Out in the Woods with Ronnie and Dewayne in Oakridge, Oregon, Pt. 1

On the Thursday before Sasquatch Summer Fest in July twenty twenty four, Ronnie and Dwayne took me out into the woods around Oakridge to show me certain spots that had been referenced in their interviews, and what happened was able to be documented through audio as they were both okay with being recorded for the entire time, so you'll have multiple episodes coming where it pretty much documents the whole day. The highlight of the trip was not only experiencing the rugged beauty in the outdoors of Oregon, but also experiencing the dynamic of their friendship firsthand in a way that I don't think most people can really pull off. These are two individuals that have very differing

And I don't know why I've never I haven't been on hard just a couple of radio shows because I thought it was necessary. I haven't been in the limelight anywhere. It's amazing out to see him almost poop his bridges last night when he found out we were standing in in our camp. Oh yeah right, what? Who was like, what, we're there? We're we're this out there? Yeah yeah, I was. I was taking back. I was like, oh, this is the actual place. This is awesome.

2:23 Yeah, we're there, Yes, this is it, dude. Years ago, it's been quite a few years, probably about eight years. I went up to. Nault and several speakers and Cliff Berrick min of finding big Foot. He was one of the speakers. Yep, I'm standing in line because I want to get his autograph, okay. And when I got up to him, he looks at me, I'll see you in the bar. Oh so he he knew you from the old days. So what you mean in the bar? I said, O recognize me or no mirror? And he says, I'm more about you than you do. Oh wow, that would be really interesting.

3:05 I just like what guy I see on TV all the time. I don't know anything about anyone that's all about me, and that's just strange. I got I gotta stuff. Mark to get me one of them rutting energy drinks. He said, you leave an impression wherever you go. That is true. It's like you really do my crazy character. You think people wouldn't want to. I don't know it's where of course I'm with it. I just want to see what you're gonna do next. I I like, I don't know if I want to see it or not. I don't even know. He says we're researchers. They said we are, but he's researching big Foot, non researching what instand? Yeah?

3:48 This right, this is our research area. That's that's the line, right, yeah, our research Yeah. And then the bottom line is your research area. I don't want to be this is. Your research area. Yeah, that is so funny. I gotta get some gas. But I think we should uh divide up into some little groups and sitting a different area to catch on on something. Oh when there's more people, Yeah, yeah. I don't. It only takes a couple more people with this. What active pissed them off as too many people in too many areas, uh, checking them their prints out and everything where they've been and everything else.

4:33 I think they've getting a little pressured. I think you just went to the other area after, you know, getting disturbed, and that's all I think they did. They just moved away from there and went over there. Well, anyway, after you guys left, I was there. I stayed there about two hours, saying plenty of songs because I you know, that helps. But I got some signals I think from them that they were there. But they were nice, they weren't they weren't being unry. Uh So I don't think they're pissed. I don't think they're pissed off at me. Well, I don't know if they're pissed off or not. I don't know what they are. I'm talking about the way they were acting, screaming and hollering.

5:14 Yeah, they weren't at me. But I scared that, or maybe it was Denise scared that little one up. But it was after that we got I don't know. But with you guys are growling and everything else and yelling. They weren't at me. I don't pissed off at me, And that's all I care about. You want to get some I've actually got. I've got stuff in my bag already. Are red bull or nothing? No, you want me to so appreciate that. You want to stop the center market. You're gonna get something here. It ain't gonna matter really, okay, all right. I was kind of excited.

5:54 He told me that. He pointed up there, meadow up up and there. Oh yeah, it was a lot more open than too. But he said, a moose or not a moose, but elk came. He said, he's seen it. Looked he's seen something. And he looks up and this elk can stand right in the middle of the metal and it's looking around like something's after him or something. He said, Then it took off to the other to the tree line, and he says, this thing on two lace right after him. Wow, it's the Bigfoot. Chasing this freaking out and the right up there, right up there in the daytime. No way, Yeah, that's so close to town. Yeah, they come across these ridges, I know they do.

6:36 So that's a house up there, and then there's that like a cross up there. Yeah. Yeah, what is that. I'm not sure, but they could for the town they put it up. I don't know, but I uh, yeah, there's houses up scattered up there, but they they used they come through there. The people here don't even know they exist. Oh. I mean the calls that I made, I would say, good, three quarters, we're up. We're up for it. But a quarter of the people are like, what are you talking about? It was wild, like they have no idea. Oh. They I walk and I go into the saloon here, the pizza place. Guys called it den. Yeah, and uh, there'll be four guys and hunting gear on.

