The Siege was Just the Beginning | Archives

Originally released: 2/23/24Harold Benny is a very interesting individual. He's an Illinois based zoologist that also researches Bigfoot.

What happened to him and his fellow researchers in Honobia, Oklahoma after the Siege at Honobia events of 2000 is an extremely interesting tale.

What also is interesting is the event that happened to him in Mena, Arkansas. It's one he can't explain and that I most definitely can't explain either.

Enjoy this interview. There's a lot to unpack from it.

with the show. All right, Bigfoot Society. We got the

14
00:00:40.799 --> 00:00:43.640
privilege of talking to mister Harold Benny today. He's a

15
00:00:43.719 --> 00:00:47.799
zoologist from Illinois. He's got a very interesting story, Harold.

16
00:00:47.880 --> 00:00:50.799
I'm gonna let you go ahead and take the reins,

17
00:00:50.840 --> 00:00:51.280
my friend.

18
00:00:51.880 --> 00:00:56.280
Okay, about the summer that I turned sixty and I

19
00:00:56.759 --> 00:00:59.719
look at it. This would have been two thousand and seven,

20
00:01:00.799 --> 00:01:04.760
and this was when I actually I called it the

21
00:01:04.840 --> 00:01:10.439
first bigfoot that I ever saw, Although I had a

22
00:01:12.000 --> 00:01:15.280
couple of strange things that I don't talk about because

23
00:01:15.319 --> 00:01:18.840
they are so strange that that happened before. But this

24
00:01:19.040 --> 00:01:22.439
is down in Oklahoma, and you probably heard of Honobia.

25
00:01:22.920 --> 00:01:26.680
The locals call it Hornaby. And some of you probably

26
00:01:26.680 --> 00:01:30.439
have read a book by Tom pal called The Locals

27
00:01:30.959 --> 00:01:33.079
and the Locals. He spends quite a bit of time

28
00:01:33.120 --> 00:01:36.359
and he talks about this little town and some stuff

29
00:01:36.400 --> 00:01:40.439
that has happened down there. And I was down there

30
00:01:40.599 --> 00:01:42.680
looking around and seeing all the things in the book

31
00:01:42.719 --> 00:01:48.359
and everything. But the last night that we were down there,

32
00:01:48.400 --> 00:01:52.159
down there with two friends, me and two others had

33
00:01:52.319 --> 00:01:55.400
had gone let's say, south of town more or less,

34
00:01:56.120 --> 00:01:59.480
and spent some time setting in the bushes and whatever,

35
00:01:59.519 --> 00:02:02.599
and we just I had to go northtown and get

36
00:02:02.599 --> 00:02:06.560
into the hills they call them mountains, And we went

37
00:02:06.680 --> 00:02:09.719
up a mountain road about ten o'clock at the night,

38
00:02:09.960 --> 00:02:14.000
maybe ten thirty. We started up the mountain road, and

39
00:02:14.039 --> 00:02:15.960
we had an old pickup truck, and I rode in

40
00:02:15.960 --> 00:02:17.759
the back of the pickup truck and the other two

41
00:02:17.879 --> 00:02:20.759
just rode in front, and we went up there. It

42
00:02:20.759 --> 00:02:23.439
seemed like forever, but when we stopped and figured it out,

43
00:02:23.840 --> 00:02:27.039
it was about six miles and maybe seven and we

44
00:02:27.120 --> 00:02:30.960
parked the car or the truck, and then walked up

45
00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:34.599
a ways and we crossed the bridge or went across

46
00:02:34.599 --> 00:02:38.719
the creek, then up a little hill, and I got

47
00:02:38.800 --> 00:02:43.360
bad legs, so I'm never in a hurry, and I

48
00:02:43.400 --> 00:02:46.159
don't mind walking in the dark by myself. Anyway, I

49
00:02:46.280 --> 00:02:48.639
was going pretty slow and left the other two just

50
00:02:48.680 --> 00:02:52.000
going up ahead. I got up to the top of

51
00:02:52.039 --> 00:02:57.759
the hill and I had a military grade thermal, And

52
00:02:57.840 --> 00:03:01.680
back then these thermals didn't do anything except let you see.

53
00:03:01.719 --> 00:03:06.400
Now the thermals will record, and they're a lot less expensive,

54
00:03:06.400 --> 00:03:09.199
but they're not nearest as nice as accurate. Anyway, I

55
00:03:09.199 --> 00:03:12.719
had this thermal, and I'd been up in this location before,

56
00:03:13.560 --> 00:03:16.280
and as I was walking the road to the Temphry road,

57
00:03:17.039 --> 00:03:20.520
I would stopped here and there and panned through the

58
00:03:20.560 --> 00:03:24.960
woods with this thermal. And I hadn't gone too far

59
00:03:26.400 --> 00:03:29.280
up this hill to the top of it, when I

60
00:03:29.400 --> 00:03:34.000
happened to see a head in the bushes moving up

61
00:03:34.000 --> 00:03:38.479
and down, and I just froze, didn't move, and I

62
00:03:38.599 --> 00:03:41.800
had the thermal on this object, and I just stayed

63
00:03:41.800 --> 00:03:44.520
there and watched it for quite a while. He would

64
00:03:44.639 --> 00:03:49.159
just head would deck down and then it would appear

65
00:03:49.240 --> 00:03:53.479
again above the bushes a couple of feet away, and awful.

66
00:03:53.520 --> 00:03:57.039
Being over seventeen, I know at least the thing was.

67
00:03:57.080 --> 00:03:59.520
It was only about maybe forty feet away from me

68
00:04:00.199 --> 00:04:03.240
for it all. And I got a little nervous, a

69
00:04:03.319 --> 00:04:06.800
little bit upset with this great, big thing that was

70
00:04:06.879 --> 00:04:09.879
right there on the side of the road almost next

71
00:04:09.919 --> 00:04:12.439
to me, and I had to stop and take a

72
00:04:12.439 --> 00:04:14.919
couple of breaths, and I thought, Okay, just had my birthday.

73
00:04:14.960 --> 00:04:18.199
I made it to sixty. I've always wanted to see

74
00:04:18.240 --> 00:04:21.519
something like this my whole life. And it started spending

75
00:04:21.680 --> 00:04:24.240
more time out in the woods, and I said, heck,

76
00:04:24.279 --> 00:04:26.879
I'm going to watch this. I watched it as long

77
00:04:26.920 --> 00:04:28.680
as I could, and then the other tree I was

78
00:04:28.720 --> 00:04:32.720
with they came back down the road at me and yelled,

79
00:04:32.720 --> 00:04:36.879
and I looked up. And when I looked up, this

80
00:04:37.120 --> 00:04:41.360
big animal that I'd been watching and disappeared. It took

81
00:04:41.879 --> 00:04:43.879
the chance of the opportunity to get back down the

82
00:04:43.879 --> 00:04:48.240
bushes somewhere. So the other two came down and asked me,

83
00:04:48.279 --> 00:04:50.160
and I told him what I saw, and I don't

84
00:04:50.240 --> 00:04:53.360
want them, I don't think blade me. But one of them,

85
00:04:53.480 --> 00:04:57.360
another one that had the thermal ad a thermal. She

86
00:04:57.639 --> 00:04:59.600
looked into the woods where I'd been looking at and

87
00:04:59.680 --> 00:05:04.240
she saw the animal also, so I had verification right there,

88
00:05:04.319 --> 00:05:07.759
which so I know it wasn't just my imagination. And

89
00:05:07.879 --> 00:05:09.240
if she watched it for a little bit and it

90
00:05:09.360 --> 00:05:13.600
was leaning against the tree, it wasn't hiding anymore. And

91
00:05:13.920 --> 00:05:15.879
finally a guy away where she couldn't see it either.

92
00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:20.079
So I watched it. I'm probably not full minute, but

93
00:05:20.319 --> 00:05:24.680
then forty seconds forty five something like that actually, and

94
00:05:24.759 --> 00:05:27.800
I thought that that was quite a while. But it

95
00:05:28.000 --> 00:05:30.600
just stayed within a pretty small area, just going back

96
00:05:30.639 --> 00:05:35.439
and forth and looking up and down, trying to look

97
00:05:35.560 --> 00:05:39.120
watching me, and everybody asked me what it looked like

98
00:05:40.079 --> 00:05:44.959
through this thermo. It was just completely bright white and

99
00:05:45.120 --> 00:05:49.120
there was no detail ready that I could see except

100
00:05:49.160 --> 00:05:54.480
this was big and white. We radioed and we got

101
00:05:54.519 --> 00:05:56.800
a couple other people up there, and actually we sat

102
00:05:56.879 --> 00:05:59.040
in the seven minute ditches for a while and just

103
00:05:59.120 --> 00:06:02.519
hung around up there, and it was interesting. We used

104
00:06:02.519 --> 00:06:04.759
a couple of guys that were backed up in the

105
00:06:04.800 --> 00:06:07.279
woods there and they weren't too far away. They were camping.

106
00:06:07.879 --> 00:06:11.319
I think they were from Kentucky or Tennessee, and we

107
00:06:11.399 --> 00:06:14.279
gave them a call on the phone or on the

108
00:06:14.360 --> 00:06:18.360
radio because we were on the county road. This county road, though,

109
00:06:18.879 --> 00:06:21.680
the hunters cut it over and they put gates up.

110
00:06:21.720 --> 00:06:24.319
This is back in the hills, so there was nobody

111
00:06:24.680 --> 00:06:28.399
stopped doing this, and the hunters were told us they

112
00:06:28.399 --> 00:06:30.360
were going to close the gates to keep us out

113
00:06:30.399 --> 00:06:34.160
the rest of the night. We called these other guys

114
00:06:34.399 --> 00:06:36.600
and we told them they better pack up real quick

115
00:06:36.759 --> 00:06:40.759
because the gates were going to get locked up. An

116
00:06:40.839 --> 00:06:46.240
interesting thing that packed up. They started up their old trucks,

117
00:06:46.759 --> 00:06:50.319
and when they did, they got howls from behind their

118
00:06:50.319 --> 00:06:53.160
campground and we could hear them. We went that far away,

119
00:06:53.680 --> 00:06:56.560
we could hear the howls or the grints and the

120
00:06:57.040 --> 00:07:01.199
wood knocks. It's almost like they were communicate and say, hey,

121
00:07:02.040 --> 00:07:04.160
we don't know whether whether the one side of guys

122
00:07:04.199 --> 00:07:06.720
is that these guys here are movement, they're doing something.

