He said, do you want to leave? Because she was pacing back and forth. She said yeah, and they got in the car and left. He asked me, he said, you're coming there. I don't know why. And I said, no, I'm gonna stick around a little bit. They left him. That was a lonely feeling, watching her black jeep going out the dirt road. And then I'm here.

Now these things are in back of me. Now I got my back at him, and they're just still screaming and hollering and really carrying off one out. But I thought, this is it. I'm staying. I don't care if they tear me apart. And how are you doing tonight, Ronnie. I'm doing fine. Yeah, a long time since I've been ready. Yeah, it's like the new version of radio in a

2:13 way. It's a lot of fun. Let's start at the beginning, Ronnie, So tell me what was it that first got you in the big footing years ago? I don't know. I've always been weird as a kid. I just was always attracted to mysteries and explained things and phenomenous and stuff. At a very early age, when it was fourth fifth grade, I got a book called Stranger Than Fiction by Frank Edwards. I believe it was I read that and had something in there that the Obama Snowman. I got interested in that. I think it was eight and then I was telling an aunt I had. I lived in southern California at the time. I had an aunt that lived in Eureka, which was eight hundred miles away California, and she knew about me being interest in Voma Snowman. So it was during the time that the road construction knowing the California Bluff Creek area was going by Ray Wallace there, and she saved all the clippings for me on the Bigfoot because that's when the Bigfoot bestwear. The name of Bigfoot originated the Bluff Creek area during nineteen fifty eight, I think it was or fifty nine. Yeah, So Jerry Cooney was seeing the tracks around as Bulldos. I went to the

3:46 newspaper and Humboldt or whatever it was there Eureka. But and then the picture was on. Anyway, she saved all the newspaper clippings for me and I didn't know it. So when she for Christmas, she I got that as a Christmas present. So I got interested in Big Pot. At that time, I think I was nine years old, So that was my beginning. You were around nine to ten in the late fifties. Wait what I'm hearing there? Yes, okay, wow, so you were at an interesting age when the Patterson Gimlin film was released. Do you remember that? Oh yeah, definitely fifty seven. I think I was about seventeen years old. See how old was I at that time? Sixty That was sixty seven, right, it was sixty seven. Yeah, you would have been sixteen or seventeen years old. Yep. Yeah, that's when I got I really got I really got motivated. I guess a lot of people did that. You could look at even at that age and I didn't know anything, and I still don't know anything about these things. But at that looking at that, I'm movement and stuff, and just the way it moved you. You could tell that it looked like something always there, even though your family's are looking at you weird. But yeah, that's when I really got motivating. So that's when I ordered a tranquilizer gun and I paid five hundred bucks for a gun

They had these big dreams about shooting one of these things in the rear end after seeing that picture woman some day, I'm going to get out there, and thought about doing something like that. And of course I had a problem with tranquilizer a drug or something. What would you use would you want something for apes or And I never did think that these things were apes myself, even though a lot of friends have about that, John Green, doctor Karrans and great people that I just didn't see that with a human like FOOTPRINTSS stuff, which is most obvious the first thing. So I decided to go with something with cnal and and then I went around to pharmacists and stuff. I didn't know where to go and try to get something like that, and I was asking around to get it, and most the pharmacists and they said, no, we can't get you, and we can't do that, or we don't can't get that or whatever. This one's pharmacist said, Yeah, he said that's for tranquilizing people or whatever. Oh. Then he said, yeah, maybe I can help you out and give me your information. I didn't do that. I got scared or left. I realized that my gosh, I probably I didn't want to tell him. I wanted to. Oh. I think I did tell him. I think I told you what you wanted for said something about I wanted to tranquilize Bigfoot, and I think that give me a weird look. I left. I dropped that

6:49 project, that idea, which I found out later wouldn't work anyway. But anyway, so trial and error from the beginning. That is amazing. So was this in southern California that this all took place? Then? Yes? Yeah, okay, wow, what a story. That's amazing. Man, Thank you. It might sound kind of dumb, No, it's awesome. These are the kind of stories that my listeners absolutely love. Did you first see the film then in a I know it was shown in movie theaters a lot. Did you see it in a movie theater then? No, I didn't you know something I don't remember. I think it was on TV during that time period. So you were getting into your your almost twenty in that time period, right, after the PG film, Did you seriously go out and start looking at that time besides trying to get the Oh no, I did not, not at all. That come at a much later date.

7:50 I'd read a little bit about these things, and I'm kind of using anyway, and I'm certainly not really an outdoorsman or anything hunter or anything. I did a lot of hiking, but it wasn't looking for monsters. But I got to think about it and what I did find out about it. Peter Burn, he's the first guy I contacted, sometime in the mid seventies or something. But I realized about unless you never seen one that I know anyway, Peter Burn didn't, John Green didn't, and Doctor Grants didn't. And oh my god, you could get out to you get a chance to even get the glimpse of these one of these things at a distance, much less close up. You could search all your life, and I just thought it wasn't the feasible to go on for what the time that was involved and everything else, and not that they're not out there. But I was learning a little bit by the time I was in my twenties. I opted to collect snacks and stuff, and they did that for many years when all of the United States down the different places, I always had these stains on my mind.

