How's it going today, Jerry. I'm doing good. It's pretty rainy tonight, lots of thunder, so you might hear that in the background, but it's it's a good day. I love it. That'll be a good ambiance for sure. So Jerry, we were talking a little bit before I hit record, and you've got quite the background.

1:23 Do you mind sharing a little bit about what kind of things you've been into over the years. Well, first off, full disclosure. Like we talked about, I'm not a big book researcher. I'm I'm an amateur researcher. I've I've When I get interested in something, I will research it to death. I've just been always been the curiosity of mine. My background as a merchant, marine, a firefighter, IM a gold miner um. People today call it bushcraft. Back in the day, we just called it backhountry. I did a lot of that as a kid. Today, I'm I'm a professional chef. I switched careers as a professional electrician to become a professional chef.

I'm a member of life safety there why fulfilled duties as a first responder and a member of security. Outside of that, I that that's pretty much it. M And I'm nervous as I can be. I got to be crazy doing this, I swear because you know this stuff just so basically, let me take you back to that photograph I sent you of me when I was about twenty four years old, and just to show you I'm not playing around. This is me at twenty four and that was on Maxwell's Creek on Lake McClure in northern California. I was a member of about a five or six man team. We were amateur gold miners.

3:22 We spent a lot of time up in the back country. Because here's the deal. If you want to find gold, you can't pull over and just go pan for it. There's lots of gold out in those mountains, but you've got to go back where nobody's been for at least two three hundred years at least, you know, get back to where people haven't been. And so that's what we did a lot of. And I said all that to say this. I was in a place just east of Cultureville. If you look it up on the map, coult Cultureville, a very old mining town. I was back in a place called Odtown. If you look up on a GS USGS quadrangle of the Buckhorn quadrangle, you'll find kat Town right there. It's an old mining settlement. Ruins are still there. But I was up there on my own, as I did a lot. We used to go back and scout places that we could mind actively mind plaster mind high Bank. Um. Now, this is probably about seven miles back from Coulterville.

4:29 It's it's quite of ways. Once you get to Kattown, you park and you basically start working your way to the backside of Yosemite National Park. And in this area there's a big there's a big canyon right there. The Tuolomie River, which comes out of Yosemite, runs right through that. That's one of the one of the tributaries that feeds Maxwell's Creek. And I was back there just we called it, we called it Dincin and that just means go down the creek to see if you find you color, If we find color, if we find really good color, we'll all come back and work that area. Yeah, to forgive me, man, I'm so I'm back there now at that time again, about twenty four I'm about one hundred and seventy pounds. That's about a forty five pound rucksack that I always carried with me. So I'm I'm camped out not too far from the canyon, and shit, I'm the only one back there. I know this for a fact.

5:53 The road, the logging road I took in, used to be an old mining road. The Bonder mine is off that road. It's a dead end canyon road. It goes down by rattlesnake golds, and they're just dead ends right there. There's only one way in, one way out. And I'm in my tent and I've betted down some pine needles where the pine needles look thick, and you can find areas where the pine needles you're just six eight inches thick. I betted down there for the night, had this little old school boy scout style slip into it tent, and it's it's got I don't know what time it was, man, it's it's got to be probably like two three o'clock in the morning. It's definitely middle of the night.

6:41 And I'm just gonna say right now, I don't know what it was, okay, but it was clearly on two feet I know what I sound like, at one hundred and seventy plus forty pounds on those pine needles. Whatever it was was way way bigger than me. It woke me up. Now, the pine needles weren't all dry. I was springtime, so it's very you know, But I know what that sounds like. I know what other things sound like in those woods. And whatever it was. It came in from like the area of the road, and it walked around my tent like three times, and I was laying there. I used to have a Colt Pioneer twenty two long rifle caliber pistol. That's what I carried with me back in those days. I've had I've had encounters with mountain lions and black bears and ship back there, so I always carried something I could scare them off with. I never carried heavy weapons back back then. And I'm laying there with this pistol on my chest and my thumbs on the on the hammer, and I'm thinking, at that for moves, I'm gonna fan off five shots.

8:03 It's scared to live and shit out of me. And the weirdest part, the weirdest part of that whole deal. As I heard it walk away and as it cleared this little this little clearing I was in with the pine needles, it got off into the bush and it was making a little bit more noise. It was very quiet. It was trying to be quiet, you can tell. And but the weird part was it didn't walk like back towards the road, back where civilizations back that way. No, it walked. It walked toward the canyon, toward the backside of Yosemite, and that fret. I'm trying not to cuss, man, it freaked me the hell out. And at some point I finally fell asleep. As soon as the sun popped over that saddle, I was like, I'm out of here, and now here's the deal. Man big foots a guy in a monkey suit.

