2:23 check out their stuff, especially their YouTube channel. They have amazing bigfoot and ENCRYPTID related documentaries and you'll be watching for hours and days and weeks and you'll love every minute of it. All right, chatted for long enough, so let's get on with this show. All right, Pickfoot Society. How's it going? We got justin here from Cryptis of the Corn. How's it going today? Justin? Oh, live in the dream. Thank you for having me, dude, such such a good time. How's your booth, ben, I see you over at booth busy busy? Yeah? Any good stories over there? Yeah? Not ones will probably talk about right this second because they're fun ones. Yeah yeah, some good ones. Everything from fairies and orbs to some bigfoot stuff, which is always exciting. Let's talk about Cryptis of the Corn for the listeners that haven't checked you guys out, so tell us a little bit about what Cryptis of the Corn podcast is perfect. We like to say where we're a scientific and a magical thing combined. I'm justin my coast as Jay, I go by the Great and Powerful Mystery, and he's always a j clone. There's a whole bunch of them, and there's like a closet full of them and just pick one. But no, like scientific and magical thinking. I was an endangered species biologist. I was a field biologist that specialized in endangered species surveys, habitat surveys, did a lot of e DNA work, which is for everybody the big foot field, you know, is kind of a hot button term. But so I did that with other species and stuff like that. Our record we rediscovered two species is what my crew did, so extra pated species, which just means locally extinct.

3:55 In one big range expansion, which was a fish about that big as a freckle belly madatom had a four hundred and eighty mile range expansion, so that means that you know, their range grew so dramatically. Alligator gar back in Ohio was a big one for us because now they have legal protection. So they've been missing from Ohio for about one hundred and eighty years, and once they were confirmed to be back, they get legal protections. So in the US and most of the world, extinct or locally extinct species have no rights. So just because there's good habitat for it doesn't mean it's protected until that animal was back in its in its habitat. The only one would be the Iowa darta we discovered in its place in Illinois. That was the one I had to go to court with a lot because it literally stopped. I can't I won't to say the name of the company, but a giant delivery service company sponsor. Yeah, I'm just kidding. Oh oh. They were supposed to wait to put in a warehouse fulfillment center of people. They were supposed to wait to put that in until after their ser was done, and they had already started and we found the endangered fish there, so they had to stop building it. Like I'm telling you, where we were standing in the site, I could see the building they were building. So they had broken a lot of rules and they were extremely not happy with us. High five. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, so now it's a wildlife area.

5:18 It's gorgeous. Now. They tore all that stuff out of there and repaired the rip perian zone, which is healthy for healthy waterways. But so you get a lot of that mixed in with the cryptid stuff. I'm just going to ask you about that. Yeah, so we like do the science behind the sasquatch atmospheric creatures, one of your favorite topics, which we'll talk about. We mix in what makes biological or scientific sense to show you that the cryptid field is full of stuff that makes sense. And some scientists will you know, And I was a scientist for a period of time. I'm not paid anymore, so I don't get that moniker. But we have scientists on our show that come on and talk about their feelings on cryptids in the paranormal and stuff like that and how it makes makes sense. So we do a lot of that, and then Jay's the conspiracy guy, brings a whole different flavor. Have you been into cryptids in your entire life or yes, okay, I was a lake monster guy, a sea monster guy I was.

6:13 I was a fisheries biologist, was my actual job. So I love fish and salamanders are my favorite things. So I believed in a lot of ocean and sea and lake monsters and stuff like that. Never believed in Bigfoot until even three years. I had a big foot encounter, which will kind of gloss over because we talked about that I finish. I think it's been long enough. We need to talk about it again. Okay, it was a lot of encounters happened, and it is even after that, I still didn't believe in bigfoot for three years. So I've seen a bigfoot, but I was literally getting ready to go to college to you know, go into biology. So I'm like, I didn't see a big foot. I just couldn't have seen a big foot. And then now back I was known at the guy at the lab that was the bigfoot guy kind of deal, you know. So yeah, I was always into it lake monsters mostly, and now what's everything? It's the thing I love about your show is literally everything.

7:04 So if you're if you want to like get out into the cryptid universe and even crazier stuff like stuff out in the sky and yeah uprah atmosphere, creature, Black Eyed Kids. We have a whole episode coming out in a couple months about speech recognition in other species. Oh wow, we actually have a biologist of working on it with cetaceans, which are whales, the Baileen whales, you know, stuff like that, uh that they have probably just as complex as language as we do. And so where do you draw the line for sentience, ship computers and mushrooms and all that, you know, the big mix, Go get a little bit of everything. So the way that I was introduced to Justin's podcast is I was trying to come up with an idea for a series name for a podcast I was going to do in my Patreon which is going to be Iowa themed, and I was like, oh, my goodness, I should do call it Cryptis of the Corn.

8:00 I better check to make sure no one has it, and I was like, oh, there's a one. So I was like, oh cool, I get and turns out you're cool. So it was awesome. It's a very very good podcast. But I do want to first talk about and this is a really random rabbit trail I just thought of, but do you have any feelings on how they are trying to bring back extinct animals into today's world like the thilasine. I have a lot of opinions on that. I'm sure I love to hear it. Glasses Bioscience is the company doing it. The main company there are several out of Texas, but they have labs all over the world. So they actually already have the facility built in Siberia for the mammoth. Oh wow. So they have rules, right, they have categories and rules. To select a species to unextinct, it has to be man cost So you can't just bring back a dinosaur, you know, the extinction event or at least the final nail on the coffin has to be something related to humans, you know, so it knocks out a lot of those other things. They have to have habitat that still exists this day, so you can't bring We couldn't bring back to mammoths of Siberia and the Yukon didn't still have habitat for them. Keep mind, these were a little bit bigger than Asian elephants and African elephants are today. But they were cold weather derivatives, like they needed a lot of cold. But when they went extinct, we lost a lot of species with them. They were called the cornerstone species of an environment and the winter. Specifically, what mammoths would do is they take

9:31 their tusk and be like a snowplow and re expose vegetation that was covered by feet of snow. So all these little species depended on these monsters to move hundreds of tons of snow so they could get to the food. So when mammoths went out, you know, everybody else is like they died in the winter. They have to have a living relative that can carry an embryo or they can pull an embryo from and we don't need to get into all that. It's really hard. It's a lot easier to do this kind of work when you have an ambry So for the mammoth, it's the Asian elephant. African elephants aren't very closely related to mammoths whatsoever. Asian elephants are Asians and African elephants are very distant related themselves. They're kind of the two last branches of the big packet orham family. Sloths are another example. Two toad and three toad Sloths aren't really related to each other very closely at all. They're the same thing where they're the last two branches of this tree that was all crazy. So they have to have habitat, they have to be man destroyed, they have to have a living relative. So their list is mammoths, try lis, scenes dodos, and stellar sea cows. Now stellar Seacou's is just a giant manatee that was in the Pacific Ocean, and we actually think they were in the Atlantic Ocean. Two. They were hunted to extinction in about five years because they were big as whales and they were really easy to stab to death because they didn't really fear anything because they would live in kelp forest. So the only real predator was Orcus. Orcusts can't go into calp forest, still drowned. The stellar Seacow was really good at like making pathways and you know, not drowning inside kelpforce humans drown in culp forest because its

11:01 like swiming in a bunch of nets. But yeah, so they weren't. They were more like the Dodo. You know they always make the joke Dodoes were dumb, now Jododoes of all with no predators, so they didn't have that instinct that a something's coming up and grabbing our eggs. You know, let's deal with it. My opinion is everything except the Dodo still has sightings this day. We have done several episodes on mammoth sightings. Oh sure, yeah, up in Canada, Alaska, right yep, and even in Siberia. Some of the bear hunters say that they find mammoth trails. Still, you got to talk about Siberia's a size of mass, like a massive country that you know, a couple thousand people really live in. So you have, essentially, you know, this massive amount of land with a small group of people, and it's almost unhospitable even during the summer. It's known as Mosquito Capital of the world. The swamps that form in the tundra are so intensive that it's almost no research gets done there because it sucks. It sucks in the win it sucks in the summer. If you're a biologist, where you're gonna pick to go, You're gonna pick to go to the Yukon, or you're gonna go pick to go to Arizona. I know where I'm going.