9:03 But I figured I'm collecting spanks to run across one of them, that will be a plus, but not likely. But and so I didn't get into it till my real what I could call an expedition was after I had gotten Queen of the Lady year. It was in the nineties and late nineties, and I by that time I was I knew Richard Greenwell of the International Society of Cryptozoology. I don't know if you're familiar with him. I have heard of a society, Okay. He was the secretariat and doctor Mackall Roy Mackwell was the vice president, and Bernard Uverman's was a president. And that was a day established the Acunda that the Smithsonian they were legit guys, and so me and Richard did a lot of build research started. It didn't start till ninety eight. In ninety nine I went with him on. It was the second expedition there that he had in assist years, and the first expedition that he had done with it was withing doctor Meldrim and fell about him name of Mark Slack. He was the guy. And then Darwin Writcher's son.

10:20 He didn't that in two years. That was in nineteen ninety seven, and I think it's in the doctor Melgrim's book. He's got it in there, which was interesting. I didn't of course, this was long before his book came out, but he tells what happened there when he was on the team back in there, and that they was count in a metal where these things came in there at night and they were running in between their tints and stuff. They had stole their oatmell and they had it down in the bags and these things took it out. They didn't make a mess like a beary wood. And they heard him running back and forth and doctor Meldrim was it or and his tent, and then he said one of them actually hit the guide wire or something on that and jerked his tin running through there. But anyway, the next morning they checked it out and the tracks were there. It was biped in the grass. Nothing good cast, but the indentations of there where they had been come in during the ninth Richard was using the tall blast and stuff. So anyway, that was ninety seven. Then Richard asked me if I wanted to go on the Netsu one, which was nineteen ninety nine, and we went in June or June or July, I think it was.

11:41 But there's only a window frame to get in there. It's just snow and stuff most of the year. It's only a couple of months that are really safe to get back in there. It's about forty miles back in from Orleans and the canyon. It was there to the trick we had. The first is five hundred pounds of equipment and food supplies and thermal imagery and everything else. So we got back there and there were some results, and we called blasted in the canyons in the evening with what was purportedly bigfoot screens and stuff like that. We had babies and how our monkey sounds and baby sounds humans and stuff, and we split up. There was a the main camp.

12:33 Base camp was Richard and his son, and then me and Angelo Caparella. He was a biologist from the University of Chicago. We camped out about a mile away from there our campus, and Angelo was he couldn't handle my story. So we went one hundred feet down the mountains somewhat and I was by myself there and something was coming around, and I'm going to say this because it's important, has something to do with something to happen in my area recently. Now, this was nineteen nine nine in fisk Us, northern California, when this was going on, and after the call blasting one evening, I stepped out of the tent to relieve myself and I heard something snap, the twig snap, and right on the other side of it was a big canyon. But anyway, I heard it and that's all I heard. But we had already we had to shoot a bear. I think it was just four or five days before. There was stocking us and Actuly was going to charge shooting amNY choice. So I was thinking there and I got back in my tent. I knew something was I felt that something big was there, and I had a pistol and mace and I felt somewhat comfortable with that.

14:03 Anyway, went through the night, nothing happened. The next night that the same fim of nine, about one o'clock in the morning, I stepped out. I hear the twig snapped the same area. Of course it's pitch black, But to get back in the tent, I told I'd go, we'd Pike back to the base camp and have breakfast in the morning. And I told Richard who's the team leader, and I had all the equipment and night equipment where the thermally reginnion at night. The equipment in for read but I said, we are you guys are to set the stuff around Mike, can I think something's coming around there? And at this point I wasn't thinking Bigfoot.

14:46 I was thinking there. But he said, yeah, maybe we should do that. They talked to her. They didn't want to do it right then, they wanted the equipment where they were. So the third night, I got out the same time head twicks Nut and I got back in the tent and I had the court done recone all around it before I set my chin up there. And I wanted as as curious possible, so I had set it up to undergirl some shrubbery, thick rush and stuff on one side of it, and then right behind it there was a log there was bowed and not a log but a limb, but it was bowed up just like a guard for a car if you went a park right in front of it just bowed up just perfectly, went across the level and then came back down, and I had stood on that before I set my tent out there, and I jumped on it. I was one hundred and sixty five pounds and I didn't budget, so it was solid, so I had that behind me and that's where my head was for a slip. So this third night, one of the twig, I say, right from that area there was an animal trouble. All went all the way back and I came back around right behind my tent, so I think whatever it was there it did that.