9:09 That's what I was told. That's what I knew, Bob Horonymous and the whole deal. And yeah, so back then, as a as a as a recreational gold miner, I'm thinking this has got to be a claim jumper. It's got to be a tweak or something something. It's got to be something. It scared me enough that'd be like, you know, going through my twenty four year old mine, I'm like, who the hell is out here at this hour of the morning walking around my tent and then walking that way. That's that's nuts. I never could figure that out. And over time, you know. So I packed up that morning obviously, and and got the hell out of there. I told Paul about it, and he see, he was like, oh, you know, it must have been a claimed ber or something. I'm going dude, no, this was a big ass claim jomper. If it was a claim jumper, because that shit still goes on back there. There's still plenty of gold back in those hills, and there's there's people that will rob you therey. Nothing you can do about it back there. This story is extremely fascinating so far. You had told me you're how old you are in an earlier email, and I just want to make sure the listeners have what time period this took place, and this was like early nineties, right, yeah, I'm fifty five now, so do the map I was, I was about twenty four back then.

Yeah, And so you know, we we eventually, you know, the group broke up, and I got married, had a family, all that good stuff, became a firefighter, merchant marine, all that good stuff, and and so fast forward to the pandemic. Now, I've been a political junkie my whole life. I follow politics. I watched politicians, but during the pandemic everything was getting so nuts. I was like, I'm done. I got to find something to listen to at work, and so I started throwing scrolling through podcasts.

And then I heard one This dude told my story. And I've heard people tell my story on your on your podcast. And what I call it is the tent creeper. That's what I called it back then, the tent creeper. But um so I start, you know, I'm I start thinking about that and that memory comes back full force. And I'm like, Okay, what the hell is this bigfoot thing? And I live in Colorado Springs and I've been up there, you know, I've been up to Pike's Peak and I've seen the big Foot crossing sign, and Bigfoot is all over this place. So I start kind of looking into it. You know, I'm listening. I'm listening to West and these you know, firsthand accounts and all the stuff. But then I start hearing from people that I can relate to a little bit, and that's like doctor Meldram, Bender Nigel, And I'm starting to look at this from a from a purely skeptical point of view. So I'm not looking oh crap, how do I even talk about this, this journey I've been on, um, you know, Barbara Ketchum, that whole deal um was just well crap. Let's put it this way. You know, Bender Nagel once said,

13:46 he said, if one person tells you to see the jolly green giant, you can dismiss that. But if ten people tell you this solid, jolly green giant, you might want to look into it. So at that time, during the pandemic accres, I had time on my hands. I'm a construction worker at that time, electrician not doing a whole lot of stuff. So I start I start digging. Now, as a as an experienced backcountry guy, I know that cartography is one of my one of my favorite subjects. So I know how. I know how animals move, I know how you know. So basically I start looking into it. Okay, So if this thing is, if that's what that was around my tenth that night, then we're talking about a mammal okay, possibly eight to nine hundred pounds bipedal box on two feet. Um, we're talking about something about the size of a bear, and not an inland grizzly, not a brown, coastal brown bear, not a not a not a polar bear, because that's actually considered a marine mammal. It's not actually classified as a bear. You got

15:18 the inland grizzly, the coastal brown, you got the codiac. So we're talking about something about the size of a codiac. Now, if this thing's real, and if it's up here in Colorado springs Pike's Peak region, then first thing we got to figure out is why it won't work as a researcher. Why wouldn't it work well? This thing's big. It's it's gonna have to have a hell of a hell of a calorie intake. It's gonna have to have the fauna, it's gonna have to have the availability. So on a you know, this is crazy, but just on a hunch, I looked up doctor Meldrum right, called the number on the website. He picked up the phone. Really, I'm not, I'm not. That's awesome, man, God is my witness on my children's health. He picked up the phone. I introduced myself. I said, look, I'm just looking into this thing, and I told him a real quick snapshot of why I'm looking at this. And the biggest thing I wanted to know is, you know, the calorie and take on this thing's got to be huge. Five thousand calories per day minimum in the fall, twenty thousand calories. That's a feeding frenzy. Now, you know, we need two thousand calories a day.

