Veteran Comes Face-To-Face With Giant Sasquatch In Utah’s Ogden Canyon Mountains

Veteran Comes Face-To-Face With Giant Sasquatch In Utah’s Ogden Canyon Mountains

In this episode, an Army veteran and lifelong Bigfoot researcher shares chilling first-hand encounters with massive Sasquatch in Northern Utah’s Ogden Canyon and Monte Cristo Range. What began as a late-night drive through the Wasatch Mountains turned into a terrifying face-to-face encounter with an eight-foot-tall humanoid figure, complete with eye shine, a human-like scowl, and overwhelming presence.

Years later, during a winter trip above Pineview Reservoir, the witness experiences a second encounter—this time involving two Sasquatch, including what appeared to be an older and younger individual displaying protective behavior. He describes strange vocalizations, cloaking or camouflage-like movement, enormous tracks in the snow, and a tense standoff that ended without violence.

1
00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:02.839
You're listening to Big for Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron.

2
00:00:03.040 --> 00:00:05.639
In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to

3
00:00:05.679 --> 00:00:08.400
bring you first hand encounters from people who say they've

4
00:00:08.439 --> 00:00:12.759
seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers

5
00:00:12.800 --> 00:00:16.719
to quiet farms and crowded highways. The stories come from everywhere,

6
00:00:16.760 --> 00:00:19.719
and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.

7
00:00:20.719 --> 00:00:24.000
These are the voices of the people who've lived it.

8
00:00:24.079 --> 00:00:27.440
To settle in, because today you'll hear another account that

9
00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:30.120
just might change the way you see the woods forever.

10
00:00:30.440 --> 00:00:31.879
So stay with us, all.

11
00:00:31.839 --> 00:00:34.479
Right, Big for Society, Welcome back to another episode. We've

12
00:00:34.479 --> 00:00:36.920
got mister Matt Anderson on the show.

13
00:00:36.960 --> 00:00:37.320
Today.

14
00:00:38.039 --> 00:00:41.840
We got connected about a situation that Matt ran into

15
00:00:42.119 --> 00:00:45.880
out there in northern Utah. Welcome to the show, Matt.

16
00:00:45.880 --> 00:00:46.719
How are you doing today?

17
00:00:47.359 --> 00:00:49.039
Thanks for having me. I'm doing great yourself.

18
00:00:49.960 --> 00:00:53.560
Absolutely, It's actually not too cold out here in Iowa today,

19
00:00:53.600 --> 00:00:57.759
so we're digging that. A few things about Matt that

20
00:00:58.240 --> 00:01:01.399
listeners will want to know. He is an Army veteran.

21
00:01:01.880 --> 00:01:05.439
Thank you for your service. Definitely with that, Matt. And also,

22
00:01:05.920 --> 00:01:08.799
we were talking a little bit before the show how

23
00:01:08.840 --> 00:01:13.159
he would categorize himself. And he's been into the Bigfoot

24
00:01:13.159 --> 00:01:14.920
for about a year and he's kind of at the

25
00:01:14.920 --> 00:01:20.040
point where enthusiast turned researcher, and there is that turning point,

26
00:01:20.079 --> 00:01:23.159
so he's getting out there. You're actually getting out there

27
00:01:23.200 --> 00:01:25.920
quite a bit. And we'll probably talk about that later.

28
00:01:26.000 --> 00:01:29.120
But anything else that the listeners would would need to

29
00:01:29.159 --> 00:01:30.760
know about you, Matt before we get started.

30
00:01:31.760 --> 00:01:34.439
Well, so I've been doing the research on and off

31
00:01:34.480 --> 00:01:38.120
for about a year, but I've been into the subject,

32
00:01:38.879 --> 00:01:41.640
I don't know, since I was five, so probably close

33
00:01:41.680 --> 00:01:44.840
to thirty years thirty five years, so ever since I

34
00:01:44.840 --> 00:01:48.200
could read, I've been picking up and reading big Foot books.

35
00:01:48.480 --> 00:01:52.920
Oh okay, was there a certain book that got you

36
00:01:53.319 --> 00:01:55.560
hooked onto it or a movie or anything like that.

37
00:01:55.599 --> 00:01:58.959
Well, I think, honestly, if I was honest, I think

38
00:01:58.959 --> 00:02:00.719
it was my dad that got me turned on to it.

39
00:02:00.799 --> 00:02:03.560
He had and in sort of an encounter he used

40
00:02:03.599 --> 00:02:05.680
to cut Christmas trees back in the day, him and

41
00:02:05.719 --> 00:02:08.719
my uncle did Christmas trees, and he told me the

42
00:02:08.840 --> 00:02:12.560
story about that he him and my uncle smelled something

43
00:02:12.680 --> 00:02:16.240
or heard something up in Billings, Montana, and ever since then,

44
00:02:16.280 --> 00:02:19.159
I've been hooked, and I found books in the libraries

45
00:02:19.159 --> 00:02:22.560
that talked about all the you know, the Albert Osman's

46
00:02:22.560 --> 00:02:26.360
story and all those So I've I've been hooked since then,

47
00:02:26.439 --> 00:02:28.879
and I think it's just recently I've been able to

48
00:02:28.919 --> 00:02:32.280
actually get out and do more of a more actual

49
00:02:32.400 --> 00:02:34.599
on the ground research and get into it more.

50
00:02:35.439 --> 00:02:36.039
That's awesome.

51
00:02:36.120 --> 00:02:38.840
Yeah, so you were into the classics from an early age.

52
00:02:38.879 --> 00:02:42.639
I mean, the Albert Osman story is a definite classic

53
00:02:43.879 --> 00:02:45.840
listeners check that out if you haven't already.

54
00:02:46.240 --> 00:02:46.960
But was there a.

55
00:02:46.960 --> 00:02:53.000
Thing that made you do the switch over to actually

56
00:02:53.919 --> 00:02:57.360
starting to go out into the woods and the mountains

57
00:02:57.400 --> 00:02:59.560
to see if you could figure out anything yourself.

58
00:03:01.599 --> 00:03:06.039
I honestly think it it was probably my wife just

59
00:03:06.120 --> 00:03:08.120
kind of given me the opportunity to go out and

60
00:03:08.120 --> 00:03:11.120
do it. With doing my schedule used to be so

61
00:03:11.280 --> 00:03:13.039
packed and everything that I never thought that I could

62
00:03:13.039 --> 00:03:15.080
actually get out and do the things I wanted to do,

63
00:03:16.120 --> 00:03:19.120
and she just she pushed. She's helped me do like

64
00:03:19.199 --> 00:03:21.960
reach out and get my goals. And you know, ever

65
00:03:21.960 --> 00:03:25.039
since I was little, my mom I had awards from

66
00:03:25.080 --> 00:03:27.719
school you know, just uh, you know, bigfoot hunter and

67
00:03:27.759 --> 00:03:30.520
stuff like that, and I just never thought it would

68
00:03:30.560 --> 00:03:32.680
be possible for me to actually get out and do

69
00:03:32.759 --> 00:03:36.400
the research. And she's pushed me to my goals and

70
00:03:36.439 --> 00:03:38.400
has helped me and supported me along the way. So

71
00:03:38.439 --> 00:03:42.280
I think that's that's pretty much what it has got

72
00:03:42.280 --> 00:03:43.960
me out there to do, is like, you know, like

73
00:03:44.199 --> 00:03:45.840
making believe anything's possible.

74
00:03:45.919 --> 00:03:49.360
Now, I'm going to go ahead and pass the mic

75
00:03:49.439 --> 00:03:52.599
over to you and and take us back to when

76
00:03:52.719 --> 00:03:57.479
this particular encounter happened to you that you had shared

77
00:03:57.520 --> 00:03:58.680
with me earlier.

78
00:03:59.520 --> 00:04:02.000
All right, So there was two encounters that I had

79
00:04:02.039 --> 00:04:06.560
in there, and they're both within ten miles of each other.

80
00:04:07.120 --> 00:04:09.840
So the first one, I'm trying to remember the date exactly.

81
00:04:09.879 --> 00:04:14.400
I think it was a fall of two thousand and four.

82
00:04:15.800 --> 00:04:17.920
I was up with the girl that I was dating

83
00:04:17.959 --> 00:04:20.360
at the time. We were up just driving around in

84
00:04:20.399 --> 00:04:23.480
the back with the mountains, and so it got late

85
00:04:23.519 --> 00:04:26.680
and we're leaving, you know, And I had to trying

86
00:04:26.720 --> 00:04:29.120
to remember exactly that was while we were leaving, but

87
00:04:29.240 --> 00:04:31.560
it was late. We were heading out and the road

88
00:04:31.600 --> 00:04:34.120
that was on it switched backs. It like I think

89
00:04:34.160 --> 00:04:37.199
you go up in almost five hundred feet in elevation

90
00:04:37.279 --> 00:04:41.040
on the switchbacks, and I hit the first switchback coming up,

91
00:04:41.680 --> 00:04:43.480
and at the time, I had a ninety six Bronco,

92
00:04:43.720 --> 00:04:45.279
you know, and I had it straight pipe thought I

93
00:04:45.319 --> 00:04:47.199
was cool and all that stuff in a loud truck.

94
00:04:48.079 --> 00:04:51.279
So I was coming up driving fairly nice because she

95
00:04:51.319 --> 00:04:54.120
didn't like it when I hot rotted it on dirt roads.

96
00:04:54.600 --> 00:04:56.720
So I'm driving nice. They hit this switch back and

97
00:04:56.800 --> 00:05:01.439
my headlights pat something I seen eye shine and you know,

98
00:05:02.319 --> 00:05:04.759
always being into it, I was like, did I just think?

99
00:05:04.879 --> 00:05:07.920
Did I see what I thought I seen? And so

100
00:05:08.000 --> 00:05:10.319
I stopped and throw it in reverse and she's like, well,

101
00:05:10.560 --> 00:05:12.199
can we just keep going? I was like, did you

102
00:05:12.199 --> 00:05:14.199
see it? She said, yes, I seen it, and I'm

103
00:05:14.240 --> 00:05:16.399
backing up trying to I want to and she starts

104
00:05:16.480 --> 00:05:20.160
almost crying at this point, wanting to leave, and so

105
00:05:21.240 --> 00:05:24.319
I start going out and she's like, hey, can we

106
00:05:24.360 --> 00:05:26.639
go a little faster? And I was like, okay, So

107
00:05:26.680 --> 00:05:28.560
I'm going faster, and by the time I got to

108
00:05:28.639 --> 00:05:31.120
the point where it was fast enough for her, I

109
00:05:31.199 --> 00:05:33.959
was doing sixty to sixty five miles an hour. And

110
00:05:34.040 --> 00:05:36.040
I told her, I said, nothing's going to catch us

111
00:05:36.160 --> 00:05:39.000
at this point because she's wanted to leave fast. It's

112
00:05:39.040 --> 00:05:41.480
like there's nothing in North America that's gonna catch us.

113
00:05:41.519 --> 00:05:43.680
You know, there's cheetahs an't here and we're not, you know.

114
00:05:44.279 --> 00:05:47.240
And so we get out, and I think I talked

115
00:05:47.399 --> 00:05:50.160
it to a couple people, and even to this day,

116
00:05:50.680 --> 00:05:54.079
I don't think we've really even she's never talked about it.

117
00:05:54.360 --> 00:05:56.800
Like I've talked about it with some people and she

118
00:05:57.000 --> 00:06:00.480
kind of goes, yeah, you know, uh, never really brings

119
00:06:00.519 --> 00:06:05.680
it up. But that happened. Then I've gone back into

120
00:06:05.680 --> 00:06:09.240
the area and looked in the area and the creature

121
00:06:09.959 --> 00:06:11.879
what it like. I'm pretty sure it was bigfoot. I

122
00:06:11.920 --> 00:06:13.959
don't really like condum creatures, you know, because we know

123
00:06:14.000 --> 00:06:19.160
what it is. He was probably about eight foot tall,

124
00:06:19.439 --> 00:06:23.959
like if if you know, in that area. All I

125
00:06:24.079 --> 00:06:26.560
seen was his face, and so it was a quick

126
00:06:26.600 --> 00:06:29.040
glance because it had like just passing over his face

127
00:06:29.720 --> 00:06:31.959
and he was not very happy that I was there.