12:09 But the Trili scenes still seem to this day very credible, eyewitnesses, a lot of photos, the habitats still there, the man is still seen to this day, and the stellar sea cows still seem to this day. Interesting. I don't know. We did a conspiracy kind of episode about it that I kind of wonder if they're not recloning these animals, if they just found them and are making a big What I like to do about it? How about this? Do you think it'll ever come up, like let's bring the Gigantapithecus back or would that not even be an option? Right now? As far as I know what their genetics, it wouldn't be an option. Okay. The only thing we have that's kind of related to them would be an orangutang, and it's not very close, okay, So just genetically, it'd be very, very very difficult to even do it. We have the DNA, you know, we have good teeth samples from these guys that aren't fossils, their actual teeth from epithegs and some jaw fragments, so we can bowl DNA, but to actually bring them back, so I don't know.

13:07 The long term, I'm fine with them bringing back those kind of animals, like I said, if they actually listen to those criteria that they set forward and there's habitat and there's protections, and you know they can do it ethically, Yeah, bring them back. Thing with mammoths, you know, it's very limited ranges, so you can't have the forty million mammoths that used to exist at one time on the Earth everywhere, but you got to like people like the Yukon. Sure, you can release a whole bunch of mammos up there. They're gonna be They're gonna be fine. They're not gonna run into people's towns. But trying to convince like Canada may be a little more difficult. Canada, even in the Yukon and stuff like that, has a little bit higher population densities, so it may be a little harder to convince like, yeah, we're moving this this twelve ton animal next door, he's fine.

13:52 You're allowed to shoot him, but you know he'll stay out of your corn. Another behind the scenes saying about why I really appreciate Justin is when I get a I get a lot of like evidence in my email. I get a lot of photos. But I also have gotten some sounds recently. And I remember I was listening to Tony with the Confessionals and he would bring up you Justin my biologist. So I'm like, oh, I know who that is, yep, And He's like, I Justin's my guy. If I have a sound, and I was like, oh, that's a good idea. So I was like, I sent you a sound from Alabama. Very interesting. We can't really get into it. It turned out well, we men say what it ended up being, though I think that's okay, so and it wasn't a good match. That's what I do with my confessionals and several other people, is if I can knock it, if I can figure out what it is, a lot of birds, like there's so many birds you don't realize that make the birds the size of your hands, can make giant guttural sounds that are really terrifying and you don't realize it's something you know that big. I'll try to idea location. Helps a lot like nighthawks and tape not tape jars, night jars, the big white male frogbirds.

15:03 They make really really, really scary sounds. I'll try to idea the best I can. If not, I'll give you a best of like it's close but not really right, And that one I believe it was. If I remember and I was wild boar was about the closest right I could get with the teeth cutting in the it was a it was a hunter had approached me and he was like, I ran into this sound that I recorded while I was hunting snakes, and in the video you can see his arm is shaking. He's like, I don't know what was going on. I was like, I'm not a biologist. I was weirded out. It sounded weird like bears, for example, and porcupines make really weird noises. If you're not around those animals very often, and you hear a porcupine trying to mate, it's a scary sound. Everybody in here knows about, like the woman screaming with bobcats and mountain lions and stuff like, they literally sounds like two women murdering each other kind of deal. But bear now with tree knocking with sasquatch, this isn't all of it or nothing like that. But bears will cut their teeth, is what it's called. It's a behavior where they slam their canines into each other, and if their bears are big enough, it actually sounds like you're taking two by fours and slam them together real quick, and it's a warning thing. It's normally it's not a good sound to hear because if you're hearing it, some bear somewhere is let you know you're too close, and I'm really bothered by what you're doing, so turn around and walk the other way. It's like rattlesnake rattle. Do you think any sounds that

16:34 we think might be bigfoot sounds could be actually misidentified bear sounds animal misidentified animal sounds for sure. Yeah, not all of them, Like I'm never all of them. I mean, you have stuff like the Sierra sounds that have been analyzed forward backward, left and right kind of deal. And there are plenty of what I believe are big foot sounds. But like you know, the boat you're in, the boat we're in, you get sent a lot of stuff and you'll be like, well, that's a niger, are right, And you just don't know that bird exists even though you live in the state they're in or whatever. You know. There was one we got that was absolutely terrifying. I believe it was a hoop owl from Texas and she was thought it was. She was having PARANORLM encounters in her apartment in town and she's like, there's a demon that's screaming at me. And she played it and it was there's a little tight with like an owl that's six inches tall and it was nested. She found it later. It was nest above her window sill where she couldn't see it from inside her house and at night, this little group of owls would sound like freaking demons going off. Oh man, big for society will be right back after these messages. So there's demons in the wall. Well yeah, there's a little yeah, but yeah, so yes for sasquatch sounds, I do think a portion of them are

18:07 rarer animals that the average day person in the woods doesn't get experience. Interesting. Do you mind if we spend some time if you could share again your your bigfoot encounter that happens as it's been a while since. I'm gonna give this the real quick absolutely, because I think when we did it was an hour. Normally it's like an hour and a half. So side note, there's another episode with Justin a few years ago and it's about two and a half hours. So if you enjoy this, you can get really deep into adjusting conversation. Yeah, go ahead, And I've done it on our show a couple of times. Just the real because everybody always asks, you know, So here's just like a flat one, but real fast. We had a family farm northwest Ohio, Harden County. We had the biggest tree lot in our county. We don't have a lot of trees. So when I say woods, you know in it for the story, it's a very very small woods. You know, it's not anything massive, probably a couple one hundred acres. So Jane's actually calling, oh, right, and I wonder if you won. Everybody prayed for Jay. He's at National Bowling right now, so you got some money, all right. No, So a lot of weird stuff happened. We had a farm I breathe. At that time, I was breeding competitive chickens. I had like five hundred birds. So everybody's seen dog shows and stuff like that that exists for chickens. So I had some chickens that were just a little shive of a thousand bucks a bird kind of deal. Yeah, I mean, just like dogs, you know you can get once you get. I had five dollar chickens too, so don't get me wrong. I had a lot of egg lagging chickens. So

19:37 we had weird stuff happening. Like, we had horses and my mom was a goat farmer, so we had fifty sixty goats. So we had this big grain bin in the barn, dabbed by grain by like the palate and get it delivered because it was cheaper when you're going through that much feed and put it in there. So this lid was like a series like an obs sheet four by eight. It started getting left up and only a couple of me and a couple of the older siblings were the only people that could lift up by yourself. So rats were getting in there and stuff like that. So we were always fighting with each other. Stuff was getting moved around the farm a lot, and like it'd be like a rake would now be in the corner of the fence and that kind of just a lot of weird little stuff. Enough, we were starting to kind of nip at each other and get in fights because life was already hard and now one of my siblings were making it harder for everybody else moving stuff around. The first year, I'm trying to it's been a it's been a minute. Yeah. Absolutely. The big event we had the first year was so this beeny eleven. Over the two big years of the stuff happened was our driveway was about half a mile long, like it was it was like an appeal land, Like our land was in the middle of a bunch of farming land and stuff like that.

20:56 So they had to give us like a little strip to get way back to our house. So it was a big one driveway disappeared nowhere. Couldn't really see a neighbor kind of deal. So I was working at McDonald's. It's Fourth of July weekend. I was closing, so I get off of like eleven thirty. We had the campground we would go to and watch fireworks. It's Indian Lake, but locals, you know, if you know where Indian Lake is. So it's about a half hour away from the house. I called my mom and I'm like, hey, you know, I'm just gonna go home for the night. I'm just gonna I'll shower and then I'll come up in the morning. So I get home. Our house is like U shaped, so the kitchen and the living room are kind of next to each other but not connected. You know, you gotta go through the whole house. They're both glass and they both face into the woods. We had three dogs. We had Sunny, which was one hundred and like fifty pound golden poodle and he was my brother's service dog. We had Bailey, he was like forty pounds, and Clarice. Clarice the dog that pooped while we did the first episode call back. Yeah, yeah, so she lived a long time. Poor went out for yeah, poor one out for Clarice. Everybody when you're drank of the night. So I get home and I try to let the dogs out and they won't come out, and I thought that was kind of weird. They wuldn't even come in to the kitchen. Now knowing what we know now is why you know answers questions later. But I was like, come on, I'm yelling at Sonny and stuff like that. Nobody wants to come out. So I'm like, whatever, close it I walk.

