Marsha has been on the show a few times and we were wanting to get an update from Marsha about some expeditions that marsh has been on recently and it's gonna be a fun shot.

0:56 So welcome back to the show. Marsha. How are you doing well? Thank you. It's awesome to be here with you and share some of what's happening out there on the trails and they, you know, except for locations be happy to share what we've been seeing out there. Absolutely, so we can. I think usually what happens is is like states are okay sometimes, but we're not going to do general locations because sometimes it's a personal private property, sometimes it's in research activity zone, just to keep everyone safe, which is totally understandable, right.

1:38 So exactly a couple of these locations were being actively researched with monitoring the equipment, et cetera. So we don't want to have unnecessary folks running around in the woods out there. Yeah. Absolutely. We don't want to cross the stream and across the streams and muddy the waters. We don't want to do that. So you've got a few things you're you're talking to me that you've been to some interesting areas over since the last time we talked to you. You were saying, should we go in order of chronological since last time we talked or what do you think would be best? Marshall, Well, I think the three of the most interesting is going to be South Carolina. It would be Iowa and uh in Tennessee. I'm the co coordinator for the two expeditions in South Carolina along with my two field partners and I can mention your name because that's published to the public on the website and it's Rick Rellis and Steve Lamb. I feel very privileged to have those who to be out in the field of those two guys, and they have so much experience and the wealth of knowledge.

2:55 Uh we make we make a good team, and that's what really improves the quality of the expeditions we do. Is South and North Carolina. I guess well, I'll just start in South Carolina. The location of South Carolina Gosha. I've been researching it for almost four years. I follow a slightly different pattern when when I'm looking for areas for expeditions, and that's kind of unique. But I interview all kinds of people, first, representatives from D and R, vent marian offices, sheriffs department, insurance investigators, even people who are dog groomers, mobile dog groomers, and so I can just collect information from a wealth of different resources. But I found a location that just incredible. Is probably one of the most squatchiest places I've been in. Even during the day, you need a flashlight it's so dark in there.

4:03 And the first time I camped there, instead of driving through and going through it during the day. First time I camped there, I had double encounters. I camp there on a standard tamp site that anyone can rent, and I happened to be in this area by myself, so I put up my tent. I didn't put the rain fly on it, which was later a pretty scary thing to do. During the day, I had multiple stick brakes, branch breaks around me, being paralleled a few times going up and down the trails. When I look in the area the research, I go up and down every trail I can find. Before I ever take any attendee out there, I've been and that's what I do. So anyhow, my first my first full night there, I set up camp and by myself, I'm the only human being in the campsite in the campground, which was sort of how I prefer it. And so it got to be about old sunset ish and I make a fire. One of the little things I do I sprink. I sprinkle the most cheapest, smelliest bacon bess I can on a fire. It just you know, attracts a lot of different printers when you

5:36 do that. And so it took till about nine o'clock nine thirty. Also had eye shine, not just eye shine, but pretty high up. And I'm looking down a slope and it's leveled with me, and all of a sudden movement to my right and there's another set of eyeshine, this time a little bit more amber than white, at about old sixty seventy five feet, And I tell myself, you know, hot dog, this looks like it's gonna be interesting night. So I wait till about eleven o'clock the fire die down. And when I set up my tent, and I didn't put the rain fly on it, so it's a an eight by sixteen tent. I had my own little office in there, et cetera. People have listened to the podcasts. No, I have a little l shaped thing for my laptop and equipment whatnot. And so I go to bed. I'm laying on my cot and I'm just looking up at the star shoe, the mosquito netting, that the mesh and going home. It took till about one o'clock, and sure enough I hear crunch, crunch, crunch sound coming up the slope behind me. And the first I hear the footsteps to my right. They're a little bit lighter. The timing between the strides is a little

7:06 bit short. Okay, that's good. Also that I hear something, it's like it appeared almost instantly right behind the tent. I can hear the heavy breathing, the panting. The steps are much heavier, and the timing between in the stride is much longer. And so now there's two. There's one to the north end of my tent, away from my cot, one right behind me in my cop some typical idea, I hang a lantern up on the shepherd's hook that or service puts out and the top of that shepherd's hook is seven and a half feet and I'll put a lantern on there. And so I'm laying in my cotton.

7:52 I can hear the breathing. I can hear it for what STEP's coming up. But the ones are closest to me are the heavier of the two. Sun on our periphial, I see this large dark silhouette just walk by corner of my tent, walk between the lantern and my tent, and I can see the side profile, the head, the shoulders, part of an arm as it goes by. And at this point I'm trying. I'm doing everything I can to control my breathing, I'm trying to not make a sound. I'm trying not to I guess the coat field and not freak out. And so even though I can see that figure walk by me and walk between me and the lantern, the lighter of the two to the right never really came into my field division, but I hear it moving around. I normally have solar panels out and the cables go through the little cord port that's on the side of the tent. But when I go to bed night down plug it from the solar generator and lo and behold, watch picked the cables and the cables got yanked about three feet before all of a sudden that stopped must have realized I had the cords in his feet or whatnot. The lighter one that was on the north end, it seemed to fade away and walk

