Solo Camper Locks Eyes With a 9-Foot Figure Near Willow Creek

A solo camper walks to the creek bank near Willow Creek, California—and locks eyes with a figure she estimates stood nine feet tall. Its honey-colored eyes are a detail Rachel says she can still picture clearly. What happened next sent her scrambling to pack her tent and ultimately driving 19 hours to reach someone she knew.

In Bigfoot Society Episode 1221, Rachel shares two unsettling nights in Northern California, including rocks striking her car and a cracked windshield. More callers recount encounters near Page, Arizona, and Cave Run Lake, Kentucky, alongside a secondhand account of a hunter near Port Renfrew who found his downed deer on a massive figure’s shoulder.

Hear the witnesses describe what they saw, how they reacted, and the questions that stayed with them.

Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer. For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the CaringBridge link in the show notes. Thank you. Hey there, this is Jeremiah from Bigfoot Society. I'd love to hear what you've experienced over the years.

51 So I'm Navajo, and I'm from northern Arizona. And we were in the part of Arizona I'm from. It's near a page. And we were wood hauling one time, and it was, like, late in the evening. And there was a little cedar tree, and I had just seen something, like, something tall and hairy run across into the, into the wash. Oh, wow. And that is, uh, on, it looks like on the edge of, um, the, is it of a reservation up there?

38 Yeah. Okay. Up by Utah as well. Yep. Lake Powell area. Very interesting. Were you able to get a good look at any details of the face at all or anything that you remember that just kind of made you think, oh, that's very interesting? I've seen the footprints, but all I saw was the side view. The arm was down by its knees and the fur was like reddish brown. Okay. Okay. How long would you say the fur of the hair was if you were able to remember or estimate?

20 It was probably like three inches long. Okay. Yeah. Gotcha. And did the fingertips go to like above the knees or did they go below the knees at all? They were like equal with the knees. Okay. Yeah. Interesting. It was like hunched over. Were. Were you able to see a shape to the head at all? I mean, you got that side view, so. It was kind of a, it looked like a pear, you know, like a, it's kind of like round, but like a triangle shape. Very interesting. How was, how was your, did it affect your emotional state at all having that sighting or experiencing that?

07 I did get sick for a couple of days. Oh, really? Yeah, I had like body chills and everything. Oh, wow. That's extremely interesting. So body chills, anything else going on? High fever. Okay. Those are the main things right there. Are there a lot of sightings in the same area where you had that sighting? Oh, yeah, definitely. Really? Really. There is an area near Page. It's in between Page, Arizona and Gap, Arizona. It's called N20. It's like a long stretch of road.

54 There's a lot of elderly people that live back there. My mom used to work at the store in Gap. There was this old lady that used to come in and Tell her story. She told her one time that when she was out herding sheep, like maybe mid-afternoon, she started to smell something like dead. And up on top of the hill in between a couple of cedar trees, she saw a real tall hairy man. And she just kind of said to Navajo, you know, just leave me alone.

38 I'm not doing anything to you. And it just kind of like stood up and then walked away. The people in that area, how did they view the Bigfoot or Sasquatch? They said the same thing. Just reddish brown with long hair, hunched over, long arms. Do they view it as something good to have around or as a nuisance? It's kind of. In between because our people view them as a spirit person, kind of. Because they can go in between spirit world and the real world.

29 Interesting. Do you know if... Is it known how they do that? Are there portals or. Anything like that? Yeah, I've heard of them having their own portals and, like, caves and stuff. And there was a story out in San Lee, Arizona, where a younger guy chased one into the trees and it just disappeared, like, It just went behind a rock and it just disappeared. The footprints were gone. The smell was gone. It just disappeared. Wow.

13 That's very, very interesting. Besides Bigfoot on that area of reservation, or in that corner of Arizona, are there also other creatures that are reported to be seen? Just.... Skinwalkers have been reported. Sure. Yeah. Gotcha. Okay. Wow. UFOs as well. Okay. Are the UFOs ever seen in connection with the Bigfoot in the area? Not that I have heard of. Okay. Interesting. Well, thank you so much for coming up and for sharing a few things about your area of Arizona.

59 That was extremely interesting and helpful. Thank you. Thank you. Have a great night. You too. Let's see what we got here. Howdy, friend. Hey, Rio, this is Jeremiah. What's going on, dude? Well, I don't know. I mean, I don't know if it's going to be that interesting to you, but I did have something a little weird. And there is a certain percentage chance that this might have been related. Basically, it was I think about a month ago now, maybe two. Basically, I live in a subdivision. I live in Florida. And there's this road.