128
00:06:33.360 --> 00:06:36.600
What I can equate it to his facial expression was

129
00:06:37.279 --> 00:06:39.959
the movie Grand Trina with Clint Eastwood when he's mad

130
00:06:40.079 --> 00:06:44.519
scatting but they're on there lawn ah and like it

131
00:06:44.720 --> 00:06:47.879
just like he had. Really I seen his face, like

132
00:06:47.959 --> 00:06:50.160
his you can see kind of how I got a beard,

133
00:06:50.160 --> 00:06:52.439
but his beard was higher, and you just seen his

134
00:06:52.519 --> 00:06:55.240
eyes and he had more of a round it head,

135
00:06:55.240 --> 00:06:58.160
not a conical head, which threw me off, you know,

136
00:06:58.279 --> 00:07:00.800
because it's you hear these stories about the conical heads

137
00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:05.720
all the time, and like trying to because I didn't

138
00:07:05.720 --> 00:07:07.600
really want to say I blocked out of my mind.

139
00:07:07.759 --> 00:07:10.040
But it just never got brought up, even though that

140
00:07:10.040 --> 00:07:14.000
I was into the subject so much. And that was

141
00:07:14.480 --> 00:07:17.279
two thousand and four, and so you know, I went

142
00:07:17.319 --> 00:07:20.959
through life me and so I married that girl. We

143
00:07:21.000 --> 00:07:23.680
ended up getting divorced, but we're still friends now and

144
00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:26.519
so we kind of talked. I tried to talk to

145
00:07:26.560 --> 00:07:28.439
her about it every now and then, but she just

146
00:07:28.480 --> 00:07:30.560
doesn't really like bringing it up, so I leave it alone.

147
00:07:32.360 --> 00:07:35.360
And then the next encounter I had was in twenty twenty.

148
00:07:36.120 --> 00:07:39.000
I had taken everything was shut down and I was

149
00:07:39.040 --> 00:07:41.519
getting my son into hunter safety. He was twelve at

150
00:07:41.560 --> 00:07:44.800
the time. And the area that I was going so

151
00:07:44.879 --> 00:07:47.240
he could take him out and do his shooting because

152
00:07:47.800 --> 00:07:49.720
we had to take him out to film it and

153
00:07:49.759 --> 00:07:53.360
do all these things with him. The area I wanted

154
00:07:53.399 --> 00:07:55.240
to go to they had a gate, so we took

155
00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:57.639
the side by side and there wasn't we didn't have

156
00:07:57.720 --> 00:07:59.759
very much snow that year, and so I was able

157
00:07:59.759 --> 00:08:01.720
to get it up pretty far with the side by

158
00:08:01.720 --> 00:08:04.480
side and still be on the asphalt road. And I

159
00:08:04.480 --> 00:08:06.759
took him into this spot and we did our shooting.

160
00:08:06.879 --> 00:08:08.759
He did all this stuff he needed to do, so

161
00:08:08.800 --> 00:08:10.759
I was like, all right, well we're done, let's let's

162
00:08:10.800 --> 00:08:12.839
play around on the side by sides. We're playing in

163
00:08:12.879 --> 00:08:15.399
the snow, and I want to go down this road

164
00:08:15.439 --> 00:08:18.120
and nobody there's no tracks, so we're gonna be the

165
00:08:18.160 --> 00:08:22.160
first people down there. And I just felt like I

166
00:08:22.160 --> 00:08:25.160
shouldn't be going down there, like it was a main

167
00:08:25.240 --> 00:08:27.000
like it's a main road, not a main road, but

168
00:08:27.000 --> 00:08:29.360
a dirt road in the summertime. And there was probably

169
00:08:29.360 --> 00:08:31.800
about a foot of snow. And then like, well, we'll

170
00:08:31.839 --> 00:08:34.360
just turn around. We're head home, Like I just fell off.

171
00:08:35.039 --> 00:08:37.879
So we start heading down back down the asphalt and

172
00:08:37.919 --> 00:08:41.639
we got power lines that run through the mountains, and

173
00:08:41.679 --> 00:08:45.000
you know, they cross over the roads and everything, and

174
00:08:45.039 --> 00:08:47.600
I and we're getting black bears back in our area

175
00:08:48.279 --> 00:08:52.320
and then passing this, uh this I wouldn't even call

176
00:08:52.360 --> 00:08:54.799
it a meadow, but we're passing underneath the power lines

177
00:08:54.799 --> 00:08:57.559
of where it's cut out and the power lines have

178
00:08:57.639 --> 00:09:01.399
that fur fur furrol fare if you. I look up

179
00:09:01.399 --> 00:09:03.919
to my right and I see something in it. At first,

180
00:09:03.960 --> 00:09:05.840
I think it was a black bear, like standing up

181
00:09:05.879 --> 00:09:08.200
next to a tree. So I said, oh, that's neat,

182
00:09:08.240 --> 00:09:11.039
and I didn't say anything to him. But I start

183
00:09:11.080 --> 00:09:13.440
looking again, I'm like, that wasn't a black bear. So

184
00:09:13.480 --> 00:09:17.159
I had passed it. I stopped, put it reverse and

185
00:09:17.200 --> 00:09:20.200
backed up. And as I'm backing up, I actually put

186
00:09:20.240 --> 00:09:22.639
it the side by side in the ditch on accident,

187
00:09:22.679 --> 00:09:25.879
trying to get back quick. So I tell my kid.

188
00:09:25.919 --> 00:09:29.200
I said, hey, stay here. He's like okay, and he's like,

189
00:09:29.240 --> 00:09:30.159
what do you doing. I was like, just stay here,

190
00:09:30.200 --> 00:09:32.240
don't worry about it. So I get out and I

191
00:09:32.320 --> 00:09:34.159
start walking up into the trees and I can see

192
00:09:34.159 --> 00:09:39.440
it and the way it was kind of like I

193
00:09:39.519 --> 00:09:42.480
described before as a reflective light. But that that doesn't

194
00:09:42.480 --> 00:09:45.840
make sense now that I'm thinking about it. But you know,

195
00:09:45.879 --> 00:09:47.720
as you're driving down the freeway, and I got those

196
00:09:48.559 --> 00:09:50.879
billboards or whatever that as you're looking at it one way,

197
00:09:51.000 --> 00:09:53.279
it says something. As you pass it another way, the

198
00:09:53.360 --> 00:09:57.200
angles change. It's kind of looked like, really, I don't

199
00:09:57.200 --> 00:10:00.720
want to say blocky but like a pixelated almost And

200
00:10:00.799 --> 00:10:03.720
as I stand behind this tree, it wasn't a very

201
00:10:03.720 --> 00:10:06.360
thick tree. It was enough to kind of cover my

202
00:10:06.399 --> 00:10:08.440
mid section, but I could, like you did still see

203
00:10:08.440 --> 00:10:12.200
me on the outside of it, Uh pull a rout.

204
00:10:12.279 --> 00:10:15.840
Like I stand around this tree and it's standing broadside

205
00:10:15.879 --> 00:10:18.200
to me, about fifty yards away, and you know, I

206
00:10:18.240 --> 00:10:20.360
was like, uh, I kind of froze for a little bit.

207
00:10:20.360 --> 00:10:23.279
And we're standing and standing each other i'd say five

208
00:10:23.360 --> 00:10:26.080
ten seconds, and he let out a huff and all

209
00:10:26.200 --> 00:10:29.679
like like he was standing in his ground like you know,

210
00:10:29.759 --> 00:10:32.559
getting like tense and up, and I pulled my side

211
00:10:32.639 --> 00:10:35.320
arm out and dropped back to my knee and uh,

212
00:10:35.679 --> 00:10:38.799
like back behind the tree, and we're just standing there

213
00:10:38.879 --> 00:10:44.159
looking at each other, and a and another one stepped

214
00:10:44.159 --> 00:10:47.360
out in front of him in a protective manner, and

215
00:10:47.919 --> 00:10:51.080
it I I can't you know, I don't know for sure,

216
00:10:51.080 --> 00:10:52.480
but I think it was the one that I seen

217
00:10:53.200 --> 00:10:55.639
in two thousand and four, Like it was his. He

218
00:10:55.720 --> 00:10:59.200
was older, looked the facial everything looked the same. His

219
00:10:59.279 --> 00:11:04.840
goatee was gray but thicker and like he at this point,

220
00:11:04.919 --> 00:11:08.399
it looked like a His head looked like a conical head.

221
00:11:08.759 --> 00:11:10.799
But I think it's because he had a receding hairline,

222
00:11:10.879 --> 00:11:14.279
like it was going back, and his when he stepped

223
00:11:14.279 --> 00:11:18.679
out in front his like the whole demeanor of the

224
00:11:18.720 --> 00:11:24.360
situation changed, like everything just calmed down. Like the younger one.

225
00:11:24.399 --> 00:11:26.080
I think it was like a father son or a

226
00:11:26.120 --> 00:11:30.360
grandpa and son or grandpa and grandson, because the other one,

227
00:11:30.399 --> 00:11:33.679
the younger one, was you can tell that he was

228
00:11:33.720 --> 00:11:36.919
just more stout and more filled out. And you know,

229
00:11:37.000 --> 00:11:40.480
he was a darker not a darker gray, but his

230
00:11:40.480 --> 00:11:43.840
his skin was a gray and he was darker black

231
00:11:44.000 --> 00:11:47.200
like his hair was. And when the older one stepped out,

232
00:11:47.200 --> 00:11:48.799
he had a salt and pepper look like you could

233
00:11:48.840 --> 00:11:52.399
just tell he was older. His goatee was bushy, and

234
00:11:52.559 --> 00:11:55.480
he wrinkles in his face, and it looked like the

235
00:11:55.519 --> 00:12:00.759
one that I seen earlier. And so like when the

236
00:12:00.799 --> 00:12:03.399
situation calm down, and still sitting there on my knee

237
00:12:03.399 --> 00:12:07.519
with my pistol, and like I felt like everything like

238
00:12:07.600 --> 00:12:09.559
it wasn't gonna attack. Neither of them were gonna attack.

239
00:12:09.919 --> 00:12:12.039
So I was like, oh, I need to take a picture.

240
00:12:12.759 --> 00:12:18.879
And then I was like, oh, sorry, my kid has

241
00:12:18.919 --> 00:12:22.200
my phone. Oh my kid's by himself and the side

242
00:12:22.200 --> 00:12:26.080
by side, and so I retracted back down there. We

243
00:12:26.120 --> 00:12:27.919
got in the side by side, or I got jumped

244
00:12:27.960 --> 00:12:29.480
in and he was like, would you see and I

245
00:12:29.519 --> 00:12:31.720
was like nothing, and I took off out of there.

246
00:12:32.240 --> 00:12:34.279
I he knew something was up because I was going

247
00:12:34.559 --> 00:12:37.159
down a lot faster down the mountain road than we

248
00:12:37.200 --> 00:12:41.840
did coming up. So I took him back. I told

249
00:12:41.879 --> 00:12:45.879
my wife, said, hey, I've seen something. I contacted the

250
00:12:45.879 --> 00:12:48.759
guy that does he's been doing bigfoot research in Utah

251
00:12:48.879 --> 00:12:52.960
for quite a while. He's like and he's he said,

252
00:12:53.000 --> 00:12:54.960
I'm just leaving Logan now I can meet you back

253
00:12:55.039 --> 00:12:57.720
up there in an hour, and I said okay. So

254
00:12:57.799 --> 00:13:00.399
we went back up. I dropped my boy off, I

255
00:13:01.279 --> 00:13:04.399
grabbed my rifle instead of just my side arm, just

256
00:13:04.399 --> 00:13:07.639
just in case, you know. I went back up with

257
00:13:07.799 --> 00:13:10.679
him and we went back to the area and documented.

258
00:13:11.360 --> 00:13:14.519
So there was tracks and it looked like they were

259
00:13:14.559 --> 00:13:20.039
walking in each other's tracks. And he told me that

260
00:13:20.120 --> 00:13:22.120
he's seen it a lot, that they try to cover

261
00:13:22.279 --> 00:13:25.879
how many are in their group. But they walked from

262
00:13:26.159 --> 00:13:28.919
like from where I was standing trying to think. So

263
00:13:29.600 --> 00:13:32.279
the road was going north and so I walked into

264
00:13:32.360 --> 00:13:35.440
the east side of the going up east side of

265
00:13:35.440 --> 00:13:37.759
the mountain, and so I was facing east and he

266
00:13:37.840 --> 00:13:42.639
was facing west, and so the tracks came from the north,

267
00:13:43.360 --> 00:13:46.320
wrapped around the trees and the power lines, and where

268
00:13:46.320 --> 00:13:49.159
the power lines opened up, they skirted the edge of

269
00:13:49.200 --> 00:13:52.159
the trees and walked down the hill like they were

270
00:13:52.200 --> 00:13:57.320
walking down heading towards town, if you will. And they

271
00:13:57.360 --> 00:13:59.120
went and we followed as far as we'd go until

272
00:13:59.120 --> 00:14:02.080
they went into private broad and so we stopped there.