7:17 You know, people hunted. All their life. They've never seen anything. Yeah. Oh, if there's anything out there, I know about it. I mean hunt here all my life. Stuff like that, And. They'll they're one of them, all saying, hey, you found bigfoot yet or something like that. Not yet. Still, look, we've seen one fourteen foot tall right here outside the tree line. I say, hey, you got to let me know sooner than get up there and check it out. You know. They all laugh, but I just go with the flow. But just funny, it's. Just what's the what's the Is there an old timer bar in oak Ridge, Ronnie, where like all the old timers hang out and the loggers and stuff. Wherever I go with the old. All right, they're no, only no, this is it the pizza play.

7:58 They have the other bar up town, but it's usually not them guys. It's the pizza place. Yeah, the older timers. And stuff and hunters, shit, they go here more. All right, that's good to know. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure we'll introduce you to it before you leave. The Historical Museum was telling me. Actually yeah, they were telling me there's a group of old timers. They usually hang out. Every day, yes, to have coffee. And they're like, if you talk to those guys, they know everything to do with or with oak Ridge. Probably they're the guys. So I'm gonna try to track them down one day. They have their coffee hour there. They eat breakfast there, everything. When I walk in there in the morning, they're all, Okay, you know, they're just the old loggers that still get together.

8:39 Keepers of knowledge. Dude. It's for old people. No, it's just they're just old dude. I say, well, I won't go there. It's for old people. I don't like old people being around old news. I known't either. Bummer yeah, creekfully yep. Oh shit, smell like a little less yeah. I don't even watch their under arms like I do. I just got through it for you guys sake, because I had. I haven't done anything since yestery I figured out. You only washed. You're trying to do Bigfoot's daughter. I know that's not a thing I like about big But they don't care how much you smell.

9:19 They can't smell. You could they're smell. No, No, I have no problem with it. You don't have to turn on be Foot. They're not fussy. All you gotta do is cheat them with the respect right. You don't underestimate. Them, and and don't try to trick. You get a lot of fine. Do you not disrespect them? They're like three thrift stores in Oakrage. I think I saw like three thrift stores on the main draft here. Yeah, there's one down here by the Dead Storm for sure. Who was in there, you guys, that's where I about to have Bigfoot booster at. It's like the Jack Link, yeah exactly. And he's laying back doing like the Reynolds pose, you know, with a raccoon. We get yeah, in leagues, it's crazy.

10:14 I had to believe when he was. There and I went to the best store and he was out for a minute, so I stepped in there and. Got his pats with his guitar. I told him I tried to get him in. He wants to you know, he's homeless. I told him, I tried to get him in. Ok. I gotta remember that he wants to come to the festival, he asked me. He's all right, I'm tell him he's gonna go. Who the the monster Wallers? He's got more big Foot stories than anybody. He sees him all the time out here, So I don't. Know who's going Who the guy at the drift store, No.

10:55 The guy walking down the street just now with a guitar. He's homeless. Oh wow, these homeless people. It's like every one of them's got a Bigfoot store, and I'm wondering if there's something to it. I mean they see the stuff. Yeah, they live out these down in the woods a lot. Oh yeah, and they got a. Lot of details like it. Almost every one of them has got a story about Bigfoot and seeing them in the tracks. And I don't know if there's something to it or not. Are you friends with a lot of the homeless people in. The time, try to be friends with everybody? There you go? I love that. Told me about a third of them that want to kill them? There you go? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't want to kill him along with the party, just want to gitar and feather him in time.

11:35 Yeah, he's hoping, he's hoping in the back of his mind, he's hoping Bigfoot will take care of the broth. You never know, right, well, keep playing their guitar and uh. I mean that's the kind of people that maybe Bigfoot wouldn't have a problem when they know there's a problem situation with them or something. And right it might be more lax with them. I mean, I don't know, it could be just in their head delusional because let them are you know, ain't that coherent. Sometimes, But I mean, you don't know. I think it just maybe they may have something going on. I try to follow every loose HND, you know, no matter how ridiculous it sounds, because you're already.