43 We'll call it Road M. um road m basically goes down into um a dead end and it's kind of like the slightly wooded area i think the county manages it and it goes to this bridge that technically cuts across but uh what's supposed to happen is road m is supposed to continue uh beyond the wooded area across this little it's like a sort of a little tributary of the uh of the river that's there Um, it's really still not much goes on there. My sister liked to go fish there sometimes because it's so quiet. I never did because I'm someone who always likes, you know, to actually catch a fish.

25 Um, right. But, um, but basically what, how this area is, is essentially it's that river, um, woods for a little bit. There's actually a tiny subdivision beyond the woods, um, And then basically after that small little subdivision, which is like really skinny, you could– it's basically just farmland, fields, woods, pretty much until you get to central Florida, right? We're relatively on the coast. So it's like towards the edge, if you will. And what happened was we were removing some– Plant debris. That we just happened to have. Nothing bad.

13 It was just like we had some yard stuff. And we were just there. It was the woods. So we were putting more plants into the woods. That we just needed to get rid of. It was getting twilight. And we needed to get rid of this stuff. And my sister had to go on a long drive. With the truck that we were using. And basically what happened. Was we're doing that. And we're standing there. And we're about maybe five foot from the wood line. And we hear this sort of like twig snap, and my sister is like, what's that? And I hear it, but I'm a little further away. She heard it a little more than I did.

00 Something dropped something on the ground. It wasn't like a squirrel falling down and moving around. It wasn't like a random branch fell down. It was as if something, almost like a person, maybe 10, 15 feet back in the woods, dropped something. um something on the ground to kind of be like a don't come any closer thing uh-huh um and we were really thinking like besides a person what does that i guess possibly birds but even then birds it was too heavy for something like a bird or anything like that to be and this isn't again like the middle of nowhere and there is but it was that area is still kind of thickish woods and it's like A really still river and there's like mosquitoes. I don't know what human being would be standing like 10, 15, 20 feet in the woods unless it was like I guess some weird hobo. But even then, we don't really have much homeless people around in my area. I haven't really seen a homeless guy in our area in a real, real long time. And even then, I know who that guy is and he doesn't go anywhere near down there.

16 And it is– I know myself and some friends of mine who have gone down there have just generally described it as a weird vibe of a place. There have been weird lights seen by multiple people I know, although possibly that's contributed to swamp gas. But stay tuned if that's the case. And– um this also might have been birds my sister uh late there one night uh has heard some strange whistling noise i think somewhere she has a video of that um i'd have to see if i'd have to dig that up and i'll send that to you if i find it but um that would be.

00 Awesome actually if you could do that yeah. But yeah well i remember it was a weird noise like that and yeah i mean that was just a it was just a real bizarre thing i'm like you know who the heck is standing that far in the woods and you know even if you want someone to hey what do you know no i don't know it's just odd very odd and certainly a little slightly squatchy. Yeah florida is so weird dude like i get you wouldn't think that i get a ton from that state but i do get a lot of emails from that state and that's like Areas like the Green Swamp, I don't know if you've heard of that. There's a ton of Bigfoot activity in there right now. And then Ocala National Forest, I get reports from there all the time.

47 Just like wild, wild visual sightings in there a lot. So, yeah, I mean, it's a thing where, like, I can see how you would think that it might not sounds like it doesn't sound like super amazing, but it's still like, I would keep, you know, I'd keep a, keep an eye out for stuff down there. I mean, even stuff where there's like, there's, apartment buildings. I mean, there's still sightings that are happening in the woods around those areas. It's crazy down there. It is kind of weird because I just decided for fun to, after that happened, I was like, why don't I go look on the, because the only properly connected map I know of, I look at the BFRO's general sighting website. I know it's not always updated the best, but I did look and they're, interestingly enough, if you went probably about a half hour South of me and about a half hour North of me. Um, there were not, um, that long ago sightings and like, obviously you have some sightings in my areas, but they're from like the eighties and like those areas have been really developed since then.

06 But some of those areas, you know, they're not that developed and like, you know, some of these sightings were only in like, you know, 2012 or something like that. And it's like, um, You know, I wouldn't be surprised if this is something that can move around a little bit. I mean, it is a bipedal animal. Absolutely, yeah. Bipedal organisms tend to move around a little bit. So I wouldn't be surprised. Definitely where I live, it's like the weird split off between where it's ultra-populated if you go slightly west. But if you only go slightly east, you are in... You are in the boonies basically. Like you are in old farmland, old– not even that further.

50 That way you go into the woods and like stuff. So yeah, definitely it's a weird place and I always pay attention. I didn't see anything like myself and there was no proper critter to be seen or footprints of anything. So I'll keep my eye out. Absolutely, yeah. Keep me in mind if you ever experience any other weird stuff. You can feel free to reach out. I got my emails up there, bigfootsociety at gmail.com. Hey, absolutely, man. And yeah, you can definitely use this if you'd like. It's just a fun story, and I hope that assists you in some possible way.