123
00:07:06.839 --> 00:07:08.839
There was a lot of movement and there was a

124
00:07:08.879 --> 00:07:12.759
lot of sound up there. Now, let's see, so that

125
00:07:12.800 --> 00:07:15.319
would have been time that all happened. It would have

126
00:07:15.319 --> 00:07:18.879
been really close to right around midnight time. I had

127
00:07:18.920 --> 00:07:20.920
the sidings and we had the other people up there,

128
00:07:20.920 --> 00:07:25.319
but nobody else saw anything. We had some some smells,

129
00:07:26.199 --> 00:07:28.720
but they weren't that strong, and I wouldn't really want

130
00:07:28.759 --> 00:07:32.399
to say that the smells were associated with anything else

131
00:07:32.439 --> 00:07:35.160
that was right there either, And let me see. We

132
00:07:35.199 --> 00:07:38.279
went back down to the truck and we got out

133
00:07:38.319 --> 00:07:41.800
of the area before we got locked in. But actually

134
00:07:41.839 --> 00:07:45.120
for that sighting, that was that's the main part, and

135
00:07:45.240 --> 00:07:49.000
that's about what happened. Just this last fall in October,

136
00:07:49.800 --> 00:07:52.639
there was a rise up of that siding that seven

137
00:07:52.879 --> 00:07:57.319
almost seventeen years ago. And I did a spoke at

138
00:07:57.480 --> 00:08:02.160
the Murphy's Boro Bigfoot Fest this year and I was

139
00:08:02.240 --> 00:08:05.120
interviewed and one of the guys that interviewed me, he

140
00:08:05.240 --> 00:08:08.439
wrote to this story that I've just told you. He

141
00:08:08.480 --> 00:08:11.439
wrote it up and it was in the Illinois Country

142
00:08:11.480 --> 00:08:15.839
Living magazine that is put out by Electric co Op.

143
00:08:16.839 --> 00:08:19.839
And that's where I thought that you got the story.

144
00:08:20.480 --> 00:08:22.759
But now it's not many. It might not be the

145
00:08:22.800 --> 00:08:26.480
best story I've got, but I saw it. There's no

146
00:08:26.519 --> 00:08:30.680
doubts about it. It felt like I could almost touch

147
00:08:30.720 --> 00:08:36.360
it from where I was standing, and it was probably

148
00:08:37.200 --> 00:08:39.480
it was probably as bad as close as i'd really

149
00:08:39.519 --> 00:08:42.440
want to get to one I've been any closer I

150
00:08:42.480 --> 00:08:44.480
had been in It's a life soon. But I can

151
00:08:44.519 --> 00:08:48.559
see how some people get to get the jitters and

152
00:08:48.720 --> 00:08:52.240
they get to feeling funny and they don't know what

153
00:08:52.360 --> 00:08:55.240
to think. But I consider myself to be really lucky,

154
00:08:55.279 --> 00:08:58.320
one of the lucky few to actually see this animals,

155
00:08:58.399 --> 00:09:01.000
see it alive and see it moving, And it was

156
00:09:01.039 --> 00:09:02.679
like it was a dark so people were going to

157
00:09:02.679 --> 00:09:04.679
say it was dark. You didn't really see it that well.

158
00:09:05.200 --> 00:09:08.759
I saw a pretty dog gone good. But actually that

159
00:09:08.879 --> 00:09:11.519
about takes up. Next afternoon, I had to leave back

160
00:09:11.679 --> 00:09:14.480
drive back here to town, and I was excited all

161
00:09:14.519 --> 00:09:17.159
the way back. I still get excited when I talk

162
00:09:17.200 --> 00:09:20.120
about it. But let me see, I think that's probably

163
00:09:20.120 --> 00:09:22.120
about all what I've got to say about that right.

164
00:09:22.000 --> 00:09:25.720
Now, Harold, do you mind if I jump in and

165
00:09:25.799 --> 00:09:30.960
ask you a few questions about that specific memory you have? Yeah,

166
00:09:31.240 --> 00:09:35.120
go ahead, perfect, just because it's very rare to be

167
00:09:35.200 --> 00:09:38.039
able to talk to someone from that time period in

168
00:09:38.120 --> 00:09:42.200
that location for the listeners that might not be aware

169
00:09:42.600 --> 00:09:47.320
of it, can you explain what you remember of what

170
00:09:47.360 --> 00:09:50.240
you heard about the events of the siege at hoh

171
00:09:50.360 --> 00:09:55.080
Nubbi that happened around twenty years ago in Oklahoma.

172
00:09:55.080 --> 00:09:57.799
It seemed to be. It was a pretty hot spot,

173
00:09:58.360 --> 00:10:00.399
and I think there's been a lot of stuff. It's

174
00:10:00.440 --> 00:10:03.039
been closed down. You don't have the people don't have

175
00:10:03.039 --> 00:10:05.480
the freedom to go in and out. I don't think

176
00:10:05.519 --> 00:10:09.000
I could even get up that road anymore. Of course,

177
00:10:09.000 --> 00:10:13.799
you go anywhere, and the locals have seen this these

178
00:10:13.840 --> 00:10:16.519
animals or heard these stories, and they take it as

179
00:10:16.720 --> 00:10:21.120
just an everyday thing. But there was quite a bit activity.

180
00:10:22.000 --> 00:10:24.399
They have none dumpsters brought in, so they had a

181
00:10:24.440 --> 00:10:27.200
portable dump, and these animals would get out there and

182
00:10:27.240 --> 00:10:29.519
they'd get in the dump. I guess that was pretty common.

183
00:10:30.360 --> 00:10:33.120
And they would get into the cattle feeders. They have

184
00:10:33.279 --> 00:10:36.759
great big cattle feeders. Well the tops would pull off

185
00:10:36.759 --> 00:10:39.200
and they put the feed in them. They would pull

186
00:10:39.240 --> 00:10:42.200
off the tops and get in and get the get

187
00:10:42.240 --> 00:10:46.200
the feed out of them, and it was just really

188
00:10:46.399 --> 00:10:48.919
real common for everybody now. But right there in the

189
00:10:48.960 --> 00:10:51.039
middle of town there used to be a little store

190
00:10:52.039 --> 00:10:54.440
and there was a couple of cabins from rent. There

191
00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:56.519
was a house for rent, and there was a campground

192
00:10:57.279 --> 00:11:00.559
and I think they still have their every I think

193
00:11:00.600 --> 00:11:03.960
they still had a festival down there, and a couple

194
00:11:04.039 --> 00:11:06.159
of my friends knew a bunch of the the work

195
00:11:06.200 --> 00:11:08.480
with it, but I have not been back down there

196
00:11:09.000 --> 00:11:13.919
myself for quite a while now. There was just an

197
00:11:13.960 --> 00:11:17.480
awful lot of activity. It seemed like all the times

198
00:11:17.480 --> 00:11:20.159
I had, not just at that area where I was,

199
00:11:20.679 --> 00:11:24.039
but all around the town. There was something going on

200
00:11:24.159 --> 00:11:28.720
all the time. And there were I don't know, three

201
00:11:28.799 --> 00:11:31.960
or four sightings around the week that I was down there.

202
00:11:32.000 --> 00:11:35.200
I had been out. Actually I was in Arkansas the

203
00:11:35.360 --> 00:11:41.519
week before, and then I was in Hornaby for about

204
00:11:41.720 --> 00:11:45.559
ten days, and then all my free time was up.

205
00:11:45.600 --> 00:11:48.200
I was still working then, and I had to get

206
00:11:48.279 --> 00:11:50.480
back what I shared done. If I'd had any brains

207
00:11:50.480 --> 00:11:53.440
at all and had a little bit more time, or

208
00:11:53.519 --> 00:11:56.240
I should have made the time, I should have gone

209
00:11:56.320 --> 00:11:59.960
back up to where we were and into the woods

210
00:12:00.120 --> 00:12:03.200
and really checked it out real well. But I think

211
00:12:03.240 --> 00:12:07.919
that I got so excited in everybody I think would

212
00:12:08.000 --> 00:12:12.039
get awful excited that you just lose your common sense.

213
00:12:12.840 --> 00:12:17.039
But since then, when something's happened, I searched for footprints

214
00:12:17.080 --> 00:12:19.440
and hair and whatever, and then see if there's anything

215
00:12:19.440 --> 00:12:23.320
else around there. But I felt pretty lucky that I

216
00:12:23.360 --> 00:12:27.879
had another person there to cite the same animals, so

217
00:12:27.960 --> 00:12:32.399
I didn't. But and that brings up something else. Sighting

218
00:12:32.399 --> 00:12:37.120
of that animal by just about anybody is so unbelievable

219
00:12:38.279 --> 00:12:42.200
that it probably cut me three or four months before

220
00:12:42.240 --> 00:12:45.679
I really believed that I'd seen it, and I kept

221
00:12:45.759 --> 00:12:49.159
telling myself. Finally I know, I saw it, was right there.

222
00:12:50.039 --> 00:12:53.519
It wasn't my imagination, and I actually saw this animal.

223
00:12:54.360 --> 00:12:57.559
But I've had a couple of other times, a couple

224
00:12:57.559 --> 00:13:00.759
of other sightings where one of them took me fifteen

225
00:13:00.840 --> 00:13:04.360
years to finally admit in my own mind that I

226
00:13:04.440 --> 00:13:08.159
saw it, and another one I really haven't yet that

227
00:13:08.200 --> 00:13:10.960
I saw it. I don't crust my own mind. I

228
00:13:11.000 --> 00:13:13.639
don't think. I'm not sure if what in my own

229
00:13:13.639 --> 00:13:16.360
mind is if my mind's making up something, or my

230
00:13:16.399 --> 00:13:19.879
mind crying too hard somebody. Some people will try so

231
00:13:20.039 --> 00:13:22.480
hard and everything they see or everything they hear is

232
00:13:22.519 --> 00:13:28.159
a bigfoot, and they don't stop and consider what's actually

233
00:13:28.159 --> 00:13:31.200
going on or what could be causing what they're seeing

234
00:13:31.320 --> 00:13:33.679
or what they're looking at, And the first thing that

235
00:13:33.679 --> 00:13:37.080
pops in their mind is bigfoot. And there's a lot

236
00:13:37.120 --> 00:13:41.360
of animals in the woods, and some of them are

237
00:13:41.360 --> 00:13:45.440
pretty fantastic, the things they can do and think, Yeah,

238
00:13:45.519 --> 00:13:48.720
you have to stop and consider everything else, and if

239
00:13:48.759 --> 00:13:52.240
you can't figure anything that could be causing what you're seeing,

240
00:13:53.360 --> 00:13:56.480
then maybe it might be a big foot. And that's

241
00:13:56.480 --> 00:13:58.480
why I try to look at it. I don't know

242
00:13:58.519 --> 00:14:01.120
if I answer your question or not. Went around around there.

243
00:14:01.159 --> 00:14:02.919
I think those are you definitely need to have a

244
00:14:02.919 --> 00:14:07.080
discerning mind, is what I'm picking up. But going back

245
00:14:07.120 --> 00:14:09.679
to Hoe numb you a little bit. So, you said

246
00:14:10.000 --> 00:14:13.600
you went to that area because of some events that happened,

247
00:14:14.159 --> 00:14:18.480
and it was talked about in Tom Powell's book. When

248
00:14:18.519 --> 00:14:21.360
you went to that area to check things out for yourself,

249
00:14:21.399 --> 00:14:23.320
it sounds like did you talk to anyone in the

250
00:14:23.360 --> 00:14:25.799
area about the events that had happened.

251
00:14:26.120 --> 00:14:28.519
Not especially the events from that book.