12:26 Dealing with something you don't know anything about. Absolutely, Yeah, there's no experts out. I can't say, well, the cougar wouldn't do that or wolf wouldn't do that. With these things, I don't know what they're gonna. Do, right. My only problem I don't I don't know whether I'm supposed to run or I don't know whether I'm supposed to not run. Yeah, I know it. With a predator, you don't want to run. Yeah, that's that's game over. Yeah. Yeah, trial and error, patience, persistently. They scare me. They scare me too.

13:07 I've been up here four times in the last three days, and i've been since that happened to us. But I've seen that, I've seen the sweet side to him. Yeah, and you have an experience that must be fine. I don't know, and he still can't get in after months of interacting on the nice side with him. I mean, when they're nicer, freaking nice and they're reaching out. And I tell him that, and he still thinks, well, they're probably planning a big barbecue for you or something, and you're gonna be the dinner. So it's negative no matter what whatever, directly you go with it.

13:50 I try to tell him exactly, not, I'm not being negative. It's like, how you're gonna get close to something like that if you ever, if you keep think you like, here's. The secret, Ronnie, I'm not. Oh, that's I don't know why I would messing with these things. I don't know why anybody wouldn't want to get down the goods. I can get close to him on a peaceful. Side, I kind of do. I know you do. I know what, Dwayne, with the events of the last few days, what's the most scared that you've been out here?

14:31 Is it the original time or is it the stuff that's just happened? No, the original time? Yeah? What up? And yesterday it was nothing? Yeah, I mean it was it was intimidation and and even Chad he said, Okay, okay, we're going. Chad was shook up last night. He was, yeah, yeah, you can end. That's not a guy who's lying. What we went through. It was twenty times more than the. Man I can't even imagine. Uh yeah, and just just to know that they were like running up the side of that mountain with all like the animal noises, the raven and stuff, and how steep it is there. It's crazy. It just it. We'll point it out again, you know, see you good look at it, just because you can see the fire burn right up to it. So yeah, get a good look at what they walked up to get to and then surrounded. It's like, man, I never thought nothing like that would ever happen to never even crossed my mind, but it did.

15:36 Well, we've pretty much been through the full. Specif because running was sweet talking to them, well there you go. No, it's because I was repeating something that I heard one time long before, and it was a gratchy sound and I was probably cussing them out or something. I didn't even not big for society will be right back after these messages. I didn't know they were listening. Oh why, I won't disrespect them.

16:16 Like that anymore, Ronnie, have you ever used like Native American words or language? All and Chat told me a long time ago to look up the any language. Here that natives are that we're around here at that time and I haven't done it. That's it. That's not a bad idea. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I've tried it and I didn't. I got an interesting response later in the night where like I had my heart started racing a. Lot and I had to sit down. And I don't have issues like that. Ever. It was really weird. I don't know if it was like infrasound or what was going on. Where was this That was in Southeast Iowa. Okay, Yeah, that.

16:57 Was actually a month or two ago. And you have some kind of response because an Indian words, yeah, this Indian phrase and then you beat your chest three times. It's really wrong. No, No, I would never I think that's a common instinct thing with animals or something like gorilla is the course King Kong? Oh? Yeah, so I might have been thrown I might have been from the Indians. Yeah, I'll do it. Go out there and challenge him. I could have been challenging him and didn't even know. Oh my goodness, that's crazy. So here's the thing, Like I took my kid out there, so that an eight year old kid with me, and earlier in the day I was in the bathhouse and he'd stay outside and I was like, man, I gotta get out of here quick in case he says like, like what's going on?

17:47 This is weird and like someone something's gonna try to take him right. So then all of a sudden, I hear him say like, oh, that's weird, and so I was like, I gotta get out of here quick. So I go out there and he's pointing across into the woods and I'm dude, what's up? And he's like, I just saw something peek around a tree. And I was like, are you sure, and he's like, well, I don't know. Maybe I imagined it. And I asked him like, why would you think you imagined it, and he said, because it's not it's not ordinary to see stuff like that in the day. So I think he talked. Himself out of it, to be honest. Yeah, you know, he's such a smart, analytical kid though for an eight year old. But it's told a lot of people think that happened in the daytime, And well, I sure showed Chad there of.