16:03 But sometime during the night I heard that that branch or the big tree par just going there like it was going down, making a noise, and I couldn't budget jumping on it, so something heavy was pushing it was right behind my head and then it went and why but it started. I could tell it was going back up, so something didn't want to make any noise. And then right on the side, I mean the right hand slid of the tin. Right after that, I heard this excuse me, don't jump, But I got it fund of give you an idea. I heard only ten times worth ten times louder, so not of course it maybe that was it was unnerving and I didn't know what to think of that, And I thought something was going to come through my tin. So I sit there Indian style all night with my pist on one hand and Mason the other. Nothing happened, and it was years later. There's a lot more on that expedition, but I want to make a point because at least something happened there that they got me in trouble many years later, like within the last couple of years.

17:17 Here I'm in Oregon right now, central Oregon, surrounded by mountains and woods, and that sounds. There was a few years after that with a friend of mine. I was over to his house, retmand Nilis Junior. I don't know if you ever heard of mean bickfoot ology yet he established, but anyway, he I was over his house and I had never heard the run morehead pages. I didn't have got that year sounds and I came off with that sound. And I was telling him the same story that was years ago, and he says he looked at me and says, I don't think you because I was still thinking there, I don't know any about there is nothing. Maybe I don't know sounded hoffl you know, scary for a bear to come up like a rough but he says, I don't this. My friend says, I don't think he's seen it. Bear any played me the more headsafe Ye about the third one in with the aggressive sound, and it is almost the exact and I think, holy heick. Maybe yeah, I think one of those things was standing by my chits. I don't think he liked me being there. It was aggressive, for sure. So many years later, coming up to now, he was introduced an area by a hunter and well to somebody else that knew I was interesting, big food. But anyway, I got a minis area and right off the bat we started having

18:48 things happening. And my gosh, that's probably hour two hour talk right there and all less. So I'm just going to keep to the point here for now. That sound I after being annoying these things, and here we had to come in in different areas and whistled from both sides, communicate or whatever. Camping everything was fine. And this friend of mine is named Duane. He's a rug and ole hunter. I don't think he's afraid of much. He's been charged by grizzly bears twice and it didn't bother him, and he knew these things were up here that people didn't believe him. And anyway, I was introduced soon and I wanted to go up onting. Nobody had ever went up with me. I did and we had action. It was going on. Everything was fine, and then evening when we were there, we're camping in this metal area. It's a good, pretty high elevation. It's back in our ways, and I was sitting in my chair syping on a beer and him and his dad, we had grandfa there too, and they were they went to laid down the tint. It was getting dust, and I was sitting outside of the tint in the chair, and I asked him what kind of sounds? Because he's been up there, camping there and honey, mostly by himself for over forty years, annoying those things over there, and over forty years he only got to see one once and which about from

20:21 about three hundred feet, and only one time with him being there all the time, was so busy an idea, But I asked him, I said, what kind of sounds you heard it? Over the years? Water me He come out with hunting water and so I said, I'm going to share a sound with you that hired one time so I came off with the one I just must tried to come up with you. And if you hear that, Ron Moore has cape seer sounds, order about the third one, is it? But so I did that and pretty loud, and I was just sitting there dreamer, and about fifteen minutes later, twenty minutes or whatever, we heard these things coming from a distance along distance, just hauling and raising hill and screamed. Something was very agitated, and there was more than one and they were coming our way. But the way he knew exactly what it was coming. And I said, I said, any of those sounds, because these things A couple of them are coming up like crazy educated jimpanzees, and another one was coming off someone like a mad owl, and another one was coming off like a coyote, and another one like a raven, and all of them were going at the same time, and they're headed our way and they're getting louder, and so I said, I asked him they were still in the ten and I said, do you ever hear anything like that?

21:49 He said, yeah, no, not quite like that. And I said, yeah, we knew what they were. And I said, I think this is a premiere at the coming attraction, and I jumped got in the tent pretty quick with them. They were just enough rooms the three of us, and they're coming. They're getting louder. By the time they got to where we're at, it was it was totally dark, and they came. We could hear them coming in and circling in the back of the metal, coming around just within the tree wine and they came directly behind their tent, and just for an hour and a half, they just they terrorized it.

22:29 We actually didn't think we were going to live through the night. It was so bad. There's no way to explain it how in tints it really was. But two of them coming off like chimpanzees and crazy champans and the other animals sounds, and you could tell they were running back and forth, and one of them was charging bump bump, bump bump right up petty and just running right up to the tent and then it run back, and they did that every once in a while. They did it for about an hour and a half, and and every time the one that was charging the embrace or impact because it felt like it was gonna you len he was going to come and take the chance and knew with it and just grow right on through.

23:11 That's what I felt like, that it was up on a dime right that they had to sound one like right there they had the chi before it came through and then run back and yeah, that was pretty terrifying night. And I was that I could document that would be something but a catch. But anyway, they ended up going around the other side and did a complete circle actually, and I went back around and went back out the same way, and you could hear him keep going until they started fading out. While they were fading out and fading out till you couldn't hear him anymore. Now that was a while they anyway, the a scared the Jesus out of his And what's interesting that one of the things that is is that the day before I had when we were doing our lecon around there, and we've seen a track of one, but it was a smaller track. It was probably about twelve inches maybe a little less out. They would just see the impression of what it was and it was going a certain way and there was a tree right there too, it looked like it and a little cathway like and that's when we were I said let's get some food and put out in a tree.