252
00:14:28.679 --> 00:14:32.879
Now they went past there was one cabin where there

253
00:14:32.960 --> 00:14:35.320
was an awful lot of problems and it was set

254
00:14:35.559 --> 00:14:38.399
real close to the main road that came into there

255
00:14:38.720 --> 00:14:43.279
from the west, and they were had bigfoot in and

256
00:14:43.320 --> 00:14:46.600
around and stealing deer out of the fleezure. And I

257
00:14:46.639 --> 00:14:48.519
think one of the things that they had done they

258
00:14:48.519 --> 00:14:53.200
had for some reason planted peas around there in the

259
00:14:53.320 --> 00:14:56.320
garden or in the yard, and the deer came in

260
00:14:57.200 --> 00:14:58.240
and like the peas.

261
00:14:58.360 --> 00:15:02.240
The deers were eating the peas, and then they were

262
00:15:02.240 --> 00:15:06.159
actually shooting at the deer and the bigfoot. See, they

263
00:15:06.200 --> 00:15:09.399
thought the bigfoot learned that when they heard the shooting

264
00:15:09.559 --> 00:15:14.200
at the deer, that meant that they were deer and

265
00:15:14.480 --> 00:15:16.399
feeding on the pieves in the yard. And they'd come

266
00:15:16.440 --> 00:15:19.600
into the house and then into the area then and

267
00:15:19.679 --> 00:15:21.440
actually was a real small area, and it was a

268
00:15:21.480 --> 00:15:22.480
real small cabin.

269
00:15:23.879 --> 00:15:26.639
Big for society. Who would be right back after these messages.

270
00:15:42.759 --> 00:15:45.519
But I guess that they even got into the figured

271
00:15:45.519 --> 00:15:48.360
out how to get into the freezers. But I thought

272
00:15:48.559 --> 00:15:52.279
that that was really interesting. They associated the gunfire with food,

273
00:15:53.039 --> 00:15:55.799
so it wasn't chasing them away, it was actually drawing

274
00:15:55.840 --> 00:15:59.200
them in. Anyway. There was a cabin across the other

275
00:15:59.240 --> 00:16:02.120
way where they had some things. I'll tell you one thing.

276
00:16:02.159 --> 00:16:06.200
There was one night several people had the thermals and

277
00:16:06.360 --> 00:16:08.559
the one guy called on the radio one night he

278
00:16:08.639 --> 00:16:10.200
said he had a hot one. He said there was

279
00:16:10.240 --> 00:16:12.440
a big win. He said it was up this tree

280
00:16:13.120 --> 00:16:15.399
back by this other cabin that was to the south

281
00:16:16.159 --> 00:16:18.919
of where we were. And so we hawked through it

282
00:16:18.919 --> 00:16:21.639
over there, and it was hard because there was a

283
00:16:21.679 --> 00:16:24.200
lot of rough ground in this one area. We got

284
00:16:24.240 --> 00:16:27.360
over there. What we found out is that he was

285
00:16:27.399 --> 00:16:30.440
sitting back in there and he was looking up a

286
00:16:30.480 --> 00:16:33.960
power pole into a transformer, and he was picking up

287
00:16:34.000 --> 00:16:35.840
all the heat off the transformer, and he thought we

288
00:16:35.879 --> 00:16:38.200
had a big foot up a pole. So that's just

289
00:16:38.240 --> 00:16:42.519
one of the things that can happen. I'm mistaken, and

290
00:16:42.559 --> 00:16:45.399
everybody jumped to it and figured they had something up there,

291
00:16:45.799 --> 00:16:47.600
but they didn't. They were just a transformer.

292
00:16:48.159 --> 00:16:51.120
That's just a great example about you. You have people

293
00:16:51.200 --> 00:16:54.840
that are probably extremely amped up about those events you

294
00:16:54.879 --> 00:16:57.919
were talking about. That is the siege at ho Nubby

295
00:16:58.200 --> 00:17:00.879
that people had probably heard about before. That's what you

296
00:17:00.919 --> 00:17:03.720
were referring to with the big Foot trying to get

297
00:17:03.720 --> 00:17:07.240
the deer out of the refrigerators that were on the

298
00:17:07.279 --> 00:17:09.880
cabin porch. I believe is how the story goes. But

299
00:17:10.359 --> 00:17:13.440
do you remember I think there were some investigators that

300
00:17:13.480 --> 00:17:16.359
were sent to check it out, and do you remember

301
00:17:16.359 --> 00:17:18.799
what happened to the Bigfoot at the end. I don't

302
00:17:18.799 --> 00:17:22.200
know if the whole story exists in any one location.

303
00:17:22.599 --> 00:17:23.200
I guess I could.

304
00:17:24.079 --> 00:17:27.240
Yeah, I had it to be, and this Tom pouts

305
00:17:27.240 --> 00:17:31.119
will it would be as much as anything beginning of what.

306
00:17:31.240 --> 00:17:35.240
I haven't reviewed it or looked at it. I really

307
00:17:35.279 --> 00:17:38.039
don't know how how it ended up. How it is

308
00:17:38.240 --> 00:17:40.599
much later, but I think that they did drive them off.

309
00:17:40.799 --> 00:17:44.319
I think I heard on a rumor or not that

310
00:17:44.480 --> 00:17:48.799
a truck driver had seen one of the bigfoots that

311
00:17:48.799 --> 00:17:51.720
had been shot trying to make it back up the

312
00:17:52.359 --> 00:17:56.640
woods and straight south from there was a small hill

313
00:17:56.720 --> 00:17:59.480
and again they call it a mountain. But I really

314
00:17:59.480 --> 00:18:02.720
don't know, but I'll finally happened there after that. I

315
00:18:02.839 --> 00:18:05.240
suld have probably looked it up and reviewed that. It's

316
00:18:05.359 --> 00:18:07.359
just been a long time since I've read that. And

317
00:18:07.440 --> 00:18:09.400
like I said, I've been seventeen years since this all

318
00:18:09.400 --> 00:18:10.000
happened to me.

319
00:18:11.400 --> 00:18:14.480
Harold, Who were the individuals that you were with? Do

320
00:18:14.480 --> 00:18:17.079
you remember the individuals you were with when you were

321
00:18:17.359 --> 00:18:20.279
out in the woods and you saw that head bobbing

322
00:18:20.359 --> 00:18:20.920
up and down?

323
00:18:21.640 --> 00:18:25.160
Yeah, and I don't really use name one. The one

324
00:18:25.240 --> 00:18:29.720
girl that saw it. Also, she's passed away with cancer. Okay, sure,

325
00:18:29.759 --> 00:18:32.119
she was a girl from She was a girl from Indiana,

326
00:18:32.880 --> 00:18:37.160
real smart gall And then there's guy from Texas and

327
00:18:37.640 --> 00:18:41.480
he still works in the area, and he supposedly had

328
00:18:41.559 --> 00:18:44.039
a lot of sightings there. And I won't use his

329
00:18:44.160 --> 00:18:46.240
name either, because I don't want to draw any heat

330
00:18:46.279 --> 00:18:49.680
down on them. I don't use names too often. I

331
00:18:49.920 --> 00:18:52.319
don't even like to people say Okay.

332
00:18:52.839 --> 00:18:53.519
I respect that.

333
00:18:53.640 --> 00:18:58.640
Yeah, but and that really one reason is that I

334
00:18:58.680 --> 00:19:01.599
get as much information and as I get, even right

335
00:19:01.640 --> 00:19:06.440
here in Illinois, because people that I were going to

336
00:19:06.480 --> 00:19:09.000
work with before they know I'm not gonna that I

337
00:19:09.079 --> 00:19:11.119
might want to tell I'm not want to tell the story,

338
00:19:11.720 --> 00:19:14.519
but I'm not going to say who they were, are

339
00:19:14.599 --> 00:19:18.279
exactly where they were, because we don't need we don't

340
00:19:18.319 --> 00:19:22.640
need people running through their fields and the people bothered them.

341
00:19:23.160 --> 00:19:25.079
So I kind of lay away from that, and that

342
00:19:25.240 --> 00:19:27.720
maybe takes away from some of some people believe in

343
00:19:27.759 --> 00:19:30.599
some of the stories. But then that's that's too bad.

344
00:19:30.640 --> 00:19:32.319
I wouldn't have the stories at all if I didn't

345
00:19:32.359 --> 00:19:33.319
do it that way, I don't.

346
00:19:33.200 --> 00:19:36.240
Think, and I agree that's I think that's the right

347
00:19:36.279 --> 00:19:38.440
way to do it. You need to be respectful of

348
00:19:38.440 --> 00:19:42.640
people's privacy. And I've had plenty of stories where the

349
00:19:42.680 --> 00:19:45.279
person it gets out they had a big foot on

350
00:19:45.319 --> 00:19:48.359
their property and that it's reporters and reporters it's back

351
00:19:48.359 --> 00:19:50.960
in the seventies, But yeah, you have to be careful

352
00:19:51.119 --> 00:19:55.160
sometimes what info you get out. But thank you for

353
00:19:55.200 --> 00:19:58.640
talking about the siege at O Nabi and what you

354
00:19:58.759 --> 00:20:02.480
experienced after that time for a bit there, Harold, do

355
00:20:02.559 --> 00:20:05.039
you mind if we take a little of a step back,

356
00:20:05.160 --> 00:20:07.599
and we were talking before the show that you've been

357
00:20:07.640 --> 00:20:11.200
into Bigfoot for an extremely long time, and do you

358
00:20:11.200 --> 00:20:13.039
mind if we take it all the way back to

359
00:20:13.119 --> 00:20:16.839
the beginning and share what you remember from the very

360
00:20:16.880 --> 00:20:18.960
early days and then go from there.

361
00:20:19.160 --> 00:20:21.279
I was born in forty seven, so I've been around

362
00:20:21.279 --> 00:20:26.079
a long time. I hope to be around why yet,

363
00:20:26.559 --> 00:20:28.759
But before I was ten, maybe by the time I

364
00:20:28.880 --> 00:20:32.279
was ad, I can remember my dad used to bring

365
00:20:32.359 --> 00:20:37.039
home a newspaper, clippings, magazine clippings, things like that. They

366
00:20:37.039 --> 00:20:42.960
would talk about somebody somewhere all this caveman or somebody

367
00:20:42.960 --> 00:20:46.400
somewhere saw this ape or whatever. They didn't have a

368
00:20:46.480 --> 00:20:49.920
name for yet, and of course there's been stories going

369
00:20:49.960 --> 00:20:53.160
back to I think the seventeen hundreds. But he would

370
00:20:53.160 --> 00:20:57.200
bring stuff like that home, and he was a pretty

371
00:20:57.240 --> 00:20:59.759
smart guy. He worked as he didn't have a degree,

372
00:20:59.799 --> 00:21:02.880
but worked as a chemist, and he would just always

373
00:21:02.920 --> 00:21:05.599
tell me then all this, this is true. We don't

374
00:21:05.599 --> 00:21:08.279
know anything about this. This is really what it is.

375
00:21:09.400 --> 00:21:12.440
But keep an open mind, because if if, if you

376
00:21:12.519 --> 00:21:14.839
don't keep an open mind, you're never going to learn anything.