34 Awesome. Thanks for coming out, man. You too, man. Godspeed. Hi, Falcon. Hello. Hello. Feel free to. Go ahead and share what you experienced over there in Kentucky. Yeah, the experience took place in Moorhead, Kentucky, near Cabron Lake. You can look it up and Google that. In 1977. Well, I saw it a couple of times, two different experiences. One when I was younger. I used to hike a lot, spend a lot of time in the woods. because I rescue birds and always had a fascination for rescue work and animal behavior, especially birds, was my passion. So I was always in the woods a lot, you know, observing.

20 And I was up on a logging road miles behind my house, very isolated. And on the way up, I used to hike up in this area a lot, and then we had a rock, a huge boulder that we would go sit and eat our lunch on every day. pretty much every Saturday in the summertime. But that particular day, my sister decided not to go, and I was alone. And on the way up, I mean, this was a tough track up. I mean, briars, steep, you know. And I hiked for several miles, I'd say. It takes most of the day to get to this point. So that particular day, on the way up, I had rocks thrown at me. At first, I didn't know what it was.

07 I was young. I was only like 14 and a half at the time, and I didn't know what a Bigfoot was. So I finally made it, you know, to make a long story short, not to tie up your podcast, I made it almost to the rock and had discovered after a few moments that it were tiny rocks that were hitting my back on the way up on my right flank. But then I saw movement to the left about, I don't know, 400 yards maybe. And I thought, oh, you know, it's probably a deer. Because, you know, I saw wildlife up there a lot. And so I was getting ready to approach the rock to lay my lunch down. And I thought, I really want to go see what this is. And then all of a sudden, something peered from around the tree.

57 Like a head. And I was like, what was that? Um. Bears don't peer, you know, around a tree. Or deer don't peer around the tree and then hide back behind a tree. Because this was pretty thick. You know, it was pretty thick. But up at the top of the mountain where the rock was, it clears out a little bit. You know, it's not as thick woods as normal. So I thought, well, I'd really like to see what this is. This kind of seems unusual. So I started walking towards it. Well, I don't know if it was a Bigfoot. You can call it whatever you want. Your listeners can make up their own decision. I don't know. It was a large creature.

41 It was probably about seven feet. Now, in retrospect, I think it was a juvenile, perhaps. It was quite large, dark, but the face seemed a little lighter than what I've seen pictures of. And then I kind of got scared. Then I realized something, this is not normal. I've never seen anything like this before. It's not a bear. It was bipedal. So I started backing up to go back to the rock and grab my stuff and head back down the mountain. I turned back to look back and I saw it moving away from me, thank goodness. And it was moving, you know, bipedal. And I saw how large it was. I never really saw the close-up of the face, but I mean, if you see a creature this large walking bipedal that's covered in hair, I mean, and you've never seen before, that looks very much gorilla-like, you know, then I began to panic. Because I had quite a hike back down. It took me four and a half hours to get to the point I was at.

56 So I was isolated and alone and no one around. And all I had with me was my deer knife, my deer hunting knife, because I collect knives. So I started trekking it back down the mountain as fast as I could, you know, really scared. And, you know, adrenaline kicks in and you just, you know, of course I made it back and no problems. And then years later, in my senior year of high school, we were over by the lake. And there's a place called Lakeji Rock that all the, everybody goes to, you know, on senior, all the seniors go there. It's just a place to go hang out. So I was with some friends, and they went on ahead of me, and it was right about dusk, and I said, guys, I think we need to turn back, go back to the car because it's getting too dark and we can't see very well, and that rock is a dangerous place. People fall off of it and get killed, and several people have been killed through the years. So I decided this is not a good plan. Well, they went way ahead of me, And I was like, OK, guys, go ahead.

08 I'm heading back. Well, just as I turned around to go back, they'd already moved way ahead of me. I smelled something. Very pretty bad. And I thought, how strange. And I had, you know, this weird, eerie, strange feeling that I had as a child. And I could feel like I was being watched. And I screamed out to my friends, OK, guys, come on, we. Got to go. But of course, they were so far out the trail, they couldn't hear me. So I started heading back to the place where the vehicles would park, because I rode with friends that day. And I'd say about 100 feet from me, I saw a large, very large figure. Once again, very dark. Of course, it was almost dusk. You know, by then it's getting pretty dark. And that's when I saw my second experience.