24:29 I hadn't tried to put food up, and I said, oh gosh, a tray tree that crewed up the stuff. So that we went to town and we got bananas and we moved out and put them on the tree. Next morning we went out and checked and those tracks were coming from the tree and the bananas were gone, and there were snow scraps underneath the tree or anything something. You had taken the bananas. So that's why we set up or camp there. I said, I said, our gamp up here. So we did. So that evening that happened, and of course they were anxious to get out of there. Grandpa he never said a word or saying. None of us were really talking, not till it was over, and they were leaving un lesson of the stories. So funny one min I'm gonna skip it for now. But next morning everybody was and as soon as he got daybreak and we were ready to go, they were standing there for a little bit talking and I because I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on. We'd been going in there and we know they were coming around, and then we hadn't had any problems, and they just went ballistic crazy this night. And I I was telling Joline, I said, my god, I wonder what happened. Why did they do that? I'm thinking because I was telling them that the younger one took them down, as it looked like from the tracks, he might have taken that to the old man, and the old man might have got pissed off, said us forgiveness kids

26:00 some food. I'm just trying to figure it out. And then he says no. And this guy is a season hunter and he's been all over a business game hunter. He said no, he said they were here for you. I filled the shivers, the shills go right down my neck. I said, here for me? Why what he says last night? He said, when you come up with this sound? He says, at what twenty minutes? They were hited here? He says, they came here for you. I said, oh shit. But so anyway, we left, and I did go back, and I took him home, and I went back only because I had a friend that's a big foot hunter happened to be in the house. The house there donned the roll. I don't know if you ever heard any but he was at my house. He came from Montana, just happened to be here when I came here that day after the camp got there. And here's a big time big hunters. He's eighty years old, he's still going on and he's caught a fellow that I told him. I said to go up there. Hell, I didn't want to go back.

27:07 I was still fricking nerves. By took him back up there and we walked around on him and I found a scene where they came in. It was like they just leveled the brush and everything. There wasn't anything. A big path where it must have been four feet wide where they came in and went to around, but it was too hard to see. Me really distinguished old tracks, but it was all missed up. Scratch what you could tell where the footprintswerre back and forth, nothing to cast. It was hard ground. But on the other side where they went out, I found two trash in a softer areas, and the first one I seen was I measured it by getting a breaking a stick up. I didn't have any paper measuring stuff.

27:53 I broke a stick off and measured the later. But this one track was fifteen inches and to nine inches. It was thirteen inches long those to nine inches like at the ball and put seven inches at the heel, and not far from that there was another track, and then they had stepped right down where it was soft foiling for grass and green. I don't know what you troll the stuff, but anyway, it was heavy and it was spongy like material underneath the canopy and a soft moist ground right in this area. And this thing had stepped right there and right down there, right down to the rich you see the root system and stuff. I jumped on it, and the area threat right there at the track and I jumped and it just like a sponge. It went down and it came back up this whatever it was so heavy, it went right down and laid the bare roots. And the track was twenty three inches long and about nine and a half inches wide and seven inch just out the heel. So that was a big daddy guy.

29:03 And that's the one I guess I pissed off. Dwayne had said that he wasn't going to ever go back. He'd been hunting over there over forty years with him then was bothered. But that really did it for him and pretty much me too. And about the months later, I wanted to go back up there, and I went by and I asked him, said, let's go up there, and let's just go and I said, I said, Dwayne, I said, it's daytime, it's summertime. I see in the afternoon it's hot. I said, they're going to be out to sleeping somewhere. I wouldn't worry about it. Let's go up there. Let's just go and talk him into it. And his daughter came along and when they introduced me to him, and we went up there, and are you still with me? Yes, Ronnie, I am just I'm letting you talk because this is amazing. I'm doing my best, trying now to ask questions, but this is amazing. I told you to somebody interrupting me or taking off or do something. It's taken me years to get to the point not to interrupt people. But I just hope the guy didn't hang up. Thank this is so much closer that you're good. So anyway, it's all true. I don't sit around make stuff like this up. In fact, I take the serious two the subject too seriously to do that. Well, we went up there, and I just when I'm thinking, because I was a little nervous

30:36 going back, but I now these things are gonna now that'd be sleeping somewhere. And I really convinced myself of that. And we got up there and parked right not far from the metal, and I had my car. They took there. If his daughter took the jeep, they drove them that and I had my little green car and we were parked right there on the access road, right next to the medal. I will us back in the meadow a little bit. And we were there, and these if you hear some animals or birds chirping, if I'm usually okay, there's pretty good sign they're not there unless you want them to be there. It was completely silent. That's a good sign that they're probably around. But these little birds were chirping on the other side of the metal. It's pretty good sided men about a hand seat across or more to the front. And the birds, little bird sound like little finches or something. But I'm here in the birds, and I'm looking at the daughter. She's staring over that area. She's pretty smart girl. Nobody's say anything. I'm looking over that way too. She starts chirping, and then she's got to like a pattern chirp, but kind of like a pattern coming from the little birdie over there too, and she's, yeah, it changed, there was different these the chirping. I'm still not I'm not sure. She walks over there. It was about sixty feet and when she got one in fifteen feet, the little birdie started picking up and

