the thing was kind of a

544
00:28:30.150 --> 00:28:33.329
more of a reddish color and being that time of

545
00:28:33.390 --> 00:28:37.230
year and the snow kind of melted off. You know,

546
00:28:37.289 --> 00:28:38.910
I saw that thing come out of the lake. It

547
00:28:38.950 --> 00:28:41.490
was kind of really lanky and skinny. Like it was

548
00:28:41.509 --> 00:28:44.410
kind of, you know, malnourished about that time of year.

549
00:28:45.450 --> 00:28:48.579
So, but yeah, that's the end of my sighting.

550
00:28:49.880 --> 00:28:52.880
That is, that's incredible. Thank you for sharing that. I mean,

551
00:28:52.920 --> 00:28:55.259
that's such a long time to have a sighting. You

552
00:28:55.279 --> 00:28:56.539
said about 15 minutes.

553
00:28:57.500 --> 00:28:57.960
Yeah.

554
00:28:57.980 --> 00:29:00.500
I think I was, the only reason why I had

555
00:29:00.539 --> 00:29:04.589
that advantage because the wind was blowing and in my

556
00:29:04.670 --> 00:29:05.890
face and in my direction.

557
00:29:05.970 --> 00:29:08.950
So my scent was blown the other direction. So, right.

558
00:29:10.809 --> 00:29:13.170
Were there any things that you noticed during that time

559
00:29:13.230 --> 00:29:15.799
that were like, wow, this is different than what I've

560
00:29:16.130 --> 00:29:19.160
heard about these things before or anything that really like

561
00:29:19.200 --> 00:29:19.799
took you back?

562
00:29:21.420 --> 00:29:23.279
You know, the only, the only other thing is, is,

563
00:29:23.720 --> 00:29:28.839
is I didn't feel threatened. Um, it was, it was

564
00:29:28.880 --> 00:29:32.680
a calm and peaceful place. There was no grunting. There

565
00:29:32.700 --> 00:29:34.660
was no bluff charging. There was no nothing.

566
00:29:34.680 --> 00:29:38.990
It just as it after it started.

567
00:29:40.349 --> 00:29:42.349
Me and then we locked eyes and we, and it

568
00:29:42.390 --> 00:29:45.230
noticed me and I got up the hill and it

569
00:29:45.250 --> 00:29:47.869
took a second look at me, you know, it just,

570
00:29:47.950 --> 00:29:50.299
it was just kind of wanting, wanting to wander off and,

571
00:29:50.559 --> 00:29:52.630
you know, it was just kind of wanting to get away.

572
00:29:52.650 --> 00:29:52.710
So.

573
00:29:53.690 --> 00:29:54.319
Absolutely.

574
00:29:55.099 --> 00:29:58.809
Did you notice any emotions or, in the face as

575
00:29:58.869 --> 00:30:00.890
you were looking at it for that long?

576
00:30:01.710 --> 00:30:05.250
It was totally emotionless. Really? You know, it was just

577
00:30:05.289 --> 00:30:08.579
kind of like, it didn't feel threatened by me. I

578
00:30:08.619 --> 00:30:09.299
didn't have, you.

579
00:30:09.299 --> 00:30:11.259
Know, I just had fishing gear on me, you know,

580
00:30:11.299 --> 00:30:13.539
and I was, I was wanting to fish, you know,

581
00:30:13.579 --> 00:30:15.559
and it wasn't like hunting season or anything. Cause I,

582
00:30:16.059 --> 00:30:18.599
I think it kind of knew I, I, it was

583
00:30:18.640 --> 00:30:21.750
not a threat. I was not a threat. So kind

584
00:30:21.789 --> 00:30:25.269
of like, you know, I've had experiences just kind of off.

585
00:30:26.359 --> 00:30:29.619
off the Bigfoot thing, but I've had experiences off of

586
00:30:29.660 --> 00:30:33.630
deer season to where I've been able to approach does

587
00:30:33.690 --> 00:30:37.609
and be able to actually touch and pet them, you know,

588
00:30:37.829 --> 00:30:38.990
as I don't have any.

589
00:30:38.890 --> 00:30:40.970
Weapons on me and I'm not a threat to them.