22:22 I will go away to the living room, walk around the whole year of the house. I lay down the whole time I'm walking through the house. The dogs are like glued to me, which they haven't seen anybody all day or whatever. So I lay on the couch and Bailey and Clarice hop up on me. The weird thing is it Sonny hopped up on me too. This is a service animal. This isn't some big, you know, goofy dog. This dog is trained to help my brother that can't walk to balance, and you know he didn't do these kind of actions. So I yelled at him and he laid like on the floor right beside me. So that was already weird behavior for him. Way off, I hear boom boom boom. On the other side of the woods, there are like four five families that kind of live on this woods. They're all old couple, older couples, you know, you know, everybody's at sixty seventies, kind of to older farmers. So I'm thinking it's they have family where it's Fourth of July weekend. Somebody's letting on fireworks, right and about ten fifty minutes pass and it goes boom boom boom a little closer. I'm like, okay, so their kids are going through the woods, you know whatever. Fifteen minutes pass, boom boom boom a little closer. This now is not sounding as much like a firework. It's sounded like somebody's taking a sledgehammer in the woods and beating on a tree. It's always three. About another ten to fifteen minutes pass, there's an old dead tree right in the corner of the yard.

23:40 Boom boom boom on that. So I call Nick, he's our neighbor boy, my best friend growing up. I'm like, hey, are you in the what are you doing And he's like, no, we're in Pennsylvania. I'm like, okay, well there's somebody out in the woods just screwing around and stuff like that. It started freaking me out this point. The dogs aren't moving, they're not making any noise. Uh, they obviously can hear what's happening. They're not reacting, which is what's scaring me. Like I said, Sonny, I defended my mom against somebody that tried to grab her one time. That dog was a trained animal, you know, for protection and to help support my brother. So where I'm sitting there, there's guns in the next room. I don't want to get up because the room's all glass. At this point in my head, I'm like, I don't want whoever's out there to see me where I'm at in the house, I'm laying flat on a couch. Then you hear boom, boom boom on our big metal barn. The horses freak out and actually break out, and they're going nuts. In the field. You hear them just running circles just you need, you know, making all kinds of noise, getting goosebumps. Yeah, and I'm so scared. I'm just frozen. There. I can't move.

24:48 Like I said, there's guns like twenty feet away. I just got to get up and grab one. So it's about one hundred feet like where it hit. I'm freaked out. I'm so so scared about another ten minutes past, there was an old Porsche car like thirty feet from where I'm sitting. Boom boom boom. I'm literally like in tears at this point. The dogs are making no noise and it's freaking me out, and I'm like, there's somebody about to come in the house at that very moment. My aunt uncle are living on us at the time, came flying down the driveway and they're convertible blaring music. I come out, I'm bawling. They just take me into town and they're like, you know, we'll come back out in the morning and deal with it. Well, Nick's dad is retired military police, retired detective. They were home the next day. Well, he came out and he heard the story and it was just me, dad and him, and he's like, you know, He's like, Bill, it was that's my dad. He's like, it was a guy with a sledgehammer.

25:41 I found where your son said he hit stuff, and I would have seen this stuff. But he hit everything with a sledgehammer four times, and I'm like, no, it was three times. I remember it's burnt in forever. It was three times. Every thing was three. He's like, no, it was four. And Dad's like, well, why do you think it was four times? And why do you think it was a sledgehammer. Well, we'd go to the barn and like eight nine feet off the ground, you could see four big indentations. So He's like, the only reason you could only you could reach up there is with a sledgehammer, you know, doing the full swing, and you can see the four marks he hit. They were right in a row. Later on we found, you know, knuckle marks of just something punching the same spot, just making noise.

26:22 So that's the first big year. After about October, everything stops. All the weird stuff kind of goes away and everything goes right back to normal. April the next year, it all kicks back up to ten. The piles of stuff are like huge. I'm talking hay bales, car hoods, the saw horses. It was just stuff moved around, yeah, but it was getting put into like piles in the corner of the fence and stuff. Yeah, just huge piles of stuff. My dad's now convinced it's a guy coming on our property and doing this to us and screwing with us. And he'd been out there trying to shoot whoever this guy was and stuff like that. He's a good gonna do it too, U my mom. That was the year my mom was diagnosed with cancer, So everybody in the family was just on end on edge, and now this guy's coming under the property and just really really screwing with us. So my dad would have killed him if he got a chance, he would have. So that year though, my really expensive chickens started going missing. We could have been missing other chickens before, but we did never know. Oh one little thing I did forgets is why that the bin was getting left open. A lot of grain was missing.

27:33 It was horse grain, which anybody it's had horses nose. It's malasses based, so it's really sweet to the taste, you know, it's basically it's candy. If you're an animal or you don't get to candy, you know, if you don't get to go buy something, it's really sweet. So that was well, a lot of horse grain was missing. I could have been missing chickens that first year, but they were like the egg layers. And you know, we had two hundred minute building. I didn't would have known. It was five of missing. These guys though all had name and you know, we were selling some of their eggs for an egg for sixty seventy dollars because it was a show bird. You know, it was gonna win, it could win. They started going missing. Now the whole fence was electrified. You can't get into it. The only way you could get into it there was a nest box you could open with your hand and flip it open and take a bird out and close it back up. And then the door it could like there was like a normal door you could open and close. Nothing was breaking into it. Somebody was stealing chickens. So we went and got a red healer. Her name was Lucy. She was an absolute monster. I mean, this dog was. We bought her from the Armis. She was trained to protect the farm and she would kill everything we came home. Not farm animals, but any raccoon box, any animal that wasn't supposed to be there after night she would murder. I mean, this dog was a monster. One day we came home and she was covered in blood and we couldn't find a cut on her. It was two coyotes she had killed, so she got them pined and just started ripping at him until they were dead. Like I say, this dog had no fear of nothing.

29:04 So when we did this, all this stuff stopped for like a month. What Luke she got in the habit of doing is she would patrol the tree line and if a raccoon kept running into the woods, she'd stop. She knew that it's gone the threats moved on. The problem we're running into is if they ran up the first tree, because then in her head she can still see it. It hasn't left, so the threats delicious. She'd sit there and she would bark all night until you went down there and you took, you know, something, knock the raccoon out of the tree and it could run away, or she could get it whatever, but once it needed to move off of the property where she could see it. So one thing I didn't mention is that we had four wheeler trails and horse trails cut through the woods. You know, they're just like cookie cutter punches. We'd ride horses. My dad installed stadium lights for working horses. My mom and me showed horses, so horses don't sweat like we do. You know, they can overheat really easy. So we worked him at night so the horses wouldn't get too hot. And it's like for training and stuff like that.

30:08 So one night, Lucy is barking at a raccoon, you so, and she's just going nuts, going nut's going on. So me and Luke that's my brother with musket district feet going and get like a baseball bat and a golf club to go knock this raccoon out of the tree so it could run off in the woods or whatever. We start walking and Lucy's standing in front of one of the holes, which is really really weird because why she's barking there rako you know, could run into the woods, so it was weird. We get like thirty feet away from her and we see it and I say it's Luke stopped. But he'd already stopped. These giant sartruse eyes. We're just looking down at Lucy. You see him blink slow, blink slow, the third blink. They're staring right at us, and I just I remember trying to tell Luke like don't don't run. Don't we We ran, you know, we were back to the house. We were in tears.

