In this episode, I talked to Ronald Ronnie Roseman from Oregon about some of the most incredible encounters I've experienced so far on big Foot Society. What did Ronnie experience in that remote Oregon meadow?

He's from the Pacific Northwest, he's got years of bigfoot experience. And how are you doing tonight, Ronnie? I'm doing fine. Yeah, A long time since men ready. Yeah, it's like the new version of radio in a way. It's it's a lot of fun. Let's start at the beginning, Ronnie, So tell me what was it that first got you into big footing years ago. I don't know. I've always think weird. I as a kid, I just was always attracted to mysteries and explained things and phenomena's and stuff. At a very early age, name is fourth fifth grade, I got a book called Stranger Than Fiction I Frank Edwards, I believe it was. I read that and had something in there, the Obama of Snowman. I got interested in that. I think it was eight and then I was telling and aunt I had. I lived in southern California at the time. I had a aunt that lived in Eureka, which was eight hundred miles away California, and she knew about me being an interest in Bomo Snowman. So it was during

2:19 the time that the road construction known in California Bluff Creek area was going by Ray Wallace there, and she saved all the clippings for me on the big Foot because that's when the big Foot best word of the name of Bigfoot originated the Bluff Creek area during the nineteen fifty eight I think it was or fifty nine. Okay, yeah, So Jerry Cooney was seeing the tracks around as all those they went to the newspaper and Humboldt or whatever it was there Eureka. But and then the picture was on. Anyway, she saved all the newspaper clippings for me, and I did so when she came down for a Christmas she I got that as a Christmas president. So I got interested in Bigfoot at that time. And I think I was nine years old, So that was my beginning. You were around nine to ten in the late fifties.

3:17 What I'm hearing there? Yes, okay, wow, So you were at an interesting age when the Patterson Gimlin film was released. Do you remember that? Oh yeah, definitely fifty seven. I think I was about not seventeen years old. See how old was I at that time? Sixty I was sixty seven, right, it was sixty seven. You would have been sixteen or seventeen years old. Yea, Yeah, that's when I got I really got I really got motivated. I guess a lot of people did. Then. You could look at it, even at that age, and I didn't know anything, and I still don't know anything about these things. But at that looking at that, I'm moved and stuff, and just the way it moved you. You could tell it looked like something always there even though your family is looking at you weird. But yeah, that's when I really got motivated. But that's when I ordered to tranquilize your gun and I paid five hundred bucks for a gun in the mail. They had these big dreams about shooting one of these things, and they were end after seeing that picture some day, I'm going to get out there, and thought about doing something like that. And of course I had a problem with tranquilizer or a drug or something. What would you huge would you want something for apes or And I never did think that these things were apes myself, even though a lot

4:48 of friends have thought that John Green, doctor Currens and great people that I just didn't see that with a human like footprints and stuff, which is the most obvious the first thing. So I decided to go with somewhere a cernal one. And then I went around to pharmacists and stuff. I didn't know where to go and try to get something like that, and I was asking him around to get it, and most of the pharmacist that they said, no, well we can't get you there. We can't do that, or we don't can't get that or whatever. As one as pharmacies said yeah, he says, that's for tranquilizing people or whatever. He said, Yeah, maybe I can help y out and give me your infigration. I didn't do that. I get scared or left, and I realized that My gosh, I probably I didn't want to tell him. I wanted to. Oh.

5:40 I think I did tell him. I think I told him what you wanted for said something about I wanted to tranquilize Bigfoot, and I think that give me a word. Look, I left. I dropped that project, that idea, which I found out later wouldn't work anyway. But anyway, so trial and error from the beginning. That is amazing. So was this in southern California that this all took place then? Yes? Yeah, okay, Wow, what a story. That's amazing, man, Thank you made it. Might sound kind of dumb, No, it's awesome. These are the kind of stories that my listeners absolutely love. Did you first see the film then in a I know it was shown in movie theaters a lot. Did you see it in a movie theater then? No, I didn't you know something I don't remember. I think it was on TV during that time period.