590
00:30:41.630 --> 00:30:43.609
And once I do that, they kind of hop off

591
00:30:43.670 --> 00:30:46.089
and do their thing, you know, so I kind of

592
00:30:46.150 --> 00:30:49.210
feel maybe that's kind of the same thing with them,

593
00:30:49.230 --> 00:30:50.539
you know.

594
00:30:52.400 --> 00:30:57.339
That 15-minute interaction, did you have... Do you have anything

595
00:30:57.539 --> 00:31:01.089
from that day that helps you remember it or is

596
00:31:01.150 --> 00:31:03.759
just your memories that you kept from that day?

597
00:31:04.430 --> 00:31:08.670
It's totally my memories. I mean, it was a clear day.

598
00:31:08.690 --> 00:31:14.250
Like I said, it was mid-July. Like I said, I

599
00:31:14.269 --> 00:31:18.279
remember the snow. We'd gone up like two weeks before,

600
00:31:18.299 --> 00:31:21.380
and there was still two feet of snow on the ground.

601
00:31:22.599 --> 00:31:27.119
So we said, okay, we're not going to camp this weekend.

602
00:31:27.460 --> 00:31:30.720
So we went back, and That's where we went up

603
00:31:30.779 --> 00:31:33.279
to set up camp that weekend because the snow had

604
00:31:33.319 --> 00:31:36.339
finally melted. You know, it was probably, I would say

605
00:31:36.359 --> 00:31:39.910
it was temperature-wise. I remember being still only like in

606
00:31:39.950 --> 00:31:42.289
the mid-50s or so, but it was completely clear.

607
00:31:44.430 --> 00:31:46.089
How old were you again at that time?

608
00:31:47.009 --> 00:31:48.289
I was 24.

609
00:31:48.289 --> 00:31:48.569
Okay.

610
00:31:50.250 --> 00:31:53.250
From what you saw... Did it remind you more of

611
00:31:53.329 --> 00:31:57.289
something that was human, or did it have more ape-like features,

612
00:31:57.569 --> 00:32:00.809
or was it something that could even be anything?

613
00:32:01.230 --> 00:32:04.369
It would seem more like human, but like I said,

614
00:32:04.390 --> 00:32:05.410
with a conical head.

615
00:32:05.430 --> 00:32:10.299
It was head-to-toe hair, and it was kind of more

616
00:32:10.339 --> 00:32:14.980
of a reddish-brown, you know, long, lanky arms.

617
00:32:15.059 --> 00:32:16.619
It was really skinny that time.

618
00:32:16.640 --> 00:32:20.140
And like I said, I think it was really skinny

619
00:32:20.160 --> 00:32:22.799
because it just cut— come out of the winter snow.

620
00:32:23.279 --> 00:32:28.259
So, and like I said, I'm kind of like a.

621
00:32:28.269 --> 00:32:32.769
Survivalist prepper, and I know like for food, cattails, the

622
00:32:32.809 --> 00:32:35.529
roots are food, the socks are food.

623
00:32:35.930 --> 00:32:40.029
You know, and then the tops, you.

624
00:32:39.910 --> 00:32:43.809
Can actually flare those out and actually use those as bedding,

625
00:32:43.910 --> 00:32:47.670
so the whole thing can be used for different things,

626
00:32:47.730 --> 00:32:49.269
and I think it knows it can be.

627
00:32:49.250 --> 00:32:49.970
Used that too, so.

628
00:32:51.130 --> 00:32:51.670
Oh, absolutely.

629
00:32:51.690 --> 00:32:51.849
Yeah.

630
00:32:51.869 --> 00:32:55.930
We used to make pancakes out of, out of cattails

631
00:32:56.289 --> 00:33:00.519
growing up. My father was kind of a similar situation.

632
00:33:02.220 --> 00:33:05.400
When it was taking them, gathering them, did it look, sorry,

633
00:33:05.440 --> 00:33:07.940
did it look more like someone who was gathering them

634
00:33:08.000 --> 00:33:11.440
to use them or just someone who's like getting them

635
00:33:11.519 --> 00:33:12.960
out of there trying to clear a path?