16:42 Now, something that big, it's gonna need way more calories per day. But here's the deal, it doesn't It's not going to get it all in one shot. Even bears will graze on grass and when they get the occasional elk, they're gonna snag it because that's where the calorie, that's where the calorie punches. That's called hyperphasia. That's a feeding frenzy in the fall that bears will go through. So when I'm looking at this thing, I got to look at it as a bear because that's how big it is. But we've also got this part about it, is it more like us, more like a monkey. So now we got to start looking at primates, large primates, high altitude primates. Now we got to get into Diane Fosse, Jane Goodall. So you know Fosse, when Fosse, and let me just preface this by saying that these high mountain guerrillas in this ancient volcanic valley, science back then said there's no possible way grills live in the jungle until this English, young English soldier, he was a military guy. Wish I had my notes right here, but he shot one, brought it down. These guerrillas were living above ten thousand feet. Science said that could not possibly be.

18:15 Now you got my curiosity, So you know, whining the clock forward there, and you've got Diane Fosse worked with these guerrillas for two years before the first one would actually break cover and expose itself. And the crazy part is if you go back and look at the footage, you'll see these You'll see these gorillas peeking behind trees kind of doing this number. And I thought that was really interesting because as I'm listening to this anecdotal evidence, I'm thinking, that's exactly what these people are seeing. I think that sounds really familiar.

So and obviously if you're if you're if you're looking at Goodall's work, you've got to look at you got to look at I'm sorry, if you're looking at Fosse's work, you have to look at at at goodalls work. And So I've got an article here I want to share with you. Mark Bird Saul is a reporter with the Huron Daily Tribune. Couple of things that I really found interesting about Goodall. What she studied. Chimpanzees, she chronicled. She chronicled the chimpanzee war. If you want to really look at something crazy, look at the chimpanzee wars. How the how these how these groups of chimpanzees in these different regions actually planned murders overthrows. I mean, it was like watching humans overthrow humans. Good All, Goodall chronicled all of that.

Once, while Goodall was on an expedition deep in the Ecuadorian rainforest, she instructed her interpreter to ask local hunters about monkeys with no tails. They replied they had seen such creatures, who said they walked upright and were as tall as an average American male. Now now we're going down the rabbit hole at this point, Okay, there again, big Foot's a guy in the monkey suit. I don't know what happened back then. But the more I'm digging, the more questions I have, the more boxes I make, the more I'm checking, So I keep digging. So now I've talked to Meldrum. I got a hold of Doug high Checks people.

20:44 Oh cool, Yeah, yeah, because it didn't take me long to figure out, based on cartography that where high Check was when they were up here was up in the Lost Greek wilderness, and that's where they were. If you go back, it was a fine I don't know what the heck it was. I saw the program, but the more I dug I was like, wait a minute, no, Hichecks, people were up here. That's where they were. We're gonna get that in a second. Is this this ship just rabbit hole just goes deeper? Now? I believe it was Monster Quest. They came up. They came up to Colorado and and what they showed a couple of guys on horseback and they were up there around like Lost Church area, There's Lost Creek, there's Lost campground. Um. What makes that place interesting is there's a creek on there that was named by the early gold miners and people that came up. That's called Monkey Creek. Really, and this so I dug on that a little bit. The reason they call it Monkey Creek is is because when they were up there messing around, whoever it was, I can't remember. I wish I had more details for you in front of me, but they said they kept seeing monkeys up there.

And there's a big foot store across the street. I'm in there, digging around, looking around because I'm kind of getting interested in this big foot subject. And I bought one of those uh Hide and Seek World Champion t shirts. Oh yeah, classic, yeah yeah, And so I go back over. I got the shirt, throw it up on top of the bar and go back. And me and Mark were playing foosball and this this young lady. I know her and her husband pretty well. They're a young professional couple there. And she looks at the shirt. She goes, nice shirt, and I said, yeah, I kind of interested in that subject right now. She's as we saw him, you know, wow. I said, what do you mean, God is my witness. I'm not exaggerating and bellishing. This is exactly how I went down. She says, we saw bigfoot and I said that's funny.

He's taking a pull off his beer. I'm like, dude, did you see Bigfoot? She said his beer Dad. He looked at me and says yeah. I said, come on, you guys are pulling my leg right now. They said, Jerry, we saw what we saw. I said, where'd you see it? They said, brought up there in Green Mountain Falls and not too far from not very I mean not. You could hike it from Green Mountain Falls to the big Foot Sign, which is where all the people are seeing the big Foot in this part of Colorado for god knows how long. She says, we saw him right there. We were on our way up to the place called Garden of edenis right behind Catamount Reservoir. And I was like, and she says, it walked across the road in front of us. Now at this point, I've stopped playing foosball. I forgot about my beer. I'm going, are you are you telling me the truth?