9:24 away after about a minute and a half, which are pretty typical when I've had dissipations, they last no more to men or two. However, this time, the heavier one that I seen walk five in the speeding lettie, he stayed around for a good fifteen minutes. They walked between me and the lantern, walked back around the pipe tick table, the car went over to a corral that had metal railing, shook it, walked back over. He seemed to or he or she just seemed to pause by my car, and every couple minutes your fear, it moved to get a little close to a little further away. After solid fifteen minutes, it left, walking down the same trail that goes to the next campsite as the lighter one went to. I waited a good five minutes before I exhaled, and I had to sit up on my cock, just like, wow, you have a you have occasions that have interaction at night, and how often do you say, well, I'm unzipped a tent and look. I never do. This time it sort of forced me to look, And so I just sat in the middle of tent, in my in my chair, just trying to control my breathing. Oh my god, and get my notebook and start write everything down while it was still fresh in my mind. About three o'clock is by the time I calmed down and I laid back

10:56 down my cock and went back to sleep. About five o'clock. Five after five, all of a sudden, the corner of the tent wiggled. Either a guide rope was hit or a stake was hit, but it sounded like the lighter of the two steps that were there previously came back. It stayed around, went through on the other side of the lantern, so I couldn't see its shape or its shadow, but I heard it moving in the leaf in the ground clutter, and it walked by, went out towards the road. I could hear it on the gravel and it left. At that point, I just stayed away till sunrise. I couldn't go back to sleep. That was my first night staying there by myself, my first camping there at that research site, and I told myself, hot dog, this is where I'm in beef in the next couple of years research in this place. That was that encounter happened gosh, just twenty twenty six, twenty twenty four, somewhere twenty twenty four.

12:08 So did you say it shook a corral? Yeah, there's some of the spots have force corrals, some of them with metal piping, and I could hear the metal piping being vigorously, and that coral would have been about oh, fifty sixty feet away from my tent. In the shade. Yeah, gontcha. And so. This was just a personal just a personal expedition then.

12:53 Yeah, what it is we call it a reconnaissance. I'm always do on the prowl for good sites to take groups of people too. I would got I don't want to, you know, take a group of people out to the site and have gosh, you know, get it done. I mean it happens, you know, spotch do you figure is habitating there? And actually they're not, and all of a sudden, whom there, They've left the area. So I'm always going to look out for potential habitation spots. And I looked into this one that hitted demographic and a statistical pattern I was looking for, and sure enough I hit it.

13:39 And so that first time I stayed there, and that told that just convinced me. After that, I stayed there three more times by myself at night, and uh, each time having strong encounters like that coming into camp yelling, I mean, staying right next to your paint and scream bloody murder like some woman being assaulted. That It's just incredible. I feel it's a situation where Squatch is not aware that we are as humans are aware of them, and so they seem to be a little boulder, a little more brazen. The second time that was there again, I'm making sure i'm there by myself. There's you know, rangers, there's no maintenance staff, nothing, And I go use the restroom.

14:35 And while i'm in there, about no one hundred feet for me is an animal proof trash receptacle has got the heavy metal lids to it. Now why I'm using the facility? The lid gets opened and slammed five times, the bam bam bam, bam bam and a whole craft. What is it? You know? Do I have a almost person messing with me? Or it's you know, the ranger getting a spider off the lid that I didn't figure on what's going on? And I come out in the restroom, I'm looking. I walk over to the trash spectacle and there's loose sugar sand, but obviously there's some impressions there and those impressions are a good four and a half five inches longer than my feet. Okay, that's again encouraging daytime activity. That's awesome.

15:31 And so with all that data, I kept tabs on the location, kept tabs of when people came and went there, and so I organized and got permission from that moneymaker to run an expedition there, and Rick Rellis and my other field partner, Steve Lamb came out. We did all the mapping et cetera of permits, all those necessary administrative things you have to do, arrange for EMT and whatnot, and a cook the cooked meals, and we finally got the expansion up of the ground that was last That was last November when that first South Carolinas pedition and that location occurred and and didn't disappoint. We had encounters by the attendees. Uh, someone was wapped. We get talked about that a little bit later. We even had one area of this this location that has the area supposedly haunted and uh and without fail, we had two BFR people spot a white apparition, which was kind of odd.

16:50 Usually when you hear there's a woman in white, my mind goes to perhaps it's the now vinyal squatch with long hair or something of that nature. But long a home it was spotted. We had a team get pinned down. We figure by no more than or no less than six squats at once, throwing projectiles and yelling from different angles in different directions that when you listen to the recording you can sit back and go, well, there had to have been one here. There had to have been one there to do that. They hadn't been one over here. And there were six, a minimum of six that basically surrounded them for a good twenty minutes, throwing things, throwing things at a building, knocking, stopping their feet, etc. So that was pretty exciting. So at the same time that was occurring with another team about five miles away as the crow flies with another team thermal video one perhaps two squashed inside the bush at about forty fifty feet away, playing peekaboo, believing they weren't seen, squashed believing they weren't being seen, but were able to record video wise something a white hot spot moving back and forth in the

18:21 bushers and the shrubbery every once a while, looking around the tree at us. So that was that was pretty exciting. So that was the first expedition of South Carolina. That's that's wild, my goodness. So you said there was a white apparition. Was that something they saw then with their eyes in the daytime or was that through a thermal or. No, that was with her with an eye, no electronical devices being used. They were at a spot looking down a road and at about they figured at seventy yards.

19:03 That was used a laser rangefinder. A white apparition across me three and a half four feet wide, about seven foot tall, just slowly went across the road. It was spotted by three different people. We went back there during the daylight to do a reenactment and look for physical data, physical evidence. It's gone a few broken tree branches, but that was all. This apparition was opaque. There was no wind, no moon, so that was kind of interesting. So you make note of it, you know. Like I mentioned before I marched. I have a notebook for crazy crap I can't explain, and this goes in that notebook. And so now I do know that myself before taking people up there.