636
00:33:14.220 --> 00:33:16.859
Oh, it was definitely gathering to use them. They would

637
00:33:16.900 --> 00:33:20.500
grab them by the handful and then tossing.

638
00:33:20.099 --> 00:33:23.400
Them up on the bank in a pile. Okay, gotcha.

639
00:33:23.500 --> 00:33:24.500
Definitely for use.

640
00:33:25.160 --> 00:33:28.220
And when it came back out of the lake, it

641
00:33:28.759 --> 00:33:32.240
bent over and grabbed them all, like in both hands,

642
00:33:32.299 --> 00:33:35.980
and then walked up. I mean, it effortlessly walked up

643
00:33:36.029 --> 00:33:40.049
this 15-foot bank with both of them, both hands, so.

644
00:33:41.470 --> 00:33:45.410
Have you ever done any research to see if there

645
00:33:45.430 --> 00:33:47.369
had been other sightings in that same area?

646
00:33:48.230 --> 00:33:51.099
I have looked on the BFRO site, and there has

647
00:33:51.190 --> 00:33:56.140
been lots of sightings in that area.

648
00:33:56.420 --> 00:34:01.380
What I think, honestly, is since that.

649
00:34:02.740 --> 00:34:07.579
Is kind of the crook of Mount Jefferson Wilderness, and

650
00:34:07.619 --> 00:34:09.059
in that area of the wilderness, not a.

651
00:34:09.039 --> 00:34:10.179
Lot of people go there.

652
00:34:11.769 --> 00:34:16.469
The other part of it being Confederated tribes of Warm Springs,

653
00:34:19.039 --> 00:34:21.519
there's not a lot of natives that.

654
00:34:21.400 --> 00:34:24.019
Go in that part of their reservation.

655
00:34:24.900 --> 00:34:29.019
It's almost an area where they can hide out. And

656
00:34:29.219 --> 00:34:34.300
I know personally there's a cave up in that area

657
00:34:34.340 --> 00:34:38.909
within a few miles called Boca Cave. It's a shallow cave,

658
00:34:38.929 --> 00:34:41.820
but it's a very large cave. where they can seek

659
00:34:41.900 --> 00:34:44.980
shelter up there in rain.

660
00:34:44.639 --> 00:34:47.500
And snow and all that stuff. And that's only just

661
00:34:47.639 --> 00:34:48.369
one that I know of.

662
00:34:48.400 --> 00:34:51.420
There could be many other up there because of Mount

663
00:34:51.440 --> 00:34:53.460
Jefferson being a volcanic mountain.

664
00:34:54.019 --> 00:34:56.059
And there could be other lava tubes up there and

665
00:34:56.079 --> 00:34:58.079
all that kind of stuff. Oh, wow.

666
00:34:58.619 --> 00:35:00.800
What county is this in?

667
00:35:02.500 --> 00:35:06.199
That would be Mount Jefferson County in Oregon. Okay, gotcha.

668
00:35:07.380 --> 00:35:08.300
That whole.

669
00:35:08.639 --> 00:35:09.239
Beach County.

670
00:35:10.010 --> 00:35:16.420
That Warm Springs Reservation, that's an interesting spin to this report,

671
00:35:16.539 --> 00:35:20.010
being that it makes you really wonder, you know, why

672
00:35:20.050 --> 00:35:22.829
they're not going to that part of their reservation land,

673
00:35:23.429 --> 00:35:27.050
if maybe they're Stories like don't go in this area.

674
00:35:27.070 --> 00:35:29.170
That's where they hang out. You never know, right?

675
00:35:29.269 --> 00:35:33.670
But yeah, well see also it's good So far up

676
00:35:33.789 --> 00:35:37.320
into the mountains that I think they only use more

677
00:35:37.340 --> 00:35:41.880
the part that's towards civilization as well And it's so

678
00:35:41.940 --> 00:35:47.760
heavily forced and it is just thick with trees so I.

679
00:35:47.920 --> 00:35:51.289
Think there's that that's kind of two of the reasons

680
00:35:51.309 --> 00:35:56.110
that And then maybe in their history and in their

681
00:35:56.150 --> 00:35:59.889
legends that they say, hey, maybe what they call stick

682
00:35:59.929 --> 00:36:04.690
Indians is Bigfoot. I got a friend of mine that's

683
00:36:04.750 --> 00:36:08.250
native that they say, hey, we have stick Indians and we.