31:03 My dad had enough and he's this is the guy, and you know, he gets the gun and he stands right there. Lucy's still barking in the same spot, and he's like, you am after you know, you've scared my kids, You've ruined you know, your mess with our life. Come out of the wood right now. I'm gona start shooting ino the woods. It counts the three, Me and luc are standing outside. Counts the three. Nobody comes out, obviously. So Dad aims into the top of the trees, shoots about ten feet in the woods. It sounds like a bison is just ripping through the woods. Dad falls back, runs up to the house. You know, it takes us inside, and he's just like, I wasn't a guy. Wasn't a guy. Wouldn't a guy? Wasn't a guy? All you would say, Like I said, we didn't really talk about it for years, and like my mom was going through non options on foma, which is a hard one to beat for cancer. Yeah, so you know, like so we we just you know, others life events happened.

31:53 We moved out of the country. We moved into town. You know, we gave up the farm because Mom was the big pusher of the farm. She was sick, you know, obviously. So there's the short version of the Bigfoot encounters. So I seen the outline. I've seen the silhouette, you know, the big head, the big shoulders. That's all I really remember. I didn't see any good facial features. I didn't, you know, the eyes. I was six seventeen at that time. The eyes were just they were about three inches apart. So that's just a huge face. But Sarcer's it wasn't glowing. It was shine from the big light. But you know how like when you're standing behind the light source, you kind of just look like a big shadow. That was the effect we were getting due to the stadium light. So where me and Luke were standing, we were kind of standing in a light and it was in the shadows. So, yeah, there's the short version. I'm sure you've analyzed that a few times as a biologist. Is there anything that lives in that area that could account for what you saw? No, I mean personally I would say no.

32:50 You know, everybody everybody says brings up black bears, No, like I think black bear sightings are a lot of road sidings. Maybe when you're driving really fast, like on the high Way, you see something big and black in the woods real fast, Sure that could be a bear. But when you are thirty feet away from this thing and it's bears don't have shoulders. I've been with grizzly you know. Grizzly bears don't have shoulders. Are huge animals, but you don't have that big football pad looking look to them. So in our part of Ohio, would be the only large mammal that could even get to close that big. It was probably about seven and a half foot tall. Son't one of the monsters you hear about, you know, the nine the ten footers, but he was for a seventeen year old kid that weigh one hundred pounds, it was plenty big enough. Did you ever talk to any neighbors or research the area to see if other people had seen similar things or not? For almost a decade because we started doing the podcast and if anybody listens to our show, check out the Greg interview Big for Society. Who will be right back after these messages. He's my He grew up with my dad. He had an encounter with Bigfoot two miles from where we did the same year, but he never talked about it until we

34:21 started doing the podcast stuff, and he was like, I knew this guy a whole life growing up, you know, I never ever didn't like Bigfoot, didn't talk about Bigfoot. He shared on our show one time we had to start getting he had a drink for a half hour before he could even talk about it because he was He's six foot five, He's just this mount of a man. He talks about how imposing this thing was to him, and yeah, so no. So several farmers and locals did come forward after and that twenty eleven two was a huge spike in our ear. We look up the bfro Go to Hardin County, Ohio, and it's about the only group of sightings. I think some of them have been removed now and I don't you know, I don't have any idea why. But if somebody's researching it, I know that, you know, sometimes they'll pull those just for a time to look into it more. But we had a spike in twenty eleven and then it went back down to nothing. Mine never made it on ever, and I send it in and I don't know if I'm not a great type, if anybody's ever seen anything out right or anything like that.

35:20 It's rough, so there could have been something with that, you know it was, But yeah, mine never made it in and I submitted it, but that's it's their website absolutely, So there's a short bigfoot encounter. But I think it was a juvenile mail that was eating food, so a horse grain. I think he was eating a lot of the horse grain because it's super sweet, like I said, and it's you know, it's very you know, addictive if you don't get those chances. I think he got mad at the dog because he was coming onto the property every night, and that dog then started stopping him from being able to do that under the cover. I think if we wouldn't coming outside, Lucy probably wouldn't have been a dog very much longer kind of deal. All we all in this room have heard the horror stories, but dogs and bigfoot do not get along. I don't think bigfoot mess with people very often as far as the actual danger. It's like the nine to one one call that you hear on most bigfoot podcasts except for mine. So yeah, there you go. Poor dogs. Thank you for sharing that. I could tell you actually were you were going right back to that. It took a long time to get to being able to share it like this and stuff like that. But yeah, I'm sure that your podcast is similar to mine, and that you open up your email and you have people just contacting you every single day. Yeah, that's probably. It can be overwhelming, but it's it's amazing. It's a great like to be the one that gets these reports and then to be able to follow up on them. Have you found that? Okay, when do you get a lot of big foot reports for Ohio? Yeah? Okay, now, are part of Ohio, but where I'm from not here. I'm from northwest Ohio,

36:53 the corn part of the state. Ohio's got four big biospheres. I'm from the flat part, so not a ton we get more locally like people will come up to us and share. But the hawking salt for the east side of Ohio is bigfoot heavy. So I was gonna ask you because what I found from mine is that I'll start it's almost like the meme where you have the guy with the red strings on the wall and you're like connecting him and you start to figure out. Oh okay, there's another one from this area. Have you figured out any potential hotspot areas that you've actually gone and investigated yourself because of your podcast? One time, we only went one time.

37:37 Like I said earlier, I got a bad knee. So going out and doing stuff is really hard to let alone bringing equipment and stuff like that. Now, So we only went one time and it was well, I'll tell you guys, everybody can go. It's a state park, Conco's Hollow, which is in Hockey Hills, which has an extreme amount of bigfoot encounters in that area, and they're very unique bigfoot and counter and we've got tons turned into us. Some we don't share publicly because they ask not to. They more want opinions, you know, and you get the same stuff with that area. The encounters are really scary, and by I mean tree shaking, noises, bluff charges, the throwing pebbles and stuff like that. My opinion about the rock throwing and stuff. If they wanted to hit you with a rock, they would hit you with the rock. If they're not hitting you with a rock, it's for a reason, whether they're either trying to scare you off or get your attention or you know, get you to look away.

38:32 So with that part of hawking, why the encounters, Like people say they get followed all the way back to their cars until they leave. You know, the stuff won't stop until they leave. My opinion is that these animals are extremely migratory, and when I say that, some people get tripped up on that word. They're not migrating due to weather. I can't tell you how many emails we get saying, oh, Bigfoot's not scared of the cold, and never said they were migrating because it was snowing. There's Bigfoot in the last They're doing just fine in Alaska. I think it's more food driven. If they're that large, you know, we're talking about a lot of calories being taken up, and if you don't want to be found, you know, with your presidence noticed, you got to kind of keep moving.

39:13 And I think it's also reproductively driven. I don't think they reproduce every year. I think it's more like us, you know, where a female will reproduce cover several times in their life or whatever. I think they pick these areas that are hyper safe and easily defendable. And the reason that these encounters. I think this area is one of them where they give birth or reproduce in some way. I think these areas are one of them because the encounters are so so scary. Nobody ever gets hurt, as far as we know, nobody ever gets hit with a rock. Nobody, you know, But they're terrifying. They're false charging, You're throwing sticks, they're shaking the branch. That's a big one in that part of hawking is they'll grab these two trees and just shake them. It's to make sure you don't come back. You got too close, to my opinion, to a really small bigfoot, like a real baby, and they're making I'm sure you know that do not come back here. You know, they're keeping their kids safe. And we see that in a lot of primate troops. That's I don't know if Bigfoot is a primate. You know, we all have mixed opinions of what bigfoot is, sure, But as far as behaviors, we look for the animal kingdom between us and the animal kingdom for behaviors and kind of match them up to what we see in sasquatch reports. So that's when I would say Congcose Hollow is a beautiful park. It has a accessibility in one and it has a real hiking trail, so there's both there. If your accessibility is limited, Oh you've got bad knee like me, there's a trail for that.