03 Yes. So, prior to that, though, I saw a TV show back when I was 14, several months later, and saw the Gremlin, you know, Patterson-Gremlin film, and that's when I realized, OMG, that's very familiar with the movement of the first one I saw. And then I've been researching it ever since, of course. Once you see one, not once but twice... Of course you're fascinated with that. You know what I mean? This is something that's a myth that you were told that this doesn't really exist. But you've got to really see it to believe it, honestly. I could see that, where people think that. But it just makes me chill to this day, just even think about it and tell you the story. It still bothers me to this day.

56 I'll never forget it. Let's just put it that way. I'm absolutely... Sure. I mean, if I had a visual as well, I'd be the same way, Falcon. Thank you for sharing what you experienced. The second one, it sounds like it was a lot closer to you, that second one that you saw. Did you see any emotions in its face? Actually, no. It looked quite predatory, to be honest. What were the things that you noticed about the face that made it seem like it was predatory to you?

37 The way it stared at you. I mean, it kind of looked mean, like it might be somewhat aggressive. There was no growling or anything. It didn't approach me, but by then it was almost completely dark and I took off running. I just started screaming and running. So I guess, I'm assuming it knew that the other, you know, my friends were out there and probably not far. And in the last three years, there's a boat ramp down there. It's pretty isolated. It's one of the last boat ramps that goes into Menifee County. And I was there a week before another one was spotted. And this was about four years ago, three or four years ago.

19 I grew up there. I don't live there now. It's about an hour from where I live. But when I was there with a friend of mine, I said, you know, this would be a really good spot for a Bigfoot. You know, this would be an ideal place that would be very conducive for one to live. Because I go around looking at certain places, seeing places where they've been spotted to see if this is, I kind of do what the other researchers do, you know, kind of see if this is a doable thing now. And so at this last boat ramp, I noticed that they had a sign up saying that they were going to shut it down for maintenance the following week. Well, sure enough, through an acquaintance, I found out that someone was there fishing around the ramp that was a little further over and who witnessed one come down and grab a fish out of the water. And I was like, darn, I missed it by a week.

18 It happened a week later after I left. I know the feeling. And I confirmed that. I missed a sighting in Oregon by five hours. Oh, gosh. It's rough, dude. It messes with you, man. It does. So close. Well, thank you. Hopefully that will help. I don't know. Yeah, Falcon, thank you so much for sharing what you experienced over the years. You're always welcome to reach out if you'd like. My email is bigfootsociety at gmail.com. But thank you for coming up. Yes, I've been following you for a short time now, but I love to listen. Thank you. Of course. Thank you. Have a good night.

59 You too. 73Hops, I'm going to go ahead and try to connect to you again. It looks like you have some interesting things going on out in Mount Curry, B.C. Let's see. Hi, 73Hops. This is Jeremiah. What you got going up there in British Columbia, sir? Oh, man, there's like so many stories up here. We're like we're kind of like 30 minutes past Whistler, B.C., which is a huge ski resort, Pemberton, B.C. But yeah, lots of open, you know, wild forests up here. But like so many people up here have stories. It's crazy.

46 And I work here. you know, like, on the roads and stuff, and I'm up all around, and, like, I'm always, like, looking, and I got, like, the Samsung Ultra, and I, like, it's a hundred times zoom, and I'm, like, taking random pictures of places, or you get feelings or something, and I swear, like, I have pictures, but, like, it's always, like, you can't really say if it is or not, but, like, just peculiarities, like, you know, like, it's, like, you see the trees and the bushes and the colors and there's something that stands out and it just happens to have the shape of like, you know, a head and shoulders and like, is my mind playing tricks with me or what?

30 Is it because I know they're around here, but, um, just on the res here, like, like there's probably like three guys out of like maybe 10 guys at my work where like either their grandparents have seen them, or had experiences or they've had experiences or it's pretty crazy though. Like I haven't had an encounter myself, but I'm always looking, I'm always watching. I'm a believer. I have been for, for years and years. I originally come from Vancouver Island and I was kind of raised by my grandmother and we've always believed in them. Like as kind of like a tribe of their own kind of a thing. And there's so many stories. Every reserve I've been to, there's always somebody that has a story of Bigfoot and encounters of people who've had personal encounters and whatnot. One of the craziest ones I heard was down in Omak, Washington, where an old guy, he was sitting at the table with us at dinner. And he knew I believed. And he was telling us a story about him hunting. And he thought he was being stalked by a bear. Um, and then he was on his ATV, but then he heard these, uh, wild horses down there going crazy. And he's like, they didn't, didn't sound natural. So he, he goes down there to this like open area and there's