684
00:36:08.170 --> 00:36:12.989
Don't deal with these guys. Just stay away from this area.

685
00:36:13.030 --> 00:36:15.119
That's where they are at.

686
00:36:15.579 --> 00:36:18.900
And he's up in the Cowlitz tribe up there by

687
00:36:19.000 --> 00:36:19.440
Mount St.

688
00:36:19.460 --> 00:36:20.739
Helens. Mount St. Helens.

689
00:36:22.530 --> 00:36:25.300
And they've got these, these stories of, Hey, we have

690
00:36:25.380 --> 00:36:28.059
stick Indians in this area and we don't, we don't

691
00:36:28.099 --> 00:36:31.400
go there. Um, but that's a whole nother, that's a

692
00:36:31.400 --> 00:36:33.380
whole nother story from him.

693
00:36:33.400 --> 00:36:35.280
Um, absolutely.

694
00:36:35.300 --> 00:36:35.920
Yeah.

695
00:36:36.280 --> 00:36:41.409
They, uh, uh, but they, it's just, like I said,

696
00:36:41.530 --> 00:36:46.170
you know, um, you know, just another spin on that

697
00:36:46.250 --> 00:36:50.630
reservation is my father was a, uh, surveyor and engineer

698
00:36:50.690 --> 00:36:54.260
for the forest service and, When he was doing all

699
00:36:54.320 --> 00:36:59.900
that stuff in the 1970s and early 80s, he said

700
00:36:59.940 --> 00:37:01.559
there were many times when he went.

701
00:37:01.440 --> 00:37:03.440
Out there, they had to pack in overnight and stay

702
00:37:03.460 --> 00:37:04.019
in a tent.

703
00:37:04.659 --> 00:37:08.889
That they had heard wolves out there at the edge

704
00:37:08.949 --> 00:37:12.590
of the Warren Springs wilderness out there when they were

705
00:37:12.630 --> 00:37:16.530
doing surveying. And officially, they hadn't had wolves.

706
00:37:16.070 --> 00:37:18.590
In Oregon for years out there. Wow.

707
00:37:18.610 --> 00:37:19.360
Yeah.

708
00:37:19.510 --> 00:37:22.349
So, you know, you, you, you can't, you got, you

709
00:37:22.369 --> 00:37:25.130
get two different things kind of going out there and,

710
00:37:25.909 --> 00:37:29.190
you know, then, and where I can definitely see the

711
00:37:29.230 --> 00:37:32.369
big foot thrive out there at the.

712
00:37:32.210 --> 00:37:34.210
Edge of the warm Springs area.

713
00:37:34.269 --> 00:37:36.730
And then also in that upper end of the Mount

714
00:37:36.750 --> 00:37:39.909
Jefferson wilderness, where I know there's gotta be lots of caves.

715
00:37:41.090 --> 00:37:41.550
Absolutely.

716
00:37:41.750 --> 00:37:45.449
Um, just random question. Have you heard of any accounts

717
00:37:45.510 --> 00:37:47.659
down in the Willamette national forest?

718
00:37:49.050 --> 00:37:49.409
Yes.

719
00:37:50.769 --> 00:37:54.070
Specifically by Oak Ridge or around that area?

720
00:37:55.909 --> 00:38:00.159
Not down as far by Oak Ridge, but I have

721
00:38:00.260 --> 00:38:04.079
another possible Bigfoot story. It's kind of a weird event.

722
00:38:04.840 --> 00:38:08.119
Me and a friend were hiking more down Marion Lake.

723
00:38:08.840 --> 00:38:12.280
It's more down, kind of down by Santiam Pass. And

724
00:38:12.340 --> 00:38:15.329
we're down by a mountain called Three Finger Jack, further

725
00:38:15.369 --> 00:38:17.280
south than Mount Jefferson Wilderness. Yes.

726
00:38:18.190 --> 00:38:21.070
And it's more of a swampy area down there. And

727
00:38:21.949 --> 00:38:23.789
so it's camping overnight.