273
00:14:02.399 --> 00:14:06.639
And then later on, like a week or two later,

274
00:14:06.960 --> 00:14:10.480
I went back up and put up game cameras. It's

275
00:14:10.519 --> 00:14:14.919
actually this time of year that that happened in twenty twenty,

276
00:14:14.960 --> 00:14:16.759
so it was in December. I think it was December

277
00:14:17.360 --> 00:14:21.120
fifth that the incident happened, if I remember correctly. So

278
00:14:21.200 --> 00:14:23.080
we went up about this time of year in twenty

279
00:14:23.120 --> 00:14:27.360
twenty and set up game cameras, but I think everything

280
00:14:27.440 --> 00:14:32.360
was out of the area by that chant by that time. Wow,

281
00:14:32.440 --> 00:14:34.759
that was that was those encounters.

282
00:14:35.600 --> 00:14:38.320
Some wild stuff right off to bat Matt, My goodness,

283
00:14:38.879 --> 00:14:43.120
are are we able to discuss it all?

284
00:14:44.559 --> 00:14:44.679
Well?

285
00:14:44.720 --> 00:14:50.600
I guess the areas where these two sightings happened. It

286
00:14:50.639 --> 00:14:53.039
doesn't have to be super specific. If you don't want to.

287
00:14:53.639 --> 00:14:57.080
Oh yeah, So it is a it's up Ogden Canyon

288
00:14:57.200 --> 00:14:59.159
and you go up it's the Monte Crystal range of

289
00:14:59.200 --> 00:15:02.039
the Wahsage mounta Ones and the area that the first

290
00:15:02.120 --> 00:15:06.240
encounter happened is called Curtis Creek. And so the road

291
00:15:06.279 --> 00:15:08.559
I was on it was right out of ARBs Basin

292
00:15:10.279 --> 00:15:12.720
and Curtis Creek is down further, like it's just Curtis

293
00:15:12.720 --> 00:15:14.759
Creek Road. That's kind of what it's known as in

294
00:15:14.840 --> 00:15:18.279
this area. And I'm trying to remember the name of

295
00:15:18.320 --> 00:15:24.200
that highway that goes up there. It's everybody calls it

296
00:15:24.279 --> 00:15:28.559
like it's up by Aunt Flat Road. It connects Weaver

297
00:15:28.720 --> 00:15:33.200
Canyon or Ogden Canyon, sorry to Logan Canyon. Ant Flat

298
00:15:33.279 --> 00:15:35.679
Road does. And I've thought to a lot of people

299
00:15:35.679 --> 00:15:38.759
and they get weird. They don't say bigfoot, They're like, yeah,

300
00:15:38.919 --> 00:15:43.919
something's throwing rocks at me. So that area has stuff

301
00:15:43.960 --> 00:15:46.799
happening in it, and I go up there quite a bit.

302
00:15:48.080 --> 00:15:52.000
It's also near let's see, it's it's close to Snow

303
00:15:52.000 --> 00:15:55.159
Basin Ski Resort, sorry, not snow based in Powder Mountain.

304
00:15:56.279 --> 00:15:58.960
So if anybody knows what that area is, it's in

305
00:15:59.039 --> 00:16:01.840
that area above of Pineview Reservoir.

306
00:16:03.639 --> 00:16:08.120
Gotcha, and it sounds like it's a pretty active area.

307
00:16:08.159 --> 00:16:14.279
I did a quick search and there's bfros BFROL reports

308
00:16:14.799 --> 00:16:18.360
in this range going all the way back to seventy

309
00:16:18.399 --> 00:16:24.080
seven for sightings, which is pretty cool that there have been.

310
00:16:24.159 --> 00:16:26.879
There's a sighting in seventy seven, there's one in ninety nine,

311
00:16:29.039 --> 00:16:36.679
very very cool stuff. So the area where you had

312
00:16:36.679 --> 00:16:39.440
the visual in two thousand and four and then the

313
00:16:39.480 --> 00:16:43.080
area in twenty twenty, how far away from each other

314
00:16:43.120 --> 00:16:44.879
are those areas.

315
00:16:45.320 --> 00:16:51.120
As the crow flies. I would say probably ten miles,

316
00:16:51.200 --> 00:16:53.000
but like if you're on the road fall on the road,

317
00:16:53.039 --> 00:16:58.399
you're probably close to fifteen maybe, Yeah, So they're not

318
00:16:58.639 --> 00:17:03.879
very far apart. It's very close in proximity of each

319
00:17:03.919 --> 00:17:04.799
other where they're at.

320
00:17:06.279 --> 00:17:09.759
Gotcha. With the two thousand and four visual you had

321
00:17:09.839 --> 00:17:15.480
used the you had used the idea of like it

322
00:17:15.519 --> 00:17:19.440
looked like Clint Eastwood in Grand Tarino. And was that

323
00:17:19.559 --> 00:17:22.359
because of the emotion it was conveying or because it

324
00:17:22.480 --> 00:17:25.960
actually had some very human like features to the face.

325
00:17:26.559 --> 00:17:28.160
I'd say a little bit of both. It was the

326
00:17:28.160 --> 00:17:31.720
emotions that it put off, but it was very I'd

327
00:17:31.759 --> 00:17:34.960
say it was. And with my encounters. I know everybody's

328
00:17:34.960 --> 00:17:37.519
had different encounters on what they look like, but I

329
00:17:37.559 --> 00:17:39.720
have a hard time when everybody says that they're it

330
00:17:39.839 --> 00:17:43.440
was an ape like, but it so because what I

331
00:17:43.519 --> 00:17:46.279
seen was very human like. It was the the emotions,

332
00:17:46.359 --> 00:17:48.880
the scal like and I didn't see much of the

333
00:17:49.000 --> 00:17:51.519
lips because it was covered in hair and it it

334
00:17:51.559 --> 00:17:55.160
looked like a beard, not like like fur, you know,

335
00:17:55.400 --> 00:17:58.480
it was it was a beard and he had the

336
00:17:58.519 --> 00:18:06.759
you know, the the froud brow and it was very human.

337
00:18:06.880 --> 00:18:08.960
So that's as much as it looked human.

338
00:18:10.720 --> 00:18:11.160
Gotcha?

339
00:18:11.559 --> 00:18:13.880
How many seconds and all would you say the two

340
00:18:13.920 --> 00:18:15.559
thousand and four to one last lasted?

341
00:18:17.279 --> 00:18:20.000
I'd say five, like cause I was I was doing

342
00:18:20.039 --> 00:18:23.440
probably twenty five around the bend, maybe slower, but it

343
00:18:23.519 --> 00:18:26.359
was just my headlights passed it and I seen it,

344
00:18:26.400 --> 00:18:28.880
and I watched until the headlights passed, my head turned

345
00:18:29.640 --> 00:18:31.680
and then I hit the brakes. Well, I mean this

346
00:18:31.880 --> 00:18:35.119
sight sighting scene, it was about five seconds, but we

347
00:18:35.119 --> 00:18:39.359
were down there for probably twenty thirty me backing up

348
00:18:39.440 --> 00:18:42.039
trying to get back to see it, and my girlfriend

349
00:18:42.039 --> 00:18:44.640
at the time, like we were going back and forth

350
00:18:44.640 --> 00:18:46.920
about trying to get back up over there. So i'd

351
00:18:47.000 --> 00:18:50.039
only backed up. I probably drove past the site for

352
00:18:50.200 --> 00:18:53.359
about twenty thirty feet and I only backed up probably fifteen.

353
00:18:53.880 --> 00:18:58.000
Gotcha, did it seem to be doing anything when you

354
00:18:58.279 --> 00:19:01.640
first had the vision of it? Was it doing any actions?

355
00:19:02.279 --> 00:19:07.039
He just standing there staring like I'm sure the feeling

356
00:19:07.039 --> 00:19:08.319
that I got is that he was mad that I

357
00:19:08.359 --> 00:19:13.279
was there, like I was disrupting his peace, Like because

358
00:19:13.319 --> 00:19:16.440
my truck was loud, I was. I wasn't driving fast.

359
00:19:17.319 --> 00:19:19.680
I feel like I was driving fast for the conditions.

360
00:19:19.680 --> 00:19:21.519
I shouldn't have been driving as fast as I was,

361
00:19:22.119 --> 00:19:27.799
especially on that road end at night. But like that's

362
00:19:27.799 --> 00:19:30.519
how I just felt like he was like like dang kids,

363
00:19:30.559 --> 00:19:33.640
you know, or like you know, like someone's hot rodding

364
00:19:33.680 --> 00:19:35.680
down my road. That's what it felt like.

365
00:19:37.440 --> 00:19:43.559
Yeah, absolutely, man, that's that is so so weird. For

366
00:19:43.599 --> 00:19:48.000
the twenty twenty sighting where you had the visual of

367
00:19:48.039 --> 00:19:50.599
one by the tree, it sounds like it's kind of

368
00:19:50.839 --> 00:19:55.400
a similar experience that it was just standing there alhen

369
00:19:55.400 --> 00:19:55.960
I first saw.

370
00:19:55.920 --> 00:19:59.000
It, Yeah, when I because when I rounded this the

371
00:19:59.400 --> 00:20:03.240
location with on a bend, it come around and it bent,

372
00:20:04.079 --> 00:20:06.200
and uh, I was just kind of looking, you know,

373
00:20:06.359 --> 00:20:09.480
just watching and I seen it and it when I

374
00:20:09.559 --> 00:20:12.319
first seen it, because I thought it was a like

375
00:20:12.359 --> 00:20:15.039
a black bear scratching its back on the tree. That's

376
00:20:15.079 --> 00:20:17.200
what I thought. And then it looked harder and looked

377
00:20:17.279 --> 00:20:21.559
looked back like that's not a black bear like it was.

378
00:20:21.680 --> 00:20:25.440
It was massive. The first creature or the first big foot,

379
00:20:25.680 --> 00:20:30.079
he was probably eight and a half foot and like

380
00:20:30.119 --> 00:20:33.039
the the younger one, I guess, I'll say I refering

381
00:20:33.039 --> 00:20:35.200
to the younger one, he was probably eight and a

382
00:20:35.200 --> 00:20:37.440
half foot. The older one was a little shorter, but

383
00:20:37.519 --> 00:20:40.039
it looked like he was kind of a I wouldn't

384
00:20:40.039 --> 00:20:45.319
say hunchback, but like not as not as proud. I

385
00:20:45.319 --> 00:20:47.000
guess that's like, you know, he didn't have his shoulders

386
00:20:47.000 --> 00:20:50.000
held his high, but he was just as wide. You know.

387
00:20:50.079 --> 00:20:52.279
It looked like a piece of plywood sitting there just

388
00:20:52.640 --> 00:20:57.240
there they were. They were massive. Uh. And when I

389
00:20:57.240 --> 00:20:59.119
I refer it to, uh, do you know who Brian

390
00:20:59.160 --> 00:21:01.039
Shaw is world strong man?

391
00:21:02.319 --> 00:21:02.920
I believe so.

392
00:21:03.039 --> 00:21:06.720
Yeah, that's like his stature is what it reminded me of.

393
00:21:06.960 --> 00:21:09.240
Is it just how big he was and the muscle

394
00:21:09.279 --> 00:21:14.680
density like you like, and I think and like when

395
00:21:14.720 --> 00:21:17.640
I'm looking thinking back on it, you couldn't really see

396
00:21:17.680 --> 00:21:21.359
too much of skin. You could see gray underlinings, but

397
00:21:21.400 --> 00:21:23.319
it felt like maybe they had a winter coat on

398
00:21:23.440 --> 00:21:28.000
or something like. The skin the hair was thicker and

399
00:21:28.200 --> 00:21:30.119
it was just like, you know, it was thick on

400
00:21:30.160 --> 00:21:32.720
the chest and throughout the whole body. But you could

401
00:21:32.759 --> 00:21:37.599
see you could see things, you know, but it was

402
00:21:37.799 --> 00:21:41.680
they were just muscle like. The younger one was more

403
00:21:41.680 --> 00:21:44.880
defined and muscle wise. The older one you could tell

404
00:21:44.920 --> 00:21:47.400
that he wasn't it wasn't as defined, but he was

405
00:21:47.440 --> 00:21:50.240
still had a lot of muscle density.

