Window Peeping Bigfoot Terrifies Witness in Whitmore, California

I feel free to share what happened, where it happened if you can, and all that good stuff. Get a lot of be fun. This I was. I was ten years old in nineteen seventy eight and I was up at my grandpa's place. He has a He had a double wide trailer up in on fourteen acres up in Whitmore, California, which is about sixty miles east of Redding, and it's in He's in the deep woods up there in Whitmore, and he had a trout stream and about fourteen acres. And one night I was laying on the couch in his place and I heard this noise out back, like a really loud, crashing noise. And I opened up my eyes and there was this bigfoot staring at me through the window. He was about nine foot tall, his shoulders were about four and a half five foot wide. He was just enormous and scary. I couldn't even move. I was so terrified. I was ten years old, you know, and I was terrified. But apparently these things just have a habit of looking through windows.

2:00 And I opened up my eyes and he was staring right at me. Man, I thought he was gonna come through the window and get me. I literally peed my pants, man, and I didn't say anything to anybody. The next day, I went outside to see what the crash was. And I had an aquarium back there on a table with my snakes in there, and the aquarium was actually on the ground, and my snakes were gone and there were prints all around my dad my grandpa's place. And there's a trail that leads from my grandpa's place to a fishing hole about about a quarter mile down in the woods. If you follow the stream down there, there's a blockade of where we go trout fishing. And I think Bigfoot lives on the next door neighbors property in that area, because there's nobody on that property. And I think because of the trout stream, it draws deer and it draws all kinds of animals to it. I think that's what he was doing, was he was actually hunting the stream that night, and it was pretty scary. I left the very next day, and I've never been back to my grandpa since. That terrified me, honestly. And you know, I'd never had a never even thought of anything before, because I've been up there many times, and I've walked that trail down to the trout stream and fished and blah blah blah, and then all of a sudden, that one night, it terrified me. I never went back. I left my grandpa's and never went back. I didn't tell anything of

3:31 anybody about it because I didn't want to get teased or you know, people saying, oh, yeah, you didn't see this or you didn't see that. Hey, man, I know what I saw. I might have been ten years old, but I know what I saw. And then my second sighting. I used to own a cabin up in a place called Iowa Hill, which is by Colfax and Auburn, California, Northern California, about two hours north of sam Or Sacrabento. And this was a deep forest. I lived in a place called Iowa Hill. It's up by Forest City. You can google it, and it's really deep woods. I was fishing. I went down a fire trail and I saw a bunch of bear scat at the bottom of the trail.

4:13 So I was kind of worried about getting out and fishing in that spot. But man, when you're catching twenty inch rainbow trout out of that spot, how can you say no, you know? So I got out and I went to do some fishing, and I heard something coming through the woods. I thought it was that bear that left that scat, And next thing, you know, about ten feet away from me, man, a bigfoot came out of the woods and he was staring right at me. He was growling a little bit, but he wasn't very It didn't seem like he was mad or angry because you know, maybe he wasn't the violent type, because you know, they all have different attitudes, or maybe he didn't feel like I was a threat to him because I was just a kid and I was just fishing. You know. I was about thirteen years old at the time. And I threw him three of my trout that I caught, and he took them and just walked right back into the woods.

5:06 Didn't give me no gup or anything like that. But you know, as soon as he left, I got I got all my stuff pack, got my lying out of the water, and I got that out of there. Man. You know, my dad was with me and he saw it too, and he was just like, wow, that was pretty amazing. And I was like, yeah, he goes, let's get out of here. So we left. I've never seen him again, you know, but I've seen twice. I've seen him twice in the Northern California, the Northern California area, you know. Iowa Hill is about six hours from Nevada, the very end of Nevada, in a town called Winnetonka, about six hours from there. And then that's then, like I said, we were wearing the Sierra Nevadas, you know, and they were two quite different experiences, you know. And I thought I was dead. I thought he was gonna kill me, honestly, you know, because I've heard stories and I've seen all those you know, like bog the Creature, Boggy Kreek and stuff like that. I've seen all those videos and stuff, and you know, and what's the other guy, the skunk ape? You know in in Bazouri they got the skunk Ape, and uh, you know, I saw that stuff when I was a kid. So I and then I've seen a movie where bigfoots were throwing rocks and had some miners that were in a cabin and stuff and throwing you know. So I always thought, you think, yeah,