She said, what I remember was it took like two or three steps to get across from the median across the road. Now, so that that freaked me out. Now I go home and I'm like, okay, Um, either everybody's lying, yeah right, Either everybody's making shit up, or or people something's going on. You're going deep. I'm going deep. I'm telling when I get interested in something, I will research it to death love it. Man. I'm just saying that's what that's what, that's what makes me a good cook. Oh yeah right, I bet yeah yeah. Oh my goodness. So I'm I'm hearing about this area X right. Oh yeah, here we go. Jerry, all right, okay, no, this this, this rabbit hole gets way deeper. And again all my children's health. God is my witness. I'm not making any of this up. You can call these people and verify what I'm saying and getting this is awesome. No, we're getting way deeper.

He was he was born and raised here in Colorado. Him and his dad have been bow hunters as far as I can remember, my my my son, my two of my sons had rapped our squirrel for the first time because of Travis. He used to babysitting my kids. I was a single father back in those days. But they moved down to Venus, Texas, and he was hunting a lease in Northeast Texas. I wish I could tell you the name of the town that's close to that, But I'm looking at all this research and I'm looking at Google Maps, and I'm going, Wow, Travis is hunting that huge lease out there, and that's right there in the in the zone. So on a lark, I call him up. Conversation kind of goes like this.

And I said, yeah, as a matter of fact, Travis, that's what I'm talking about. He says, there's two of them on the lease. What he sends me a picture from Catto Lake, which is not too far from there, Cattle Lake. He sends me a picture of an eighteen inch foot print from Cato Lake. And then he sends me a picture of this little wooden structure like a tpe. He says, they built that because nobody, nobody who hunts that lease built that, he says. And you can hear them out there, you know. And I said, Travis, you gotta be kidding me, man, I just called you on a lark, just kind of looking at this. So what do you do with that? What do you do with that information? Right, the deeper I dig, the digger I deep,

Fair enough, the Deep the Digger ideep. Okay, I'm right, um, because I've had I've had some experiences that they would be like, no, we can't talk about that. Um hm. So I commented on his comment and he actually got back. He actually text me back. They'll not text me, but yeah, messaged me back, and I said, I want to know more he said about what I said about this bigfoot thing, he says. He and he was kind of standoff as he's like, well, what do you want to know? I said, well, I'm just trying to figure out if this thing's real or you know, he tells me.

But he told me a spot on not very far from me at all, probably probably about two and a half hours. He said, if you go there, and this is the same area where high checks people were, same damn area, he says, If you go there, he says, I've seen him. There's caves up there, they're there. This guy's an old el Connor. He'd moved back to like Tennessee or some shit like that. Um, and then I've ran into like two or three different people because now I'm wearing the damn T shirt, right, that's how you get just to see, just to see, And so I'm wearing the T shirt around him. I'm going, look, man, this is all I got to do with something happened to me back when I was a kid. And I you know, I don't tell you, but um, I've ran into at least four more people. One said he was up in Aspen h two occurrences right here, just outside of Fort carson Um and on on on Shy and Mountain Rampart Reservoir. So now I start looking at maps again, but now I want to see where the sightings are. And according to Meldrum, I'm going, okay, so what kind of territory are we talking about? Something this big intelligent? I'm thinking probably the intelligence of at least a twelve year old, a bipedal freaking ape man with the intelligences

That's that's too easy to So now we got to go into you know, the the homo genus, the genus Homo almost sapien um. You've got so many Homo ancestor heidelp against us right now you're getting now you're getting back into Meldrum's papers right right,

But I got her, but I got her to talk to me, and I said, from what I'm looking at, it's the siach or the sagoch was the was the youth name for this, for this creature. She said, it translates to the basket woman, which is ironic because if you go up into the Pacific Northwest, they also have the same tradition of the basket woman, and they would use that to keep their

There's choke points, there's bridges, there's ambush points, every it's a corridor. It's a highway system all the way down to Green Mountain Falls, all the way down to all the way down there to Fort Carson. Now, what's down to Fort Carson? Why would why would things be going that way? I'm asking myself if I was, if I was out there, why would I be going that way? Well? Number