377
00:21:15.960 --> 00:21:18.880
And so I was, so I was brought up that way,

378
00:21:19.039 --> 00:21:22.680
keep an open mind. And so he would, I remember,

379
00:21:22.640 --> 00:21:25.039
if we threw out Miami triality, he would bring stuff

380
00:21:25.079 --> 00:21:28.559
home like that. And then I finally finally forgot about

381
00:21:28.599 --> 00:21:30.400
it when I got a bit older and got through

382
00:21:30.480 --> 00:21:34.839
high school and got through college, and oh, I'm not

383
00:21:34.880 --> 00:21:38.319
sure how well I was, and I finally realized that, hey,

384
00:21:38.359 --> 00:21:41.559
there's well the Internet and everything. There's a lot of

385
00:21:41.559 --> 00:21:46.559
people gathering a lot of information. And I figured I

386
00:21:46.559 --> 00:21:49.319
would just start looking and seeing what was out there.

387
00:21:49.960 --> 00:21:53.839
And I found hundreds and hundreds of books, and so

388
00:21:53.880 --> 00:21:56.680
I got back into it. Then there were when I

389
00:21:56.720 --> 00:22:00.400
was a little bit older, and like a lot of people,

390
00:22:00.519 --> 00:22:04.680
I ended up getting divorced and then I went paralyzed.

391
00:22:05.640 --> 00:22:09.759
And I recovered from that, and I started and started

392
00:22:09.759 --> 00:22:13.279
taking some trips and talking to some people and build

393
00:22:13.359 --> 00:22:16.359
up a heck of a library. And this is the thing.

394
00:22:16.519 --> 00:22:21.480
If you want to learn anything, or research anything or whatever,

395
00:22:22.240 --> 00:22:24.720
you need to read everything that's out there and find

396
00:22:24.720 --> 00:22:28.000
out what's been done and what's been done before you

397
00:22:28.039 --> 00:22:31.160
start munching around yourself, because there's no need to repeat

398
00:22:31.200 --> 00:22:35.799
everything that's been done. And I learned fight a bit,

399
00:22:35.920 --> 00:22:38.279
and then I got hooked up for a few years

400
00:22:38.279 --> 00:22:41.680
with a BFRO. I was investigator for a few years them,

401
00:22:42.359 --> 00:22:44.359
and then I started leading some of my own small

402
00:22:44.400 --> 00:22:48.960
groups and things in Illinois here and the things just

403
00:22:49.160 --> 00:22:52.920
build up from there. Let me say, but anyway, I've

404
00:22:52.960 --> 00:22:56.920
I've had my mind on whether or not this animal

405
00:22:57.000 --> 00:23:00.960
exists for a long time. And my dad passed away

406
00:23:01.000 --> 00:23:04.000
in ninety nine, and that sighting was about two thousand

407
00:23:04.039 --> 00:23:07.160
and seven, that sighting I've told you about. And I'd

408
00:23:07.200 --> 00:23:10.920
just give anything if he was still around, and I

409
00:23:10.920 --> 00:23:13.279
could go over and tell him about the things I've

410
00:23:13.319 --> 00:23:17.279
seen and the things that I know I've seen, and

411
00:23:18.039 --> 00:23:20.839
just to let him just to let him know that

412
00:23:21.599 --> 00:23:24.400
there are things out there. But I think he'd really

413
00:23:24.519 --> 00:23:28.599
enjoy he'd really enjoy finding out. And I found that

414
00:23:28.640 --> 00:23:31.079
over the years, I've had quite a few friends, and

415
00:23:31.279 --> 00:23:34.400
I was able to separate out my good friends. I

416
00:23:34.559 --> 00:23:36.880
tell them some of these stories to say I saw

417
00:23:36.880 --> 00:23:41.400
it myself, and my good friends would say that if

418
00:23:41.440 --> 00:23:43.839
you saw it, I believe it. And I taught school

419
00:23:43.880 --> 00:23:47.279
for about five six years too, And now that was

420
00:23:47.440 --> 00:23:50.759
before I started doing too much of this stuff that

421
00:23:51.000 --> 00:23:53.519
I've had ex students who they tell me the same thing,

422
00:23:53.559 --> 00:23:56.079
get in touch with me and and they said, I

423
00:23:56.160 --> 00:24:01.519
always worrying about that animal. You actually saw it. That's yeah,

424
00:24:01.640 --> 00:24:05.200
I actually saw it and I know it's there. And

425
00:24:05.279 --> 00:24:06.960
they said, and I tell them, I said, if you

426
00:24:07.000 --> 00:24:08.759
want to go out me sometime, I could take you

427
00:24:08.799 --> 00:24:11.160
if you want to go. And I said, no, if

428
00:24:11.200 --> 00:24:12.759
you say it's there, I don't really want to go.

429
00:24:13.480 --> 00:24:16.799
And a lot of people are interested that they don't

430
00:24:16.839 --> 00:24:19.240
want to go out at night and set in the

431
00:24:19.279 --> 00:24:23.519
field by themselves. And I didn't understand that I answered

432
00:24:23.519 --> 00:24:24.279
that question and not.

433
00:24:24.279 --> 00:24:27.400
Either Rich I would say, you did. We talked earlier

434
00:24:27.559 --> 00:24:31.319
that you are you consider you went to school for

435
00:24:31.400 --> 00:24:35.240
being a zoologist. I'm very curious, so your viewpoint as

436
00:24:35.240 --> 00:24:39.039
a zoologist. How does a zoologist look at the creature

437
00:24:39.119 --> 00:24:39.920
called bigfoot.

438
00:24:40.559 --> 00:24:42.559
I'd say most of them just think it's a bunch

439
00:24:42.559 --> 00:24:46.720
of malarkey. Now i've talked to them just recently from

440
00:24:46.720 --> 00:24:50.920
around the country that they're in the BFRO and there's

441
00:24:50.960 --> 00:24:54.680
a lot of people that just don't know. And if

442
00:24:54.720 --> 00:24:58.480
I hadn't seen it, I'm going to say more than once,

443
00:24:59.200 --> 00:25:03.920
I couldn't. I couldn't be with myself. But there's something

444
00:25:03.920 --> 00:25:07.160
out there doesn't make any sense. There's a lot of

445
00:25:07.200 --> 00:25:11.160
things mostly that don't make any sense about how these

446
00:25:11.240 --> 00:25:16.359
animals has lived and reproduced and there seems to be

447
00:25:16.599 --> 00:25:20.400
an awful lot of them in certain areas and just biologically,

448
00:25:20.680 --> 00:25:25.920
just things just don't make sense. But we're dealing with

449
00:25:26.000 --> 00:25:29.599
something here we don't know. We don't know what it is. Really,

450
00:25:30.119 --> 00:25:31.920
we don't know where it came from, and there's a

451
00:25:31.920 --> 00:25:35.200
lot of theories. We don't know exactly what it is.

452
00:25:36.039 --> 00:25:40.799
And there's no experts on this animal. And I know

453
00:25:40.839 --> 00:25:43.640
there's some people that think they are, but you can't

454
00:25:43.680 --> 00:25:46.680
be an expert on an animal that's not even hasn't

455
00:25:46.720 --> 00:25:51.079
been proven to exist. It's just everybody's got ideas and

456
00:25:51.079 --> 00:25:54.759
they passed the ideas around and it's just hard to

457
00:25:54.759 --> 00:25:57.839
come up with anything. So any in chart has to

458
00:25:57.839 --> 00:26:00.920
say that most of those wilds aren't going to believe

459
00:26:00.920 --> 00:26:05.279
in it. And I think even eventually they come up

460
00:26:05.319 --> 00:26:08.680
with a with a good body, no matter where they

461
00:26:08.680 --> 00:26:11.480
find it or where they put it, They're still not

462
00:26:11.519 --> 00:26:13.359
going to believe it. It's going to be one of

463
00:26:13.519 --> 00:26:17.200
one of those things, like everything is today, you can't

464
00:26:17.200 --> 00:26:19.440
believe anything you hear or see. It seems, but I

465
00:26:19.559 --> 00:26:21.920
just tell myself, I saw it. I know I saw it.

466
00:26:22.119 --> 00:26:25.079
I have to believe it. But I loved you before

467
00:26:25.160 --> 00:26:28.599
I pass away. I love to figure out how it

468
00:26:28.640 --> 00:26:31.519
does exist, and those are the things that it does.

469
00:26:32.240 --> 00:26:35.440
I just don't know. I just don't know. It's a

470
00:26:35.519 --> 00:26:37.200
heck of a good mystery.

471
00:26:37.559 --> 00:26:40.319
I would wager to say it's one of one of

472
00:26:40.319 --> 00:26:43.000
the best. And I hope before the end of my

473
00:26:43.160 --> 00:26:47.440
time that there's some sort of definite answer that's finally

474
00:26:47.480 --> 00:26:50.880
able to be Maybe there's a type specimen that's able

475
00:26:50.920 --> 00:26:54.720
to be taken, or I don't know, whatever it would take.

476
00:26:54.960 --> 00:26:56.599
You all, just what do you think it would take

477
00:26:56.680 --> 00:27:00.640
for this to finally be proven? Would it take DNA specimen?

478
00:27:00.799 --> 00:27:03.039
It's like you said, is they take a type specimen.

479
00:27:03.559 --> 00:27:08.119
There've been all this DNA work that different people talk about,

480
00:27:08.799 --> 00:27:12.319
but the DNA works is not worth too much because

481
00:27:13.519 --> 00:27:16.880
we use different samples that came from this area and

482
00:27:17.039 --> 00:27:21.119
that area. This animal, not animal it's all hearsay. It's

483
00:27:21.160 --> 00:27:24.319
all heresay. Where the samples came from. You're going to

484
00:27:24.400 --> 00:27:26.960
have to have a type specimen. You're going to take

485
00:27:27.000 --> 00:27:30.039
the samples off the type specimen and run them and

486
00:27:30.079 --> 00:27:33.000
find out what it actually is. That's one of the

487
00:27:33.079 --> 00:27:36.279
things that really drives me crazy. Just because they've run

488
00:27:36.279 --> 00:27:39.559
the DNA test, If you don't know where the samples

489
00:27:39.599 --> 00:27:42.240
came from, you haven't got anything. And I know a

490
00:27:42.240 --> 00:27:44.039
lot of people that's going to upset a lot of

491
00:27:44.079 --> 00:27:47.200
people too, But that's what's how it is. We've got

492
00:27:47.200 --> 00:27:49.720
to use science, and then they need to use science

493
00:27:49.720 --> 00:27:53.839
and scientific methods to get this thing figured out. But

494
00:27:54.559 --> 00:27:57.440
if it even can be figured out, I don't know.

495
00:27:57.519 --> 00:27:59.880
It's a lot. Like I said, I've been looking into

496
00:27:59.920 --> 00:28:02.960
it a long time now, and about the best we

497
00:28:03.000 --> 00:28:04.759
can do is hope to see it now and then.

498
00:28:05.000 --> 00:28:06.839
But until we have you on, until we have a

499
00:28:07.359 --> 00:28:10.839
type specimen of the type of animal to actually run

500
00:28:10.920 --> 00:28:14.359
test on, it's just not gonna nothing's going to count.

501
00:28:14.359 --> 00:28:17.279
I guess the way to put it. Sure, so you

502
00:28:17.359 --> 00:28:19.960
know where it's coming from, it doesn't mean anything.

503
00:28:20.400 --> 00:28:25.440
Harold reminded me, were you actively your relation to Bigfoot research.