01 four horses kind of bunched together. And so he goes over and, um, their tails were tied together. And, like, he's an old guy. He's, like, you know, like, pretty sincere. You just tell he's, like, he's not lying. But he's, like, their tails were tied together. He's, like, what could do this? And, you know, he knew of them, but he never really believed. But, you know, and then he started to feel like something was watching him, and he got spooked. And he just, he's, like, I've never been afraid of the woods. But that day, it just felt like I had to get out of there. And he just... burned out of there and didn't even finish hunting or nothing but like you know what could do that what could take four wild horses and and just mess around with them it's it's it's crazy stories like that that's wild wow heard yeah on the island Port Redfrew, my buddy, he said there's an area up there that they call Sasquatch Corner. And they're like telling him, you know, never hunt any deer over there. And he had been out his second night out hunting. And he finally, he's seen a big buck and he's like, I'm going for it. And he didn't realize he was at Sasquatch Corner. Anyways, he goes, he hits the deer. He sees it drop and he goes over to where it is and it's not there. And he's telling me, you know, like I

32 hear a branch break. And I'm like, there's no way. I seen it go down. It was dead. And he's like, what the hell? Well, maybe it's a bear. He starts walking to see what's going on. And then he hears like a breath. And he looks up and he sees his deer up in the air. And he didn't realize what it was on, but it was, he says it turned and looked at him. And it was on his shoulder. He had his deer on the shoulder and he just, he's like, Oh wow. Big guy. It's yours. It's yours. Big guy. And he just backed out. He says, I backed out. He says, I've never hunted in that area ever again. But, um, it's crazy. Like they're, they seem like they're everywhere. Um, you know, like down in the States, Washington.

23 No, they are. They are. Especially over by you. But man, I've talked to people from almost every state in the U S it's nuts. And like, to me, they're such masters of their environment. Like, you know, if they have that human quality, like for us, indigenous people, we have a strong connection to, to nature, to earth, because, you know, like our, religion, our belief is that, you know, everything on earth, everything the creator made has a spirit, has an energy. And that's why we respected it all so much. When you use it, you know, you do it with respect and, you know, the resources, the same thing, whether it's the water, whether it's the animals or the plants. And I always think to myself, you know, like if these Sasquatch or Bigfoot or, you know, if they have those human qualities like we do, and they're masters of nature. And, you know, we've, you know, we've mastered nature in some ways, you know, and maybe not so much since colonization, but luckily we've held onto a lot of those teachings and we're coming back to it now. But like, you think about them who've never had a break in that, you know, for like their evolution in time, they've just, they've always been there in nature.

50 They've always been mastering it. And, It's like, no wonder why they are able to, what people think can do magic. Like to us, it would seem like magic almost, but like to them being so immersed in the energies of the earth and, you know, living in the earth and being one with it, like they are, I really believe that like to them, it's normal. It's easy. But to us, you're just like, how are they doing this? It's impossible. Yeah. It's for me, that's how I see it. I, that's how, like, I hear all these stories and for me, that connects the dots for me. I'm like, well, yeah, like they're, they're like wizards of the forest. You know, you think about our people who used to, some people they say could shape shift or, um, they could travel like my, uh, my wife's great grandma, like they, the family tells a story about how they would travel by horse and carriage and they would leave somewhere and And they would, the grandma would be sitting on the porch, but then they'd get there and the grandma would be at the destination, which was like by horse and carriage hours away. And they're like, how did you get here? You know, and she would never, never tell them.

10 Right. Like, you know, like there's these old tales and, you know, people think of it as fable, but you know, there's certain connections and abilities. people, people can have. And I think it's the same for them. There's probably some who are not so in touch with them and some of them who are like, you know, the elders of that kind of a life. But yeah, I think, I think we need to think of them as a, as a kind of a people, even though, you know, they've, they've probably grown to watch us and not want anything to do with us. They don't want to follow our path and they probably don't want us to mess with theirs.

00 I imagine that's part of some of the hate or the anger. They push us away, but I really admire you and the work you're doing. I really love all the podcasts. You make my job entertaining. You fill a lot of hours for me. I'm sitting there listening, even though I spook myself sometimes. Sometimes I've got to go up in the middle of nowhere and I'm by myself. I just listen to 10 podcasts from you guys. I'm listening and watching all the time, but Yeah, no, I really love it. The way you guys help people too, the people who've really had those traumatic experiences and you're helping them heal. And I think that's amazing. So I appreciate you listening and I love listening to you and I hope you have an awesome night. I think that's about it for me.

01 Absolutely. Thank you for coming up, sir. And man, if you ever have anything you run into in the future, feel free to reach out to me directly at bigfootsociety at gmail.com. But I appreciate talking to you tonight. Thank you. For sure. I will. Thanks. Have a good one. Hey, Rachel, this is Jeremiah. It sounds like you had some interesting things just happen back in April. I'd love to hear about it. Yeah, so I was on kind of a wild cross-country trip. I was going from Alaska down to Texas for the eclipse initially. I'd left Alaska in March, and. Weather got in the way and got me out, and so I ended up on the southern Oregon coast for 10 days or so, and then headed down into northern California.