32:08 tripping trip, getting excited. Maybe birds can get excited somebody walking towards them. But she said she didn't go any further. And still nobody's saying anything. We was just watching. And she turned around and walked back to us, me and her dad, and they were really going crazy. And then something else was happening. Two two squirrels came off about the time, off the distance and towards the bottoms what it's called the bottoms, and it's a fascinating area. That's the first place we camped out. When I went up there, I thought it was a good place. It's about our hours hiked down in there, and it's like the old girls and stuff and creak and cabbage and even tell and part of the swamp and the other I mean, a perfect place for those things. That's where we the first night, and we actually had two of them that night. That was long before this deal.

33:06 And you had to keep up with me if you can't, because I get sidetracked sometimes. But I'm going to get back to what I was saying. But they that first night we had a whisper for both sides. The next morning we figured what it was. Next morning we knew going out of the bottoms, hikings starting to hide because the rocks were hitting the trees ahead of us as you're going out. So that confirmed what it was. But that's why it was. Okay, we weren't having a problem. Now it's changed. Now now we're there, got the daughter and she's back, and two squirrels the bottoms that are in the direction of the bottoms. They're going off crazy and Dune said, and needn't knows his wildlife from the worms right on up. But he said that suns coming this way. And it was just right after he said that, which we could hear him coming. It was the same freaking sounds that night. Now this is three o'clock in the afternoon and they're coming that crazy chimpanzees sounds, and the wolves, and are the coyote rather and the raven and owl, all the five them. I counted five the way. I thought there was a lot more than that, but I'm going by the sounds. I thought there was five. But they right out of way, getting louder and louder, just like the night, except this the daytime, and they knew we were there, and it's like

34:37 the second time. They're going to have to freaking warners, you know. But they come up and behind the girl on the other side of the matter was probably about one hundred feet away, and they came up to that. You could tell they were right there screaming and hollering, and sounded like surroundings sound amplified and echoing. It's just so loud. And they weren't coming out in the open. They were right there and screaming and hollering. And Delanne asked his daughter. He said, you want to leave, because she was pacing back and forth. She said yeah, and I got in the car and left. He asked me, he said, you're coming. I I don't know why, And I said, no, I'm gonna stick around a little bit. And I'm not a brave person. I don't know why I do some things. I can't believe why I do some things, but I anyway, they laughed, and that was a lonely feeling, watching her black jeep going on at the dirt road street woods on both sides of them.

35:40 And then I'm here. These things are screaming and hollering and it's me. I guess they want and I'm staying, which sounds crazy. And I'm looking at my currents about twenty feet away, and it's pointed in a direction that is a dead end on that road. So I get in and I have to turn around on and I got a pretty good idea of these things to from report to. These things can move, they're quick, they want you, They're going to get you. I'm thinking, my gosh, I don't want them to have to think about it. They might just changing that car. Getting in there and turning around take a little time. I'm I don't like, but I start walking towards your car because the closer to it I am, the safer I feel. And I as I'm walking towards it, it's like I got two voices in my head. I one saying get the hell out of here, run go, and the other one saying, no, if you go, you're going to kick yourself in the butt the rest of your life, this is why you're here. And I just kept going back and forth as I'm walking towards the car because I wanted to get out of there, but I didn't. I walked to the front of the car, leaned up against the hood. Now these things are in back of me.

37:00 Now I got my back at him, and they're just still screaming and hollering and really carrying on. And I just I was determined that one voice whatever was and went out, but I thought, this is it. I'm staying. I don't care if they tear me apart. I'm staying here. And as soon as I thought that, I'm not really into the mine speaks stuff, but it was almost like, as soon as I thought that, I'm standing here even if you, even if they tear me apart. As soon as I thought that, another sound joined in with them, and it was the most hideous, deep gurgling growl, I like straight from Hell or something. And it was loud. It's just as loud as them, and they were so loud already, and it was just to growl because I and it just it. And as soon as I heard that, because this spella sounded real serious, I was already bad enough and when that joined in, I thought, oh, I changed my mind, and I walked around slowly through my car and opened the door and just still go on. But as soon as I sat down, I hadn't even closed the door yet, it was silence. They all shut up, and which I knew right in.

At least one at least you thought that first time, you really thought you were going to die. And these things can scare they a lot off, they could terrify you. It's no wonder I believe that. And I've interviewed a lot of people over the years, and military people that have been through this and been to common that without fail,

We had fresh put bananas back up in there after the younger one had taken them. And this things went in that night and they passed that tree up twice. They was going in and coming back out, and they didn't touch the bananas. They didn't want they were too that's how pissed they were. So anyway, I thought about it, and I thought, God, this it's really simple.

