They Shouted “Hey” at an Idaho Campsite. Something Answered.
They called into the darkness beside Idaho’s Snake River. A voice answered, “Hey.” Then came what sounded like laughter.
Christian shares a night-fishing trip near Swan Falls that still leaves him questioning what happened around their campsite. Repeated rustling, an unsettling reply, and a frightening moment at the riverbank turned an ordinary evening into a mystery he continues to revisit.
More Bigfoot Society voicemails bring us to a Connecticut backyard where heavy breathing and breaking wood have drawn a homeowner’s attention, and an Idaho mountain trail where Christian’s girlfriend reported someone watching their ATV.
Plus, callers share their reactions to Capturing Bigfoot and the questions they’re asking about the Patterson–Gimlin film.
What did these witnesses experience? Listen to their accounts and decide what you make of the details.

0:43 My name is Stephen. I live in Chester, Connecticut. So I've had multiple encounters with some kind of Bigfoot creature over the years. I used to have a dog and the dog would only use the bathroom in the woods. And at nighttime, we used to have a archery target set up in the back for targets practice. And she would come out of the woods and after she would leave the woods, we would hear really heavy breathing from a large animal. But the weirdest part was this dog never paid no mind to it. Now, recently, I've come back to Connecticut and I'm in the same house that I grew up in. I'll be working in the backyard.
1:32 I have a wood pile that I'm moving around and I'm cleaning up the brush and stuff in the backyard. And something has been either breaking or throwing really large tree chunks, pieces in the woods at random times that I'm out there. And seeing that you guys have multiple sightings in Connecticut and I just saw the one about Voluntown, I thought maybe I would send you guys a message because this is not something that's new around here. Hi. So my name is Christian. I have... I would say it's a Bigfoot encounter. It was definitely some sort of, there was something there. I didn't see it myself, but it was, my girlfriend at the time saw something. So I'll just get into the story. So I live in Idaho and I like to go up to my uncle's property and we'll go with him up in Pollock. If you know where that is, it's just south of Riggins.
2:43 If you know where that is. And we'll go up and we'll ride up into the mountains around there and go around the paths and stuff. And so it was me and my girlfriend on one four-wheeler following my uncle. And it was my sister. I believe it was my sister that was there. This was a while ago. This was probably like 2019, 2020. Something like that. Right around, I want to say it was August. And we went riding up. And so there's like a split where you can go up more towards the north side and go right around up in that area and go hike around.
3:36 Or you can go more south. And I had never really been up towards the northern end. And so we ended up going that way. And so we followed my uncle up and we rode around and we're having a good time and stop and like you see stuff and like, but there was also like this weird sort of feeling, this creepy feeling that I got over there. Like, I don't know. It was just like, it just, it felt creepy over there. It was just like dark and everything was very dense and just like, I don't know. It just felt, it just felt a little bit eerie. And then, yeah, so we're up there and then we turn around, start to head back and we're riding down and we're going through this rocky part where you're, you got to go slow. And, and my girlfriend, she, at the time she, she taps my shoulder and she's like, Hey, uh, like, like there's like, there's somebody watching us. She's like, there's like a woman like watching us. and it it just sent chills through my spine like just as we were coming out of like that bit and we started moving and like i turned around i looked and like i i didn't see anything but she was she's like no like we need to get the like we need to get out of here like like like there's something there's something there that's like watching us and i I mean, maybe it was just because she said that and maybe she didn't see
5:08 what she thought. I don't know. But like it, it felt like something was watching us. And so what makes me think about it more was the, the year after the next year we went up and it was me, my uncle and my brother. And we, we ended up going on that same side of the, same side of the mountain. And I, I told myself I'd never do, I didn't ever want to go up there cause it's creepy, but we ended up going up there and, uh, I don't know, just same sort of feeling.