728
00:38:23.929 --> 00:38:26.420
And I had this like an A-frame tent called a

729
00:38:26.440 --> 00:38:30.599
Eureka Timberline. And it was a four-person tent. And it

730
00:38:30.659 --> 00:38:32.780
was the only one I had at that time. And

731
00:38:33.579 --> 00:38:37.139
I'm laying down sleeping. And all of a sudden, I

732
00:38:37.949 --> 00:38:41.570
feel the bridge of that tent collapse.

733
00:38:41.170 --> 00:38:42.960
All the way down on my face, middle of it.

734
00:38:43.010 --> 00:38:43.670
I'm sleeping.

735
00:38:44.429 --> 00:38:46.670
So I take this big old flashlight I have. I

736
00:38:47.170 --> 00:38:49.090
rip the front of the tent open. I come out there,

737
00:38:49.110 --> 00:38:52.019
and that tent springs right back up. And I hear

738
00:38:52.039 --> 00:38:57.679
this big old crash, this black object crash right through

739
00:38:57.699 --> 00:39:02.679
the woods running away from me. And it definitely wasn't

740
00:39:02.739 --> 00:39:05.590
a bear. It was something on two feet. And it

741
00:39:05.650 --> 00:39:08.010
just happened so quick, and I'd just woken up.

742
00:39:08.030 --> 00:39:13.269
You know, it's just kind of like, huh, what was that? Wow.

743
00:39:13.289 --> 00:39:13.360
Wow.

744
00:39:13.960 --> 00:39:15.400
Yeah.

745
00:39:15.460 --> 00:39:19.449
Good on you. I mean, not everyone would have rushed

746
00:39:19.570 --> 00:39:22.849
out of their tent after it, though. That's incredible.

747
00:39:24.849 --> 00:39:27.250
Man. I've always been in situations.

748
00:39:29.760 --> 00:39:34.579
I've always been to something where I've always been able

749
00:39:34.599 --> 00:39:39.860
to remain calmness and I've been able to remain situationally

750
00:39:39.900 --> 00:39:46.000
aware even in really bad situations like that or really

751
00:39:46.059 --> 00:39:49.730
scary situations because I You know, it's just, I don't know,

752
00:39:49.750 --> 00:39:52.880
just some thing in me where I would be able

753
00:39:52.889 --> 00:39:53.570
to do that.

754
00:39:54.760 --> 00:39:55.460
I've had.

755
00:39:57.320 --> 00:40:02.260
Another situation. You know where Bagby Hot Springs is? There's

756
00:40:02.320 --> 00:40:04.659
a nice hot springs. You hike about a mile and

757
00:40:04.679 --> 00:40:08.760
a half into the woods in the bowl of wilderness.

758
00:40:08.780 --> 00:40:14.059
And so anyways, me and a buddy, we hiked in there.

759
00:40:15.280 --> 00:40:18.199
And we'd soaked for about three or four hours, really

760
00:40:18.219 --> 00:40:19.019
nice soak.

761
00:40:18.780 --> 00:40:20.909
In these wood tubs in the middle of the wilderness.

762
00:40:21.909 --> 00:40:27.510
And, um, um, so anyways, we, uh, got done with

763
00:40:27.550 --> 00:40:29.630
our soak and there was only a couple other people

764
00:40:29.710 --> 00:40:31.750
up there this time, but it.

765
00:40:31.710 --> 00:40:34.989
Was really rainy heavy. And then we were hiking about

766
00:40:35.050 --> 00:40:37.739
halfway back down the, the, um.

767
00:40:39.420 --> 00:40:41.440
The trail, which is right next to a river, and

768
00:40:41.460 --> 00:40:44.389
it was like in springtime, so the river was swollen

769
00:40:44.429 --> 00:40:47.349
and flowing, and it was like a heavy spring rain.

770
00:40:47.369 --> 00:40:49.789
And all of a sudden, behind me.

771
00:40:49.809 --> 00:40:49.889
I.

772
00:40:51.389 --> 00:40:55.820
Heard this whoop, whoop, whoop, just really faintly.