There's somebody out there from may hit no but I But the rest of the time that the other animals of critters or ravens, the birds and squirrels or whatever it would get the get the food, apples or whatever, but they always left droppings and food parts or whatever banana peels abo the end of it or whatever. There's always a mess no matter what

And this one day I hung by and get some food and take them back home, and nothing was happening up there. I don't think it did. I think something happened anyway, but I I've got some fruit and I got some bananas.

I think it was about the fourth time a day, come back. And now I'm sitting there.

He's a Mexican villain and he's been to prison almost but he's actually a good guy, like he was a friend. But he's not into this big foot or stuff or anything in the woods or whatever. But he knew what I was doing.

I want to go. I ad to take an honor. But I did that a couple of times. I took another fello up there some time in between.

There was a grunt behind us. Behind and think, well, across the road further down the access road. Now it's behind us on the left because the grunt there. About a minute later, there was a grunt behind us on the other side of us, behind us, and so that's five grounds and it sounded just like something and circled us. And so he's this guy. He's not your typical fellow. Most people wouldn't. That

It's the ways back in. But I so I haven't been able to get back up in there. But I but I did get up there for a little bit before freaking having problems getting but because I was worried that the fire had taken this whole area. I don't know, God, that'd be my luck, established area with a family of these things and it freaking destroyed. In fact, that's what everybody was saying. Yeah, my some of law was a cop here. He finally got away from after ten years, but he was a cop here at the time and he got the call. I'm instead. He comes in the house and he says, hey, you just got a bid for a report and whatever, and he's trying to tell me. I said, give me the details, name for me, let me talk to the guy tomorrow, take him off. He had a fresh report and I, which don't hear hert and I he wanted to get it. I did it for him. I said, it's got to be a crick and while goose Chase, I said, I've been on this before, I know better. I'll know where it's out in the direction and all this stuff. And he actually followed his cop car out till about twenty miles or something in the road, and then he stopped me. He said, right back in there, you'll see a victory and stuff for it. Pitch black. I've got the headlights. But I anyway, I was supposed to see this thing. I close up and he was cutting logs or something, and I go back in. I knew better it was stupid, buddy,

1:14:55 to go back in. Trees all over the place. I can't find nothing the way to find that he's a better cut than he's a big fitter. So I drove around for a while. You don't know where to hell the stopper exactly this happened, and went back home. I went out the next day and I think he went out and showed me, yeah, right where it happened and stuff, and there was some dancatation tracks. I couldn't make it any good treasure, right, But anyway, this guy was after some kind of stern. A lot of trees are down, so people were out cutting firewood in different areas back in the woods. It surrounded the woods, gooph forever around here. But this guy the call, and he was so scared he colf trust. He had to pick up and he had a chainsaw and he was cutting this way up and it was getting dust and he looks up and right up on this ridge above him, a little bit of an elevation, only about fifteen twenty feetuation. Things standing, They're looking at him, and he said he didn't pay attention to right away. He said, he looked back and just kept on cutting. He said, he thought he's got there's a man standing. There's what he thought. He wouldn't get into excited. People do this a lot with these things. For some reason.

1:16:20 They've don't seen him man, when they actually I think, no, they know that they didn't see it all. And anyway, I said, he looked again, and he said, yeah, you know, and I said he stood up. He said, just staring this things staring at him. And he said that he caught his head looked a little bit more because the trees are right behind this thing. And the thing cocked his head at the same time, just like you did. Like it was either mimic game or whatever. The Kacha said, just like you did. And that was enough. He was and that pickup and he was gone, left his tools.

1:17:01 I saw everything, and on the way into town, he called the cops. He wanted to tell it, but he did not want anybody in tow annoying it. And he came by with a couple of kids, great two good little girls, but he great little family. They came by and stayed for a couple of hours and went to it and talked to him about it. And we never say anything about it to anybody. And so you hit reports there was a guy here about three months ago whatever during the summer, when that God has been more longer or not did the gas station? I have no doubt because tell the truth, he had no reason to make this soup in the run. Stop telling us big for the stories. But about the gas station. I pulled in. They looked at the mountain up there, and there's a meadow up there. I know they come to there because I've been here long enough to people and people I know they're not lying, and they come to here around the ridges and stuff. But people don't even know it. That's amazing. But this guy was. He says, I've seen a big foot up there and I just got out to get gas.

1:18:15 And he said where, He said, matter right there and he said that he said there was elk. He says it ran out from the woods into the manner. But he said, I was scared. You could tell he stopped and it was looking around and then it started folded again and it was going to the woods on the other side of the He said, out of the tree line came this man. But it wasn't a man. He says, it was dark recovery. It wouldn't close. He said, it was dark. Didn't look like close. He said, just Paul and asked after it across that mento, so you get get him here. And I talked to the biologists here years ago. He said, the only thing he's seen in thirty years of it. And he said what tracks? He said, he cast up westric has won. He said, they had the four toes.