5:50 It just kind of felt like something was watching us, but we ended up going up a little bit higher. And just before, like there was like this, like you're coming out of like the trees and, And just before like you hit this field, like we stopped and like, cause like my uncle's always had me like listening to like Bigfoot podcasts and all sorts of stuff. So like, I kind of know like what the certain signs are. Like, uh, so we found a tree that like this little tree, uh, probably like maybe five feet tall tops, like taken bent over top pushed into the ground. Like, uh, Hardly any other trees around it. It's like something definitely took that and put that in the ground. Like, I don't know, it just screams Bigfoot. And it's right in that same area where we were. And there's like mushrooms just growing there.
6:46 And like, yeah, it's just, I don't know what's going on up there. But there's, to me, there's something, something, something weird up there. I would say it's something with Bigfoot because I'm under the impression that Bigfoot has something spiritual going on. Maybe something, I don't know, there's something spiritual going on with Bigfoot, I believe. And I would say that was somewhat of a spiritual encounter. Because she said that it felt evil. And she said it felt like it wanted her, like it wanted to take her.
7:30 And I just like, I don't know, like I'm sitting here and just thinking about it. It's just creepy. It still creeps me out. I still don't want to ever go up on that side of the mountain again. Cause it's just, there's, I don't know. There's something not right over there. Um, but I also have another story that's, uh, it's not Bigfoot. I would, uh, I don't know. I don't know what it is. Something weird. Maybe it's just me. I'll just tell the story. Uh, so me and my buddy, we go to, uh, go fishing, uh, go do night fishing, uh, out on the snake river in Idaho, uh, down by Swan Falls, like kind of marsing or not, not marsing.
8:16 That's a, like, was that Murphy? Um, maybe it is marsing. I don't know. Um, but we go down, we go to go fishing. We, we get there kind of late. It's like nine o'clock when we're getting there. It's like eight 30, nine o'clock when the sun's just like starting to go down. Cause it's like summer. Uh, we get there, we start setting up tents, getting everything ready. The sun starts to go down, like just as like we're finishing up and we're like, Hey, let's, we should probably get a fire going. And, and, uh, we hear some like wrestling in the bushes. My buddy's like kind of tripping out about it. And I'm just like, dude it's probably just a raccoon we like yell we're like hey just like you know scare off whatever it is and we keep kind of doing some of our stuff and hear something rustling again and we're like hey and we continue what we're doing and then we hear rustling a third time and my buddy's like dude like there's gotta be something like I'm like dude it's probably just people or like a raccoon or something And so we yell out.
9:29 We're like, hey, anybody there? And no response. We don't hear anything. Sit there for a minute. Go back to start getting everything together again. Hear rustling again. Like, hey, like, yo, is somebody out there? Like, anybody making noise? Like, what's going on? My buddy's kind of tripping about it, and I'm kind of starting to get a little creeped out because... Whatever it is, it doesn't really matter. to go away, and that's not really a good sign with animals out in the wild. Especially in the middle of the night, and it's pitch black. There's absolutely no moon. There's no stars in the sky. It's dark, pitch black. And, uh, so we, we go and we get in the car and we go to kind of scope out and see if like, maybe we can get our lights on whatever's there.
10:36 Cause we had flashlights, but I don't know. We, I didn't really want to go walking out, out there. Cause I'm, I'm the only one with a gun. My, my, my buddy doesn't have a gun. He's not even, he's not even able to get a pistol yet. I'm the only one with one. I don't know. It just doesn't sound like a good idea. And so we drive around, kind of maybe see if maybe there's people there and they went to sleep and maybe there's like a dog or something. I don't know. We don't see anything. Everything seems normal. And then we go and we go back and this part creeps me out. And it's like, why did it not creep me out then? We go back to our spot, and we get out of the car, and I zap the taser in the air to scare off whatever's there, and we debated going or not. And my buddy yells out one more time, like, hey. And then we hear somebody else go, hey. And then there was a little bit of giggling or something. I don't know. It almost sounded like there was laughter, too. We get back to the campsite. And we get out of the car and my buddy yells out again. And like, we hear people and they're like, Hey, and like, we heard like a little bit of giggling and like, I don't know. I'm like, I'm sitting there. I'm like pissed off. I'm like, really?