406
00:21:51.319 --> 00:21:54.720
M gotcha. M.

407
00:21:56.880 --> 00:22:02.920
You had mentioned that it kind of looked black slash pixelated. Yeah,

408
00:22:03.920 --> 00:22:06.519
can you can you go into that a little bit more?

409
00:22:06.759 --> 00:22:10.799
I find that really interesting going off of other things

410
00:22:10.799 --> 00:22:11.240
I've heard.

411
00:22:11.759 --> 00:22:16.119
Yeah, it's kind of hard to explain. For me to

412
00:22:16.160 --> 00:22:18.400
explain it, I'm not very good with words. But it

413
00:22:18.559 --> 00:22:21.440
just looked when I was behind the tree and trying

414
00:22:21.440 --> 00:22:24.680
to look at him without getting like full frontal, because

415
00:22:24.680 --> 00:22:28.400
I was kind of hiding from trade to tree, and

416
00:22:28.440 --> 00:22:32.359
when I went like when I stepped out, it looked

417
00:22:32.400 --> 00:22:35.720
like he just maybe like turned maybe he wasn't full

418
00:22:36.119 --> 00:22:41.480
uh broadside to me, and it kind of Yeah, it's

419
00:22:42.000 --> 00:22:44.599
it's like the like a mirror. And that's when I said,

420
00:22:44.640 --> 00:22:46.960
a reflective light like a mirror, turning like you're seeing

421
00:22:47.000 --> 00:22:50.720
the full picture of it now. And uh, I've talked

422
00:22:50.720 --> 00:22:52.440
to a couple other guys that are like, oh, he

423
00:22:52.559 --> 00:23:00.839
was probably cloaking like Predator, and it wouldn't say it

424
00:23:00.920 --> 00:23:03.640
kind of looked like that from the movies, but I

425
00:23:03.680 --> 00:23:08.319
wouldn't say one percent. Yeah, he was cloaking like it.

426
00:23:08.319 --> 00:23:11.240
It looked like like like mirror ish if you will,

427
00:23:11.319 --> 00:23:13.880
until I went full so we were brought broadside to

428
00:23:13.920 --> 00:23:17.039
each other, and then it was full on. You know,

429
00:23:17.079 --> 00:23:18.240
I could see everything.

430
00:23:18.799 --> 00:23:23.160
That's really interesting, So just to check a few things.

431
00:23:23.160 --> 00:23:26.519
So are you saying like when it wasn't Yeah, that

432
00:23:26.640 --> 00:23:29.960
is a really hard concept to grasp. So at one

433
00:23:30.000 --> 00:23:32.920
point then were you able to see half through it

434
00:23:33.079 --> 00:23:35.640
or just not all the details in a way.

435
00:23:36.039 --> 00:23:37.839
I'd say not all the details. I wouldn't say all

436
00:23:37.880 --> 00:23:42.400
the way through it, like kind of you know when

437
00:23:42.440 --> 00:23:46.359
someone holds like they got those they set up mirrors

438
00:23:46.359 --> 00:23:52.440
to make a what they call it like camouflage, where

439
00:23:52.440 --> 00:23:54.319
they set up mirror so it just looks like the

440
00:23:54.359 --> 00:23:57.720
rest of everything. That's kind of the best way that

441
00:23:57.759 --> 00:24:01.119
I can describe it. That's what it looked like. So

442
00:24:01.160 --> 00:24:04.720
I wouldn't even say it was half mirror and half

443
00:24:05.119 --> 00:24:08.480
cloaking like predator looking kind of thing, because I could

444
00:24:08.480 --> 00:24:11.680
see and I don't know if it was just me

445
00:24:11.799 --> 00:24:16.920
trying to comprehend everything that was going on but uh,

446
00:24:17.200 --> 00:24:19.440
or if he was just standing weird and then when

447
00:24:19.480 --> 00:24:22.079
I went broadside of him, he went broadside to me

448
00:24:23.039 --> 00:24:28.680
and it was just full on, you know, full on site. Wow.

449
00:24:28.720 --> 00:24:32.720
That that is really fascinating. And I mean there's depending

450
00:24:32.759 --> 00:24:36.240
on what it actually is, there's different ways to look

451
00:24:36.240 --> 00:24:40.519
at that. I mean, if you take the physical creatures side,

452
00:24:40.599 --> 00:24:43.839
I mean, there are other animals in this world where

453
00:24:43.880 --> 00:24:48.720
they can make themselves invisible or you know, camouflage like

454
00:24:48.759 --> 00:24:52.319
an octopus can camouflage immediately, right, So there are other

455
00:24:52.440 --> 00:24:55.000
things that can do that. But then you have, you know,

456
00:24:55.039 --> 00:25:00.440
maybe more the paranormal side, where you know you're looking into, Okay,

457
00:25:00.480 --> 00:25:03.799
can this thing do things like cloaking like you had said,

458
00:25:03.920 --> 00:25:06.200
or is it you know, halfway in a portal or

459
00:25:06.279 --> 00:25:08.279
is it coming out of a portal? You know, And

460
00:25:08.319 --> 00:25:11.680
we don't know because we haven't been able to to uh,

461
00:25:11.920 --> 00:25:15.759
to really study them in the way that would need

462
00:25:15.799 --> 00:25:19.519
to be studied to figure that out. So it is

463
00:25:19.559 --> 00:25:23.559
a fascinating encounter because I think the main, the main

464
00:25:23.599 --> 00:25:26.519
part of it that really fascinates me is that you

465
00:25:26.559 --> 00:25:32.119
were able to see something happen, and we don't know

466
00:25:32.160 --> 00:25:35.160
if it's because of what the creature was doing or

467
00:25:35.279 --> 00:25:39.480
because of maybe the position that you were looking at

468
00:25:39.599 --> 00:25:42.440
and you were changing positions. Is so many questions that

469
00:25:42.519 --> 00:25:44.440
come from from this one encounter, you know.

470
00:25:44.960 --> 00:25:48.960
Yeah, And I never even thought about the portal thing

471
00:25:49.039 --> 00:25:52.720
until you just said that because the older one, I

472
00:25:52.720 --> 00:25:54.640
didn't see him until he stepped out in front of him,

473
00:25:54.680 --> 00:25:58.200
like even my peripherals or anything. And but I've always

474
00:25:58.200 --> 00:26:00.960
thought that maybe because I was so focused on that one,

475
00:26:01.720 --> 00:26:04.480
I had tunnel vision on him, so I didn't I

476
00:26:04.599 --> 00:26:06.400
never seen him until he stepped out in front.

477
00:26:07.759 --> 00:26:12.640
Yeah, that's tricky too, because it's like, could be portal.

478
00:26:12.759 --> 00:26:15.759
But I mean, if you have I'm sure you've seen

479
00:26:16.279 --> 00:26:20.240
pictures of like a mountain lion in camouflage or like

480
00:26:21.119 --> 00:26:24.240
a what is it? I saw one of an owl

481
00:26:24.480 --> 00:26:26.519
against a tree and it was like you would never

482
00:26:26.640 --> 00:26:31.359
know it was there until it started moving. Wild wild stuff.

483
00:26:32.160 --> 00:26:36.160
So it's It's cool because it could be the encounter

484
00:26:36.240 --> 00:26:38.079
could be taken either way.

485
00:26:39.000 --> 00:26:40.240
That one part.

486
00:26:40.680 --> 00:26:44.480
Now you mentioned that you've you've been able to meet

487
00:26:44.599 --> 00:26:49.319
this another researcher, that is much more. I mean, it

488
00:26:49.440 --> 00:26:54.880
sounds like this researcher has been into this for multiple

489
00:26:54.960 --> 00:26:56.000
multiple years.

490
00:26:56.440 --> 00:26:58.799
Yeah, I think he's been doing it for twenty plus years.

491
00:26:59.119 --> 00:26:59.319
Wow.

492
00:26:59.519 --> 00:27:02.119
Here he does a lot of stuff up in Deadwood.

493
00:27:02.119 --> 00:27:10.559
Also absolutely Now based on conversations with him after that happened,

494
00:27:11.200 --> 00:27:14.839
or maybe your own research, have you heard of any

495
00:27:14.920 --> 00:27:19.920
other experiences in this area where a similar thing happens

496
00:27:20.839 --> 00:27:24.119
where you know it kind of has this this weird

497
00:27:24.640 --> 00:27:26.599
BLOCKI or pixelated thing happened.

498
00:27:27.039 --> 00:27:30.359
I haven't heard too much of the pixelater of the

499
00:27:30.359 --> 00:27:33.839
blocky thing happened. But when I was talking to him

500
00:27:33.839 --> 00:27:36.759
in two when I'm trying to remember, I met him

501
00:27:36.759 --> 00:27:39.759
in twenty sixteen and we talked about my first encounter

502
00:27:40.400 --> 00:27:43.960
and his friend that he had with him. Halfway through

503
00:27:44.119 --> 00:27:48.680
describing what I seen, he stopped and then finished describing it.

504
00:27:49.920 --> 00:27:52.279
So he we believe we've seen the same creature. It's

505
00:27:52.319 --> 00:27:55.400
in the same area, like the same Monte Cristo area.

506
00:27:55.440 --> 00:27:58.240
He was just further in off the pavement than I

507
00:27:58.359 --> 00:28:02.279
was when he's seen it, and he said that he

508
00:28:02.359 --> 00:28:05.279
was setting up his tent and stood up and it

509
00:28:05.359 --> 00:28:07.240
was looking it was on the other side of the tent,

510
00:28:07.519 --> 00:28:11.839
looking at him. Then casually it was like not kneeling, kneeling,

511
00:28:12.160 --> 00:28:13.880
and it stood up and casually walked away.

512
00:28:15.160 --> 00:28:17.599
Oh my goodness, I can't imagine that. I mean, that's

513
00:28:18.119 --> 00:28:21.200
that's literally feet away. Yeah right, I mean unless your

514
00:28:21.240 --> 00:28:23.519
tent is massive, which most people are not going to

515
00:28:23.599 --> 00:28:25.440
have a massive tent out there, I would imagine.

516
00:28:25.440 --> 00:28:32.240
But oh so, and talking to like when I started

517
00:28:32.240 --> 00:28:34.680
actually getting into the research, had to just you know,

518
00:28:34.799 --> 00:28:37.680
listen to the stories, which I love listening to the stories,

519
00:28:37.720 --> 00:28:40.359
like you know, all the podcasts out there and every

520
00:28:40.480 --> 00:28:42.960
I loved listening to people's and counter stories. When I

521
00:28:43.000 --> 00:28:47.880
started actually doing research and talking to people, people have

522
00:28:47.960 --> 00:28:52.039
described the same bigfoot that I've seen throughout the entire

523
00:28:52.119 --> 00:28:57.640
wastage Front from Idaho down into Beaver And that's two

524
00:28:57.759 --> 00:29:01.240
three hundred mile range.

525
00:29:01.519 --> 00:29:03.680
Oh yeah, that puts a whole different spin on it.

526
00:29:03.720 --> 00:29:09.559
Then my theory is on it. I've heard story or

527
00:29:09.720 --> 00:29:12.519
not stories, but tell of like a seven year cycle

528
00:29:12.599 --> 00:29:14.440
with the wildlife, right, I don't know if you've heard

529
00:29:14.440 --> 00:29:18.440
about that. I feel like they just follow the food

530
00:29:18.480 --> 00:29:21.480
and they don't overeat the area that they're in. They

531
00:29:21.559 --> 00:29:25.000
just keep moving. They're kind of a nomad, and so

532
00:29:26.720 --> 00:29:28.640
I think maybe they were back in the area when

533
00:29:28.640 --> 00:29:31.359
I seen them in twenty twenty and they're just coming

534
00:29:31.400 --> 00:29:34.720
down into the lower elevation for food, like because it

535
00:29:34.759 --> 00:29:38.240
was two males possibly hunting, you know, looking for food.