504
00:28:25.960 --> 00:28:29.039
What was it in the nineteen seventies? Was it existent

505
00:28:29.200 --> 00:28:29.559
at all?

506
00:28:30.599 --> 00:28:33.920
Not a lot of the nineteen seventies when I mentioned

507
00:28:34.079 --> 00:28:39.119
the Bigfoot festival down in southern Illinois that happened fifty

508
00:28:39.519 --> 00:28:43.640
fifty one years ago today, and I guess it got

509
00:28:43.640 --> 00:28:47.039
a lot of it got a lot of advertisement, publication

510
00:28:47.240 --> 00:28:50.880
around the world and stuff. But I was working as

511
00:28:50.640 --> 00:28:54.359
a camis two miles from where I'm said today, and

512
00:28:54.920 --> 00:28:58.119
all through all that I didn't even hear about it.

513
00:28:59.039 --> 00:29:01.599
I didn't even know about at it, okay, but about

514
00:29:01.640 --> 00:29:04.920
through the seventies and whatever. Actually, I was still teaching,

515
00:29:04.680 --> 00:29:09.119
doing some things, trying to raise a family, and I

516
00:29:09.160 --> 00:29:12.680
had my head a lot of other places. But I've

517
00:29:12.759 --> 00:29:15.119
just was just taking up some things here and there.

518
00:29:15.880 --> 00:29:18.880
And there's timing in a guy's life that he's got

519
00:29:18.880 --> 00:29:20.920
to be raising the family and worrying about that. And

520
00:29:21.000 --> 00:29:23.119
I guess I had where I had my head.

521
00:29:23.920 --> 00:29:27.640
Makes sense, totally get it. So we talked earlier about

522
00:29:27.880 --> 00:29:32.000
you've spent a lot of time researching Bigfoot in Illinois,

523
00:29:32.039 --> 00:29:35.000
which is where you're based out of. And I've been

524
00:29:35.079 --> 00:29:37.200
able to talk to a few people from Illinois I've

525
00:29:37.200 --> 00:29:41.640
talked to. There's definitely some things going on northeast of

526
00:29:41.720 --> 00:29:45.160
Peoria in the northern part of the state. There's the

527
00:29:45.240 --> 00:29:48.400
Shawnee area down in the south part of the state,

528
00:29:48.440 --> 00:29:50.880
and you've got a little Egypt and all that good

529
00:29:50.960 --> 00:29:54.480
stuff down there. But what has your research been like

530
00:29:54.799 --> 00:29:56.400
in the state over the years?

531
00:29:56.880 --> 00:29:59.359
Okay, when I go, I think it's much time in

532
00:29:59.400 --> 00:30:04.559
as Shawnee as I can. And basically in Illinois, if

533
00:30:04.599 --> 00:30:07.759
you're not in the Shawnee, you're someplace where you probably

534
00:30:07.759 --> 00:30:10.599
haven't got permission to be That's a big thing. If

535
00:30:10.599 --> 00:30:13.279
you get out of park ground, the public ground in Illinois,

536
00:30:13.519 --> 00:30:16.319
you just haven't got permission to be there. So I

537
00:30:16.440 --> 00:30:20.480
spend a lot of time in the murphy Boro area

538
00:30:21.200 --> 00:30:24.839
on that side of the state and the south about

539
00:30:24.839 --> 00:30:27.880
as far as you can drive down through down to

540
00:30:28.039 --> 00:30:34.079
Jonesborough and even further. And then I go over to

541
00:30:34.319 --> 00:30:40.359
Harrisburg and south from Harrisburg, and I've got a little

542
00:30:40.559 --> 00:30:43.920
private park down there that I use. It's Williams Hill Pass.

543
00:30:44.720 --> 00:30:46.200
I use that a lot.

544
00:30:46.839 --> 00:30:50.319
Big for society will be right back after these messages.

545
00:31:05.799 --> 00:31:10.960
And always have something really strange and really something really

546
00:31:11.000 --> 00:31:14.000
stands out every time I go down there. And sometimes

547
00:31:14.079 --> 00:31:17.640
an awful lot of stuff happens down there. A lot

548
00:31:17.680 --> 00:31:22.240
of stuff happens at Murphysboro. I cannot sometimes decide when

549
00:31:22.240 --> 00:31:25.039
I have a few days where I want to go,

550
00:31:25.160 --> 00:31:30.920
because both those areas are good. And the thing is

551
00:31:30.960 --> 00:31:32.680
there's a lot of ground down there that you can

552
00:31:33.079 --> 00:31:38.359
you can get on. Now. I've brought ten, fifteen, twenty

553
00:31:38.559 --> 00:31:42.640
BFR investigators right up here to Montgomery County, to Hillsboro

554
00:31:43.480 --> 00:31:46.440
and try to do some things up here too, But

555
00:31:46.759 --> 00:31:50.160
I can't keep them off the private ground. I'll have ground,

556
00:31:50.160 --> 00:31:54.200
but I have permission to use. But I don't know.

557
00:31:54.240 --> 00:31:57.319
Maybe they're just not used to keep the people being

558
00:31:57.319 --> 00:32:01.440
protected whether they're up their ground. You just you've got

559
00:32:01.440 --> 00:32:06.119
to creet these farmers nice. They've got to lunch. Maybe

560
00:32:06.200 --> 00:32:08.400
sometimes you got to shoot a few coyotes to get

561
00:32:08.440 --> 00:32:12.440
permission to get on there and do anything. Except if

562
00:32:12.440 --> 00:32:15.359
they think they've got something, they'll call you and ask

563
00:32:15.440 --> 00:32:18.519
me to come down and look. But they're the big

564
00:32:19.279 --> 00:32:22.079
thing is who owns the ground and do I have

565
00:32:22.200 --> 00:32:25.720
permission to get on it? And like I say, I'm

566
00:32:25.759 --> 00:32:31.720
in Hillsboro and I have a lot of sightings day's out,

567
00:32:31.759 --> 00:32:34.559
an awful lot of them, which is funny, And do

568
00:32:34.599 --> 00:32:39.599
all that go back maybe thirty five years all around

569
00:32:39.599 --> 00:32:41.759
this town. From where I'm sitting right now, I could

570
00:32:41.799 --> 00:32:45.799
go six seven miles north or south and be in

571
00:32:45.839 --> 00:32:48.480
areas where there's been three or four sidings. I could

572
00:32:48.519 --> 00:32:52.319
go east and west and not quite as many sightings.

573
00:32:52.440 --> 00:32:55.000
The thing about Hillsborough here is I think that makes

574
00:32:55.000 --> 00:32:58.839
it so good. We've got the Shoal Creek that's called

575
00:32:58.880 --> 00:33:04.079
and it's three branch creek, and hill roll sets at

576
00:33:04.079 --> 00:33:08.599
the top of the branches between the east branch and

577
00:33:08.680 --> 00:33:14.359
the middle fork. The middle branch and then Lynchfield is

578
00:33:15.279 --> 00:33:20.599
eight miles to the west, and there's another branch with

579
00:33:20.759 --> 00:33:24.680
its sharper and it joins into the middle branch after

580
00:33:24.839 --> 00:33:28.759
just maybe ten miles. The thing with me, we've got

581
00:33:29.160 --> 00:33:34.200
again being it's all privately on ground, but we've got

582
00:33:34.599 --> 00:33:38.160
water and lots of food, and with these three creek branches,

583
00:33:38.440 --> 00:33:41.720
I think it's really it's just ideal for something like this.

584
00:33:42.319 --> 00:33:44.200
And I guess I'm lucky that I was raised and

585
00:33:44.200 --> 00:33:47.799
brought up here and I've still got a few living

586
00:33:47.839 --> 00:33:50.680
relatives and I know a lot of people, and I

587
00:33:50.720 --> 00:33:54.079
can get on this ground and people help me and

588
00:33:54.119 --> 00:33:57.480
people will cooperate with me, and the people that don't

589
00:33:57.480 --> 00:34:01.519
even know me know of me, and with happens. I

590
00:34:01.519 --> 00:34:06.400
get telephone calls and for I don't use any computer

591
00:34:07.119 --> 00:34:11.760
communication of any sort or whatever really anymore, and I

592
00:34:11.880 --> 00:34:15.559
just don't. I just don't get involved with that. I

593
00:34:15.719 --> 00:34:21.639
just use regular old telephones and business cards. And I'm

594
00:34:21.639 --> 00:34:25.119
really surprised that the number of people that do get

595
00:34:25.119 --> 00:34:28.079
a hold of me. And a lot of people, well,

596
00:34:28.119 --> 00:34:30.800
there's two things. A lot of people I want to

597
00:34:30.800 --> 00:34:33.480
know if they've got something going on in their property

598
00:34:34.239 --> 00:34:37.440
and think, man, there's something scrange out here, and they

599
00:34:37.440 --> 00:34:39.679
call me and I go out and I try to

600
00:34:39.719 --> 00:34:42.800
look inside what I think from what I can see,

601
00:34:42.800 --> 00:34:45.360
if they have got something that strange on their property.

602
00:34:46.239 --> 00:34:48.800
And then there's people that don't really want you on

603
00:34:48.880 --> 00:34:53.800
the property, but they've been scared of something. They say

604
00:34:53.800 --> 00:34:56.960
something's not right in the woods, so I try to

605
00:34:57.000 --> 00:35:00.679
help them. Then it's because maybe the biggest thing, if

606
00:35:00.679 --> 00:35:04.400
they've seen something or had something going on, they're afraid

607
00:35:04.559 --> 00:35:08.119
to say it, to tell anybody. I've had guys that

608
00:35:08.199 --> 00:35:12.800
wouldn't even tell their wives that they've seen something. But

609
00:35:13.119 --> 00:35:15.519
if they call me time, they call me they know that.

610
00:35:16.280 --> 00:35:19.159
Like we already said, I'm not going to be giving

611
00:35:19.239 --> 00:35:21.440
up their name or where they live, or their property

612
00:35:21.519 --> 00:35:26.000
or what they've seen so they can be identified. And

613
00:35:26.360 --> 00:35:29.039
between those two things, I think that makes a lot

614
00:35:29.079 --> 00:35:32.840
of difference. But down southern Illinois, you've got an awful

615
00:35:32.880 --> 00:35:35.360
lot of an awful lot of ground, but it's in

616
00:35:35.400 --> 00:35:39.639
the Shawnee. It's botty. You have to be careful. But

617
00:35:40.039 --> 00:35:45.400
that's the thing. I respect everybody's ground, everybody's property, and

618
00:35:45.800 --> 00:35:48.119
if I'm with people, I expect them and I do

619
00:35:48.199 --> 00:35:52.480
one people, I say, don't cross those senses and bother anything.

620
00:35:52.719 --> 00:35:55.480
Take care of this place just like it you want it.

621
00:35:56.480 --> 00:35:59.440
And if they do that, we're fine. But I have

622
00:35:59.519 --> 00:36:01.880
hal had and people get in trouble because they just

623
00:36:01.920 --> 00:36:04.440
don't think they have to worry about getting on anybody

624
00:36:04.440 --> 00:36:08.079
else's property. But anyway, that's a big difference between between

625
00:36:08.199 --> 00:36:13.199
north and south available property over the years.