19:58 There's part of the camp ground that's been closed due to lack of usage. And I did a quick cowboy camp up there one night, and I was supposed to camp in the air, but no one saw me. So I just parked us side of the road and marched in there, put my air mattress on the ground and let's leave it back and within two hours, I saw a potential white apparition. It was opaque that was about fifteen feet away, but it was only about four or four and a half feet tall, maybe a couple of wide. I saw that. I was on the phone texting back and forth to Rick, say Rick that this place is not here and all kinds of noises out here. You know, this will be the first time I'm not getting scared out of a location. And then all of a sudden, I see an apparition and I just like, whoa, whoa, I the you know, better part of valor. I just packed my craft and went back to my car, and then I'm not there to mess with something like that.

21:03 I focus on one, one thing at a time. So that wasn't it. Yeah, absolutely that that would be tricky if you when to know when to move out, And I think, you know, you gotta. I think that's good that you're like, well, I'm focused trying to be focused here on the big foot side of things. Yeah exactly. And I know the rumor out there BFRL is anti WOU and everything like that. But yeah, to tell you, I don't find that when you talk. The other coordinators are my friends and We don't disca that stuff.

21:46 We make note of it, we recorded, we put it down, but our focus was bigfoot, and if other things occurred during an expedition, well obviously we're going to address it. But at the same time, our folk, this is big foot, and you know, and the safety of the attendees that that's the two main important things right there. So it sounds like someone in the expedition got really good footage of of what looks for me a few bigfoot, you said, peeking around around a tree or doing something similar to like that.

22:27 One of my good friends, she comes up out of Florida to be one of my team leaders, and she set up her thermal and so that it would throw its image to a tablet, and we had to contact. We're whistling back and forth. We're having exchanges of whistling and rock clacks. We do two clacks, and we get two clacks back. We do one, we get one back, we do a whistle, we get too whistled back. And that went on for a good fifteen and U this contact of back and forth, and then all of a sudden I told the team lead, the team leader that I brought up there, said, well, you know what, get your equipment ready, we'll see if we get anything on video.

23:16 And sure enough we lined up thermal and we just happen to catch it on the tablet and saw where it was coming from and that that was really awesome. That was really awesome. Oh my goodness. You may not be able to answer this, but the organization, let's say this could be any big for the organization too. You get this evidence, and I mean I've talked to not just b f Row, I've talked to people from the n A W a C. And you hear like, we've got this really good evidence. But it's then it's like like what is is there ever you know, a a plan to do anything with that or or like you know, you have the great evidence, but then.

24:05 Like yes and yeah, yes, you know you got to imagine in today's world electronically, if I start posting pictures and video, those things have geotags genuinely associated with them. I don't want to give up the location. Yeah, I mean you can strip them. It's it's a little hard, but you can. Then the other it's sort of like you know people that they want to they want the milk, but they don't want to buy or feed the cow. You know, you know, Uh, we do share the information. We have a private Facebook group page for each expedition, and all the data collected is put on that Facebook page for everyone whom attended and signed a non disclosure agreement. Uh, it's put on there and published there for them because they they were part of that expedition. They were part of that research, and so that is shared now if they want to break off their phone and say, hey, look that, or look to their spouse or whatever or their friend and go look what we saw on our expedition.

25:15 I can't tell you where, but see, well they're sharing it out there. I have to assume. But they go out there and do all the work and all of a sudden, oh yeah, we'll just share it with the whole world. Well that's sort of it's the purpose of having an expedition where we're trying to protect this this coming in. I don't want to bring in a thousand people into its habitat and chase it out. I don't want to do that. No, I get it. I definitely get it, and I can you know. I've been on I went on an Iowa bf Our expedition last year last September of twenty five.

25:55 And yeah, everything you said is completely accurate with the you had. There's a private Facebook or private group and and yeah, I mean every everyone shares, and so you get to see a lot of really cool stuff and just the people that you meet. There are a lot of people I met that had been trying to meet for years and I can never meet them. And that was the way that I was able to meet them. And it was very very close worth it. Yes, for that exactly. Now, Subsequently that was the fall South Carolina. Uh So, because the activity was so strong there, I took a group back in the spring in the middle of March. Uh Typically I would like to rotate it between locations, so you know, overburdened habitation site. But again, it just seems like squats is not aware that we are aware of them. So I like to keep it that way. And well, the whole go back out there in February, I'm sorry, middle of March, and the same the same thing we got, we got people zapped, We've got uh squatch following people back to base camp, things being thrown at us, screened, that, et cetera. So and in fact, the behavior is such that when I set up the assignments for camping, I put all the standard

27:27 attendees and newbies in the middle and now put all my bf R RO and team leaders on out of periphery, because I know Squatch is coming into camp at night. I just don't want, you know, some newbie who's never been around the squatch before being exposed to something that dramatic all of a sudden, and so uh this time, yeah, you know, on the expedition when I'm there, I'm the chief cook and bottle walker, so this and I happened to do all the cooking and so that, you know, it goes with the job. But again, it was a great expedition. We had all kinds of encounters footsteps, I jokingly say, yeah, we had cast living with dogs, dogs living with cats, and it was just incredible. Everything that was taken out taking place out there. Let's see that was Yeah.