11:59 Like there's people over there and nobody said anything before. Like what? And so we go about our night and like get a fire started and like everything. We didn't hear anything else. get a fire started. We feel good. There's a fire where, you know, it makes us feel safe. We can like see, uh, cause I mean like we had like head, headlamps and stuff, but like, it's not as, it's not as good as having a fire right there. Go through and like go through a few hours of fishing and like catch a carp. And that's a whole other story. That was really kind of weird. Um, and so, uh, the fire starts to go out and I'm up there by the fire, kind of like messing with it. And my buddy's down by the bank and he's probably like, I want to say maybe 20, 15 yards, 20 yards tops down by the bank, but there's kind of like a drop off. So like, I can't actually see him because of like, where he's at, like how the bank drops off like that down to the actual bank. And so all of a sudden I hear him and he yells to me, he's like, dude, there's a big, there's a big animal. And I go, I go and I go running to grab my gun. Cause I didn't have
13:30 it actually like on me on me. Cause I didn't, my holster that I had at the time didn't, it just didn't fit properly. And it was just annoying and uncomfortable. So I just took the gun off and, uh, I go and I grab it, and here he comes running. I'm like, he's running. But then again, he had a big animal sitting there staring him in the eyes, apparently. He said there's a big set of eyes staring at him from inside the bush. It very well could have just been a mountain lion. There were mountain lion tracks, he said, the next day. But the thing that I sit here and I think about it is, the people that called back because we never like we drove around and I don't know like maybe there was people tucked up in there but I just I just I think about it and I'm just like that was just very weird because we were yelling out a few times and then we heard stuff and like I don't know maybe it was a mountain lion Maybe it was just a mountain lion, but part of me is sitting there and I'm like, was that a skinwalker? Was that a skinwalker?
14:54 Because I don't think there was people over there. Because we just immediately left after he saw eyes. And we kept hearing stuff right there, just moving. But it was just eerily quiet at the same time. Maybe it was just a mountain lion and we were up in his spot. But I just can't get over the people that responded. But there was seemingly never any evidence of people over there at all. I don't know. Maybe I'm tripping. But those are my stories. I think the the big foot one is a little more compelling just because I saw actual like evidence of it. How to girlfriend sitting there saying she saw like a woman and that there was an evil presence and that it felt like they're wanted, like they wanted to take her and that like, I've had weird feelings over there. I don't ever want to go over there. Maybe it's nothing. Hopefully it's nothing. Honestly, but yeah, it's weird. Very weird.
16:20 Hi, my name is Jason and I just finished watching capturing Bigfoot and I'm pretty familiar with the historical relevancy of the Patterson Gimlin film for, I was formerly very invested in the Bigfoot community. So after finishing the documentary on, I gotta say the smoking gun, the big grand reveal, peeling of the curtain, wasn't exactly as conspicuous as I was anticipating it to be. There still lies a lot of questions that are unanswered. The first one, and I can't be the only one that drew this conclusion, and I preface it by saying I've not done any research on this, so if people that are more heavily invested in the community know, then they know and I just haven't looked into it. But Where is the suit? Okay, Bob Hieronymus is supposedly the one behind the suit, and the Patterson family is obviously being interviewed during all this.