626
00:36:13.199 --> 00:36:17.960
Did you ever do any research up in Iowa? Just curious.

627
00:36:18.320 --> 00:36:21.559
I've been to Iowa a couple of times. I had

628
00:36:21.599 --> 00:36:23.960
a friend that I can't even think where he is now,

629
00:36:24.039 --> 00:36:27.960
but I haven't been there for years now, and I've

630
00:36:27.960 --> 00:36:31.400
gone up there to a couple of park areas. I'd

631
00:36:31.400 --> 00:36:33.239
have to get out the map and see it and

632
00:36:33.679 --> 00:36:36.320
into some old notes to see where I even was now.

633
00:36:36.599 --> 00:36:40.199
But I have cast one or two prints in Iowa

634
00:36:41.280 --> 00:36:43.960
in one of the park I remember that. But one

635
00:36:43.960 --> 00:36:45.559
of the guys that I used to go up with,

636
00:36:45.639 --> 00:36:49.880
he was kind of, everything's a big foot, sure, and

637
00:36:50.320 --> 00:36:53.239
I don't. I'm my Actually the other way. There may

638
00:36:53.239 --> 00:36:55.079
be something there, but it probably not a big foot.

639
00:36:55.280 --> 00:36:57.280
There's a lot of animals in the woods of all

640
00:36:57.360 --> 00:37:01.000
sizes and shape. And of course I hunt and foot

641
00:37:01.119 --> 00:37:04.840
and a hut and ski and about any outdoor sport

642
00:37:04.920 --> 00:37:07.599
you can do. And so I'll be seventy seven in

643
00:37:07.639 --> 00:37:10.119
a couple of months. I felt my life doing all

644
00:37:10.199 --> 00:37:16.039
that kind of stuff, tiled hunting and just about everything.

645
00:37:16.159 --> 00:37:21.159
So I've been in the woods a lot and seen

646
00:37:21.199 --> 00:37:24.239
a lot and people, a lot of people in some

647
00:37:24.280 --> 00:37:27.599
of the bigfoot organizations. So if you're if you're a

648
00:37:27.679 --> 00:37:30.920
hunter or you look like a hunter in the woods,

649
00:37:31.239 --> 00:37:33.719
you're not going to see anything because you're going to

650
00:37:33.800 --> 00:37:37.440
scare it all off. And I tell them, if you're

651
00:37:37.480 --> 00:37:41.440
a hunter or a real outdoors money, you know what's

652
00:37:41.480 --> 00:37:43.679
in the outdoors, and you don't jump in every single

653
00:37:43.719 --> 00:37:46.800
thing and say it's a big foot and that's that.

654
00:37:47.079 --> 00:37:51.920
That is a difference. And you know what you're what,

655
00:37:51.960 --> 00:37:55.599
you're looking at, what's around. It's the things that you

656
00:37:55.760 --> 00:37:59.280
don't know that you can't figure out that really spook you.

657
00:38:00.199 --> 00:38:02.519
That thing. I watched it forty feet away from me

658
00:38:03.480 --> 00:38:05.440
in the middle of life. That kind of spoofed me.

659
00:38:06.039 --> 00:38:08.039
If you ever get the chance to look through your

660
00:38:08.079 --> 00:38:12.159
notes and you happen to find where you cast those

661
00:38:12.360 --> 00:38:16.760
tracks at in the wherever it was in Iowa, I'd

662
00:38:16.760 --> 00:38:19.840
be curious to know. I'm from just outside of central

663
00:38:19.880 --> 00:38:23.599
Iowa myself to the west, so trying to find all

664
00:38:23.639 --> 00:38:26.480
the historical info about what's happened in the state.

665
00:38:26.679 --> 00:38:32.960
But I think I was more more northern. It's marked

666
00:38:33.000 --> 00:38:35.519
on it's at least marked on a map or something somewhere.

667
00:38:35.559 --> 00:38:39.000
And I used to a lot of times keep a

668
00:38:39.079 --> 00:38:42.239
notebook for almost every trip. I took like a three

669
00:38:42.360 --> 00:38:46.239
leaf book. And that's when I was making those trips.

670
00:38:46.280 --> 00:38:48.360
I had, I was sick, I had I went through

671
00:38:48.360 --> 00:38:52.360
a period where I had bad pancreage infections, and I

672
00:38:52.440 --> 00:38:56.480
had I had three times three types of cancer. Oh wow,

673
00:38:57.079 --> 00:39:00.800
And so I've been really lucky and the knock on

674
00:39:00.920 --> 00:39:03.800
what I need to go in for another cancer test

675
00:39:03.880 --> 00:39:06.559
here real soon, and I hate to do it, sure

676
00:39:07.039 --> 00:39:10.239
because I don't want to find anymore. But yeah, that

677
00:39:10.440 --> 00:39:11.960
was I was. I remember the last time I went

678
00:39:12.079 --> 00:39:16.519
to Iowa. I was sick. But I'm pretty sure I

679
00:39:16.559 --> 00:39:19.119
know I was with north of Cedar Rapids.

680
00:39:19.719 --> 00:39:21.920
Yeah, that's the really squatchy area up there.

681
00:39:22.079 --> 00:39:24.280
Yeah, yeah, when you get up in there. I was

682
00:39:24.360 --> 00:39:28.039
Martha there and maybe I was a little bit west

683
00:39:28.079 --> 00:39:32.639
of there, but yeah, if I run across it, I'll

684
00:39:32.639 --> 00:39:35.480
do that. Now. I have got one of these days

685
00:39:35.559 --> 00:39:39.079
I need to get with you. I've got another story

686
00:39:39.159 --> 00:39:44.280
that I don't talk about. It happened before this one

687
00:39:44.320 --> 00:39:47.519
I was talking about tonight. It more or less gets

688
00:39:47.519 --> 00:39:54.199
you into paranormal bigfoot sure, which being a scientist, I've

689
00:39:54.199 --> 00:39:58.360
always tried to stay away from that. But what I've

690
00:39:58.480 --> 00:40:03.039
learned is overall the years to say, you really can't

691
00:40:03.599 --> 00:40:07.519
stay away from it. I don't pay that much attention

692
00:40:07.719 --> 00:40:11.480
to a lot of the really strange things. But when

693
00:40:11.480 --> 00:40:13.880
I was with the bf R O see BFRO has

694
00:40:13.920 --> 00:40:18.480
a special file. If somebody mentions in their bigfoot story

695
00:40:19.159 --> 00:40:24.119
get into a paranormal type things or says where they

696
00:40:24.159 --> 00:40:27.360
got out of a spaceship or something weird. We've got

697
00:40:27.360 --> 00:40:29.440
a file, but we just put them in so there's

698
00:40:29.599 --> 00:40:32.920
there should be all saved, but it's full of really

699
00:40:33.079 --> 00:40:36.199
weird stuff. And I gave you a name one day

700
00:40:36.239 --> 00:40:40.199
we were talking, Carter Burchard. Did you ever get a

701
00:40:40.199 --> 00:40:40.719
hold of him?

702
00:40:40.960 --> 00:40:44.119
He's on the list of people I know. He's got

703
00:40:45.000 --> 00:40:48.119
multiple books that are supposed to be very good reads.

704
00:40:48.719 --> 00:40:51.440
But he is yeah to talk to yeah, and.

705
00:40:51.639 --> 00:40:55.840
He's writing another one right now. And he started BFRO.

706
00:40:56.320 --> 00:40:59.199
I was already with him for a while, but he

707
00:40:59.280 --> 00:41:01.840
started with him, and he was one of the guys

708
00:41:01.880 --> 00:41:04.719
that would come up here to Illinois and do some things.

709
00:41:04.760 --> 00:41:07.519
And we haven't been together for a little bit, but

710
00:41:07.679 --> 00:41:12.280
he's had so much I don't know what to call it. Paranormal.

711
00:41:12.360 --> 00:41:14.760
I've just called for so much stuff that he's that's

712
00:41:14.800 --> 00:41:18.320
where he started spending time. Instead of just throwing him out,

713
00:41:18.960 --> 00:41:21.159
he tried to going more and more into this stuff,

714
00:41:21.719 --> 00:41:24.440
and that's where all his books have pretty much come from.

715
00:41:24.920 --> 00:41:28.039
I guess the book that he's finishing up right now,

716
00:41:28.360 --> 00:41:33.760
it's basically about habituations, but the others, and actually the

717
00:41:33.800 --> 00:41:37.679
others he wrote three books, but he wrote but one

718
00:41:37.679 --> 00:41:40.960
of them that he wrote, he went back into it

719
00:41:41.800 --> 00:41:44.239
and added a bunch of stuff. So there's a new

720
00:41:44.360 --> 00:41:48.079
volume under the same book. But yeah, he lives all

721
00:41:48.159 --> 00:41:51.880
by Kansas City, and you get ahold of get a

722
00:41:51.920 --> 00:41:53.800
hold of him a tongue where he got his name,

723
00:41:53.840 --> 00:41:55.840
and he's he does a lot of he does a

724
00:41:55.840 --> 00:42:00.280
lot of podcasts and he's not, like you said, some

725
00:42:00.320 --> 00:42:02.880
good books and stuff. So now I got off of

726
00:42:02.920 --> 00:42:05.920
whatever I was talking about. Where was I?

727
00:42:06.000 --> 00:42:09.840
It feels like a few times during the interviews so far,

728
00:42:10.199 --> 00:42:14.440
it feels like there's something that you've experienced that you

729
00:42:14.559 --> 00:42:17.679
want to share, but you're very I don't know if

730
00:42:17.679 --> 00:42:19.840
I want to share it, but it feels like you

731
00:42:19.920 --> 00:42:21.039
want to share something.

732
00:42:21.719 --> 00:42:25.719
That other story that I just mentioned that happened down

733
00:42:25.800 --> 00:42:29.519
in Mina, Arkansas, and ten days before that one I

734
00:42:29.639 --> 00:42:31.480
talked about. But I don't know how long it would

735
00:42:31.480 --> 00:42:34.039
really take for me to tell that story. I've only

736
00:42:34.639 --> 00:42:40.440
really told it once, and it's at least it'll be

737
00:42:40.519 --> 00:42:43.559
seventeen years ago too. You have only told it once

738
00:42:43.639 --> 00:42:46.360
and I put it you say you found this story

739
00:42:47.079 --> 00:42:52.760
on Facebook. It's on Facebook also, and I told it

740
00:42:52.880 --> 00:42:56.760
even a couple of my friends. I said, I'm having

741
00:42:56.800 --> 00:43:00.880
trouble leaving that story. I said, that's why I never

742
00:43:00.920 --> 00:43:04.039
told you anybody were all these years because strange. And

743
00:43:04.079 --> 00:43:06.440
I don't know if you want to do it another time.

744
00:43:06.440 --> 00:43:09.800
Or it's up to you. But I do have the

745
00:43:09.920 --> 00:43:12.360
time now and it might be one of the things

746
00:43:12.400 --> 00:43:14.880
where we're both on the same call now and if

747
00:43:14.880 --> 00:43:17.599
you've got a few minutes, but up to you. I

748
00:43:17.639 --> 00:43:19.239
want to respect your time, of course.