46 And I had two separate encounters over two nights in two entirely different areas, and hang on hang on just a second I gotta get my dogs inside come on guys hey hang. On just one second guys no problem come. On sausage run let's go in the house come on go inside alright sorry about that we're barking at the neighborhood here come on anyway so go inside please we were me and the dogs I was alone The first night we were in, just out of Jedediah Smith State Park in Northern California, right over the Oregon border. And I was staying in this rock quarry just off of the road wrapping around the backside of the park. And it was quiet and it was nice. I kind of felt a little funky, but totally fine. Not a big deal.

46 First night solo in a while. Then I started hearing things. And then, you know, stuff moving through the brush across the way. I could hear things across the road. And then further out, I could hear howling in the distance. And I'm like, well, there are wolves that run. Like, just trying to, like, piece things together by myself out. In the woods, you know. And then things started kind of flying into camp. And at first, it was like a stick. And then. And then a pebble kind of hit my tent out of nowhere. And it wasn't windy and there wasn't anything.

29 There wasn't anybody else out there. I hadn't heard a car go by in what seemed to be an hour or more. And I hadn't seen anybody coming up or going out or anything. So pebbles started coming. And so instead of. And we... got in the car, and then rocks started getting pelted at us in the car. They were just thunking at the car. And one of them cracked my windshield. I had never had a crack in my windshield before. And I got this big ding in my windshield. So I boogied out of there and stayed the night in the Walmart parking lot in Crescent City.

11 So that was the 17th. And on the 18th, I continued down the coastal highway down into Arcata and Eureka. And went to the BLM office there, told the guy about my experience up in the woods, and he's like, yeah, crazy stuff happens in the woods out here, you know. Wow. no way. And I asked if he had any BLM-free campgrounds nearby that he knew of, and he said, you know, you can go check these areas out. I'm not sure if they've opened back up or not. And then... So I continued down, and all the areas he had suggested were all closed, and it was like a whole day of driving around just to find somewhere to camp. And I got into Willow Creek about 3.30 in the afternoon, and I went to the Forest Ranger office there. And the lady at the Willow Creek Forest Ranger office was the nicest gal I've ever encountered. She gave me a bunch of old Forest Service maps from the 70s that had what to do if you encounter Bigfoot in the woods in there.

10 No way. No way. I've never seen those. Are you serious? Yeah, I'm dead serious. And, you know, so I like told her all this and I have Bigfoot tattoos and, you know, I was just excited to be out there. And she's like, well, seriously, you want to go check out the horse Linto campground? It's about 25 miles out of, um, out of Willow Creek and you kind of wind up back into the hills. And so I go out there and it's the middle of the week and I, um, There's nobody. Else up there. And I get out there and it's just pristine, gorgeous. And I let the dogs out to run around and we all, I got all settled. I got our tent set up. I got dinner cooking and a man and his dog had pulled up and it was like a really kind of weird situation. He pulls up and he had asked if my dogs were friendly and I'm.

01 Like, yeah, yeah, no, they're, they're totally great. They're on a leash currently, you know, just in case deer walk by or anything, but You know, they kind of go on and off and they're friendly. It's good. And a guy kind of kind of gave me the heebie jeebies. He asked me if I was alone up there. I always say no. Yeah. Red flag city. Yeah. And I always say no. Like, oh, no, my my husband's sleeping in the tent. I have two chairs and their shoes there and. I do the same thing. I have two chairs all the time, yeah. Right, exactly. So he goes down to the other end of the campsites there and starts setting up, and his dog is out running around. He kind of comes around his truck, and he looks over at me, and he's like, do you get a really, really weird feeling here?

46 And I was like, actually, no. I'm super chill. I'm super at peace with this place. But if you have a weird feeling, maybe you should go. Um, and so he, he packs up and he leaves and him and his dog take off. And so I spent the evening at this point, it's probably seven 38 o'clock at night now. And the sun had started going all the way down and it was starting to get dark. And I got this like weird feeling. The dogs were chill and calm, laid down, just snoozing after running around all day. But I just had this weird feeling to like stand up and walk over. And so I stand up and I walk over to the creek bank, which is up on, um, it's like a 15 foot drop down to the creek bed from where this point in the campground is. And so you're standing up on this river bank, looking down to the other side and directly across the creek. There was a, as eight and a half to nine foot tall, dark shaggy hair, and we locked eyes and I, I swear to God, they were the brownest, like deepest honey color you can imagine and stark contrast to all of the dark brown, black facial hair, body hair covered everywhere. And it wasn't unkempt, you know, it, it appeared to be well groomed. Um, And we stood

20 and locked eyes for what felt like a century, like it had just opened up its life and it kind of just flashed before all of my eyes. And then I all of a sudden. Just had this really, really deep sinking feeling that if I don't get the hell out of there, something bad was going to happen. But not necessarily that it was going to be bringing harm to me, that there. Was something else. And so, like, images of this guy and his dog are flashing through my head, and I go to turn to look at my dogs to see where they are, and they're fine. They're just laying there. They had no idea. And as I turned and then turned back to look back at this gigantic creature standing in front of me, it was gone.