40:34 If not, they have a really it's this really cool ravine and when you get there you can really get the feeling of why there could be something ten feet off there? What you know you can I could have a man, I'm a thirty feet away from me. You probably never know it. That's awesome. Thank you for sharing that. I know. Ye, well, it's great when people in the community can can share things. I know there's not a lot of sharing, but it's always great when someone can share something like that. Yeah, I mean, go out and enjoy the state parks absolutely, Like a lot of Ohio sightings are car sightings. We have a lot, a lot of a lot of car sidings and it's people driving around at night in the State National Forest and then joining themselves and a big foot runs out right before right after. I don't know why they do that. You know, to me, why won't you wait until the car's down the road a little bit? But they do this absolutely. So we are going to do a hard transition to talk about my favorite Cryptids of the Corn episode, which is the Hyena episode. Has anyone heard the Hyena episode from Kryptis of the Corn? Yeh? Then you're in for a treat. So is it possible to do a elevator pitch for what happened? We'll do really fast, all right, go ahead? Hyena's anybody's seen a hyaena in North America? Just checking, just putting that out there now. So a long time ago, a guy named Sean vannanoos vanda Hoo's however you say his last name? Great listener to the show, good friend of ours now sent me an email saying, Hey, when I was young, I see a hyena.

41:57 Here's where I seen a hyena. He's like, I thought it was somebody. I don't know if it's an episode or whatever, so like whatever, I'll look into it. A lot of hyenas are seen in North America, and by a lot, I mean a lot of hyaenas are seen in North America. So we started looking into it. We had a documentary and there's a second documentary coming out about it. All like we're working on already an extra and there's an extra half hour of the first win that never got released, of encounters and going to these encounters and showing you this stuff. So how could a hyena be in North America? The first thing you think of is zoos and pets, right escaping. It doesn't have to do anything with it, or doesn't have to be related to those events. So in the early nineteen hundreds, you could order any big game animal from a back of a magazine. And I'm talking to lion cubs, grizzly bear cubs.

42:46 You know, you could get big megafauna delivered to your house for twenty five dollars off of the back of a magazine. So some of our research we found in three years in the early nineteen tens, there were about three thousand hyaenas imported the US in a year. Where they all go, you know when you have you buy this hyena cub and you think it's gonna be your dog, and it gets to be one hundred and fifty pounds and it can bite through your leg in one go. They have crazy jawl pressure. Yeah, I'm sure some people shot them. I'm sure half the people are just like, well, go live. Well, how could a hyenas survive? You know, and why don't we see them? So that's great, there's great questions. You guys would do a good job. No, So, hyenas have really cool biology. They're really really huh PG. Oh I'm not gonna talk Okay, Yeah, there's some non PG biology about hyenas if anybody wants to talk to me later, Yeah, thank you. Yeah, No, I won't go into that. No, they're they're really good at adapting the cold and altitude. Hyenas can be found in mountaintops to the deep savannah.

43:49 They are completely fine with below freezing temperatures and even sub zero temperatures for short periods of time. So hyenas, the modern species we have lived all the way into the UK in auction, almost all the way to Siberia, and humans were the big reason their range is restricted to Africa and some of the Middle East. So the species we have now are completely capable of surviving pretty much anywhere in North America. Besides, like they're really northern part of the Yukon. Now, with their behaviors, everybody's seen the hyenas on TV or in person or whatever. They're loud, right, they're voice terous, their pack animals, they kind of get goofy. They have two sets of biological behaviors. So when they're in big groups they're like that, they're loud, they're noisy, they don't care if they're seen or whatever. They completely flip the switch. When it's just one or two hyenas, they become almost identical to big cat behaviors. They get super secretive, they don't make noise, they could become fully nocturnal, they avoid humans completely. So hyenas aren't dogs and they're not cats. They're their own group of animals. They're much more close related things like musclids. So your mink, your weasels, your skunks. I know, they look like a canid, they're not a canad in any part of their biology. So that's why they can switch into this like big cat roll. So, in our opinion, what happened is a bunch of hyaenas got reintroduced North America. Are hyaena that lived here just want to extinct eleven thousand years ago, so there was already a hyena here relatively recently they got reintroduced. People shot at them and they hid, and they

45:20 are in very very limited numbers. They're probably carcass surfacing off of highways. Almost all of our sightings are road sidings where people are driving late at night and they see a hyaena stand up and carrying the deer carcass off the road right because it's food. You know, why would you There's no need for a hyena to hunt in North America if you just follow a road, you know, there's plenty of deer, muskonk or whatever to eat. In the early nineteen hundreds, like in the nineteen twenties and thirties, we had like bulldog bears what they were being called, and booger bears, and these animals that were popping up all over North America that were killing cattle, that were killing deer, and they said they look kind of like a bear, but their heads were really wide like a dog. They called them bulldog bears is the own name we used a lot in the documentary. So a hayena kind of looks like halfway between a bear and a bulldog. And their bite pressure, like they were killing these cows out in Nebraska by just biting their guts and yanking. That's what hyena's due to big mammals is they use their jaw pressure to just put a one kill blow and then they kind of back off, and you know, the animal, you're not gonna survive that. You know you're gonna die eventually. So that's our whole kind of theory with hyenas U And I'm talking after we did the first episode, we got flooded with encounters. We did the documentary, we got flooded with encounters. They are because most people don't report them because you see it and you think, oh, some guy down the road must own a hyena, and it's out.

46:42 You know what a hyena looks like. So that's an actual definition of cryptid is an or out of place animal. Michigans have a problem in one of their force with EMUs that are reproducing right now. EMUs apparently insurvive the weather quite fine. We have them here in Ohio. We have emu farms that survive all year outside. They're good parents, so they establish there's not many things in Michigan that can eat in an adult emu let alone try to steal its babies. So I think the same thing happened with these hyenas, and they're just in the reclusive form. But how many weird sounds we've had, We've bigfoot. People have talked about it a lot where you get almost the laughs, yes, and yeah, what if that is every once in a while you get a hyena nearby, and it could be covergent like habitat where if it's good for a bigfoot, it's good for a hyena kind of deal.

47:30 You know. We see that with species. Both spotted and brown hyenas are seen in North America, so it's really easy to tell them part one's got spots. One doesn't, super easy. But browns have the shaggy the shaggy hair and stuff like that. Browns almost look when you see a spotted heina, browns almost look like sick because they're a lot like they're hunched over more they look you know. But yeah, there's hyenas north America. So if you hear it laughing in the middle of the night in the woods and maybe bigfoot, maybe a hyena big for society would be right back after these messages, have you found a lot of reports coming from certain areas or are they still? It is almost every state we have at least one report from at this point. Yeah, I'm talking. Even Alaska has had a couple hyghena sightings. A Canada. We've gotten a bunch from Canada that it's too hard for us to deal with those right this second, because I've never been to Canada. You know, just these these areas that are popping up.

48:39 There's no rhyme or reason really from the map we've kind of built so far with this phenomena there, it's very rare to see near big metropolitan areas. That's about the only thing. But you know, it's about the same with big Foot. Not saying they don't ever get close to a big metropolitan area, just rare for those things to happen. Are they ever seen in caves or around Yes? Okay, yeah, Kentucky the Mammoth Cave area has a bunch of hanging sightings. Oh dear, But I mean it makes sense those are shelters for animals. I don't know anybody's seen that recent video of the cavers out west crawled super deep into this cave they shouldn't have, and they started hearing that, and he rounds a corner and it's a mountain lion.