749
00:43:20.400 --> 00:43:23.719
Yeah, I don't even know what time is. It's nine thirty,

750
00:43:23.800 --> 00:43:24.360
is it okay?

751
00:43:24.360 --> 00:43:25.159
About nine thirty?

752
00:43:26.159 --> 00:43:28.559
And you usually run the ten, don't you.

753
00:43:28.840 --> 00:43:31.679
Give or take? But I would love to be able

754
00:43:31.800 --> 00:43:34.599
to have you share your story. If you're cool with that.

755
00:43:35.440 --> 00:43:38.800
Yeah, let's try it. Like I said, it's even with

756
00:43:38.800 --> 00:43:41.599
some of my friends. It may just have trouble with it.

757
00:43:41.639 --> 00:43:43.960
But we're getting into the paranormal stuff here.

758
00:43:44.400 --> 00:43:49.760
Yeah, no judgment here, Harold. So you feel with telling it?

759
00:43:50.000 --> 00:43:52.199
Yeah? Yeah, I love like a couple of big too,

760
00:43:52.239 --> 00:43:56.119
a guy making fun of flying saucers or anything. Nothing

761
00:43:56.159 --> 00:43:58.000
worse and big for a guy making fun of each other.

762
00:43:58.480 --> 00:44:03.079
This was I think it was of Mina and of

763
00:44:03.119 --> 00:44:06.480
course act just the hopskiff and a jump from where

764
00:44:06.480 --> 00:44:09.519
I was in Oklahoma. I started out at Mina, me

765
00:44:09.599 --> 00:44:13.280
and some other people and the stranger's dog. One deal.

766
00:44:14.119 --> 00:44:18.559
Didn't really have any plan or whatever. But one of

767
00:44:18.599 --> 00:44:22.360
the guys were in Walmart and most of us were

768
00:44:22.360 --> 00:44:23.960
just sitting in the parking lot. And one of the

769
00:44:24.000 --> 00:44:26.199
guys went in to get something in Walmart at Mina

770
00:44:27.039 --> 00:44:31.320
and ran into this gal there was talking Bigfoot. So

771
00:44:31.360 --> 00:44:34.559
we got hooked up with her. And she had a

772
00:44:34.559 --> 00:44:39.159
little bitty place down I think it had to be south,

773
00:44:39.480 --> 00:44:41.639
tucked back in there at the base of the mountain,

774
00:44:42.400 --> 00:44:45.599
and she said she even had there was an old

775
00:44:45.639 --> 00:44:49.039
school bus in the woods, and the Bigfoot a lot

776
00:44:49.039 --> 00:44:52.280
of the time stayed in the school bus for show

777
00:44:52.519 --> 00:44:53.000
in the winter.

778
00:44:53.239 --> 00:44:57.000
That's okay, big for SOCIETYHO would be right back after

779
00:44:57.039 --> 00:44:57.760
these messages.

780
00:45:13.880 --> 00:45:17.159
Anyway, This one night, men and a guy from Kentucky

781
00:45:18.119 --> 00:45:24.679
and a woman from north then northwest of Kansas City.

782
00:45:25.440 --> 00:45:28.920
He had a van, and we're all old. They're both

783
00:45:28.960 --> 00:45:33.039
older than me. I was about sixty then, and we

784
00:45:33.079 --> 00:45:37.039
went down by her place back in the woods, and

785
00:45:37.199 --> 00:45:41.519
this was the darkest place I think I ever saw,

786
00:45:42.039 --> 00:45:45.000
or whatever was at and maybe it wasn't that dark,

787
00:45:45.079 --> 00:45:48.519
it was close to it. This place was dark. So

788
00:45:48.599 --> 00:45:50.880
we went down the road, passed her place, and we

789
00:45:51.519 --> 00:45:54.880
pulled off and took the van, took it back in

790
00:45:55.039 --> 00:46:00.199
a little bit, and then me and other the older guy,

791
00:46:00.719 --> 00:46:04.119
we got out, and she says, I don't really feel

792
00:46:04.199 --> 00:46:07.280
good about getting out here. I think, oh, lock the

793
00:46:07.320 --> 00:46:09.159
doors of the van here, and I'll stay in the

794
00:46:09.239 --> 00:46:12.320
van and wait for you guys. And so that's what

795
00:46:12.360 --> 00:46:14.360
we did, me and him. We walked back down the

796
00:46:14.400 --> 00:46:17.719
road the direction we'd come from, somewhere between that a

797
00:46:17.880 --> 00:46:19.760
quarter and a half. We went too far down, but

798
00:46:19.800 --> 00:46:24.960
we walked down and we were in this gavel inviters down.

799
00:46:25.039 --> 00:46:28.719
We were in her driveway and the man, it was dark,

800
00:46:29.760 --> 00:46:34.440
and we weren't there too long, and this horrendous stream

801
00:46:35.719 --> 00:46:39.719
come from the mountains just off the road to our belbow.

802
00:46:40.039 --> 00:46:42.320
It would have still been to our south, and it

803
00:46:42.480 --> 00:46:44.679
wasn't too far away, but it was so loud and

804
00:46:44.760 --> 00:46:47.800
so scary. I've still never heard anything like it in

805
00:46:47.880 --> 00:46:51.400
the woods or whatever. This was an awful screen. We

806
00:46:51.519 --> 00:46:54.639
both we backed up maybe twenty feet into her driveway

807
00:46:54.719 --> 00:46:57.519
to get away. Because you seen boy something was going

808
00:46:57.599 --> 00:47:00.480
to pop out of the woods and it was going

809
00:47:00.519 --> 00:47:02.920
to be awful. So we stood there as long as

810
00:47:02.920 --> 00:47:06.079
we could. And I'm looking down the road back towards

811
00:47:06.119 --> 00:47:08.039
the van and I can I'm far and afway, I

812
00:47:08.079 --> 00:47:11.599
can't see the van, and it's dark. I see this great,

813
00:47:11.679 --> 00:47:15.119
big white thing across the ditch, come out of the

814
00:47:15.159 --> 00:47:17.719
woods on the mountain side. And he gets in the

815
00:47:17.800 --> 00:47:22.320
road and he starts walking towards us. Like I said,

816
00:47:22.320 --> 00:47:26.000
we're a little bit back off of it, though, And

817
00:47:26.000 --> 00:47:28.320
I tell this this other friend mine uses. His name

818
00:47:28.400 --> 00:47:30.199
was war. I don't even know. I don't think he's

819
00:47:30.199 --> 00:47:33.719
alive anymore. I said, hey, that's going to almost run

820
00:47:33.719 --> 00:47:37.039
into us. It's coming straight at us. And he says,

821
00:47:37.079 --> 00:47:39.960
what I said. It's big and white and it looks

822
00:47:40.000 --> 00:47:42.679
like a big foot to me. And he says, I

823
00:47:42.719 --> 00:47:48.000
don't see nothing. He said, you're imagining. And I said, arty,

824
00:47:48.000 --> 00:47:51.239
it's coming right at us. And this was scary from

825
00:47:51.239 --> 00:47:54.639
my point of view. I'm watching this and what do

826
00:47:54.679 --> 00:47:57.159
we do? So we backed up a little bit more

827
00:47:57.719 --> 00:48:00.480
and before it got to us. I'm in a way

828
00:48:00.519 --> 00:48:03.480
about this thing coming at us. Before it got to us,

829
00:48:03.639 --> 00:48:08.840
it turned jumped back across the ditch and started walking

830
00:48:08.920 --> 00:48:12.039
up the mountain and I say, oh man, and he

831
00:48:12.719 --> 00:48:15.800
still didn't see it. He finally convinced me that I

832
00:48:15.920 --> 00:48:19.719
was half crazy and that there was nothing there. But

833
00:48:19.800 --> 00:48:22.360
back then I still had pretty good eyesight and pretty

834
00:48:22.400 --> 00:48:25.599
good hearing, and he was. He was blinding so bad,

835
00:48:25.639 --> 00:48:30.679
and death too, So I don't know. Anyway, we stayed

836
00:48:30.719 --> 00:48:34.239
down there quite a while, and we finally walked back

837
00:48:34.320 --> 00:48:38.840
to the van, and every where really gets crazy. I

838
00:48:38.880 --> 00:48:41.880
was excited about seeing this thing, and I tell the

839
00:48:41.920 --> 00:48:44.760
gualve been sitting in this van, start to tell her

840
00:48:44.800 --> 00:48:48.800
about what I saw, and she jumps in. She says,

841
00:48:49.599 --> 00:48:52.119
I gotta tell you. I gotta tell you what I saw.

842
00:48:54.239 --> 00:48:56.840
He said. I'm sitting here in the van, in the

843
00:48:56.880 --> 00:49:01.199
back seat, and all of a sudden, its white bigfoot

844
00:49:01.599 --> 00:49:06.480
materialized or appeared, setting in the front seat. It was

845
00:49:06.480 --> 00:49:09.599
setting there, and I said, look out the window, and

846
00:49:09.639 --> 00:49:11.679
there was a little bitty one and it's white also,

847
00:49:11.760 --> 00:49:15.559
and it's running around outside of the vans. And here's

848
00:49:15.639 --> 00:49:18.679
where you think about the whole thing. It really gets funny.

849
00:49:19.360 --> 00:49:22.039
I hadn't told her my story about I saw a

850
00:49:22.079 --> 00:49:25.039
white one down there. I saw big white one too. Anyway,

851
00:49:25.719 --> 00:49:27.840
we started making fun of her, but he made foot

852
00:49:27.920 --> 00:49:32.079
guys making fun of each other, and she got upset,

853
00:49:32.840 --> 00:49:37.280
really got upset, and we quit and I forgot about it.

854
00:49:38.000 --> 00:49:41.440
This guy was good, and she's straight. She wasn't drinking,

855
00:49:41.480 --> 00:49:44.400
she wasn't on drugs. But she saw this thing materialized

856
00:49:44.480 --> 00:49:46.400
right in front of her and sat there for a while,

857
00:49:47.119 --> 00:49:51.360
kind of looked at her, and then it just disappeared.

858
00:49:52.119 --> 00:49:55.639
And I wasn't making fun of her, wasn't really heavy

859
00:49:55.679 --> 00:49:58.480
about it. And so she's a real nice gal and

860
00:49:58.519 --> 00:50:02.719
I like her, and we were actually sitting there making

861
00:50:02.719 --> 00:50:06.199
fun of each other and what we saw. And then

862
00:50:06.199 --> 00:50:10.000
there was a couple other guys around and they heard

863
00:50:10.039 --> 00:50:12.000
about what I saw this and that the other night,

864
00:50:12.000 --> 00:50:15.360
and I did, and I denied it. I didn't rest

865
00:50:15.400 --> 00:50:17.880
of the time I was around anybody. I said, now,

866
00:50:17.880 --> 00:50:20.480
if I had seen that, I just well, Walt says,

867
00:50:20.519 --> 00:50:24.199
I'm just seeing something else. And these guys I was

868
00:50:24.239 --> 00:50:25.960
telling them this too. They said, if you say you

869
00:50:26.000 --> 00:50:28.400
saw something, and Walt said, you didn't, we'll leave you

870
00:50:28.480 --> 00:50:31.320
for the big walk because we think you could have. Well,

871
00:50:31.480 --> 00:50:33.159
like I said, I was still a little bit younger,

872
00:50:33.599 --> 00:50:37.159
still could see and still could hear anyway. Bluffed at that,

873
00:50:38.079 --> 00:50:40.880
and I just more or less denied it. It was

874
00:50:41.599 --> 00:50:44.199
probably a couple of months before I was setting down

875
00:50:44.239 --> 00:50:48.159
one day and I just happened to think I saw

876
00:50:48.280 --> 00:50:51.639
why when coming down the road she saw why wouldn't

877
00:50:51.639 --> 00:50:55.079
materialize in the van. I wonder what's going on here?