536
00:29:39.759 --> 00:29:43.519
And that's my theory because they've been seen from Idaho

537
00:29:43.720 --> 00:29:47.720
down to Beaver throughout the entire wash Age range. And

538
00:29:47.799 --> 00:29:50.480
I don't know if it's the same ones or different

539
00:29:50.480 --> 00:29:53.319
families or different clans or however they operate.

540
00:29:54.319 --> 00:29:58.519
Okay, can you explain a little more of what the

541
00:29:58.680 --> 00:30:00.119
seven years cycle is?

542
00:30:01.599 --> 00:30:04.839
I can try, and I'm not even I've just heard,

543
00:30:04.880 --> 00:30:06.880
you know, my dad and old farmers talk about it.

544
00:30:06.920 --> 00:30:10.400
So the seven year cycle is like the food in

545
00:30:10.440 --> 00:30:13.119
the area goes through a seven year cycle, like they'll

546
00:30:13.240 --> 00:30:16.160
eat this area and so they don't stay in this

547
00:30:16.240 --> 00:30:19.799
area the entire time. They'll move on kind of like

548
00:30:19.920 --> 00:30:24.440
regenerated regenerative farming, So you move the animals from one

549
00:30:24.480 --> 00:30:27.160
area two different areas so they don't overeat it and

550
00:30:27.240 --> 00:30:29.359
you don't bring them back to that area for a while,

551
00:30:29.480 --> 00:30:32.359
So like those animals don't come back into this area

552
00:30:32.359 --> 00:30:35.079
for another seven years or something like that. If I

553
00:30:35.519 --> 00:30:36.640
think that's how it goes.

554
00:30:37.599 --> 00:30:41.079
Okay, yeah, that makes sense. So if the the food

555
00:30:41.119 --> 00:30:45.559
source moves, then the predators are going to move as well.

556
00:30:46.160 --> 00:30:48.559
Okay yeah, and that that lines up where you and

557
00:30:48.559 --> 00:30:51.440
I've talked to a few hunters out in the will

558
00:30:51.480 --> 00:30:56.319
LaMotte National Forest near Oakridge, Oregon, and I mean they

559
00:30:57.480 --> 00:30:59.000
they were able to show me on maps.

560
00:30:59.400 --> 00:31:00.000
It was crazy.

561
00:31:00.119 --> 00:31:02.200
They were like, this is where the l Kurds are

562
00:31:02.240 --> 00:31:05.480
here here here at this time, and this is where

563
00:31:05.519 --> 00:31:08.279
all the bigfoot sightings are happening. So it's like you

564
00:31:08.319 --> 00:31:11.920
can see the Bigfoot pretty much following the l Kurds

565
00:31:11.960 --> 00:31:12.880
as they move around.

566
00:31:13.160 --> 00:31:14.279
Crazy crazy stuff.

567
00:31:16.200 --> 00:31:19.799
Are you at the point, Matt, where people are are

568
00:31:19.839 --> 00:31:23.279
coming to you or you are able to talk to

569
00:31:23.559 --> 00:31:27.799
other witnesses in the area about their encounters they're having.

570
00:31:28.480 --> 00:31:31.480
I'm trying to and I've got some people lined up

571
00:31:31.559 --> 00:31:37.079
do some interviews. I started my own little research channel,

572
00:31:37.119 --> 00:31:41.079
face or a YouTube channel and stuff. This last year

573
00:31:41.079 --> 00:31:43.119
has been hectic because of work and stuff like that.

574
00:31:43.240 --> 00:31:45.960
And I told my wife this year, I'm doing one

575
00:31:46.000 --> 00:31:49.039
hundred percent into the YouTube and the research. I'm doing

576
00:31:49.079 --> 00:31:53.480
the stuff. So this year I've got people lined up

577
00:31:53.480 --> 00:31:56.759
to do interviews. I've had a couple interviews last year

578
00:31:56.799 --> 00:31:59.759
with a couple guys from Montana, some friends that I

579
00:31:59.799 --> 00:32:03.960
have up there. So that's that's the end goal is

580
00:32:04.000 --> 00:32:07.039
to get more interviews and more people talking about it.

581
00:32:07.920 --> 00:32:08.559
That's awesome.

582
00:32:08.680 --> 00:32:11.400
I would recommend you know, just to decide if you're

583
00:32:11.440 --> 00:32:16.039
able to have people actually come on camera for interview.

584
00:32:16.200 --> 00:32:19.160
I think that is. I mean, I've started to do

585
00:32:19.200 --> 00:32:21.200
it myself as we're doing now, but I think it's

586
00:32:21.240 --> 00:32:24.319
it's one of the most powerful things because you know,

587
00:32:25.119 --> 00:32:27.960
someone who stumbles onto your channel, they can be like, oh,

588
00:32:28.079 --> 00:32:32.200
this is an actual, real person, not AI, not some

589
00:32:32.279 --> 00:32:35.839
weird computer voice, like this is an actual person, and

590
00:32:36.240 --> 00:32:39.720
they are. You can see their emotions and how they

591
00:32:39.720 --> 00:32:43.200
were affected by this. So uh, it'd be it'll be

592
00:32:43.240 --> 00:32:46.079
fun to see where your channel goes, and I'll make

593
00:32:46.119 --> 00:32:49.640
sure to have that linked in the description for this.

594
00:32:49.880 --> 00:32:53.079
But what what is your goal through all of the

595
00:32:53.119 --> 00:32:57.599
you know, bigfoot research and fieldwork that you're starting to do.

596
00:32:58.079 --> 00:33:00.160
The end goal in the in the research all this

597
00:33:00.319 --> 00:33:02.519
is to prove that he exists, right, you know, whether

598
00:33:02.519 --> 00:33:05.240
there's something out there. But for me, I think the

599
00:33:05.279 --> 00:33:06.799
only way that you're gonna be able to prove it

600
00:33:06.880 --> 00:33:12.000
is a body. But I am also I'm I'm against

601
00:33:12.160 --> 00:33:14.920
you know, killing of the Bigfoot, but I think that's

602
00:33:14.920 --> 00:33:16.839
the only way you're gonna be able to do it because

603
00:33:16.880 --> 00:33:19.880
there's been so many people out there that have I

604
00:33:19.920 --> 00:33:22.279
feel like, have proven that have evidence, you know, DNA

605
00:33:22.319 --> 00:33:25.240
evidence through hair or something like that, and then all

606
00:33:25.240 --> 00:33:27.880
of a sudden, like it's gone, oh we lost your

607
00:33:27.920 --> 00:33:31.759
thing or it, you know, it gets covered up somehow.

608
00:33:31.960 --> 00:33:34.079
But even then, I think even if you had a body,

609
00:33:34.200 --> 00:33:37.960
it would get covered up. So it's you know, the

610
00:33:38.039 --> 00:33:41.039
end goal is to prove that show some sort of existence,

611
00:33:42.599 --> 00:33:46.319
whether it's you know, uh, DNA evidence, footprints, or even

612
00:33:46.440 --> 00:33:48.720
it's also just a fun way for me to get

613
00:33:48.720 --> 00:33:52.960
out into the woods and just you know, reconnect with

614
00:33:53.000 --> 00:33:56.920
the woods. And I don't have fun. I enjoyed doing it.

615
00:33:57.079 --> 00:33:59.519
And it's also there for a little bit I did

616
00:33:59.559 --> 00:34:03.720
struggle with PTSD, so this has helped me get past

617
00:34:03.759 --> 00:34:05.480
some of those hurdles and stuff like that.

618
00:34:06.359 --> 00:34:12.119
Absolutely, when you've been out in the areas where you

619
00:34:12.239 --> 00:34:17.320
are researching and trying to have encounters, etc. Have you

620
00:34:17.400 --> 00:34:20.679
experienced any other weird things out there that are kind

621
00:34:20.679 --> 00:34:23.840
of outside the realm of being normal?

622
00:34:25.280 --> 00:34:30.079
There was It was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I was

623
00:34:30.119 --> 00:34:33.000
in a different area up Logan Canyon, and this is

624
00:34:33.039 --> 00:34:36.360
probably a forty to fifty mile as a crow flies

625
00:34:36.440 --> 00:34:40.880
distance away. I went up there just to kind of

626
00:34:40.960 --> 00:34:46.480
drive around and do some research, but I didn't realize

627
00:34:46.519 --> 00:34:48.599
how many people go up and cut Christmas trees down.

628
00:34:49.199 --> 00:34:50.840
So it was I got up there at like five

629
00:34:50.840 --> 00:34:53.880
o'clock in the morning, got up into this area that

630
00:34:53.920 --> 00:34:55.599
I've been trying to get to for the past couple

631
00:34:55.599 --> 00:34:58.719
of years, and I have a modified Moronco that I

632
00:34:58.800 --> 00:35:01.079
take up. I was able to get into it this

633
00:35:01.199 --> 00:35:04.039
area because the cup past couple of times, It's kind

634
00:35:04.079 --> 00:35:06.559
of it felt like the universe was stopping me. I

635
00:35:06.599 --> 00:35:08.440
got up there a couple of years ago and my

636
00:35:08.480 --> 00:35:12.559
transmission was overheating and puking out transmission fluid, so I

637
00:35:12.559 --> 00:35:15.480
had to turn around go home. The next time I

638
00:35:15.519 --> 00:35:17.079
went up, I went up with my brother and our

639
00:35:17.159 --> 00:35:20.079
side by side and I didn't put fuel in it

640
00:35:20.079 --> 00:35:22.280
before we last left camp, and I didn't realize it

641
00:35:22.320 --> 00:35:24.559
until we got to the turnoff to get to this area.

642
00:35:25.159 --> 00:35:26.800
The fuel light was flashing, so we had to turn

643
00:35:26.840 --> 00:35:28.960
around and go back, and by the time we got

644
00:35:29.000 --> 00:35:31.719
fuel in it, the temperature dropped so bad that my

645
00:35:32.239 --> 00:35:35.760
battery went bad and the side by side wouldn't stay running.

646
00:35:37.599 --> 00:35:39.199
So I got up there, and I was really excited

647
00:35:39.199 --> 00:35:44.719
to get up there. Started walking around and something fell off.

648
00:35:44.800 --> 00:35:46.400
It was about the same thing that I had when

649
00:35:46.400 --> 00:35:49.239
I was in when I took my boy out. And

650
00:35:51.320 --> 00:35:54.480
so I'm walking around just kind of talking and talking

651
00:35:54.519 --> 00:35:56.280
to the camera, you know, talking about footprints. Because I

652
00:35:56.320 --> 00:35:59.079
was going over I seen it was probably an elk

653
00:35:59.119 --> 00:36:01.320
track or something like that. So I walked next to

654
00:36:01.360 --> 00:36:04.639
it to show what footprints and everything looked like. And

655
00:36:04.679 --> 00:36:07.519
then I was turning around. I walked, you know, in

656
00:36:07.599 --> 00:36:10.760
the uh in the big footway of one foot right

657
00:36:10.800 --> 00:36:12.800
in front of the other and trying to stride out,

658
00:36:13.159 --> 00:36:15.159
showing how difficult it is and what it looks like

659
00:36:15.239 --> 00:36:20.079
between a regular, you know, regular human walking. And then

660
00:36:20.239 --> 00:36:23.440
I just felt like I was being watched and there's

661
00:36:23.480 --> 00:36:26.639
something And then I started heading back towards the truck,

662
00:36:27.519 --> 00:36:29.639
and without even noticing it, I was whispering to the

663
00:36:29.639 --> 00:36:32.719
camera and kind of jogging from chee to tree, and

664
00:36:32.840 --> 00:36:35.960
I realized I was doing it, and so I stopped,

665
00:36:36.159 --> 00:36:37.880
and then I was hearing I wouldn't even say it

666
00:36:37.880 --> 00:36:42.920
was footprints. It was like trees cracking or something like

667
00:36:42.960 --> 00:36:46.960
something moving around. But I couldn't hear footprints or something walking,

668
00:36:47.320 --> 00:36:50.599
but I could hear something in the trees almost. I

669
00:36:50.639 --> 00:36:53.159
really wanted to stay, because that's what you know, that's

670
00:36:53.199 --> 00:36:55.079
what we're out there for, to find things like that.

671
00:36:55.559 --> 00:36:58.199
But I was by myself, and I was it was.

672
00:36:58.280 --> 00:36:59.960
I was too creeped out to do it by myself.