773
00:40:56.940 --> 00:41:00.599
And then, you know, our flashlights were kind of going dim,

774
00:41:00.639 --> 00:41:03.400
but we knew the trail really well, so we're kind

775
00:41:03.440 --> 00:41:05.579
of hiking a little fast, and I hear this, and

776
00:41:05.599 --> 00:41:08.000
I go, oh, all right, well, better a little, just

777
00:41:08.019 --> 00:41:10.260
kind of pick it up a little bit, and I

778
00:41:10.300 --> 00:41:11.820
didn't tell my buddy, but I kind of hiked a

779
00:41:11.820 --> 00:41:15.300
little faster, and about a minute later, I heard that

780
00:41:15.420 --> 00:41:20.989
whoop about twice as loud in the consecutive threes, and

781
00:41:21.050 --> 00:41:23.269
I go, oh, my buddy stopped and said, hey, what

782
00:41:23.309 --> 00:41:23.710
was that?

783
00:41:24.070 --> 00:41:26.090
I go, yeah, well, I know what it is. He's like,

784
00:41:26.150 --> 00:41:28.869
what is it? It's a Bigfoot, dude. I was like, no.

785
00:41:28.889 --> 00:41:29.969
He's like, yeah, it is.

786
00:41:31.630 --> 00:41:34.960
So we started hiking a little faster, and all of

787
00:41:34.980 --> 00:41:38.340
a sudden, it did it again. In a second, it

788
00:41:38.360 --> 00:41:42.460
was threes, but it was so loud, it reverberated through

789
00:41:42.480 --> 00:41:46.590
my chest. And that was behind us. And then all

790
00:41:46.610 --> 00:41:51.730
of a sudden, in front of us, we heard this, ah, ah,

791
00:41:52.429 --> 00:41:56.260
just like that. It's like there was one right in

792
00:41:56.320 --> 00:41:58.800
front of us. I had a feeling maybe there was

793
00:41:58.820 --> 00:42:01.219
a family group there, and it was trying to scare

794
00:42:01.300 --> 00:42:02.179
us out of the area.

795
00:42:03.440 --> 00:42:05.599
At that point, we were in a dead run out

796
00:42:05.619 --> 00:42:07.780
of there on that trail. But like I said, we've

797
00:42:07.800 --> 00:42:10.420
been up there so many times, we knew that trail,

798
00:42:10.480 --> 00:42:13.360
so we just did run out of there.

799
00:42:13.159 --> 00:42:15.900
The last quarter mile of that trail to the trail

800
00:42:15.920 --> 00:42:16.699
that had gotten.

801
00:42:16.559 --> 00:42:17.239
A car and left.

802
00:42:19.059 --> 00:42:24.059
We didn't have an active sighting because it was nighttime. But, yeah, that's...

803
00:42:25.369 --> 00:42:29.179
the hearing thing we had. And that's, that's the big

804
00:42:29.260 --> 00:42:32.860
three that I've had with Bigfoot in the, now that

805
00:42:32.920 --> 00:42:37.139
whole area is like say between O'Reilly Lake and that,

806
00:42:37.179 --> 00:42:41.150
that where, where Three Finger Jack is and where Bagby,

807
00:42:41.449 --> 00:42:44.829
Bagby Hot Springs is, that's all within a 15 mile area.

808
00:42:47.849 --> 00:42:52.349
That is, those are some wild, wild accounts. Uh, Ryan,

809
00:42:52.389 --> 00:42:53.550
thank you for sharing that.

810
00:42:53.969 --> 00:42:54.460
You're welcome.

811
00:42:54.619 --> 00:42:57.579
Um, Keep me in mind, you know, if you ever

812
00:42:58.179 --> 00:43:01.909
run into anything else out there, my email is right

813
00:43:01.929 --> 00:43:05.010
there on screen. It's BigFootSociety at gmail.com if you ever

814
00:43:05.190 --> 00:43:06.409
want to reach out to me, okay?

815
00:43:07.050 --> 00:43:07.429
All right.

816
00:43:08.090 --> 00:43:09.730
But thank you for coming up, man.

817
00:43:09.750 --> 00:43:10.769
Yeah, you're welcome.

818
00:43:11.750 --> 00:43:14.530
Have a good one. If you've had a Bigfoot encounter

819
00:43:14.750 --> 00:43:16.630
of your own, I would love to hear from you.