6:36 I always thought these things were like mean and and and just killing killing machines, you know. But the one that stared through my grandpa's window at me, I I really thought that guy was gonna come through that window and get me, man. But the one up there, I was terrified. My knees were shaken and I was so scared. I was like frozen in place. Man. I couldn't have moved. I couldn't have run. I couldn't have done anything at the time. And like I said, I threw him three of my rainbow trouts man that I caught, and he picked him up and just walked back into the woods like no big deal, it's wild. Oh my goodness, man, I got I got a few questions for you. So you're Witmore, California sighting when you're ten years old and it was so close to you, do you remember any specifics about what the face looked like having that close to look to it.

7:33 It kind of looked like the picture you have in the background there, Yeah, kind of like that. But he was he was huge. I mean he had you know, his head was more it looked a little more like kind of pointy or triangleish, But I think that was just because his hair structure on him and he had he would just look like pure muscle man, like, you know, like he could take on an arm and just I don't know. He was terrifying. He was like nine foot tall because the window sill my grandpa's uh A mobile trailer was actually sitting up on blocks and the bottom of that window seal was about six foot off the ground.

8:18 It sat over the top of the bench that by snake and quarium was on, and he would have had been at least nine foot tall for him to take up that whole entire window. I mean his head was touching the very top of that window, and his shoulders and his shoulders, I mean to a ten year old, you know, they looked about four or five foot wide. He looked. He looked huge, man, And I mean it was. He was scary enough that I just I got out of there. The very next day. I called my dad and told him, you got to come pick me up and get me out of here. You know, I'm like, I can't do another day here. And you know, He's like, what's going on? Man? I just couldn't tell him. You know, Oh my goodness, was here a smell at all that you remember?

9:02 Not from the one that was outside my grandpa's place. I couldn't smell anything through that window, but the one. That's one thing I forgot to mention was I smelled a stench before he actually walked out the woods. So it actually it came like downwind on me that it smelled like a kind of kind of musky and kind of like a stench, like a dead animal stench, you know, like a dead body like he like he was, you know, rubbing a dead carcass on him or something. I mean, it was it was horrible. Yeah, you could you could smell him before he came out of the woods. And that's when I kind of thought something, something was happening.

9:44 But like I said, I thought it was originally a bear. You know, Okay, okay, what were the things that you saw that made you think, okay, this is definitely not a bear though. Oh well, when he comes out on standing on two legs. Bears don't really walk on two legs. He had human like features, you know, his hands, his feet, His hands hung down to his knees like just just a little bit. His fingers were just a little bit past his knees. And this this this big foot was only about eight foot. He wasn't he wasn't nine. He was like like seven to eight foot, So he was probably in there thing that he was probably a teenager. You know, he was probably a teenage big foot because I've heard of him getting up to like twelve feet tall.

10:36 Yeah, absolutely yeah, And. He was and he was only about seven to eight feet And I was only thirteen, So I was only, like I think at thirteen, I was like five foot, like five seven, five eight something like that. I was just tiny. And he he stood almost twice my heighth, you know, like one and a half times my height. But yeah, there was a really really rancid smell, like rotten meat, like like rotting meat or rotting flesh. You know. I don't know if you ever smelt like a dead deer carcass that's been sitting for a while, Man's that's what it smelled like. Man. It smelled like he'd been sitting on something like an elk or a deer. There's a lot of what good wildlife up there in the northern Sierra as an Iowa Hill, you know.

11:24 So how did this, you know, affect you after the age of thirteen? Did it? Did it steer your life in a certain direction because of those encounters you have? Yeah, I sold my cabin that year. I sold my cabin and I got out of Iowa Hill and I moved. I moved all the way to Michigan, you know, I just I wanted to get as far away as possible. Like I said that, if you look at like all the sightings at California. It's all up there in the northern California's northern Sierras mostly. You know, there's a few in the southern in mid California, but northern CALIFORNI like Washington, you know, is just loaded with sightings. And I don't know, I just didn't want to. I went to Michigan. I became a hunter in Michigan. Uh when I got older.