673
00:37:01.000 --> 00:37:04.960
So I got back in the truck and on the

674
00:37:05.000 --> 00:37:08.840
way back out, I damaged the front end of my

675
00:37:08.840 --> 00:37:11.760
Bronco and I couldn't unlock my hubs, and so I

676
00:37:11.760 --> 00:37:13.519
couldn't drive home. I had to wait for a trailer

677
00:37:13.559 --> 00:37:15.559
to come up the next day, so I had to

678
00:37:15.559 --> 00:37:19.079
stay the night up there, and I switched everything over

679
00:37:19.119 --> 00:37:20.920
from summer to winter, like I get on my I

680
00:37:21.000 --> 00:37:22.880
always have a tent in there. So I had to

681
00:37:22.920 --> 00:37:25.440
stay the night, and I'm sure this was my mind

682
00:37:25.440 --> 00:37:27.639
playing tricks on me, but throughout the night I kept

683
00:37:27.679 --> 00:37:31.800
waking up and hearing things but I think about four

684
00:37:31.840 --> 00:37:35.039
o'clock in the morning it started snowing, and so I

685
00:37:35.079 --> 00:37:38.360
think it was the snow coming down and just you know,

686
00:37:38.440 --> 00:37:42.360
baronic pressure changing things. And yeah, it was kind of

687
00:37:42.400 --> 00:37:44.519
I didn't get very much sleep because I kept hearing

688
00:37:44.559 --> 00:37:47.199
things and it could have just been me amped up

689
00:37:47.239 --> 00:37:48.880
and thinking that I was hearing things too.

690
00:37:49.960 --> 00:37:53.320
Oh my goodness, that story could have ended way differently

691
00:37:53.480 --> 00:38:00.239
if you hadn't been prepared like that. Wow ooh, that's

692
00:38:00.239 --> 00:38:05.840
a great example for anyone that's listening that is, like

693
00:38:05.960 --> 00:38:09.480
I'm gonna go out with a buddy or whatever and

694
00:38:09.960 --> 00:38:12.719
try to find Bigfoot. You need to be prepared for

695
00:38:12.960 --> 00:38:15.559
anything to happen. And I mean, you had a tent

696
00:38:15.639 --> 00:38:17.360
with you. How many people are bringing a tent with

697
00:38:17.400 --> 00:38:19.599
them just in case? I mean, I don't think a

698
00:38:19.639 --> 00:38:22.079
lot like that's wild that.

699
00:38:22.000 --> 00:38:23.800
Comes from experience, because I've had a sleep in the

700
00:38:23.800 --> 00:38:26.679
truck before because of things like that. So I was like, well, Okay,

701
00:38:27.679 --> 00:38:29.800
I'm going to pack the things I know i'm gonna

702
00:38:29.840 --> 00:38:32.920
need just in case. And my wife really hates it

703
00:38:32.920 --> 00:38:34.960
when I go out by myself. And so when I

704
00:38:35.000 --> 00:38:37.559
got home, you know, kind of I told you.

705
00:38:39.920 --> 00:38:40.519
That's funny.

706
00:38:41.159 --> 00:38:44.280
Is there an account that sticks out that you've been

707
00:38:44.320 --> 00:38:48.159
told around the area that you found interesting to hear.

708
00:38:50.360 --> 00:38:52.760
Yeah. So that same guy that I that I refer

709
00:38:52.840 --> 00:38:55.360
into that does the research, he does his own channel.

710
00:38:55.400 --> 00:39:01.280
It's a Rocky Mountain Sasquatch organization. And I was listening

711
00:39:01.320 --> 00:39:04.119
to him one day. I was just getting like I

712
00:39:04.199 --> 00:39:06.039
was getting ready for work or something, and so we

713
00:39:06.119 --> 00:39:09.000
had he was just telling a story, and so he

714
00:39:09.079 --> 00:39:12.519
was talking about this guy that was up Logan Canyon

715
00:39:12.599 --> 00:39:14.800
in a place called Tony's Grove and where I stayed

716
00:39:14.840 --> 00:39:18.360
the night. In Tony's Grove, they're probably about ten fifteen

717
00:39:18.360 --> 00:39:21.440
miles apart from each other, if I remember correctly. So

718
00:39:21.480 --> 00:39:25.639
he was talking about this guy that was and I

719
00:39:25.679 --> 00:39:29.280
think it was probably the late eighties, early nineties, I

720
00:39:29.280 --> 00:39:32.960
don't know the timeframe about. You know, he's up there

721
00:39:34.000 --> 00:39:37.559
elk hunting and so something's messing with him. There's a

722
00:39:37.559 --> 00:39:40.400
bigfoot that's messing with him. So they moved to Curtis

723
00:39:40.519 --> 00:39:43.679
Creek to get away from whatever it was, and it

724
00:39:43.760 --> 00:39:48.119
followed him over to Curtis Creek, and Curtis Creek is

725
00:39:48.119 --> 00:39:50.559
where I had my first encounter. So he's telling the

726
00:39:50.599 --> 00:39:55.199
story and he mentions the guy's name, He's like, I

727
00:39:55.239 --> 00:39:57.719
know that name, and then just knowing who the guy

728
00:39:57.840 --> 00:40:02.280
is and where he worked, it was uh my ex wife,

729
00:40:02.320 --> 00:40:04.320
the girl that was with me the first time. It

730
00:40:04.360 --> 00:40:07.800
was her best friend's dad that had the encounter, and

731
00:40:07.880 --> 00:40:11.039
so I had spent this guy got me, the guy

732
00:40:11.079 --> 00:40:13.880
that he's taking got me in. Dell cunning never told

733
00:40:13.920 --> 00:40:16.559
me the story at all, never talked about it, you know,

734
00:40:16.320 --> 00:40:19.320
and I've been he knew I was into Bigfoot, but

735
00:40:19.440 --> 00:40:20.840
maybe he didn't know I was into it that much

736
00:40:20.840 --> 00:40:22.719
where I would have enjoyed that story, but I never

737
00:40:22.840 --> 00:40:25.159
heard it from him. So that's the account that I got.

738
00:40:25.920 --> 00:40:29.639
And like just the fact that it followed him, and

739
00:40:29.679 --> 00:40:31.239
you know, I always hear you know, people like I'm

740
00:40:31.239 --> 00:40:33.559
morey that's gonna follow me home or whatever, that it

741
00:40:33.559 --> 00:40:36.880
followed him. That's that's very interesting to me that that

742
00:40:37.079 --> 00:40:40.320
happened and it harassed him that long of a distance

743
00:40:40.320 --> 00:40:41.519
away and everything like that.

744
00:40:42.239 --> 00:40:45.480
Oh my goodness, that's that's wild. So that's uh Kelly

745
00:40:45.519 --> 00:40:49.480
Shaw our mso channel right that guy. So you're saying

746
00:40:49.480 --> 00:40:52.360
that's just when you watched or are you saying that

747
00:40:52.440 --> 00:40:54.280
you actually hang out with Kelly.

748
00:40:54.800 --> 00:40:56.599
Kelly is the one that went up with me to

749
00:40:56.639 --> 00:40:59.760
do the do the research and everything like that. Oh no, way,

750
00:41:00.079 --> 00:41:03.320
So I talked to Kelly. I won't to say quite

751
00:41:03.320 --> 00:41:05.760
a bit, but you know, every now and then, when

752
00:41:05.760 --> 00:41:08.679
I'll have like a thought, I'll run it past him

753
00:41:08.719 --> 00:41:12.280
and you know he's gonna We've done a little clab

754
00:41:12.360 --> 00:41:14.880
every here. Every now and then, we've done stuff together,

755
00:41:15.599 --> 00:41:18.159
but not too much. But I like Kelly. He's a

756
00:41:18.159 --> 00:41:19.679
good guy. Yeah.

757
00:41:19.719 --> 00:41:21.880
I have not talked to him yet. I need to

758
00:41:22.199 --> 00:41:24.840
maybe put him on the list, reach out to him.

759
00:41:25.519 --> 00:41:28.840
So are you saying, so did you just reach out

760
00:41:28.880 --> 00:41:31.280
to him one day after hearing something on the channel

761
00:41:31.360 --> 00:41:33.840
and be like, hey, let's say.

762
00:41:34.559 --> 00:41:40.960
Twenty sixteen, I was. I That's what I think is

763
00:41:41.000 --> 00:41:44.119
when I decided to actually start doing more research and

764
00:41:44.159 --> 00:41:46.000
looking out. And so I went on one of the

765
00:41:46.119 --> 00:41:50.119
Facebook hunting clubs or hunting pages and asked, Hey, has

766
00:41:50.159 --> 00:41:53.239
anybody had any weird encounters? You know? And of course

767
00:41:53.280 --> 00:41:55.840
you're gonna get laughed at and mocked out, which you've

768
00:41:55.880 --> 00:41:57.719
got to have thick skin if you're doing what we

769
00:41:57.840 --> 00:42:01.159
do right. Right, So people we're saying things and then

770
00:42:01.159 --> 00:42:05.719
someone's like, hey, tag me and Kelly together and then

771
00:42:06.519 --> 00:42:10.920
I'm trying to remember exactly. He sent me a YouTube

772
00:42:10.960 --> 00:42:13.079
video to listen to about a guy up in Washington.

773
00:42:13.679 --> 00:42:15.159
So I listened to that and then I told him,

774
00:42:15.159 --> 00:42:17.760
I said, oh, that's awesome. I said, I had dis encounter,

775
00:42:18.360 --> 00:42:21.239
and we went up and did Wike went back to

776
00:42:21.280 --> 00:42:23.800
my encounter area in two thousand and four and we

777
00:42:23.880 --> 00:42:25.920
talked about that. And then we've just been kind of

778
00:42:26.119 --> 00:42:30.840
talking here and there since twenty sixteen, so you know,

779
00:42:30.880 --> 00:42:33.119
every now and then all talk to him, and you know,

780
00:42:33.599 --> 00:42:38.719
we did another kind of a clab. My recording stuff

781
00:42:38.760 --> 00:42:40.639
that I did on it was not very good, like

782
00:42:40.679 --> 00:42:42.360
my sound went out. I was using an old phone,

783
00:42:42.719 --> 00:42:45.039
so I didn't end up getting a video. My stuff

784
00:42:45.159 --> 00:42:47.559
didn't work. We went to a place called Hearts Grabble.

785
00:42:48.360 --> 00:42:52.079
It is behind it is Morgan County, but it's on

786
00:42:52.119 --> 00:42:55.079
the east side of the Wasatch Front and there's a

787
00:42:55.119 --> 00:42:57.760
lot of stuff that happens there, but it's all private

788
00:42:57.800 --> 00:42:59.840
property and I had access for a day. So we

789
00:43:00.079 --> 00:43:04.360
went up there and was checking things out. When I'm

790
00:43:04.440 --> 00:43:07.360
up in the mountains, you know, like I so my

791
00:43:09.400 --> 00:43:11.360
I don't know, you know, if you're not doing stories

792
00:43:11.360 --> 00:43:13.239
like this, if you're just up looking and I don't

793
00:43:13.280 --> 00:43:15.800
know if you feel like I've tried to watch people's

794
00:43:17.360 --> 00:43:20.360
channel and it's not nothing against them, but walking around

795
00:43:20.400 --> 00:43:24.400
in the trees looking for bigfoot can get kind of boring,

796
00:43:24.519 --> 00:43:28.119
you know, watching the videos, which if with my attention span,

797
00:43:28.239 --> 00:43:31.840
I have a little ADHD, I wrap other things in

798
00:43:31.880 --> 00:43:34.639
my video, like off road and I'll do cooking, and

799
00:43:34.719 --> 00:43:36.800
so there's times that I've been out doing things. I'll

800
00:43:37.440 --> 00:43:39.880
because my Broncos set up for off road things. So

801
00:43:39.920 --> 00:43:41.960
I've had big old wench and all this stuff on it,

802
00:43:42.599 --> 00:43:45.800
and I run into people and I'll you know, they'll

803
00:43:45.920 --> 00:43:47.360
they'll be stuck on the side of the road or

804
00:43:47.360 --> 00:43:49.760
something like that, and I'll help them out and I'll

805
00:43:49.760 --> 00:43:51.400
get them out and they're like, oh, you know, I

806
00:43:51.480 --> 00:43:54.079
like your Bronco because it's I got bigfoot things all over.

807
00:43:54.159 --> 00:43:55.400
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is what I do. And

808
00:43:55.400 --> 00:43:58.480
they're like, oh, well, by the way, I had seen

809
00:43:58.599 --> 00:44:00.840
this in this area. I don't what it was, but

810
00:44:00.920 --> 00:44:05.199
I had, you know, something hooting at me, like an owl.