18:33 That, yeah, yesterday. Yeah, they do happen. I was telling Chad when you first got here the other day I said that how. They can be aggressed he've been what we went through and he says, oh, he said, I've been through a lot, and I've been through a lot of stuff and everything. And then he coached up at that and he's like, WHOA. I don't think he expected that lot of him. Glad you got to experience some of that. Yeah, it's good timing. But I think this trigger stuffing it because there's too many people up there, and they know that what they're there for, and it's all the people going up there is for them. And I think somehow, maybe it's just a theory, but I think that because of the activity.

19:16 And the people being a gingent looking over their tracks and everything else, going to. All the areas where they're back and where. We had the experiences, I think they had a little too much for them. I think they. Wanted to like get the hell away. You know. Yeah. I just think they've moved all around their a cycle. They got out of that spot. That's all. I just that whole thing is one spot. It's acting the whole thing. That two blocks don't make any difference the same thing. Once you get the action there, it's gonna be the. Same all over there, that whole area they were in frenzy. That's the first time they've showed themselves so much like that and running and rowling, hollering, and you get to see them on top.

20:00 But they've never done that before. I think it's all this activity, too much of it. Yeah, it was quite cool. I got to see one. You guys create a head to a thing for me. I gotta go up there and sing him a few Beatles songs or something, getting. Try to get him, call him back down a little bit. Absolutely I can. I can go. Check that the other spot while you serenade your girlfriend and well, uh, we'll see how. I think that they might have been there, but they they was dead, quiet, not an animal or nothing. For over an hour. I'm playing the guitar quite frequently, and I finally last after the first hours got it.

20:49 I told him verbally out loud how much I missed him. I wish we could get back, you know, like it was. And I said, why just sing, sing, sing or something, you know, And this one bird starts coming off and he's singing. I don't know if it has anything. To do anything or its coincidence, but this one bird starts singing. I mean it was more of a hype. It sounded like a bird was really singing it, one of the you know when they sound like they're kind of singing. And I almost left at that guy, there's something here, animals, they're not here, And then. I thought, what if. That was one of them imitating a bird saying.

21:31 I thought maybe I better stay, and I. Stayed for it, say, for a little while, and then it stopped for probably twenty minutes. Thirty minutes. They started singing again, but just one bird, one sound, so I don't know if it was there or not. And I was there for over two hours after you guys left, and. Uh there was a twig snap during that time right behind me, and almost immediately uh in front a branch, loud snap, twig. Snap, and all one right after the other. So I think maybe they were there, and that wasn't an intimidate anything.

22:13 So up to me, that was a messes that were still okay me in them. Not that I don't care about the rest of you, but I may have to continue this song by myself. I know it was gonna have to problem because I may be the only one they let live. Yeah, you know what, it might be a bunch of little Harry ron He's running through the woods. And their last words will be gosh, I wish I was more like Ronny. That's funny. I dream it is, only I should have listened to it with the chocolates of the Romans of the sea. And the flowers and what was it blueberry cobbler? Oh yeah, yeah, BlackBerry call BlackBerry cobbler.

Yeah, that was the weird one of the weirdest things, you said, because they opened it up, scooped it out, was clean, and then they closed People say that too, They closed it. And put him back in the bag. Yeah, nothing a bear could ever do. It was eight feet up in a cloth bag, the sea through container on the bottom of the bag. They never that bag was still up there. I did take it down to look at it, and that container was clean. They must have lickt it. It was completely clean. And I did not touch that container. It was snapped back. It had to be opening and snapped.

23:37 Back and put you in the bottom. And it was still in the top of the tree. Wow, that's when I knew they were taking the food. But it took over a month before they had to start taking my food. Uh, that's how cautious they were. Yeah, that was a kind of weird. When it worked, persistence and going up and doing it, it would work. Next thing, I know, they're a woman and I'm as singing and we're just having fun. Yeah. Where's all the smoke coming from? Rot danger or. It's the High Prairie area. I think that's where fire is right now. No, it High Prairie is back.

24:18 It's all their rage. Yeah, they come down the creek down here all the day. Dwayne's been with his granddaughter camping here and staying all night. And the big rocks hitting their their water. Yeah really Yeah, me and my granddaughter take splash. I mean I couldn't have thrown the rock not far into the middle of the river. Standing on the edge of the river, I couldn't see nothing. And uh, me and my granddaughter went out, looked around. There's nobody. The parking off was nobody near. I didn't figure anything to throw a big rock that far. We still looked trying to figure that one out, but it was.