49:22 They had cornered this mountain lion. So in the mountain lion's defense, these people had quote unquote chased it all the way down in this deep dark cave and now it's turned around and it's not happy, and they're like and these people are just sitting there laughing about it, like, Oh, I've got a big cat in here with us. It's not good. Yeah, that's not good. Not a smart move. From all the reports you've received, what do you think the closest someone has gotten to one of these hyaenas when they say they've taken stuff out of trucks? Really? Yeah, So everybody's heard the dog band stuff like the I'm just blanket on the Beasta Bay Road where the guy that's cleaning up carcasses had the carcases disappear. That's happened with the hyena phenomena too, where they kind of see him out of the rear view mirror and like leaning up to grab the cader or whatever they have in the back and yank it and run the garbage truck guy. And from the documentary was about one of the closest full body encounters we've had. It was red at dusk, so we don't get a lot of the day encounters, and that wouldn't make sense biologically for the hyenas. You know, we talk about when they're in low numbers, they switched to being fully nocturnal, so people aren't really you know, you don't get to see a big distance at night and stuff like that. So this garbage truck driver said that basically the hyena was stealing garbage and he feels that he was just the hya maybe been running a little bit late that day and so it normally had probably been done by the time he comes around to collect this stuff. But yeah, very close. I mean, people have been me to you, you know, from these things. Do you think this is the scientific community on board with

50:53 this or is this a thing where you kind of get pushed back from all right, So it's a good question. Okay, it's a mixed back, okay, and that's all. That's the science. One thing you'll learn from our show is there's no such thing as the scientifical way of thinking because science in itself, scientists, high level sciences, they're both extremely credible in the same field, can disagree about a subject completely. So when you somebody says, well this is what you know, this is what science says, you can find the exact same article of the opposite opinion from somebody that's just dis credible, so you can. I can't announce it yet, but there is a state official that maybe has proof of a hyena where they're from stop it.

51:38 And they didn't know that there was a phenomenon like this. They thought it was an exotic that got out from somebody's farm. So they're they're trying to figure out, like, well, who locally has a hyena illegally? Do they have video or there's physical proof? Dude? That's awesome. Look out for part two. Oh. Part two is going to be great, even better than part one, which yeah is possible. I mean, we don't know how to film anything, but yeah, so I will say justin Kryptis of the Corns have these amazing documentaries you can watch on YouTube. I highly recommend them. What are some other ones you have besides the hyena? So right now it's just hyena and it's the giant catfish in North America.

52:21 We actually have another one coming out here later this year. Urban Homesteading the Teacher how To. It's kind of we do what we want, right, that's what we do. So I homestead in my town. So we're kind of walking through the process. You don't have to go full bore and do have this, but how to have adical medicine garden, how to raise some quail, how to you know, have berries in your yard and stuff like that. I live in a quarter of an a gurden. I've canned enough food probably this past two years to last a decade out of my little yard and just kind of so that's kind of one. Yeah, we also have this thank you you. I do think this was right in front of my face. Actually, you were going to get a few minutes at the very end, So I would love to transition to this if you can talk about this amazing event you have. So we're putting on Christs of Corn. It's putting on the Ohio Bigfoot Jamboree. It's October fifth and aight, o Ohio at the Northea Lanes Bowling Alley. Check out the facebook page all the informations there. Kind of ded that's the best way. We get to speak at all these amazing events, and we get to go all over the country and do this stuff. And we actually been invited to other countries to speak.

53:23 Really we had turned down with the girls this year and stuff like that, but we've been very blessed and we really want to bring something home to our community. Like this site of Ohio gets all the attention goods it deserves it. But we're all driving, like I tell you what, from our town to like a Hockey Hills bigger festival over here. There's like a car load of people or several cars that have to drive. You drive all the way down for that festivals three hours away, so we're bringing one home. One of the speakers is actually in the audience, Jake Dressel. Hey, all right, Jake, but no I love Jake to death. But it's the bending area is free for the public. Speakers or tickets. I'm already half sold out as of recording this or doing this publicly, So he went, Tickets to space is limited, but it's only fifty bucks a ticket. We're making zero dollars. We're doing this for fun, or make that very clear.

54:13 There's gonna be a lot of science based stuff. A couple of the Bigfoot researchers, like everybody here probably knows b Mills love be to Death. She has a brand new presentation for our events exclusively, so she's debuting at our event. So super I love be to Death. Joel Thomas has done a lot of documentaries. Oh cool. Yeah, Joel's one of the speakers, so he's gonna kind of talk about that of how you go out and do these things while you're trying to do it with the film crew and they have flavor. We're speaking. Oh and John Hickinbottom, the State Naturalist. Love John to death. I have heard John's great best Mustache in Ohio. He's won that several times. But yeah, there's gonna be food fifty to fifty. There's a charity event. I guess said. We were at ronm with Dollahouse for a long period of time, so there's a charity event typically kind of geared towards that one. Like relaxed is the feel listen to our show and you get to know us. We're very much relaxed. Oh so that's the goal. Justin in the last few minutes, Is there anything else that you would like to make sure the audience knows about your podcast? How they can listen to you guys, how they can fall along all that good stuff. So available in every podcast catcher, everywhere you listen to any show you're listening to right now, We're available well. Also crypscorn dot com is our website. You can listen to everything there. We do several other smaller shows that we just kind of do for the fun of it, like Freaky for on a Friday is my pet project, where you get it to learn like fifteen minutes about a freaking nature every week. This week's was the Inland Typean, one of the most vendomus stakes in the world, but it's very docile. It does not want to just don't pick it up. You're not gonna get bit of me. Don't pick it up. But yeah, those

55:45 things you can find all the information. We have the Facebook group. All we do Cribson Coffee every Tuesday morning, nine am. It's Eastern Standard time. It's an hour of just kind of hanging out on Facebook Live and Instagram Live and on YouTube live. Just hanging out for an hour, just talking about what happened this week and just relaxing kind of thing. I think that's pretty much it. Jay's normally the promoter. I'm so bad at this. You guys make a good duo. So if you're into big for society, I would really recommend that you start listening to justin Cryptis of the Corn. You will love it. And to everyone who's here, watching live. Thank you so much. I appreciate you all listening. Literally, I could not do what I do without the support of you all listening. And there's a few Patreon members here as well. I appreciate you guys more than you know.

56:31 And if you haven't listened to either Cryptois of the Corn or Big for Society, please give it a try. Try start with the Hyena episode. That's a great one, yeah, and it took a life of its own kind of deal. Absolutely, And if you want to start with one of mine, listen to the last year's live episode with Martin Groves is a really fun one to listen to. You, but have a good one with all of them. And I just want to say thank you guys for being here. Alex Petticoff and we are live at Monsterfest in Canton, Ohio, So I just wanted to catch up with Alex. What have you been up to?

57:14 Man? What haven't I been on to? Is the question. I've been doing my series Strange Places, as well as plenty of Bigfoot Beyond the Trail, kind of like balancing fifty to fifty now between Bigfoot stuff and then Strange Places, doing a lot of stuff. UFOs weird locations doing some stuff on this crazy radar base abandoned radar base in Vermont that's connected to the Betting and Parney Hill abduction. So that's a fun one. Brown Mountain Lights stuff with Hellbent holler. Gosh. We got a lot of crazy stuff coming up, a lot of cool Pacific Northwest Bigfoot stuff too. That's a little bit of a teaser. I was gonna fish for a teaser. So there is potentially Bigfoot stuff coming plenty of it. Yeah, there's gonna be some direct follow ups to previous Beyond the Trail episodes in the Pacific Northwest, so keep out for that. And there's gonna be other cool stuff strange places out there as well. Yeah, we're just keeping busy. You know. We're doing a lot of stuff at STM. We've always got many you know, coals in the fire kind of thing. So we've also got some incredible documentaries coming up. But I can't unfortunately disclose any details, but maybe oh more to come. I love it. Thank you Alex for spending a few minutes with us, and I hope the rest of the day goes well for sure.

58:24 All Right, we got Aaron D's here at monster Fest two. How's it going, Aaron? It is going great, Jeremiah, it is so good to see it. And what is the thing that you are looking forward to about today the most? I am just most excited to see everybody come together to see the community just you know, gather over a shared passion. People come from all over the place for this, all over the country, so it's very exciting to see that and just be a part of that energy. Absolutely, so good to see again. Thanks for chatting, Aaron. Thank you. So guys. It's Matt Arner. We've talked to him. He is the gentleman that we talked to about bigfoot in the Pocono's and other areas, and he's from the Sasquatch Experience podcast. Correct. Yeah, how's it going, man, It's going great. It absolutely is fantastic, and I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be here with you too. Absolutely, you got any cool updates about bigfoot stuff out in Pennsylvania? Well, right now, our area is kind of off limits. And the reason why I'm saying it's off limits is nature doesn't necessarily want us to be there.