28:29 Sorry, you mentioned that some some attendees experienced, uh what's called being zapped or hit with infrasound. Could you share one of those experiences please? Yeah, Uh, have a have a team out there, and what I was setting up was, uh, basically a way to envelop squat I put out three teams, one coming from the north, one from the south, and one from the west, and then I have a group that's out the west put on white lights and player radio talking normal tones, but the two teams on the north and south or stealth. And the trick is is we try to get squatch e gauge in a tree knock or a moop with us, and then let them focus on the group that's got the white lights in the music, et cetera, and then the team that's north and south sort of sneaking behind them, and what that does is that flushes them out. So one of those three groups to get a Class A minimum B plus. So at least that's the plan. It only works for me about twenty cents at the time, but I try it each time, and so this particular time, one of the groups in the north came in. We were in an exchange situation

30:00 with a squatch maybe two. We do a tree knock, the tree nick back in a loop, get a loop back and this very encouraging. So we start moving people in, directing them by radio, and all of a sudden that team leader is walking very quietly and also on boom like hitting a brick wall, just instantly having a reaction, and he backs up a couple of feet, all the muscles in his body tightened up, headache for prese sweating, et cetera. And then someone else walks up to and say, oh my god, are you okay? And also it hits them just a throng, and they're like, well, and this is the tendee not to be fro staff and they're like, wow, what's happening to me? I'm kind of scared, and okay, back up, back up, team leader, figure out what's happening.

30:54 We got to back up. We gotta get out of here and get the team, you know, safety. And so they're backing up, they're packing up chairs, throwing stuff in trucks, they're going to pull out. And then that same team leader for the one double techive he walks back out to that same spot and sure enough, boom, it's aft again, this time even heavy harbork. And he goes down to me and it's like, oh my god, he's coming back, and he's white knuckling the drive back to base camp totally. If you can see he's in chalk, you see that.

31:35 But the important thing is the attendees, the other staff, they're back. Everyone's cool, everyone's safe. Now what's important to know is that, Okay, later that night, about one o'clock in the morning, that that attendee that went to go check on him, she's in shock as well. If she's camped next to base camp and all of a sudden she calls on her cell phone over to my other partner, Steve Lamb and says, hey, I got followed back to my tent. There's something walking around in my tent. And so she's scared all the heck inside her tent and there's something walking around by her tent. So we sent three people over there with high intensity white lights, et cetera, et cetera. We go over there and they spot a dark silhouette running away from her tent. So that's pretty that's pretty interesting since they were about three and a half miles away when they experienced that zapping incident, and then they came back to camp and they knew right where to go. They went to her tent. So I thought that's a very very interesting behavior that I'm still making very special notes of. Yeah, with the physicality of her response and the the shaking, uh inventory involuntary muscle

33:13 contractions in their legs, et cetera. That was really really interesting. That's some scary stuff. Did anyone have like a tryfield meter on them? Uh? Not in that group. Typically I have E M F E M R, a signal generator with a Wi fi UH speaker and a carrious spectrum analyzer for sound, along with a pulsar thermal UH in night vision. I carry all that in the backpack. So when you got the field with Marsha, I. Go out with a ton of equipment, right exactly. But they didn't have one there. Now, that same team went out the next night at a different location and had someone with that and something called the spirit box.

34:05 I don't play with that type of equipment. So but they had activity using all that as well. Oh, they were getting like weird responses. With oh yeah, yeah, the spirit box identified the pretty girl with the with the navy She had a nautical hat on, carrying a load of backpack, saying get out. It's it's spoke names of people who were still researching. If there's a history there of these three people that were named, uh, they're EMF meters uh pegged three different locations.

34:45 They back up they go to zero, they go back to the location they peg. So that was and yeah, you put it in a notebook. This is crazy stuff. March. I can't explain exactly, not part of it, that part of it. My goodness. Are you going to continue to keep that spot as a as a future research area? Yeah? I have. I have four locations that I intentally research and I have LDR's long duration recorders out there. I have uh game cams and areas that I don't want squats to go to, so I want them to stay a certain areas, so I use them as a deterrent. Even though there's no batteries of just a red light, that actually is the deterrent. And so the goal between Rick and myself and Steve is a rotate expeditions between these four sites so we don't overburden them, have them get accustomed to us that kind of thing as well. That's what we're active.

35:43 We're doing. That's South Carolina, Tennessee. Oh oh my gosh, oh boy, uh Tennessee. The coordinator there is Lori Wade Fees, the Queen. He runs a great expedition. In fact, i'd say three quarters of things I do on our expeditions. I learned from her that she's the queen hands down. Everyone loves her. I do as well, and doing long story short, one of her teams goes out like on a on a Thursday night and their team is hiking up see the hills and these foot hills one night Eastern Tennessee and they have an encounter with what they believe is five six, seven different squash that seemed to be set up in different positions. They have the eye shine, the rock throws everything silhouettes, and it got so hectic for them that they pulled back. I have the notes from our debrief in the morning. I don't remember a lot of their activity other than it was just incredible that for over an hour they had an encounter with that many squats at one time. That was just incredible. Now, the part that I do know the exact detail, is when my team went out and we had our encounter

37:14 on two different nines. So I'm the team leader. I was with team four, I believe, and I take out my team and my team is three people that I know quite well, Rick rellis Greg and another guy and they're all on the truck and they're getting their gear together and me. I'm the first one out the truck because one I'm listening to see if something's running away when we get there, and two I'm trying to start a recording just as we opened the door. And so I've got this big backpack with about thirty pounds of gear.