25:06 We were just in the shade, playing in the cool part. Of the day. Yeah, great, big splash up and you know, it sounds like a big road. You throw a big rock and you kind of hear it hit the bottom and then rattle up with rong, right, get your rashed to the bottom, And so I know it was a big rock blush, but they didn't. It is not far where there were at right, it's right. They might even didn't under which yeah. Yeah, it might be that. So I said there.

And from all general, we always we always did. We come up and live out her for a while and run them out on our beat and get animals. We had a great time on her. I was hoping she really wanted to see some milk up here, so I'm glad she got.

Just stand there looking at him. Steve does not want to talk about it. It's too bad, Steve says.

I don't know. There's just something about you anyway. Man, you made me feel at ease and I don't talk with people. Well thanks to thank you, Jane. I appreciate I thought. He was talking about me. I mean, my god, I'm getting a compliment. It's like I should have known better. Yeah, you're you're still on your dream.

I think a lot of people. Can recognize that like that about you. You're not pushy. It's not for you and your glory. I mean, you're really interested in this and you respect what people say and stuff. Absolutely, Uh, you're very good or whatever. That's worth coming for me.

I'm taking you there, yeah today, So yeah, Paul, let you guys make the call on that. Let's just go up there now. Huh. That's so nice. Yeah, it's they're not. In the one, probably the other one. You know, it doesn't matter which way to go to if they wouldn't, they're interested.

But what I'm saying is, you know, if they're roaming through the woods and napping and eating, or you know, if they're not over here getting what they're getting, they're over here again getting do I I mean, they're all right around and there. If they don't know that we're coming already, it ain't going to be long up here. They already know we're coming and where we're gonna be. They already know that. I learned that firsthand. That's one of the amazing things about them. They know where you're coming from A long ways. Up big for society will be right back after these messages.

I know that they already know it is, and you're coming from a long way and I don't know how they do that much less in their area. They have nothing matter whether they know exactly where you're at. You know, I'm instantly talking from experience. Oh well, I am too.

Between me and you since we've been here, and all the time you've been here, and we've learned a lot more and we've had a lot more action. So necessarily the time frame that's that the thoughts going on. It's definitely changed my life. Yeah, oh yeah, how could you. Get away from this? I think it's changed your daughter's life too, Yeah. Trust she won't even come into what we used to live out here. I mean, I get late off and you could, you could go get another job tomorrow's want, But I mean I'll come out the woods for a while, live out here. You know, if it's the right time of year.

33:10 Yeah. Yeah. My kids are out here picking wild strawberries and making strawberry pancakes. And you know, oh wow, the snipe hutting at night. Yeah yeah, we weren't. We've run through the woods in the. Dark snipe hunt, and we know there's you know, we're not really snipe. You know, but it's just a fun thing with the kids. We were just having fun. Why if I'd have known then what I know now, I would. Have not have done that. Oh yeah, right, sel the sun went down one night. So yeah, this has changed all of our lives. And I never wanted that to happen. I loved in my life.

33:54 Now I can't hard to sleep when I'm out here. In fact, I've only slept out in the woods three times since, and that's even been down here. Wow, you have slept on at night at some time, Yeah, down by Samon Creek. And then of course that night if there just you and the dogs almost made me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't like it. I just I'm nervous.

I don't think they were real new, but I wanted to look a little closer. Is this that that big unit? There's a there's an app you can get called the Merlin app, and if you have cell service, it will listen to the sounds around you, especially bird sounds, and I'll tell you the exact bird it is. Okay, it's it's a really good thing to have. Maybe all have her put it on. My daughter can do that and then see what kind of bird that is. But sometimes that's not a bird. It's that thing mimicking that bird right there. It's just that simple little yeah. All right. This is just such a beautiful area to be able to come here and just experience nature. It's cool in itself.

And then you know, we went over the other spot because we you know, hunt or the kids would haunt and would be out camping and and so then my daughter told Ronnie at the bar, and there you go, that's why we're all here. So when they were in here picking moss, they were just they weren't doing anything you said, they were just picking moss. They weren't filming or anything like that, right, they were just.

I mean it could be anywhere from monsters to biblical you know. Oh absolutely, yeah, Ka manned a monkey I just had.