59:31 It's rattlesnake season and just the terrain is is just extremely rough for walking and it's a little hot out there, so we're letting nature, you know, basically, you know, keep its area nice and quiet, and then hopefully soon I'll be able to go up and record some evidence from our from our wildlife recorders and trail cams. That's awesome. We'll definitely keep in touch if you're able to get any cool evidence, and it's always fun chatting with you, dude. I will always let you know because we're always big fans of the show. Thanks Matt. All right, we got Jeff from Strangeology here.

1:00:17 He is frantically trying to set up his booth in the last minutes before the VIP come. How's it going, Jeff? You know it's going well this morning. We're just kind of trying to put everything together and have a nice display for all the VIPs and the general attendance all throughout the day from Uscrofest. What do you think the hot item is going to be at the Strangeology booth this year? Oh well, I've got these brand new shirts called the Fordian Social Club shirts. First time at an event. I think people are gonna love them. Dude, I love it. How can people get that if they're not here, well, I've got an Etsy shop Strangeology dot Etsy dot com where you can grab that shirt, as well as dozens of other designs for cryptids, aliens and all out Fortyana. This thing is so great. All right? We got Jeff Craig from The Map in Black here at Monsterfest too. How's it going, man? Doing well? Excited for a big event this year. I was here last year and it's looking like it's shaping up to be even bigger this year. I'm telling you people at van Meter they're always like, is that Map guy back? So dude, people love your stuff. What do you think the top thing this year at Monsterfest is going to be for you? The top thing for me is I just always see in the community, whether it's the people that attend or my fellow vendors and Jeremiah, who I met at Van Meter year and a half ago. I wish I could have come back last year. I love Van

1:01:47 Meter, I love Iowa. And that sounds really weird, sound like a political candidate. Well, if you are political candidate, you should come to Iowa. I always fund a chat. I'm glad that you're here this year, but thanks for chatting Jeff Big for Society. Will be right back after these messages. All right. We got Jonathan Dodd here, Artists, illustrator, designer extraordinaire. Always great to see him. I'm actually wearing a shirt that says I collect Bigfoot stories that he designed, so I'm a huge fan.

1:02:35 I mean, you even did the logo. So great to see you, Jonathan again. Good to see you too. Thanks for coming out and documenting the show. I'm really stoked for this. Absolutely. Do you have a big new thing for monster fests this year? Yes, I have a few new prints out right now. I have the Remember Only you can Prevent Toxic Swamps. It's a Smoky the Bear version of the off Man. And I have a new big footprint it's called Bigfoot Origins and it has a Gigantopithecus skull it's got uh woo woo ufo on there, and then a DNA strand Jonathan, thanks for thanks for being here. We always appreciate seeing Yeah, thank you have a good one. Thanks dude, Neil Dude, Hey, we got a special individual here. We got Ken gearhard cryptos zoologists. How's it going today, Ken? It's going great, brother, So good to be here. Absolutely, it was fun riding from the airport to uh Canton with you yesterday. But what's what kind of cool stuff you got at your table today? Well, I have a selection of all my books, all six and a couple of DVDs, stickers and photos, the usual fair for this type of event. Got any cool projects that you've got you're working on or some maybe secret stuff? Well I do have a secret project. Little teaser is something that'll hopefully develop later this year that I'm excited about, potential

1:04:05 expedition in a I think a very promising area. Other than that, I've been teaching online cryptozoology courses, so that's something that people are interested in they can reach out to me. We cover a wide range of cryptids. It's a six class course, comes with a certificate, and so far I've had three sessions and all the students have been very excited about it. I know my buddy Scott has been loving that. But what's the best way people can reach out to you for that? Well, of course they can find me on my website kengarhard dot com. When I'm also on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, x and all those other platforms. All right, thank you, Ken, I'm not rushing your honors. No, No, it's going to be quick. Yeh. We got Eli Watson here, director extraordinary from Small Town Monsters. How's it going dude? It's good man. I'm glad to be here. Dude. I was so excited to see Ogo Pogo I got a it was great. How did you feel about the premiere last night?

1:05:02 I think it went well. I'm just happy that people actually like it. How can people watch this movie? Well, now you can get a copy on Blu ray and DVD, I believe. But it'll be out later this month AND's a lie for Amazon Prime, I believe. So awesome, Eli, always a pleasure to chat with you. Thanks, thank you, dud. Yeah, hey guys, we got Lyle Blackburn here. Lyle's a cryptozoologist. He's been on the podcast before. How's it going, Lyle? It's going great, dude. It's always good to see you at festivals like this. But what do you got going on right now? Any cool new stuff coming up? Man? Well, I've been working on a new book as I have time. It's about the infamous Lakecourse Monster, which is a legendary creature phenomenon that occurred in Texas. In nineteen sixty nine, only about thirty minutes from where I live. So it's one of those sort of my hometown monsters, and it really needs a book. People keep asking me about it, and it's kind of a legendary bigfoot meets goat man type thing. I love that. My audience will be happy to hear that. That comes up every once in a while from my listeners, so it'd be exciting to see that come out. But thanks so much for chatting for a bit lyle you bet. Thanks man. Hey, we got Mark Munsey from the Erie Travels podcast here. How's it going? Mark? Oh good? Doing well?

1:06:30 Greetings travelers, thanks for coming here to the Small Town Monster Fest two in Canton, Ohio. Absolutely what kind of stuff you got at your booth today, Mark, Well, we've got the books. We've done the I did three of the Erie Florida book series, Erie Florida, Freaky Florida, and Creaky Florida, and then I ran out of adjectives, so I did Erie Appalachia, and then the sequel to that, Erie Smoky Mountains is coming a little bit later this year's. And then my wife, the illustrator, she's the real talent. She also illustrated a Natural Ohio for History Press, and so we've got that here too. Then we've got her art and then some of her crochet as well, because she is she's the talent. I just do words absolutely so Smoky Mountains, that's gonna be awesome. Can you give any sneak peak about that? Yeah, well we start. It's basically a round trip, so you start in Chattanooga and then head into Severeville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge. But we've got every little holler, monster, unusual place that you can stay. It's basically a seven day road trip around the mountains and filled with dark history, ghosts, monsters, spearfinger Cherokee legends, and all kinds of fun stuff. So that is going to go so well, Oh my goodness, I'm excited to get a copy of that. But thanks for thanks for stopping by, Mark, Yeah, thank you. All right, we got the Paul Bartholomew here from Whitehall, New York area, right right, Yep. Paul is a person I haven't been able to chat with

1:08:02 yet, but we're going to set that up for the future. He's got such a wealth and knowledge about Bigfoot in the Whitehall area of New York. But what are some cool things you got at your booths today, Paul, Right, Well, we've got when I went to school. I went to school at castle In College and the professor there was doctor Warren Cook, and he went to China in nineteen eighty five, so we've got some artifacts that he brought back from China. Here, we've got one of the castings of the Chayrin or the wild Man from over there, and he went there in eighty five. And here's some of the Bhutan stamps, the original Bhutan stamps, and there's a cha Rin science magazine as well from nineteen eighty five, so we've got sort of that representation. We've also got a bunch of things from the White Hall area, like the abear Road sketches of the creature that was spotted there in nineteen seventy six, which involved several law enforcement agencies.

1:08:59 And we've got spark sighting, which was a year before that, in nineteen seventy five in May, and he saw this conical shaped heag creature that moved sloth like and had red glowing eyes, which is his account is very important because of that description. He was actually looking at the eyes as they were focused on his dog and not as him, and so he was able to describe this strange effect. And most recently we have the Bigfoot Sanctuary sign that has been put into Whitehall, and that is to show respect for the stone giants and wild men of the mountain reports and right up to present day.

1:09:41 So we've got serving a Smorgesborg of various things regarding the Northeast Bigfoot phenomena. That's awesome. Thank you for chatting a little bit about that, Paul today. I really appreciate it, and we will be in touch in the future. I think absolutely. Hey, we got Amy Boo here from Amy's bucket list expeditions. How's it going, Amy, It's going great. I'm up and at him, getting ready for everybody to get here, excited to meet people and hear stories. And I'm doing a little demo later about how to cast some tracks. I'm excited for that. Except is it during I think it might be during the I hope it's not during my live podcast. If it's it might be, I don't remember the podcast, but I know it's during Shay's talk and I wish I could hear Shae talker. I might have to skip out on my own podcasts, skip on each other's things. There you go. What kind of cool stuff do you have at your table today, Amy, Well, I have a quilt that my mom made. She made one last year too, so we're raffling that off. And I just have a little bit of do dads here. Nothing, nothing really uh spectacular.