37:54 I said extra water first, ay, tits chairs. We name it right. So I leave the pickup and they're all putting the GEARA and I leave the truck and walk down the hill a little bit and the trail has a lot of tree roots across it and then curves to the left behind a big old display of Mountain Laurel, a couple of big pine trees. Then it curves back around to the right and there's a concrete picnic table. My goal is get to the picnic table and everything orientated, figure out what north south east west is, and figure out what my approach is going to be. So I'm not paying attention, and I just walk down the little slope. I'm trying to avoid the tree roots, and I'm supposed to walk to the left behind the Mountain Laurel, come to the right. I did that. I heard something move.

38:47 I look about halfway up and I'm looking at the forearm or the by step of the squatchet about eight to ten feet. I need to take the time to take another step. It and me both turned away and started running from one another. I run. I see the shoulder, the back of the head, the buttocks, the casts, the bottom of the feet. Him running away. I'm running back towards the truck. Two of the people in the truck see me running towards them. They dropped the gear jump in the truck. Their thought is, if marsh is running, maybe we should And so I'm usually not that rattled.

39:40 I've had other sightings before, but never that close. I've never accidentally almost walked into one like that. And my heart just I've got two spins in my heart and i don't need to pressure it like that anymore. But yeah, it took them about the ten eighteen minutes to calm me down. And I'm pointing over there, pointing over there, and I'm like speechless. I almost walked into it. And they one of the guys they heard something thump, thump, thump, run away to see a fire ring with rocks that have been kicked up, the partial footprint, et cetera. Soa the physicality of the evidence is there. So after about a half hour, we go and we finally slowly walk over to that concrete picnic table and we started satting up.

40:35 I get people orientated. I like to get sewing. I like everyone in the group to sit where the note taker is facing north. So when when everything's pitch black and you say did I hear that? Or did you hear that? You don't have to play forty questions like where did you hear it? Where is it at? I can't see you pointing, so you're gonna have to use your grown up fornacular. I heard something to the north about fifty yards, I heard something to the south ten feet away. Whatever. But that's just part of my m O. And the other part of my m is like to set up a little spot to sit. Then I send out walkers to come back and forth. Maybe we get something to follow us back, maybe you know whatever. And so we set up and we're just gosh, we weren't there much more than about two hours now, it's about it's about quarter of eleven, and all of a sudden, here's something move where where we're sitting at as the funked area of concrete picnic tables, and there's a dry wash bed to a north and because the drought, you know, if there's slates and sandstones whatnot in the base of it, there's no water. And the total depth from the top of the bank to the bottom of what would have

42:06 been a creak, it's about ten feet down and it's about thirty feet across this drywash. On the other side of the drywash is more Mountain Laurel, big heavy bushes, huge pine trees in there. And all of a sudden, one of my field nates, Rick Ke, spots eyeshine. He sees white eyeshine. All a sudden, we see another set of eyes red. Then we see us at another set of white. Now there's three sets of eyeshine staring at us from the other side of the drywash in the sharp ring, and they're like, oh wow, this is awesome.

42:50 It's awesome. So they're videotaping and trying to videotape and everything, and we hear movement to our right about one hundred and fifty feet out towards the truck. There's something moving over there. We hear what sounds like a young girl, you know, talking or giggling out to our left by another one hundred feet. And so at this point I leave the circle and I moved about twenty feet behind them, so they're in front of me. Because my thought is we're going to be surrounded and I want to be able to watch our flanks and watch behind us, and so I have the high powered white strobe, I have the air hole, and I have all that, and so I'm let them go through during counter. That's what they're there for. And all of a sudden they see amber eye shine, they see another set of white and ended up within a half hour six different sets of eye shining on the other side doesn't wash and just looking back at us, and then Rick comments, this is the brightest eye shine I've ever seen. Brighter than he saw I think an interview with you I told you about in Wisconsin. This is the brightest he's ever seen. Yeah, and a strong everything else. So at this point you gotta figure the air on the side of caution. There's

44:21 probably eight, one up to the to the left, one to the right, I know, the right, try to circle around us, because he ultimately crosses the road behind the truck and comes in behind us, and so this is getting kind of pins the needle of you, you know, and hair shrut and raised in the back of the neck. And so first thing I do, I pull out my garden and I pushed the cap for the SOS button off. Now put that right in my crye. And I'm thinking something weird's going to happen. And we're being surrounded, you know. And and then I bring up my my air blast horn and I have a five thousand women high intensity white strobe and I've got that in my hand, and I'm just saying, okay, you know, we're ready the rock and roll. We'll see what's going to happen. And they're just sitting there staring at us. Things sort of calm down now that there a few of them leave. There's only two now staring at us. Things get kind of quiet.

45:26 We don't hear movement. So I said, okay, guys, well let's try something here. I go. I want you three to take a walk to the left of where we've heard the giggling. I want you to go about one hundred yards out the thirty and walk back. So I'm sitting at the concrete picnic table, basically using myself as bait, and I want them to walk up and make it look like they're leaving me alone, because I want them to see if something will follow them. That's my goal. And they get about one hundred feet away, and I can start hearing whispers, whispers to my right and whispering in front of me. All of a sudden, eye spot, eyeshining, another set of eye shines much closer on my side of the dry wash, probably thirty feet thirty five feet away, and they keep walking away, walking away. All of a sudden, I'm hearing heavy thuds coming at me from the other side of the wash, and they're getting closer and closer and closer and closer and closer, and they're getting louder.