Actually I've talked to gentlemen where uh and also in Alaska too, there are reports that there are four toad sasquatch that are extremely aggressive, especially in the mount Hood area, so that could be what they were. Yeah, so he saw a four toad track in that area. As the biologist, he wouldn't lie to me give me. In fact, he told me, I said, did you ever show anybody or whatever? And he said, I took the die up in a bit, but researcher, he's up in the mount hood. And I said, park Bill and he says, yeah, that says the name.

He said he took that track to Peter burn You know who Peter Burne is, Oh, absolutely, yeah, definitely know who Peter burn So he was that tow track around the Oakridge area then, or no, you know something I don't remember, it's been years, orgo here. T to him about it, and it was in the state here, but he had worked here in Washington too, but he was thirty years in the forest biologist but I don't remember. It was in orgument I don't remember exactly where. But he said he had to. He said he wished when he took it. He said he left it at the department. But he said that he thought, he said, Peter burn told him that he thought it was real. It was good size too. I think it was like seventeen inches, I think, he said. But he says the depth of it, he says in the woods, and he says, somebody the fake and he says of the impact.

1:20:45 He said, the depth of it and the stride, and he said the four toes. He said, why would something going to take a track? Why wouldn't Why would somebody make poortolls? So he cast it in. Yeah, but there's stuff around here. I go on and on with a few reports. They're not every day, of course, but yeah, they're around here, some people aware of it. Most of are not ones that are really don't hi, Oh sorry, go ahead. The ones are really big ridiculous are the ones that the hunters that don't ever see any evidence. They probably overlook a lot of them and don't even know it, but I them. But it's interesting. In the other clip of the coin there too.

1:21:27 Most of the reports that come in from what I hear, are from hunters, but the hunters that make the reports are in the minority because not everybody goes out and sees something like this. So interesting, Ronn. Your files must be just amazing, the things that you've the reports you've taken over the years. It must be an incredible collection. Oh gosh, I from all over. I'm from here to Florida. The foul monsters stuff. I theyged multiple drifts down there, actually moved there, stayed there for two months. On one of them, that's the only way get anybody to talk to me and get a small town like that, and I ain't nobody going to talk to some crazy California coming out looking for monsters. I had to move out there, and after a couple of weeks they sure changed around. I had people knocking at my door and everybody had their fout monster explanation that had lived there all their life. I don't think any of them are right, but it was fun, and they didn't want to meet in town either. They didn't want to be seen with no monster hunter that make an agreement meet him a textra can or at their farm or something. Yeah, I've got off.

1:22:43 I got some stories there. They are interesting. That'd be another hour or two. Did you ever get any reports from Iowa. I'm personally from Iowa. I'm just curious. No, I when I get reports, I don't I like far my own my personal, my own reports, and I can rely on them for sure. But I think a lot of people are telling the truth, but that's them. I like my own stuff, but I know I never an I've spent some time in Montana, Idaho and Oregon, Washington and and Arkansas and Louisiana, and Florida. So Louisiana is fascinating on a swamp monster just another notch, another level going up, and no self respecting big foot hunter it's going to admit to or say anything incredible about that. I've talked to him and they've done their investigations. They all think it's a hoax, and I don't think, oh really, I'm done.

And it's an excellent researcher. And what he does for that is those analyzing those films and stuff is just great. But I don't agree with him on everything either. But we always got along. I like him, but we fifteen years at least or whatever, never agreed on this, honey Alan swamp monster. There's something there. I don't see any evidence and whatever. And he come out with a fifteen minute video what about eight years ago, whatever it was, and claiming that it was Hope just counting on the swat because he had found that foot back in there. Somebody had that with a contraption on it to take prince. That was good, got the investigation left, and then that boy that was awful quick. That was quick. So somebody picked some tracks and he and I know the family because

1:25:20 of many years ago. I went back and then the mother of Dana Haller killed. They're great people and there's no way to lying. I spent some time down there, camped out on Pearl River and got to the interviewed people and the biologists down there and just went through that stuff. And the people are not making anything on And that's my opinion that I and on Harlan Ford deciding the way it was the history of it there and those tracks, and I checked into his background pretty good and honest fellow him and Billy Mills that he had with him that day when he's seen that, and he didn't get the track. The day that he had they had were hunting and said, they've seen this thing. It wasn't till twelve or thirteen years later, sixty three you've seen it. I think it was seventy two that he got tracks.