12:13 But then, uh, I got to a point where I was like, you know what, I remember what happened in California. I don't even want to go in the woods anymore. I took on fishing instead of hunting, you know, so I could be on a boat. Oh sure, sure, absolutely, yeah, absolutely. I mean, oh man, Uh, there's so many experiences that happened in Michigan. I'm sure you've looked into it. If you haven't, you might be surprised how many things happen in Michigan. It is very intense out there as well. Yeah. I just saw I just saw a thing where they found uh, somebody video to Bigfoot, uh going down the Cast River. And I think, and I was thinking, man, you know what, I used to fish the Cast River, as you know, as a kid, because my grandma lived there and I used to go visit her out there, and that's where me and Grandpa used to go fishing, was the Cast River. And then I saw them show a video of a bigfoot walking in the Cast River.

13:08 I'm glad that we never ran into that guy. Yeah. Absolutely. Oh my goodness, Eric so Man, thank you so much for coming up. I told these I wrote this report out for the BFRO, and I told them about all this stuff and where it all happened and everything too, you know, the Bigfoot Research Organization, and I gave I told them the story and all that. But I haven't heard anything from them on it or anything. I mean I can show them exactly where to go and where it was, and you know, every spot, so yeah, you know they would go out and check it out since there were so many reports over there. And like I said, it was. It was My grandpa's place was in the deep woods of Whitmore in like the backwoods, like right before you get the red bluff and stuff, and it was a man, it was a beautiful place, but scary. Let me tell you.

14:21 My grandpa always told me, don't go in the woods unless you take one of the one of the rifles with you. And I was. I never knew why I was. I was young and dumb, so I'm thinking, why would I want to take a rifle. I'm just going to play in the woods, you know. But apparently knew. Apparently he knew something. Yeah, oh yeah, he knew. Yeah, absolutely well, Eric, thank you so much for coming out. I'm not checking with a few other people, but uh man, thank you so much. What a what a great encounter. Thank you all right, man. 15:03 Wade, Yes, yeah, I did get diagnosed with cancer about a week ago. So we are working through that, trusting in God, and your prayers are appreciated. So we're gonna We're gonna take it out. So I'm glad to see you here. Wait when is my next trip? Right now, no trips are scheduled. We are focusing on I just got to cancer diagnosis about a week ago, so we are getting past that first and then we will get back out there. So, hey, how are you. I'm doing good. How are you good? It was great, great talking to you yesterday. It was fun. Let me so do you for this? Do you do you like going by?

15:50 Literally? Yeah, you can call me Edie Edie okay, perfect, awesome. So for people that weren't here yesterday, you are with ib ro O in Indiana, Indiana, and you had some really amazing accounts from the Morgan Monroe Stay Forest, which is south of Indianapolis, and it sounds like you might have something else to share as well. Yeah, like I said, I have so many stories. I know yesterday I was talking about the point where I wasn't afraid of them anymore, and that I had gotten a recording and it was the recording that stopped me from being terrified of them and more understanding, and from then on, if we heard something in the forest, I was the one in the group that went into the forest and all of the guys are like.

16:45 What is going on? Where is she going? Because I just don't have a fear of them. But what had happened is during the i'd say spring, summer, fall into early winter, we'd camp every single weekend to research. And during the cold winter months the campground that we liked to use is always closed, so what we would do is we would go up park by the road and hike down to the area in the campground where we'd set up. We'd have a fire and everything. And this was I can't remember if it was late February early March, but it was pretty cold.

17:27 We had snow on the ground. I think the tenth was like three or four degrees, so we were, you know, had our winter jumpsuits on, the whole thing. And it was myself, my ex and another member of the IBRO and we set up. Oh, it's probably about ten eleven o'clock at night. And because we knew kind of like their what their winter pattern was, and we noticed in the wintertime they're more active during moonless nights than they are when the moonshining because of shadows and whatnot. So we went out and it didn't start getting wild until probably about one o'clock in the morning, and that's when we heard the typical female howl, and that was usually followed up by coyotes barking and yipping after she would howl, and they would move clockwise around the outer perimeter of the of the I don't know if you want to call it a park, state forest, what have you. And so we heard that and everything, and then it quieted down, so probably about between two two thirty in the morning, we decided to go ahead and get packed up, so we, you know, put out the fire, got all of our equipment, put in the backpacks and everything, and just as we

18:58 had started walking up, there was a howl that was so close every hair on my body stood up. It was so close it couldn't have been any more than forty fifty feet away. And immediately we took off running because we had to run all the way up the gravel road to get to where our cars were parked outside the barricade by the road. And I mean, I've never seen men run so fast in my life. But we got up there, we got in the cars and everything, and our friend from Ibroro when it had and took off and we were sitting there and my ex goes, oh, crap, and I'm like what He's like, I left the recorders down there, so I was like, He's like, well, I could always come back and get him in the morning.