46:37 And I hear something jump into the dry wash. I'm figuring I'm being bluff charged or charged. I hear something digging in coming out the side of the embankment. I hit the air horn, I hit the high intensity strobe, and I'm just flashing. I see eye shine about six inches above the lip of the dry wash, right there in the on the bank. Also, and those guys they see the high strobe, they come, they come rushing back. I go, okay, that didn't work out the way I thought it would. I thought they would follow them, And so they're coming back. All of a sudden, it goes back down to the wash. It goes down the wash to the right. The other eye shine on the other side of the bank disappears, or the closed their eyes, or they stopped little light. They get there, they're saying what happened? Or I had my golf stop the bluff charging and come across the then dry wash. I heard it come up the bank and I saw eye shine right there, about twenty feet away. That's why I threw on the strobe. Okay, okay, okay, cool cool cool. So we're sitting there. There's only like fifteen minutes later, and all of a sudden, there's three more sets of eye shine in that low world on the other side of the wash. They weren't intimidated by us being there. They were just sitting there, curious, watching us. And it got to a point where, also now that girl talking is

48:10 getting closer. We hear a huge whoop, huge a lot of past and bear toe to it, and you know, maybe the better part of alert. It's now about one point thirty in the morning. We're let's just pack this up. So we just announced it them. Hey, we don't mean you no harm. We're just here to see you because you can see us and we need you no harm. We're gonna pack up and go. So we packed up and left. We got back to base camp, and we were so highly energized. But I was thinking none of us got back to sleep till about four and more. But that was pretty intense encounter both.

48:54 I mean, no, just just to be at the point where you're like flipping off the safety into your garment in reach. Yeah, that's saying something. Man, that's saying something. I've never been in that situation. Marsha, that's a different situation. I'm thinking. When we don't have radio contact with the outside, I'm responsible for these people's safety, Okay, I am. And so I got no radio contact with the outside world. I've got no cell contact with the outside world. I'm in a spot where something happens, someone gets excited and falls down and gets a three route through their arm or something. I'm I'm the senior person there. If anything, I'm morally responsible.

49:43 So mm hmm, yeah me too. And so yeah, anyhow, I thought that was the better part of the dollor to do that and go ahead. I was just gonna say it's a good call, and it's I'd say, it's a if you're going to be doing stuff like this, seriously, consider you need to have something like some kind of GPS locator beacon. And I'm not They're not like a sponsor anything. I'm just saying this is what I do, and I would.

50:28 Me I was kind of gosh. I was in Pennsylvania for an expedition. I was this is the kind of situation you don't want to be in. I was on a loan for service road forty miles from anything or any one, in a downpour, brain with a flat tire and got bit by a copperhead whoa that garment staved by life. It saved my life, that garment in reach. What I did, I was able to text my sister and say, you look on a map and tell me how I get out of here. Where's the nearest place for me to go, where's the nearest medical facility? Anything?

51:17 Can you help me? And she I was able to contact her for her to tell me, we'll take that road to this road and I'll send you a map. And so with that garment, she could transmit a map back to me and I could look at it and go, Okay, that's where I'm at. I know where I am, and uh cool what it is? When I did not realize in Pennsylvania and you don't normally associate copperheads with Pennsylvania. My tire stored on the outside of the vehicle up underneath it, and so you have to crank it down, lower it down. Then you reach up and you have to swing the bracket so you can drop the tire. Well, something I didn't realize is here in the style, sometimes snakes like to get on top of that tire.

52:08 Oh that's terrible, oh man. And I reached my hang up there and sure enough hit me in the hand. And it took no more than twenty thirty minutes for all kinds of strange colors and sort of little numb and you know, little six of your stomach. But you know, she was able to give me the directions of where to go, what to do, and when I got in the cell reception, she stayed on the phone. And I would not have been able to do that without that garment at all. I'm pretty absolutely I'm glad you're able to get out of that situation. That's a scary one situation. One of the hang ups of being in investigator squatting by yourself and going out there and say, okay, here I am world, and something happens that's on me, you know.

52:58 Yeah, But. I didn't want to get up on the tanzer on you about the gardment and reach. But I take it everywhere. I don't know. I think it's a it's a good, good little thing to talk about for a few minutes. So that brings us Marsha to Iowa, and I want to just do a little disclai real quick, so just so people cannot be focusing on something. I was not on this expedition because I had just gotten back from Tennessee and I'm only able to do so many expeditions a year for certain reasons, and that's why I was not able to be there, and I greatly regret that. For what you're about to hear, so.

53:50 L Well, first off, my good friend Betsy and my other friend Lonnie there were the coordinators. And I told Ben, if you ever do an expedition, I don't care where you are, what you're doing, where it's at. I will be there to help you. And so she says, Well, about a month later, she goes, I'm doing one in Iowa. You come on out, Yes, ma'am, I will be there. And so. So I get there a couple of days before the expedition starts and we're in Asle and uh. So I get there on a Tuesday, and I'm by myself. There's no one in the campground, there's no one adjacent to me, nothing.

54:33 I go, okay, this is this is the formula that I'm accustomed to. All right. So I get set up and run around dinner time, I start a fire and I'm just paying attention to my surroundings. I set up my equipment. Usually what I do is I mount a tripod to the ground. I'm actually screwing the cable into the ground to a fix that try so it does not move. And then I put on that a backup battery with a task cam, seven x multi directional microphones and all that, and so I get that set up.