1:10:54 I am here mostly to get stories from people so they can come look at the things that I have set up. But what I really want to know is who's seemed Bigfoot? Yeah? Me too. And we had a great time. We had a group together chatting at supper last night, and you introduced me to some awesome people. So thank you for that and just a pleasure seeing you today. We'll be chatting in August, I believe, so, yep, in August. I can't wait. It was fun, all right, Thanks Amy? All right, we got Martin Grove here and we are back at Monsterfest. Martin, how are you doing today, sir? I'm doing fantastic. You know, I'm doing a lot better now that I got to run across you and see you again. My brother. Absolutely, it was a treat to see it show up last night. I was like, oh my goodness, I didn't know Martin was going to be here and we had such a fun time chatting last year for my live podcast here.

1:11:46 But would you be able to give a little update about what's been going on for you maybe down to LBL or certainly Man. There has been so many fantastic things that have come out in the last six months to a year, and it's it's hard to like to describe everything and put everything together. But we've been going in UH very strong since since the fall of last year. Ron Moorehead, Darryl Denton and Barton Nunley and myself have been camping all up and down the south and the north entrance of the O b L and UH we've had encounters, We've we've got recordings of what we feel like is definitely the Beast of LBL. The recording has been sent to scientists and it's not a human voice, and it is no animal that has been recorded.

1:12:38 It's not even close to a wolf or couti or fox or anything. It's not it's not canaan. They they're having a hard time to determine what type of animal that it is. UH. Within the last month, Barton Nunley, h and myself along with some other team members, encountered a portal that opened up on the northern entrance and it is not It's totally unlike anything I've ever seen. And this was in an extreme remote region of the land between the lakes, about twenty five miles deep, within no roads. There's no way that someone could have been out in the woods generating what we saw.

1:13:21 And he has it on camera and has kept that and he has posted the video and audio of this thing. Jeremiah, it blows me away. It takes a lot to really blow me away. Another thing that's going to come out in my new book, The Devil's Backbone, that I believe is going to really be an eye opener. I am going to open up and discuss mind speaking, one of the greatest things that has come out since twenty sixteen. A Methodist preacher got me to investigate a cemetery in the area of the we'll call it Bethlehem Road area. And there was a large hairy beast was the description the priest gave me. And I've been in there since twenty sixteen recording and investigating the people that go to this cemetery to visit their loved ones and place flowers out and they're been harassed by bigfoot really and they're having objects thrown at them and they're having just a lot of issues. So we recently took in a camera crew that we I'm under a non disclosure that I can't speak of, but we have a very good video of camera crew that went

1:14:53 into this very area and they had contact. The cameraman was pretty well freaked out and it was a it was a hair raising experience for him. So is that something you think the public might be able to see someday or is it up to someone else if that footage has ever released. This video will come out in November of this year, and it will They have released just a small segment of it. This is Greg Ogle's work and Greg has got a tremendous video that he has made and Adam Davies was a part of that. And yes, the public will get to see this sooner or later.

1:15:35 I'm excited to hear that. And I didn't know you had a new book coming out. Is there any timeframe on that. We're hoping that July it will hit the shelves in July. Aaron had released a book that we have such love for and I wanted to wait for a while until I released my book. And it is. It just carries on from where Aaron has left off, and it will discuss a lot about mine speak it will, we will. We're going to tie in a lot of historical facts, such as what we discussed earlier with the Mormon encounter with the banished Cane. But there is so much. We have discovered two cemetery graves that a historian has led me into where there were two brothers and these two brothers stood almost nine feet tall. They lived on the peninsula and they said they were like Harry.

1:16:35 And there's a local historian out of Dover that has led us into this area, and we have measured the graves. Of course, we do not tamper with the graves. We're very respectful. But I find it amazing that we have nine foot tall brothers within this area. Of all this that's taken place in the eighteen and nineteen hundreds, that is incredible. So you mentioned mind speed is going to be a part of the new book. Is that something you've experienced yourself, Yes, it is. It's something that I've kept very quiet about. There's a lot of I don't bring out my research until years and years later and until I know what I have and what I have discovered.

1:17:16 And I had worked a lot with Scott Carpenter, and Scott had taught me not to be ashamed of being mind spoke is the term because a lot of people have had to deal with these creatures speaking to them telepathically. And so I've had something going on since twenty sixteen, actually since nineteen ninety three when I had my first encounter, but from twenty sixteen until current date in this area of Bethlehem Cemetery, I have had a lot of dealings with mine speak. It's something that I've started to look into myself, and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I think that there is definitely something there that's something I'm working through, you know, as I do now.

1:18:05 I don't do a lot of research, but I do do some research, and it is it is really interesting to think about. So have we talked about you doing work with Scott Carpenter before or is that something that you've just started to talk about. No, I've kept this to my So this was between Scott and I and a lot of data that we have shared together concerning uh DNA samples and things of that nature. But he was one that he gave me a lot of encouragement. He had suffered from mine speak as well, and from attacks where he was in the Smoky mountains and where these these creatures are beasts that I call them, would attack or or cause great discomfort when you have contact with him, and he was fully aware of it, and he had been victim to it as well. Well. What was that's great about Scott? I mean, he was a great phenomenal man to begin with, but he was such an encouraging soul, and he taught me one thing not to be ashamed of it. I didn't speak of it and I didn't promote it. But I'm more willing to come out now because I have discovered so much data from this mind speak. And the other part that I have to say is Ron Morehead. Ron Morehead has taught me so much in the last few years, and I've been an avid student, and you know,

1:19:38 we go camping together and he just has so much wisdom. But when you consider quantum, Bigfoot and the different aspects, well the paradox of anything to deal with Bigfoot or other creatures, you know, we're only slowly becoming to understand the dimensions and the different aspects of foot in where these things can travel or where they may even come from. And mine speak is part of that. Absolutely, there's an individual that's actually been able to carry on Scott's work. His name is Harley Owens, and he has access to all of Scott's areas. And I don't know, is that an individual that you've been able to talk to it all? Yes, very much. Harley is a good guy and definitely is a man. He is going to go from from Scott's work and take it to a higher plane and learn so much. If you consider this, you have Scott Carpenter and those like Scott. I won't throw my name in the hat, but folks like us that have been investigating for years, Harley is so much younger, and just think about what he can achieve in ten or twenty years and how much farther he will advance than Scott or myself or Ron moorehead and people that's been into it for a long time. Harley's a great guy. Yes, I would agree, and I'm very thankful for your time today, Martin. I do have one more question.

1:21:03 Has there anything recently that has happened in the LBL. Any strange attacks or disappearances that you've been made aware of. The last appearance disappearance that I'm aware of, this did not occur within the LBL, but it is something that I take heart with and I investigate a lot of happenings within the Smoky Mountains. The last known disappearance that I'm aware of was in twenty twenty when a husband and wife disappeared. And you won't find any records anywhere about these people that have disappeared. But in twenty twenty, a husband and wife parked their vehicle at the edge of the Devil's Backbone Trail and like three to five days later, their family reported them gone. They found their vehicle, they found a backpack and I believe a lady's flop, and that was it.

1:22:01 They've not been found. But you will not find any written paper or any report from this. We did find one article at one point where there had been a search for a couple and it ended right there. That was nothing else ever put out to the public. Goh, that is a heartbreaking story. And I hope that someday maybe there'll be closure that comes to the people involved with that. But Martin, thank you for spending a few minutes with me today. It's great to catch up with you and we'll definitely be watching to see when the new book on the Devil's Backbone comes out. But thank you again, Martin, Thank you Jeremiah. It's always a great, great day when I get to see you and speak with you. Thank you.