19:56 I said, we're supposed to have rain in the morning when it starts warming up, and he's like, well shoot. So we turned on the headlights and he walked all the way down. He retrieved him got home. I was like, I've got to see if we picked up that howl, because it was so close, and so I went ahead and hooked it up and brought it up on the computer and started listening to it, and sure enough, not only did it catch that howl as soon and it was one of those where he started low, went up high, and then went back down low again. After that, the bigfoot started talking, and like I said, it sounded almost like a native American language, and he spoke for about thirty seconds, and at the end he made this ooh kind of noise, and I just I kept playing it over and over and over, and it was almost to me, it sounded like a yearning, like don't leave. I was enjoying watching you. It didn't sound aggressive or anything even the how was more of a rather than a growl or anything of that nature. So I listened over and over and over, and I said, they're not here to hurt us. And so I talked to the IBr O,

21:26 and we had somebody in the group who was a linguist for the United States Army and who does a lot of the recordings for finding Bigfoot, and he said, send it to me. So I went ahead and send it to him, and he said, you one hundred percent caught a sasquatch. And he said that that language at the end, that is the word they used for human. And I was kind of blown away, but he, like I said, he does a lot of that. And like I suggest yesterday, I have I still have the recording.

22:10 I would I don't know if I could pull it up on my phone, if if I played it, if you could hear it or not? Okay, But yeah, I don't. Know, because it's it's in my I have it up on my Google what you call it? And like I said, this happened in twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, and I have kept it that long. But it's of course it has been you know, kind of cleaned up to kind of raise the sound a little bit, but you can hear him speaking very very clearly. And like I said, from that moment on, I was no longer scared, because when they're that close to you, even if they're chasing you out of the forest, as big as they are, as fast as they are, if they want to hurt you, they can hurt you. You better believe they could hurt you.

23:13 And being that close a proximity and that howl being so close that I could feel it in my chest and they didn't hurt us. And from then on is when I completely changed how I saw them and everything, and that it was shortly after that that I started writing the books. But I don't know. All I know is if I if I put the thing, if I minimize my screen, it causes the sound to be delayed. So I maybe after you bring somebody else on, I can go ahead bring it up and have it ready and try to play it.

24:04 We could try that or or I mean, if you're up for it, I could. You could even send it to me an email. Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't be live, but I could. I could check it out. I really would like to hear it, but totally up to what you're willing to do there. We'd love to share it with you, because, like I said, we have done it. We have shared it at many places that we have spoke. We've spoke libraries all around Indiana, and we did a a paranormal convention and we've played it there and it is it's just I don't know.

24:54 I just like it told me said, there are very few recordings like this out there, and that's something that I've just held near and dear to my heart because I feel lucky. Too about it. Have you ever heard of any activity out in Turkey Run State Park? I have. Actually, my daughter was out there a couple of weekends ago. She said she didn't hear anything, but she saw signs that they were around. Cool. That's awesome. I had an interview once and she it's like, want to go in through your portal and seeing a family a big foot and it was a very intense story.

25:40 But I've heard from a few people that Turkey Run has had some things happen around it, But Indiana is just I mean, and then down in who's your National Forest, there's I mean, further south you go, it seems to get crazier. But yeah, well we have a lot of limestone. We have a lot of underground caves and tunnels and things like that that I know that that's where a lot of the places where they're hiding. That's just the way I believe it. And a lot of people don't realize that Indiana is not flat. We don't have mountains that you hit a certain point in central Indiana going south that it's like there are so many hills and valleys and everything that it's it's a lot more rustic and so many forests and everything that people realize.

26:39 That we have. Right exactly. I mean, I've been to south and southern Indiana at least once and it was very eye opening. Is it possible, I don't know. Is it even possible to try to play the recording right now? I think you said if you try and may have a delay, But. Yeah, okay, I'm just if I lose contact with you, you know why. But I'm going to go ahead and bring that and see if I can play it, give it a try. Here we go, So right now we.