07 It was absolutely, without a sound, silent, just gone. And I, in that moment, was so overwhelmed with everything that I snatched the tent off the stakes and stuffed the entire tent into my Ford Focus and put both dogs in and left everything. And what took me 45 minutes to drive out there took me nine minutes to get back down and sit in the Chevron parking lot and cry. Oh, man. But yeah, it was. It was absolutely the most insane. And I ended up being so scared. Instead of continuing on my path down to Texas, I turned around and went to a friend's house in North Idaho. I drove 19 hours straight back up to North Idaho.

51 Oh, wow. Just to be around someone you knew. Yeah. It was really, really crazy. Oh, wow. I'm sorry you went through that. That must have stuck with you for a long time. Well, this just happened. Yeah, this is in April, right? Yeah, exactly. Did what you saw, do you remember any of the details in the face? Was it something that looked more human-like in the face or ape-like or just a mixture? I would say a mixture. Looking into his eyes, seriously, I locked eyes with this thing. I could I could paint the details of the eyes that I saw, and they were like looking into an old grandfather's eyes. But then the facial features were so rigid and pronounced, almost like a silverback gorilla, but unlike a silverback gorilla where it has that leathery kind of appearance on their face, they were more human-like, almost. And You know, he was as wide as a big icebox and had arms that dangled down to mid-thighs and, you know, these incredibly large hands and just built thick stature. Obviously a male, had male anatomy, and I don't think he was the only

25 one standing there. I think there were others back behind. Um, how far away from you was the creature again? About 75 feet. That's right. Okay. Definitely a, uh, a really super wild encounter. So recent too. That's the crazy part. Yeah. Holy mackerel. Um, wow. Thank you for sharing that. That is, that is absolutely amazing. Do you think you'll, you'll ever go out camping again or. I actually went from that to North Idaho and, and accepted a role as a camp host out in the North Cascades for the entire summer and just wrap that up. So a hundred percent.

07 I, I will be in the woods every chance I can. I love it. So you were up in, uh, is that Washington or Oregon? Oh, it was Washington. Yeah. Uh, way up almost to the Canadian border up there. Wow. Yep. That's, that's amazing. Um, thank you so much for, for hopping in and sharing what you experienced. If you ever, have anything else weird happen to you you can always feel free to reach. Out and yeah absolutely. If you'd like so yeah thank you so much. Yeah for sure you guys have a great evening. You too all right bye now man that was great that was so good uh there's a guy with a There's a user named Guybrush Lethreepwood. I just have to say that, dude, back in the 90s, I was all about LucasArts adventure games on PC, and the Monkey Island series were incredible. It's not Bigfoot-related at all, but you rock the world for that username. I love the Monkey Island games, and Fate of Atlantis, and The Dig, and Maniac Mansion 2, Day of the Tentacle. Anyways, I'm over it.

21 But seriously, I'm going to go play those games now because you reminded me. So fun games from the 1990s if you were into those point-and-click adventure games. Hey, Jenny, this is Jeremiah. Feel free to share what you've got going on out there. Well, it's been years, but we used to have a long trail. And deep in this is the Pinewoods behind our home. And if you go out at dusk, If you were walking, you would hear just noises. You know, you'd usually think it was just a deer or some other animals. But then there'd be the sounds, the sounds you'd hear on some of the Bigfoot shows. And sometimes it would be.

06 A weird smell. Did it happen every time you went walking? No. But I'd say a handful of times over about five or six years, I noticed those things. What kind of specific sounds are you hearing out there, Jenny? More of sounds, the woo or whoop. Maybe some coyotes following it or around it. Do you ever hear anything that sounds that are out of place, not necessarily Bigfoot sounds, but they're just kind of weird and you're like, it doesn't make sense that I'm hearing it out here?

51 Yes. Okay. Any particular that you'd be cool with sharing about? Well, more like a snort. Like I said, a Sort of like a deer snort. If you've heard one of those, you know what those are. Yep. But a little bit different. That's about all. Once that's happened, I would probably just go back to the house. I didn't stick around. Do they ever get close to the house, you think?