55:16 I also put up a GoPro Hero thirteen that's focused on my tent. So all that's going good. And so I sit there by my fire. I wait till it gets dark and later, I learned that there's actually wolves an I one. I didn't know that. I thought there were coyotes. But anyhow, I hear wolves, and that's that's kind of nice. I spot a little I shot eye shine twice in a free knock, and I go, okay, this is encouraging. At this point, I let my fire logs burn out. It's by eleven o'clock. I'm gonna go in my bed. I'm gonna go to bed. So at this point I'm gonna put an asterisk right here because there's day day and realizations that came up with during this encounter that take me back three years. And I was able to connect the dots on a few occurrences.

56:22 And so I get my tent. I'm laying on my cot, and my COT's on the extreme right end of the of the tent, and I fall asleep. I don't hear anything more. My tent is set up on the gravel area, but I'm surrounded with deep leaf clutter all the way around. A great scenario one a half. And so the next thing I remember is in my eyes and I'm seeing stars like I've had a mile can custon or something, and seeing stars like whoa. And I catch myself first yelling in my inner voice, then trying to get it out with my outer voice, and I'm yelling no, no, stop, stop stop. I can hear something breathing and sniffing about a foot away from my head. I hear something moving in a leaf clutter. My cat shakes twice, and I'm just trying to gain focus to be conscious, and I yell out again stop. The reason for that yelling is so at all time mark in my recorder, and so

57:53 I managed him to half off the cot and I move over to center of tank my chair. Now sitting there, I'm trying to shake the coblebs out, get these stars to go way, and I find looking at the timing on the recorder, it's been about twenty minutes. It took me to clear my head. And I've had selfsequent dreams of seeing a hand right in my face from three four inches away, But I don't know if that's a dream from fear or what that is. I can't say I asked what I saw that. But since then, about halfway through the expedition, I'm doing the standard tick check, you know, and I've got bruises on my calf on my right thigh on my right shoulder sore, and the bruises are just dos like circles or oblog like someone was a punchy with knuckles or something. I've since been to the doctor. I've a mild ligament tear of my right shoulder right now that I'm dealing with. And the whole rest had expedition. I stayed in base camp, having counters.

59:10 I was the one who would stay back at the fire at base camp when everyone else went out. So I'm watching the gear if anything, and all the hold I shine out to the out to the northeast up on the ridge, and then also movement to the right, ended up coming in about twenty five thirty feet away from Betsy's tent to see another one shadow running through the woods, three knocks, et cetera. And that was Friday night, I mean, and it just seemed like from after that encounter on Tuesday night, we had squatching camp every night doing something getting into trouble. But when I wherever I was, it seen that squat seemed to follow them there that base camp going down trail trail, I think it's Trail nine going down these different places, and so I just found that really unusual. But coming home with the bruises and whatnot. Now the reason why I put an asterisk by that as for an important reason, Remember I mentioned that notebook or crazy stuff Marsha can't explain, right. I go all the way back to our initial interview, and

1:00:40 I told you about being left alone guarding it that big circus tent and for some reason sitting in a chair with a rifle across my lap, and waking up five and a half hours later laying in my cot, and another occasion of being in my tent and feeling like I'm having a mind concussion. I guess these stars, but I can't hear, I can't move, I'm frozen. Here's now a fourth time where I'm sure to breath. My cot has been moved, and you feel it move. I've seen stars like I've had a concussion. I can barely talk.

1:01:21 I can't get the words out, and it's all I can do to y'all stop or know. I think this is setting a trend. I think this is a heavy use of in for sound to knock me out by myself. And so now that I'm now these these dots, these observations, are all independent in my notebook of things I can't understand or can't explain, But all of a sudden I collect enough of these and they connect the dots. And so there in Iowa. Other people had encounters at their car, handports on cars, waking up feeling nausea, Betsy having motion near her in the kitchen tent, you know, fifteen feet away, something walking around her tent, three knocks out by the ouphouses, and things of that nature. So for me personally, the Iowa expedition connected a lot of experiences that I could not explain. It allowed me to say, well, okay, now I see the connection between all these experiences and what I've encountered physically and the X rays of my leg, the X rays on my shoulder, the MRI of my shoulder and stuff like that. That's something literally shook me

1:02:55 and my cot with force. And I don't think it's an active aggression. I think it's this entity is so strong that what it comes up and it pushes on stuffing is are you in there? And that h are you in there? As a pretty heavy hit, you know, And I think, again, I don't see that's an active aggression. I see this just an active inquiry, and my human body is not strong enough to take that inquiry, I guess, so to speak. That's some really scary stuff when you get stuff like that that happens to your actual physical body.

1:03:40 Marcia, Yeah, right right now. Like I said, I went to the VA here in Columbia and they got me in and it took about a week and a half to get in to see them. They MRI on my shoulder, et cetera, etcetera, and like, well, you've got a mind and tear in this ligament and your road of cup is is swollen. And did someone grab you or shake you by the shoulder. Did you get the car accident where the seat belt can find your shoulder? No, No, I didn't tell them obviously what I was doing. Otherwise, you know they sitting for the slight department. But okay, I have physical evidence there's something something was pushing on me.

1:04:30 And I told other people i'd be there by myself, and they're like, no, I don't think i'd go there by myself. Oh really there are individuals. I said that, that's really interesting. Wow, yeah, I don't bet you been there by alf I'm normally I'm of the general opinion that as long as I'm not actively pursuing them aggressively looking to armed them, I think there's a strong percentage that they're not going to harm me. Ahlways, you know, I'm smart about it. Almost walking into one obviously could have squashed me, killed me right on the spot. But we both turned around into fear and ram from one another. That, you know, I thought that was kind of unique. Why didn't he get or she just stand there and let me run away?