They it was that before he could come up with tracks that I just got to run those across those again and I know they're just so anyway, when that happened, I called him. I felt for the family because they had there event through a lot. He told their liars and hoachers and all that stuff. They went through a lot of roughs up there for a while on a couple occasions and Dana and I've always been friends with her ever since a minute down there and the people, but which is an interesting story, get into some details maybe sometime. But the MK I called him, and I answer answer the mks, and that's what he found. And this not as catchman if. I asked him if he would go on the radio and debated, and he said, yeah, I don't know that it's going to change anything. I just wanted to help the family on the shop I don't know, but anyway, he did it and it went for an hour. It was on Scott Marlow's radio show to Buy Elisa in Florida. And he didn't believe any of that stuff either, the three toad stuff. They think it's nonsense, which I can understand, but in a way, but of course that I anyway, so were waiting for an now and they said it was the best radio show they ever had. They want to schedule another one, so we did.

1:27:30 We did two shows radio shows, and mka is still I still don't see any of it in seever. Well, a few years after that he let me know he was down there unannounced, and he because he had to take I think it was big in his mom at the hospital in Orleans, so he had some time, so he went down there. He ran across some tracks and they were like the Harland Ford tracks that he had said earlier the years before that they it was all fake. Now he's looking at him and there's a series of him and it was steavy and it had to be fresh because Sanity four there was a rain and there was spright, a light rain, and there's rain sprinkle all around except the inside these tracks that were in the clay, there was no rain in there, that were dry and airs where it was walking, and he pursued it or whatever. And I think that's when there was a sapling or whatever that was broke off and it was dry and placed in the pathway. This is forbidden Terry. Don't pursuit forbidden area. Don't pursue it. That's when he turned around and went out.

Man, it was so loud. It's just and I know better, I know to do it when I have some kind of recorder on you. But I didn't care. Never figured that much chance to anyway doing that, But I I never was really out to prove it, and when things were happening, I didn't care. I didn't care about it. I realized later on that, my god, this isn't just about me. This is about the way who's introduced me to nobody believe me.

I would say, promise me, next time you go out there, you'll have an audio recorder and it'll be rolling the second I'll get out of the car. That's what I That's what I would say. But yeah, yeah, I need to do that. I just got to. If I can get it back to the way it was the way when I left. It might might not get a line Mike, get some whoop tees and whoops whoop away after they do it, get some of that stuff, but it won't be on the scale of what they held.

Is you mentioned earlier in the interview that you were using baby human baby cries for call blasting. Well that was then, Yeah, what is it that made you decide to use that particular sound? Oh, I didn't. That was Richard Gernwell's idea and it was working. I've talked to a lot of other researches, some two someone to stay under the radar, and I'm not going to mention but I and they've told me, and I believe that I know guys are freaking excellent at this stuff, and they said it doesn't work. It's called they haven't had any luck in different areas, different places, And I believe that they're not making stuff up to me. I've known them too long, and I but I think there was something special about this area. It's forty miles back in

He was doing it every year every two years, but doing it. And I don't think these things back in the area were just didn't know that much about people or stuff or wasn't familiar. It's like nothing makes any sense changes, but which means it sounds less credible because create goes. But I know they had for some reason it worked there and I didn't go. I got another whole long story. I didn't get along with Darwin very well. But I missed out the best time too. But that while they were back in there, they had all the quitted. But anyway, another story. But they got it back in there, and there was a component that wasn't there. They needed to get the tall blasting and there's no way to get and they're on foot.

1:36:55 It's forty miles back. So Darwin was in good shape and his buddy they hiked forty miles to get apart in Orleans to get that thing going. They were gone for a machine about a week. Yeah, it was a while. It might have been five days or some sorry, but it was quite able. I didn't have to check on it, but they it was a long time. That's eighty miles go to town and come back. Some really interesting stuff happened on the way. I'm not going to get into that. We could talk about this fact. We should do that tivit tribute to cut Will and talk about him. Yeah, but anyway, they didn't have any callble I said, nothing happened, nothing happened at all. But as soon as they got back and they put that in there, callble I said, and they had activy that night and for two weeks straight. Every night they got one of them on thermal energy and one of them trying to reached out from the bushes and took the new in his tent, pushed the tent down and help him in the tent. That was the last thing. But Richard was dying and he wanted to stay, and they were saying no. Start was saying, Dad, you gotta go. This isn't good. You're sick.

And Angelo the biologist, he's a great fella, just talked to him yesterday actually, but he and it was always loyal to the society and Richard, and he broke his ankle trying to get him out of the canyon. Richard to help get him out and get him on a horse. But because the horse has come in, I guess as to what, no, I won'er which I think had deals at time or love us anyway that checked him that too. In fact, I think they got anyone. God, it's been a while. I wrote a nice tribute to him. I want have to send it to you sometimes. All yeah, yeah, I explain as all that. But Diangela the biology he broke his ankle, and it was that night getting out of there and rugged down in the canyon stub to go to the mountains to get back to the access road. Then it was free. But yeah, there was an all of time getting out of there, and Richard did not want to go. They were having too much activity. But they went to Berkeley from there at the hospital. From there they sat him home and he died at home. Oh yeah, yeah, I can tell you all about that up in there. There's there was some fun times there. It's just things that happened actually, and yeah, great stuff. But it worked back in there then probablystic that's amazing.