17:22 Where's the suit? Because there's still going to be lingering questions and skepticism until we see the suit, where somebody can try it on in real time and clarify and confirm very concretely, yep, this is the suit. Secondly, Dr. Jeff Meldrum and other people who have analyzed the original footage of Patty, what did they have to say about the muscle features and the complexity of the supposed rehearsal film? If it meets the same criteria and all the features exist with the rehearsal film, well, still won't those same questions lie? Do you get what I'm saying? I hope my question's making sense. You know, if you're blown away by how the triceps look, the breast muscles, etc., both from Jeff Meldrum and that makeup artist, won't you still have the same questions with the supposed rehearsal film? Assuming the answer's yes, then you've still got to be just as mysterious as you've been all these years about the original film. That's my take on it. So until we can get possession of this suit or something very, very close to it on how they managed to pull this off, I'm still going to continue to have questions. Now, that's not me saying one way or the other that I think the footage is authentic and real or that I think it's a hoax. But those questions are still very
18:56 pertinent and they need to be addressed. So that's just my take on it. And I appreciate you giving me this opportunity. So last night I went to Portland to see Capturing Bigfoot. And I went into it completely with an open mind. Ever since I started believing in Sasquatch, I've believed the Patterson footage was real. In fact, I've used the footage countless times to defend the existence of these creatures. I really want that footage to be real. I actually went into this hoping I wouldn't see anything that would change my mind. First off, the documentary is incredibly well done, and despite what some people have been saying, it's not an attack on Sasquatch itself or the people in it.
19:45 I guess the only part I wasn't really a fan of is the part at the Yakima conference because I don't think Bob could hear what was being said. Clint Patterson really pulls at your heartstrings and you learn a lot about his family, especially his dad. There's a very human side to the story that I think deserves some compassion. What really got me was watching legends like Larry Lunn, and Dr. Jeff Meldrum come to the conclusion that the footage is staged, and then hearing both D'Atlee's wife and Roger Patterson's wife come to similar conclusions, that was definitely a blow. Now for the hidden footage, I was pretty stunned. What I saw looked an awful lot like Patty. The back, the legs, the arms, the buttocks, even the breasts. The resemblance was striking. The one thing that stood out to me as different was the face. Seeing Bob in the hidden footage was shocking. Like, why is he being filmed with what appears to be a female Sasquatch costume? And for decades, we've been told that a costume as convincing as Patty simply couldn't have been made in 1967. Yet here we are looking at footage from that same era showing a costume that looks just as good. I'm not sure how to reconcile that. I'd really like to hear Bob address some of these questions because I think there's still a lot that needs to be explained. I understand
21:16 why this is upsetting to people. Bob is so beloved by many in the Bigfoot community, and I know this documentary has stirred up some really strong emotions. I really hope that we can show each other a little bit more compassion. We should be able to disagree and question things, We should be able to change our minds without tearing each other apart in the process. I've personally been on the receiving end of some pretty horrible lies and bullying in this community, and I know how damaging that can be. I'm certainly not going to turn around and do that to somebody else. I'm also not going to let anyone bully me into ignoring evidence or being afraid to ask questions.
21:58 I'm interested in the truth, and that's really it. Whether the Patterson footage is real or not does not determine whether Sasquatch exists. I've seen these creatures with my own eyes, and I live on a reservation surrounded by folks that have seen the same. I don't need a piece of film from 1967 to validate what I've personally experienced. But I also recognize that this subject attracts people who desperately want to produce that one piece of undeniable evidence. They want to validate what they've seen. And unfortunately, history has shown us that some people are willing to go to extreme lengths to do that. I'm not quite ready to draw a conclusion. That might sound crazy to some people, but I just need some more answers. I'm going to wait until the 20th before being firm. I want to take a closer look at this new footage, really dissect what I'm seeing. and hopefully get some answers to the questions that are still hanging out there. At the end of the day, the truth should matter more than any one person, any one film, or any belief we've held onto.
23:11 And if we're genuinely searching for the truth, we have to be willing to follow the evidence, even when it takes us somewhere we didn't want to go. Until then, peace in the Bigfoot community. And if you've had a Bigfoot encounter of your own, I would love to hear from you. You can send me an email with your encounter at bigfootsociety at gmail.com. I've come out with a free report about the top 10 Bigfoot hotspots. You can go over to bit.ly forward slash BFS report. I'm Jeremiah Byron.