32 Do you ever have anything hit the house or anything like that? Oh, no. No. Well, something knocked on my door one time, but everybody was having knocks on the doors. We think something Little children were going, you know, teenagers. Were going around. Gotcha. It's still an interesting area, that whole Piney Woods area, Texas. A lot of weird stuff that happens down there. Yeah, it's an interesting little thing you got going on. But feel free to reach out if you have any other things start to come up. I will. Awesome. Thank you. Thanks for coming up, Jenny. Have a.

15 Great day. Awesome. Thank you for coming up, Jenny. She's got some interesting things going on down in the Piney Woods. Hey, Shirelda, do you have any knowledge of any encounters around South Dakota? Can you hear me? Yes, ma'am. Can you hear me? No. I know my parents, they. Actually probably seen one mother. And a smaller one following them down over by Scenic, the Badlands here in South Dakota. Okay. And yeah, they were really kind of non-believers. But after they seen that, yeah, they know that they're around here.

59 And I have a couple friends who say that they have a Bigfoot family living behind their home. I haven't seen any, but I do believe it. Is that in the Badlands area? Yes. Yep. Oh, wow. You know what? It's funny that you say that. I've talked to an individual from the same area, and they have told me a similar story, but that the people are not exactly in the time where they want to talk about it yet. But.... I think stories like that are fascinating, and if the person's able to share what they're encountering, it can help a lot of people that are listening, dealing with their rest of, dealing with their experiencing at their own house.

52 If you ever are able to talk to those individuals, you're welcome to pass on my email. I'd love to talk to them about what they're experiencing. Yeah, I sure will. Okay, it's bigfootsociety at gmail.com, but Yeah, South Dakota, you guys have some weird stuff. You have Bigfoot sightings in that area. You have dogman sightings as well, I've heard about. A lot of haunted areas. Yes. We always say that ghost hunters should come on the reservation. They'll probably see a lot of different things. They even talk about little people. I have a couple of friends, too, that go fishing there. And they do see something or, you know. But a lot of them don't want to talk about it because they don't want to be laughed at.

41 Well, that's the thing. Yeah, that's why I do this show. So it gives people like that a place to share and not have to worry about being laughed at. They're seeing little people when they're fishing, you said? Yeah, they call them in Lakota, our language, wewilas. Oh, wow. So, yeah. I don't know if, you know, I mean... Yeah, my friends do. They see them and they say that they have like little torn clothes and it did scare them. So after that, they just don't really go fishing anymore. I always kind of, I don't know. I don't want to see one, but I mean, I don't know if, you know, if they're really real.

26 Or if they're just some kind of spirit. That's what they usually say. Have you experienced anything yourself that's out of the ordinary? Uh, no, no. I haven't. I haven't seen, I haven't seen anything, you know? Um, but I do, I do believe. Well, there you go. That's the, that's the first step. Right. And then who knows? I mean, the thing is, is like you start opening your mind to it and then, uh, can be tomorrow it all just a floodgates start and then it's like wow what am i dealing with here you know yeah um but it sounds like you're surrounded by uh you have a lot of acquaintances that are dealing with a lot of stuff.

14 Yeah yeah yes they they do see them and then they usually say it's just a big brother you know that's just around protecting them um they usually have There was one my friend said they were having a ceremony. This was out in the country, and they looked up on a hill, and they seen two of them, and they were just rocking back and forth, and they thought they were doing it because of them hitting the drum, singing, and they said after that they didn't want to bother them. Nobody bothered them, so I don't know. Yeah, it's just. You know, what's funny about that is I've heard a very similar account that I had to cut out of an interview because it's a very sensitive topic. But the person I was talking about, their grandmother was at a place in the northern U.S. and they had a very similar situation happen with a Sasquatch that was like pretty much watching from the edge of the powwow. And not everyone could see it, but it was swaying back and forth.

27 Yeah. Yeah, they say they sway, you know. Oh, yeah. So I don't know if it's, you know, because. Of the drum beats or who knows. Yeah. Well, thank you for coming up and for sharing a few things. And you've got my email. It's BigFootSociety at gmail.com. And you are more than welcome to share that with anyone that you think might be interested to talk about what they're experiencing. Thank you. Okay. Yeah, that sounds good. We have a good evening. You too. Thank you. Bye-bye. If you've had a Bigfoot encounter of your own, I would love to hear from you. You can send me an email with your encounter at bigfootsociety at gmail.com. I've come out with a free report about the top 10 Bigfoot hotspots. You can go over to bit.ly forward slash BFS report. I'm Jeremiah Byron. Thanks for listening to Bigfoot Society, and I'll see you in the woods.