1:05:30 Why did it run away? You know, I'm kind of curious about that. Also, there could have been a couple of sweat stains on my coat that are not mine from that encounter. We lost for a second. There there's two. Sweat stains on my sleeve of my coat from Tennessee that are not mine. I wonder if when the squatch turned around in a hurry, then maybe a drop of sweat came off the hair and flicked onto my coat. I'm not sure I have saved the coat. I've talked to a couple of people of where I can get it examined, etc. So we'll see where that leads.

1:06:18 So going back to Iowa for a bit. So you're saying that multiple people in that expedition had visual sightings of something. Would you say. There was at least four other people that had the sightings of the eye shine. One other person saw this littleette running through the forest. I also seen the silhouette go over by Betsy's pent. There was two occasions wearing attendee was slept through her car and was afraid to look out the window, but could hear something walking around her car. And another attendee stayed this entire time in the car and had handprints on the side. Something Josto I suggest and moved the tarp off his supplies, et cetera.

1:07:09 Three knocks out from behind the outhouses and some really unusual sound like someone gagging or regurgitating sounds. Haven't quite understand that one yet. Oh, that is weird. I don't think I've ever heard that come up in an interview where it's a strange noise like that. That is weird, as I'll get out. Yeah, it's been recorded. It's been recorded. We're all sitting there scratched our hand. Go what is that? Yeah? There are a couple of people that were very avid and experienced people when it comes to doing recordings using audio equipment, et cetera. I don't tendly be an expert at any of that equipment, but I am knowledgeable enough to use it or not use it.

1:08:00 Yah. Uh. The only piece of equipment I really really focus on is the E M R the MS stuff. I have a a pole star thermal that's a Tellos fifty XL and and so I I'm able to put that up on a tripod, go in my tent and watch the image from a from a tablet or my cellphone, and so in doing that, I can cover two areas at once. Would you go back to that area for follow up after you experienced something like, you know, messing with your your.

1:08:43 Yes, I would go back, and in fact, I would approach it immensely differently. I would set up a couple cross thermals that do not have any kind of IR signature at all. Uh. I would also have some long distance monitoring, maybe with AE, having someone out there three four hundred yards the telescopic lenses watching me, and I would set myself up again, you know, start a fire, always sprinkle bacon bits on the fire and uh, and camp, make noise, let him ski hear me see me, and just try to draw them in again and see what happens.

1:09:32 I mean, yeah, I got some bruises, but I'm no worse for wear, and my shoulders sore. Okay, fine, that's just another eye of profen. But yeah, I'll do it again. Yeah, be interesting to see if there's a there's any type of follow up from the organization with that area, because I mean, that's that's pretty active. I mean, well, there is follow up. My good friends that they're not just leaving this encounter out there alone. They'll be back out there. They'll be out there monitoring and everything else. Just for me, it's a drive from Flumby, South Carolina, Iowa. Is quite a job. So I can't do that weekly like I do in my research areas where I go out there every couple of weeks and you know, sit on different trails and whatnot. So they're they're aware of it, and you know, they show leadership.

1:10:37 It's up to them to follow up. They have the report, they have the information. Now it's up for them to take it one step further. And I trusty, Yeah, I'm sure. I mean I was able to meet Betsy at the other expedition, and she's a great individual. So she's a good thing. She's one of my best girlfriends out there. Absolutely, absolutely, well, Marcia, thank you so much for it. Always a pleasure to have you on the show to share what the b f R O has been up to and what you've experienced, and you know how your journey is progressing as you go along, and it's it's taken this interesting turn and you know who, who knows what will happen next. It sounds like you're going to be continuing to go out there.

1:11:30 Yeah, I'm usually uh you'll meet me yese me if you come to an expedition somewhere affiliated with the East Coast south of New York to Florida, out to Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee. I'm usually there. I do about ten to twelve expeditions a year, plus my own independent research and and then monitoring a different future X for different sites. In fact, I'm working on one right now. I got a call the two field biologists that got isolated from the vehicle a tall, dark three something they wuldn't name. It kept them away from their truck for about two hours and then they called nine one one the sheriff come out.

1:12:26 Sheriff didn't see anything about send it to sheriff. Left. They heard screens and pine cones being thrown after vehicle. So yeah, you know where I'm going this next week. Oh yeah, wow, man, that's you said, field biologists. That's incredible. Yeah. Yeah, they're out there studying foxes and how they're I guess moving into an area and housing environment, affecting them in their population and whatnot. And so I went and touch chat with them. They don't want their name shared, what organization they're with, but like I said, I use a unique set of resources. I talked to veterinarians, mobile dog groomers. People put up little feed by five cards and little local grocery stores that say, hey, you know we we do We're a handyman. Hey. Those people travel all over an area, they see everything here everything, and so yeah, I want to chat with those people. And that's what I do. I have friends with d n R, you know, different rangers and whatnot, and so I try to draftle well for different resources and directions for information.

1:13:39 You know, even one gentleman who's an insurance adjuster. When a couple of claims were put in for horses that were assaulted, I got a chance to sit on top of him. So that was pretty pretty unique. So I think that's some good thinking outside the box of people to talk to that people could definitely take away some good step. Of people. You know. One thing we do like we like skeptics to come out on BFRO expeditions. We really do. I commonly will tell attendees I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'll let the proof being opponent, you see for yourself. And so we like having skeptics come out.