878
00:50:55.760 --> 00:50:58.519
And like I said, I thought about it. It was

879
00:50:59.159 --> 00:51:02.800
sixteen seventeen years I thought about it, and it's one

880
00:51:02.840 --> 00:51:06.599
of those twenty five stories that I put on Facebook.

881
00:51:07.280 --> 00:51:10.039
And it's just when I just I just forget about

882
00:51:10.039 --> 00:51:13.559
it because Walt told me I didn't see anything, and

883
00:51:13.920 --> 00:51:17.000
I don't know. I don't know the fact that what

884
00:51:17.039 --> 00:51:19.679
she saw was white and what I was seeing was white.

885
00:51:20.280 --> 00:51:22.559
Now I did not see a small and a baby

886
00:51:22.719 --> 00:51:25.239
or whatever, kydler or whatever you want to call it,

887
00:51:25.840 --> 00:51:28.639
But I don't know. Never mind, that's got to be

888
00:51:28.719 --> 00:51:31.000
one of the weirdest bigfoot stories you ever heard.

889
00:51:31.719 --> 00:51:34.199
It's up there, Harold, and it's awesome. So the way

890
00:51:34.239 --> 00:51:38.960
I think that is, I have my personally, but we

891
00:51:39.079 --> 00:51:42.840
haven't proven what it can do or what exactly it

892
00:51:42.920 --> 00:51:47.480
is yet. And end of the day, your friend saw

893
00:51:47.519 --> 00:51:52.719
a white bigfoot materialize inside that vehicle and that's wild

894
00:51:52.760 --> 00:51:55.119
and I don't know how you can explain that away, right.

895
00:51:55.760 --> 00:51:58.519
No, she's not like I said, She's not crazy at

896
00:51:58.519 --> 00:52:02.519
all or anything. And I haven't seen her for quite

897
00:52:02.519 --> 00:52:05.360
a while. Far as I know, she's still alive. See

898
00:52:05.440 --> 00:52:07.599
she does put some stuff on Facebook now and then

899
00:52:08.840 --> 00:52:11.559
see why I don't talk about it. Sure you know

900
00:52:11.679 --> 00:52:15.960
too much. It's but that's an example of three big

901
00:52:16.000 --> 00:52:18.800
foot people making fun each other, which is funny in

902
00:52:18.840 --> 00:52:19.199
as well.

903
00:52:19.320 --> 00:52:22.719
But sure, is this something where you're and I know

904
00:52:22.760 --> 00:52:26.800
you said it's south of Mina, Arkansas, just because it's

905
00:52:26.880 --> 00:52:31.199
interesting when listeners hear something and then maybe someone else

906
00:52:31.239 --> 00:52:35.840
has experienced something to do with the white Bigfoot materializing

907
00:52:36.000 --> 00:52:39.199
in that same area. Are there any other things you

908
00:52:39.239 --> 00:52:41.400
can say about the mountain or do we have to

909
00:52:41.719 --> 00:52:44.159
keep it very vague as to its somewhere self?

910
00:52:45.280 --> 00:52:48.199
That's one of those things. I would have to sure

911
00:52:48.800 --> 00:52:51.719
do some research on it too. I hear you to

912
00:52:51.840 --> 00:52:54.960
find exactly she's not too far off one of the

913
00:52:55.000 --> 00:52:57.519
main highway down there, and I think you's south Amina,

914
00:52:58.239 --> 00:53:01.000
I'm pretty sure that. But I talked to her. She

915
00:53:01.079 --> 00:53:03.199
had a son, to a teenage son, and I talked

916
00:53:03.199 --> 00:53:05.800
to him about what was going on with her with

917
00:53:06.039 --> 00:53:09.280
the bigfoot that she said stayed in the school bus

918
00:53:09.280 --> 00:53:11.639
and he says, yeah, they do. And he says, I

919
00:53:11.639 --> 00:53:13.760
guess they'd also been feeding them and they would come

920
00:53:13.800 --> 00:53:17.119
along and they hit the house and hard methods that

921
00:53:17.159 --> 00:53:20.360
would knock stuff off the walls and things one food

922
00:53:21.280 --> 00:53:24.079
and so she's had a problem around there. But most

923
00:53:24.119 --> 00:53:26.280
of the people out with were associated with with the

924
00:53:26.320 --> 00:53:32.679
BFR BFRO, and she hated the BFRO. And that's it

925
00:53:32.719 --> 00:53:35.519
was just a strange deal that we that she ended

926
00:53:35.599 --> 00:53:39.079
up inviting us over there to take a look. I

927
00:53:39.079 --> 00:53:41.559
guess that's when you get people that will listen to

928
00:53:41.599 --> 00:53:43.840
you and believe you. It doesn't make a lot of difference.

929
00:53:44.800 --> 00:53:48.519
That's one of the neatest things we do is as investigators,

930
00:53:49.079 --> 00:53:52.280
do everything we can to believe people. Now, those are

931
00:53:52.320 --> 00:53:58.000
the two best stories I've got and and like I said,

932
00:53:58.000 --> 00:54:00.719
that last one I just haven't told heck the lost

933
00:54:01.360 --> 00:54:03.360
Maybe I can figure out where that is so I

934
00:54:03.400 --> 00:54:05.719
could come real close. I'm not sure what they call

935
00:54:05.800 --> 00:54:09.039
those mountains, if those are the I was thinking of

936
00:54:09.079 --> 00:54:13.000
White mountains, but I don't know. But yeah, that story there.

937
00:54:13.039 --> 00:54:15.719
I so it tookly fifteen years to even think about

938
00:54:15.840 --> 00:54:18.719
tell at all, and it didn't lose me any friends

939
00:54:18.800 --> 00:54:21.679
or whatever, but they maybe shut their brief in me

940
00:54:21.719 --> 00:54:24.599
a little bit. But anyway, that's some kind of junk

941
00:54:24.639 --> 00:54:27.280
that my friend Carter is in two of those first

942
00:54:27.280 --> 00:54:30.400
three books, some things, and he comes over here. There

943
00:54:30.400 --> 00:54:34.679
are some spots down around Jonesboro and the Trailer Tears

944
00:54:34.760 --> 00:54:38.599
Park that that we've hit a few times. And there's

945
00:54:38.719 --> 00:54:43.239
there's one spot down there south for the Trailer Teers

946
00:54:43.320 --> 00:54:47.000
Park area, and the locals down there say they won't

947
00:54:47.039 --> 00:54:50.280
go into it after dark, and we haven't been into

948
00:54:50.320 --> 00:54:52.400
it too much, but when we've been in if there's

949
00:54:52.400 --> 00:54:56.639
something strange happening there. But again, you don't know. I

950
00:54:56.639 --> 00:55:00.559
didn't used to be afraid going into to the woods

951
00:55:00.679 --> 00:55:03.199
or by myself, and that's usually how I do. I

952
00:55:03.280 --> 00:55:06.719
go by myself and in the dark. I didn't used

953
00:55:06.719 --> 00:55:09.199
to be but I've seen some things over the last

954
00:55:09.320 --> 00:55:13.639
few years, and I really is someplace I really don't

955
00:55:13.639 --> 00:55:16.239
want to I don't feel good about going into, like

956
00:55:16.280 --> 00:55:19.679
I said, basically, by myself. I don't know that David

957
00:55:19.960 --> 00:55:23.119
Bledis is books, for one one make you think once

958
00:55:23.159 --> 00:55:26.320
in a while, and I imagine you've probably read them, right.

959
00:55:27.280 --> 00:55:30.800
Oh, yeah, you definitely want to be cautious and aware,

960
00:55:30.920 --> 00:55:33.599
especially if you're going in the woods by yourself and

961
00:55:33.840 --> 00:55:36.079
let people know where you're going and all that good

962
00:55:36.159 --> 00:55:39.159
stuff that you know. But it sounds like you saw

963
00:55:39.199 --> 00:55:41.880
some weird stuff and that that made you think twice

964
00:55:41.920 --> 00:55:43.360
about going into the woods.

965
00:55:43.360 --> 00:55:47.360
That sometimes, Yeah, And I've had that even around here.

966
00:55:47.519 --> 00:55:50.320
Some spots that I've been to an awful lot. One

967
00:55:50.320 --> 00:55:52.960
of them Gift, a few miles from here. I went

968
00:55:53.039 --> 00:55:56.119
down one night and I couldn't make myself get out

969
00:55:56.119 --> 00:55:59.039
of the car. I couldn't get out at all, and

970
00:55:59.239 --> 00:56:00.880
I said in the car or they were probably twenty

971
00:56:00.920 --> 00:56:05.480
minutes and I finally left, and it spook me that

972
00:56:05.679 --> 00:56:08.480
was it just all in my mind? Or was there's

973
00:56:08.480 --> 00:56:10.920
something telling me not to get out? And I've been

974
00:56:10.960 --> 00:56:14.199
down to the same spot And the one time I

975
00:56:14.320 --> 00:56:16.199
remember and got out of my car and did a

976
00:56:16.239 --> 00:56:18.519
wooden knock and got a wood knock. I'm on an

977
00:56:18.559 --> 00:56:21.199
old road that end of that dead end, I had

978
00:56:21.239 --> 00:56:24.400
a bridge that's been torn out, and I got out

979
00:56:24.400 --> 00:56:27.159
of my car, did some wood knocks and got answers

980
00:56:28.360 --> 00:56:31.440
right there almost in top of me. And I waited

981
00:56:31.440 --> 00:56:35.400
awhile and did some more knocks, and I got more answers,

982
00:56:35.760 --> 00:56:38.960
maybe two or three times further away, and I said, wow.

983
00:56:39.000 --> 00:56:41.760
And I'm down here by myself, so I don't know.

984
00:56:42.199 --> 00:56:44.239
Like I said, I didn't used to be afraid at all.

985
00:56:45.079 --> 00:56:47.239
My dad was. He was, of course, a World War

986
00:56:47.280 --> 00:56:49.679
Two veteran, and I didn't dare tell him if I

987
00:56:49.719 --> 00:56:52.320
got scared in the woods or at dark walking home

988
00:56:52.440 --> 00:56:56.320
or whatever, because he let me know is there's nothing

989
00:56:56.320 --> 00:57:01.679
in that woods that can hurt you. And he was wrong. Yeah,

990
00:57:01.840 --> 00:57:05.280
but yeah he is something else. What else you got.

991
00:57:05.079 --> 00:57:10.239
For me, Harold, It's been a fantastic conversation, and I