811
00:44:05.280 --> 00:44:08.639
But if it was an owl, it was a big owl. So,

812
00:44:09.000 --> 00:44:11.280
you know, just things like that happened here and there,

813
00:44:11.360 --> 00:44:14.280
so and that's I just tried. I tried to talk

814
00:44:14.320 --> 00:44:16.880
to people as much as I can when I'm out,

815
00:44:17.800 --> 00:44:19.880
just you know, be nice and the hat kret you know.

816
00:44:19.920 --> 00:44:24.360
And I've even had game wardens, not never really game warnings,

817
00:44:24.400 --> 00:44:27.920
but forestry people come up and ask what I'm doing,

818
00:44:28.000 --> 00:44:29.920
and I'll tell them and they'll be like, well, I've

819
00:44:29.920 --> 00:44:32.960
seen some hairy legs over here in this location. Once

820
00:44:33.519 --> 00:44:37.519
Harry Legs. Yeah, Harry Legs. He was looking down, like

821
00:44:37.880 --> 00:44:40.480
looking at the trail or something like that, and said

822
00:44:40.480 --> 00:44:42.800
he's seen the legs standing in front of him. He

823
00:44:42.840 --> 00:44:44.440
said he's too scared to look up, so he just

824
00:44:44.480 --> 00:44:50.199
backed out and left no way. Yeah, So it's just

825
00:44:50.639 --> 00:44:54.239
random things like that, And that's just meeting people out

826
00:44:54.800 --> 00:44:58.280
in uh, you know, just out and out in nature,

827
00:44:58.880 --> 00:45:01.159
and they'll see what you're doing, you know. And that's

828
00:45:01.639 --> 00:45:03.440
one of the biggest things for me, is getting it

829
00:45:03.480 --> 00:45:07.000
out there, because twenty thirty years ago, if you talked

830
00:45:07.000 --> 00:45:09.280
about Bigfoot, you were able to cook.

831
00:45:09.800 --> 00:45:11.000
Oh yeah, one hundred percent.

832
00:45:11.079 --> 00:45:14.880
Crazy yep, even in the military side, Like I was

833
00:45:14.920 --> 00:45:17.199
never afraid to talk about it on the military side.

834
00:45:17.320 --> 00:45:19.480
Maybe it's because I mean, I was just a truck

835
00:45:19.559 --> 00:45:22.400
driver in the Army, so there wasn't too much security

836
00:45:23.000 --> 00:45:24.920
reasons there, but you know, maybe if I was higher

837
00:45:25.000 --> 00:45:27.519
up somewhere, they wouldn't take too kindly to it.

838
00:45:29.079 --> 00:45:32.559
Yeah, did anyone so you were talking about bigfoot during

839
00:45:32.599 --> 00:45:36.360
your service, did anyone ever respond with, oh, yeah, I

840
00:45:36.400 --> 00:45:39.519
had something happen, or any conversations that came up.

841
00:45:41.280 --> 00:45:43.199
So some of my friends that I made in there,

842
00:45:43.239 --> 00:45:45.400
that one of the guys he helps me on my

843
00:45:45.519 --> 00:45:47.880
channel a lot, and so we kind of like, you know,

844
00:45:47.880 --> 00:45:51.920
I've made those connections there, but not really not too much.

845
00:45:51.960 --> 00:45:53.599
I mean, I was in the reserves for most of

846
00:45:53.639 --> 00:45:57.880
my time, so we did do stuff in Washington up

847
00:45:57.920 --> 00:46:01.599
at JBLM, and I tried to do as much stuff

848
00:46:01.599 --> 00:46:03.400
as I could up there, tried talking to people, but

849
00:46:03.440 --> 00:46:05.800
most people are like, oh, I'm not from here. I

850
00:46:05.840 --> 00:46:08.039
just got stationed here not too long ago, so I

851
00:46:08.079 --> 00:46:13.480
haven't had anything happen. So it's trying to and people

852
00:46:13.480 --> 00:46:16.000
that are in and are active duty don't. I think

853
00:46:16.039 --> 00:46:18.320
maybe it's the active duty culture that they don't want

854
00:46:18.320 --> 00:46:23.719
to talk about it. But it's getting less taboo, I

855
00:46:23.800 --> 00:46:27.119
guess now than it really ever has been.

856
00:46:29.440 --> 00:46:35.760
For individuals that are not up to the Lingo JBLM

857
00:46:35.880 --> 00:46:40.320
is Joint Base Lewis McCord right, Yes, okay, and which

858
00:46:40.400 --> 00:46:45.639
Fort Lewis is extremely known for actually bigfoot activity and

859
00:46:45.960 --> 00:46:47.440
big foot encounters.

860
00:46:47.960 --> 00:46:48.199
Yep.

861
00:46:49.239 --> 00:46:52.800
Absolutely did you hear when you were there? Just no

862
00:46:52.880 --> 00:46:54.840
one talking about like, oh yeah, we were on patrol

863
00:46:54.880 --> 00:46:58.639
out in the woods outside the base and something weird happened.

864
00:46:58.880 --> 00:46:59.440
Nothing like that.

865
00:47:00.079 --> 00:47:03.119
The crack of the thing about being in the reserves,

866
00:47:03.159 --> 00:47:04.880
when you're out there for training, they kind of steak

867
00:47:04.920 --> 00:47:07.440
you away from everybody else. Okay, So I was like,

868
00:47:07.480 --> 00:47:09.039
all right, we're gona steak you guys over here. You guys,

869
00:47:09.039 --> 00:47:10.360
do what you need to do and kind of leave

870
00:47:10.559 --> 00:47:13.880
the rest of everybody alone. Almost got it.

871
00:47:14.199 --> 00:47:17.800
Yeah, Yeah, I got it. I've heard some some wild

872
00:47:17.880 --> 00:47:21.920
stuff from that area. I mean, there's some weird stuff

873
00:47:21.920 --> 00:47:25.360
that happens, for sure, But I get how you you

874
00:47:25.400 --> 00:47:28.199
wouldn't really be hearing anything if you're in that situation.

875
00:47:29.880 --> 00:47:34.960
What would be a scenario where if it happened to

876
00:47:35.000 --> 00:47:39.000
you during your bigfoot research, then you could you could

877
00:47:39.000 --> 00:47:42.760
walk away and you could be I'm done. I've accomplished

878
00:47:42.800 --> 00:47:45.079
one hundred percent what I set out to do.

879
00:47:47.960 --> 00:47:53.639
I don't honestly if if something happened, like if they

880
00:47:53.679 --> 00:47:57.840
come out and was like, okay, I think the only

881
00:47:57.840 --> 00:48:00.400
thing that would actually stop me is if they come

882
00:48:00.440 --> 00:48:02.400
out and be like, Okay, the whole thing's been a hoax.

883
00:48:02.440 --> 00:48:05.039
We've been doing it for years just to mess with

884
00:48:05.079 --> 00:48:08.159
you people like the government or whoever. I think that's

885
00:48:08.159 --> 00:48:09.440
the only thing that would stop me. Like even if

886
00:48:09.480 --> 00:48:11.760
they come out and was like, hey, we have a body,

887
00:48:12.440 --> 00:48:15.679
Bigfoot's real, or you know, I think I would still

888
00:48:15.960 --> 00:48:19.920
go out and look like for my own satisfaction, Like

889
00:48:19.960 --> 00:48:22.800
if I here's like my wife asked me, what are

890
00:48:22.800 --> 00:48:24.760
you gonna do if you get them on camera? Are

891
00:48:24.760 --> 00:48:27.960
you gonna post that video or you I'm like, honestly,

892
00:48:27.960 --> 00:48:30.280
I don't know. I think I would probably get a

893
00:48:30.320 --> 00:48:35.519
hold of anybody I could in the scientific community to

894
00:48:35.599 --> 00:48:38.320
show the video too, before I even uploaded it, because

895
00:48:39.239 --> 00:48:42.480
and the crappy thing about this day and age and technology,

896
00:48:42.480 --> 00:48:45.039
there's so much AI out there. Even if you did

897
00:48:45.119 --> 00:48:49.119
have the best picture of the best video, everything you're

898
00:48:49.119 --> 00:48:51.199
gonna be it's gonna be labeled fake and as a hoax.

899
00:48:52.119 --> 00:48:54.360
So a one hundred percent I think about this every

900
00:48:54.440 --> 00:48:58.159
day because we are at the point where you can

901
00:48:58.239 --> 00:49:01.199
say to AI, you can be like, make me a

902
00:49:01.280 --> 00:49:05.760
nineteen nineties style handicam video of a bigfoot doing that,

903
00:49:05.920 --> 00:49:09.480
and like it's pretty stinking good. And the only like

904
00:49:09.599 --> 00:49:15.039
whenever anyone sends me stuff, if it doesn't have metadata

905
00:49:15.119 --> 00:49:17.920
or something where I can prove it, or like there's

906
00:49:18.119 --> 00:49:25.000
coordinates in some metadata on photos, I am really suspicious

907
00:49:25.000 --> 00:49:29.880
of it because again AI is getting it's just terrible.

908
00:49:29.960 --> 00:49:33.039
It is absolutely terrible. That's why I don't use it

909
00:49:33.079 --> 00:49:36.599
for episode graphics anymore. I'm staying away from that stuff.

910
00:49:38.400 --> 00:49:44.079
We need to be focusing on other things, not relying

911
00:49:44.199 --> 00:49:47.360
on like I feel like it's muddying the waters. It

912
00:49:47.440 --> 00:49:50.960
is really muddying the waters. And yeah, I don't know

913
00:49:51.159 --> 00:49:55.760
it's a discussion in itself, but yeah, it's I need

914
00:49:55.760 --> 00:49:59.599
to have a discussion with my AI guy again on

915
00:49:59.679 --> 00:50:00.000
the show.

916
00:50:00.119 --> 00:50:01.960
I think it's been a few months, but.

917
00:50:04.480 --> 00:50:08.760
Just it's it's it's wild. You're in such an interesting area,

918
00:50:08.880 --> 00:50:11.199
and I think this is the first time on the

919
00:50:11.239 --> 00:50:15.599
show that we've talked about this area of Utah. There

920
00:50:15.679 --> 00:50:19.079
might be one years ago, but nothing recent. So it'll

921
00:50:19.119 --> 00:50:23.679
be interesting to see if other people reach out through

922
00:50:23.719 --> 00:50:28.440
the comments or through email. You know to to share

923
00:50:28.519 --> 00:50:32.199
what they've experienced, or maybe they've also experienced something that

924
00:50:32.239 --> 00:50:35.639
looked exactly like what you you described, which I would

925
00:50:35.719 --> 00:50:37.559
not be surprised at all really.

926
00:50:38.119 --> 00:50:41.199
And that's and I and I try to encourage people

927
00:50:41.280 --> 00:50:43.400
like and I've put on my on my channel like

928
00:50:43.440 --> 00:50:45.320
at the end of ay, if you've had an encounter,

929
00:50:45.400 --> 00:50:47.880
you know, let me know. I'll if you guys want

930
00:50:47.920 --> 00:50:49.400
to talk about it. I mean, because a lot of

931
00:50:49.400 --> 00:50:50.840
people they just want to talk about They don't care

932
00:50:50.840 --> 00:50:55.880
about being on camera. They just want it off their chest.

933
00:50:56.039 --> 00:50:58.360
Like when I've I go to at least once a year,

934
00:50:58.360 --> 00:51:00.960
I'll go to the hunting pages on Facebook and ask,

935
00:51:01.039 --> 00:51:03.880
has anybody seen anything you know, like I don't care

936
00:51:04.079 --> 00:51:06.880
like supernatural like ghosts or what it like, you know

937
00:51:06.920 --> 00:51:10.039
it because it makes for fun content also, but you know,

938
00:51:10.039 --> 00:51:13.079
the main end goal for me is bigfoot related stuff.

939
00:51:13.840 --> 00:51:15.800
If you guys have seen anything, let me know. And

940
00:51:15.840 --> 00:51:18.559
then first comment, oh you're a quack, you know whatever,

941
00:51:19.079 --> 00:51:22.239
and then that person will privately message me like, hey,

942
00:51:22.280 --> 00:51:25.559
I've seen this in this area. Well, dear hunting, I'm like, well,

943
00:51:25.599 --> 00:51:27.280
you know, you could have just messaged me and not

944
00:51:27.320 --> 00:51:30.079
say anything on you know, but I feel like they're

945
00:51:30.119 --> 00:51:33.400
so defensive in what they've seen. They've got to get

946
00:51:33.440 --> 00:51:34.559
it out of the way, Like they got to be

947
00:51:34.880 --> 00:51:38.760
defensive first, like because they don't want to be I

948
00:51:38.800 --> 00:51:40.599
don't you know, they don't want to be outed for

949
00:51:40.679 --> 00:51:45.320
being weird or seeing something. But it's I don't.

950
00:51:45.119 --> 00:51:49.119
Know absolutely, And that's actually I do a similar thing

951
00:51:49.239 --> 00:51:53.079
sometimes and it's exactly as you said. You will get

952
00:51:53.119 --> 00:51:55.960
about ten guys in the comments where they'll be making

953
00:51:55.960 --> 00:51:58.280
fun of you, which is cool, and then two weeks

954
00:51:58.400 --> 00:52:02.039
later usually you'll get a few direct messages up be like,

955
00:52:02.039 --> 00:52:03.519
oh are you the guy that was talking about the

956
00:52:03.519 --> 00:52:07.320
Bigfoot in like in like sweet Home, Oregon Facebook group

957
00:52:07.400 --> 00:52:10.880
or whatever, just like the really niche regional ones or

958
00:52:10.920 --> 00:52:14.480
like Prince of Wales Island Facebook group, you know, stuff

959
00:52:14.519 --> 00:52:18.400
like that. Guys, just be smart and you'll find the

960
00:52:18.440 --> 00:52:20.920
small Facebook groups and you can get in get in them,

961
00:52:21.000 --> 00:52:22.960
and you know you'll you'll get made fun of, but

962
00:52:22.960 --> 00:52:23.960
you'll get some cool stuff.

963
00:52:24.920 --> 00:52:26.000
But my goodness.

964
00:52:26.880 --> 00:52:29.800
Also another thing you mentioned, Yeah, if the government comes

965
00:52:29.800 --> 00:52:32.880
out and says Bigfoot is real, we are going to

966
00:52:32.960 --> 00:52:36.639
be the most We're going to be way more busy

967
00:52:36.760 --> 00:52:41.000
because I think after that then all these people that

968
00:52:41.320 --> 00:52:44.199
have been holding back be like, oh okay, so it's

969
00:52:44.239 --> 00:52:46.639
okay for me to share now.

970
00:52:47.400 --> 00:52:49.840
It's going to be intense, dude.

971
00:52:50.440 --> 00:52:50.840
I hope.

972
00:52:50.920 --> 00:52:52.840
I hope we get there one day. I I really,

973
00:52:53.199 --> 00:52:55.760
I really do. But we'll see. You will see what

974
00:52:55.800 --> 00:52:58.519
the future brings. But you know, Matthew, I want to

975
00:52:58.519 --> 00:53:02.159
make sure that you able to share everything that you

976
00:53:02.199 --> 00:53:04.800
want to share about your encounters today.

977
00:53:04.840 --> 00:53:07.719
First off, well.

978
00:53:07.559 --> 00:53:09.400
There's one one thing so in this and in the

979
00:53:09.400 --> 00:53:12.079
same area, and I don't really I don't really know

980
00:53:12.119 --> 00:53:15.679
if it's Bigfoot related or not, but it's odd. So

981
00:53:15.880 --> 00:53:17.679
I would say it was in two thousand and two

982
00:53:18.280 --> 00:53:22.039
in the same area the first first sighting. I went

983
00:53:23.239 --> 00:53:26.639
archery hunting with a guy from my church. So I

984
00:53:26.639 --> 00:53:28.320
took him to this area because this area used to

985
00:53:28.360 --> 00:53:31.239
be really good for my family and it wasn't. So

986
00:53:31.800 --> 00:53:33.960
you come up on a knoll and it's like a

987
00:53:34.000 --> 00:53:35.599
really windy area and I was like, oh, my dad's

988
00:53:35.599 --> 00:53:37.599
told me he's just shot deer down in here. So

989
00:53:37.679 --> 00:53:40.159
you walk down this down this road and walk into

990
00:53:40.159 --> 00:53:41.960
the trees, and I'll walk into the trees this way

991
00:53:42.360 --> 00:53:45.000
and see if I can push anything to you. So

992
00:53:45.039 --> 00:53:46.920
he's all right. So he walks down one hundred yards

993
00:53:47.119 --> 00:53:48.960
and I walk into the trees and we walk in

994
00:53:49.000 --> 00:53:53.199
at the same time, and I was probably, I don't know,

995
00:53:53.280 --> 00:53:56.079
fifty sixty feet into the trees, kind of just picking

996
00:53:56.079 --> 00:53:58.920
my way through, walking and kind of zigzaging. And I'm

997
00:53:58.960 --> 00:54:05.599
standing there and I feel like something behind me and

998
00:54:05.639 --> 00:54:08.199
I don't cause there's moose in the area also, so

999
00:54:08.280 --> 00:54:11.920
I was like, well, I was seventeen, maybe seventeen eighteen

1000
00:54:12.000 --> 00:54:14.400
years old at this time, so I was like, well,

1001
00:54:14.880 --> 00:54:17.320
if it's a moose, I don't want to move right now,

1002
00:54:17.440 --> 00:54:19.800
you know. And so out of my peripherals, I'm trying

1003
00:54:19.800 --> 00:54:22.280
to look at my peripherals without moving, and I see

1004
00:54:22.320 --> 00:54:25.480
brown like on both sides. So something in moose right,

1005
00:54:26.239 --> 00:54:29.239
and there's a tree to my right. I went to

1006
00:54:29.280 --> 00:54:30.840
my right. So there's a tree to my right. I

1007
00:54:30.840 --> 00:54:32.519
can see it, and it felt like it was big

1008
00:54:32.639 --> 00:54:34.400
enough that I can put it between me and the moose.

1009
00:54:35.280 --> 00:54:38.679
And so I'm like getting ready to move, and I

1010
00:54:38.719 --> 00:54:41.400
twist and just like move to my right and twist

1011
00:54:41.440 --> 00:54:43.559
so I can see what it is. There's nothing there,

1012
00:54:45.199 --> 00:54:48.440
so and like I never put I never put it,

1013
00:54:48.639 --> 00:54:50.400
like lumped it into that like I just chalked out

1014
00:54:50.440 --> 00:54:52.719
as a weird experience and I didn't see anything there.

1015
00:54:52.719 --> 00:54:55.159
I'm like, oh, the guy from the Hunter I took

1016
00:54:55.199 --> 00:54:57.800
it there, he's messing with me. So I walk, I

1017
00:54:57.880 --> 00:55:00.880
go directly walk directly to my right and up and

1018
00:55:00.920 --> 00:55:04.400
out onto another road and I'm like, where is this guy?

1019
00:55:04.840 --> 00:55:07.480
And so I start walking down that road heading I

1020
00:55:07.480 --> 00:55:09.840
think I'm heading north at this time, and he comes

1021
00:55:09.880 --> 00:55:11.800
out of the trees in front of me, another fifty

1022
00:55:11.880 --> 00:55:13.559
yards in front of me. I was like, oh, hey,

1023
00:55:13.599 --> 00:55:15.760
there you are, And I was like, what are you doing.

1024
00:55:15.800 --> 00:55:18.239
He's like, I was chasing something this way, going the

1025
00:55:18.280 --> 00:55:21.559
completely different direction than what was behind me. So he

1026
00:55:21.599 --> 00:55:23.440
wasn'tnywhere near me when it happened.

1027
00:55:23.719 --> 00:55:24.559
Oh man, weird.

1028
00:55:26.719 --> 00:55:28.960
So I mean, and that was that's in the same

1029
00:55:29.000 --> 00:55:30.239
area that this has happened.

1030
00:55:32.760 --> 00:55:35.679
Sounds like it sounds like a really weird area. I'm

1031
00:55:35.679 --> 00:55:39.440
sure there will be people that that reach out. How

1032
00:55:39.480 --> 00:55:42.039
can is there a way people can contact you directly?

1033
00:55:42.119 --> 00:55:46.119
Matt to report through my email at Sasquatch off Road

1034
00:55:46.239 --> 00:55:49.360
at yahoo dot com. And then I've also got a

1035
00:55:49.400 --> 00:55:51.960
Facebook that I get messages on there, which is just

1036
00:55:52.119 --> 00:55:54.360
a Sasquatch off Road on Facebook.

1037
00:55:55.440 --> 00:55:58.480
Awesome, and that's also the name of your YouTube channel.

1038
00:55:58.599 --> 00:55:58.960
Correct.

1039
00:55:59.079 --> 00:56:04.440
Yeah, on YouTube it Sasquatch off Road Adventures. I realized

1040
00:56:04.440 --> 00:56:07.239
that there's a lot of other Sasquatch off Roads, but it's

1041
00:56:07.280 --> 00:56:12.039
a four x four builds and when you Sasquatch off Road,

1042
00:56:12.280 --> 00:56:14.639
when you search it on YouTube, it brings up a

1043
00:56:14.679 --> 00:56:17.840
lot of the new Broncos. So if you do Sasquatch

1044
00:56:17.880 --> 00:56:20.719
off Road Adventures, it'll bring up my page directly.

1045
00:56:22.119 --> 00:56:22.719
Fantastic.

1046
00:56:22.800 --> 00:56:26.719
So everyone listening, make sure you go over and subscribe

1047
00:56:26.760 --> 00:56:29.559
to Matt's channel, and I will have these specific links

1048
00:56:29.599 --> 00:56:34.760
to everything in the show notes or description of the episode,

1049
00:56:34.800 --> 00:56:38.599
depending on where you're listening or watching it. But Matt,

1050
00:56:38.599 --> 00:56:41.039
thank you so much for coming on the show today

1051
00:56:41.119 --> 00:56:44.159
and sharing what you've experienced over the years, and best

1052
00:56:44.199 --> 00:56:48.480
of luck in the future. Hopefully you're able to talk

1053
00:56:48.480 --> 00:56:50.800
to a lot of people and continue to have things

1054
00:56:50.800 --> 00:56:51.599
happen yourself.

1055
00:56:52.239 --> 00:56:53.880
Thank you for having me. I appreciate it. It's been

1056
00:56:53.880 --> 00:56:54.800
a good time talking to you.

1057
00:56:56.519 --> 00:56:58.840
Before we wrap this episode, I want to say something

1058
00:56:58.880 --> 00:57:02.119
directly to a very specific group of listeners. If you're

1059
00:57:02.119 --> 00:57:05.880
in the military, any branch or forces, and if you've

1060
00:57:05.920 --> 00:57:08.760
seen something that no one can explain, or if you're

1061
00:57:08.760 --> 00:57:12.039
a National park ranger or forestry worker who's been told

1062
00:57:12.079 --> 00:57:15.039
to stay quiet, or if you're a pilot who's seen

1063
00:57:15.159 --> 00:57:18.360
something strange down on the ground, or if you're with

1064
00:57:18.440 --> 00:57:22.000
the FBI a federal agency, or working intelligence and you

1065
00:57:22.119 --> 00:57:25.239
stumbled upon something you're not allowed to talk about. And

1066
00:57:25.280 --> 00:57:28.639
if you're a firefighter, paramedic, or search and rescue responder

1067
00:57:28.719 --> 00:57:32.000
who's heard screams or found tracks that didn't make sense.

1068
00:57:32.519 --> 00:57:36.360
If you're in the logging industry on a remote oil field,

1069
00:57:36.480 --> 00:57:39.519
or a trucker with government contracts and you've had something

1070
00:57:39.599 --> 00:57:43.000
happen that you've never told a soul. And if you're

1071
00:57:43.039 --> 00:57:46.920
a biologist, a wildlife specialist, or a field researcher under

1072
00:57:46.920 --> 00:57:50.280
contract who has found evidence you're not allowed to report.

1073
00:57:50.840 --> 00:57:53.320
If you're a pastor, a missionary, or someone on a

1074
00:57:53.320 --> 00:57:56.800
spiritual retreat and you saw something that shook your faith,

1075
00:57:57.519 --> 00:58:00.639
or if you work in the shadows, CIA SAY, or

1076
00:58:00.679 --> 00:58:04.039
anything with clearance and you've seen what the public hasn't,

1077
00:58:05.400 --> 00:58:08.840
then I want to talk to you, even if it's anonymous.