6:34 So you were getting into your you're almost twenty in that time period right after the PG film. Did you seriously go out and start looking at that time besides trying to get THEO No, I did not at all that time. At a much later date, I'd read a little bit about these things if I and I'm kind of easy anyway, and I'm certainly not at really an out doors or anything like hunter or anything. I did a lot of hiking, but it wasn't looking for monsters. But I got to thinking about it and what I did find out about it. Peter Byrne, he's the first guy I contacted, sometime in the mid seventies or something. But I realized A bought titless. You never seen one that I know anyway. Peter Byrne didn't, John Green didn't, and Doctor Grants didn't. And I thought, my god, you could pick it out to get a chance to even get this glimpse of these one of these things at a distance, much less close up. You could search all your life, and I just thought it wasn't feasible to go out for what a time that was involved in everything else, and not that they're not out there. But I was learning a little bit by the time I was in my twenties. I opted to collect snakes and stuff, and they did it for many years when all the kind of stays down the average gave different places. I always had these things on my mind, but I figured I'm collecting snakes to run across one of them,

8:09 that will be a plus, but not likely. But and so I didn't get into it till my real what I could call an expedition was after I had gone in Queen the Lady. It was in the nineties and late nineties, and I by that time I was I knew Richard Greenwell of the International Society of crypto Zoology. I don't know if you're familiar with him. I have heard of the society, okay. He was the secretariat, and doctor Rackel Roy Mathel was the vice president, and Bernard Hulans was a president.

8:50 And that was a day I established arretant at that the Smithsonian. They were legit guys, and so me and Richard we did a lot of build research started, but they didn't start till ninety eight. In ninety nine I went with him on It was the second expedition there that he had in the sixty years, and the first expedition that he has done was with him doctor milderm On Felibano, the name of Mark Slack, he was the guy, and the then Darwin which Church his son. He didn't in two years. That was in nineteen ninety seven, and I think it's saying the doctor Mildron's book, he's got it in there, which was interesting. I didn't. Of course, this was long before his book come out. But he tells what happened there when he was on the team back in there, and that they was campting a medal where these things came in there at night and they were running in between their tents and stuff. They had stole their oat meal and they had it done in the bag and these things took it out. They didn't make a mess like a barrywood. And they heard him running back and forth. Doctor Meldrum was sitting in his tent and he said one of them actually hit the guide wire or something on and dirt dirt as kent running through there. But anyway, the next morning they checked it out and the tracks were there. It was biped in the grass. Nothing a good cast,

10:22 but the indentations that where they had been there come in. During the ninth Richard was using the tall blast and stuff. So anyway, that was ninety seven. Then Richard asked me if I wanted to go on the natural in which was nineteen ninety nine, and we went in June or June and July, i think it was. But there's only a window frame to get in there. It's just snow and stuff most of the year. It's only a couple of months that are really safe to get back in there. It's about forty miles back in from Orleans and the canyon it was to the trip. We had the horses, five hundred pounds of equipment and food supplies and thermal imaguting and everything else. So we got back there and there were some results and we called blasting in the canyons in the evening but what's reportedly big foot screens and stuff like that. We had babies and how our monkey sounds and baby sounds, humans and stuff, and we split up. There was the main camp base camp was Richard and his son, and then me and Angelo Caperella. He was a biologist from our University of Chicago. We camped out about a mile away from there our camp us, and Angelo he could handle

11:54 my snoring, so he went one hundred feet down the mountains somewhat and I was by my up there and something was coming around. And I'm going to say this because it's important, has something to do with something to happen in my area recently. Now, this was nineteen ninety nine and fist US northern California, and this was going on and after the call blasting one evening, I stepped out of the tent to relieve myself and I heard something snap, trick, snap, and right on the other side of it was a big canyon. But anyway, I heard it and that's all I heard. But we had already we had to shoot a bear. I think it was just four or five days before. There was stocking us and Nashal was going to charge you with didn't have any choice. So I was thinking there and I got back in my tent. I knew something was I felt that something big was there, and I had a pistol and may and I felt somewhat comfortable with that. Anyway, went through the night, nothing happened. The next night, that same five and nine, about one o'clock in the morning, I stepped out. I heard the twig snap the same area. Of course, it's fish black to get back in the chin. I told I'd go, we'd pipe back to the base camp and have breakfast in the morning.

13:26 I told Richard, who's the team leader, and if he had all the equipment and nine equipment thermal every year and night the equipment in ford. But I said, we are you guys are to set this stuff around my can. I think some's coming around there, And at this point I wasn't thinking Bigfoot, I was thinking there, but he said, yeah, maybe we should do that. They talked to really didn't want to do it right, and they wanted the equipment where they were. So the third names I got out the same time Good Trick, Snap, and I got back in the tent, and I had the court done recoun all around it before I set my tent up there, and I wanted as secure as possible, so I had set it up next to Undergirl, some shrubbered thick rush and stuff on one side of it, and then right behind it there was a log.

14:24 There was a boat, and not a log but a limb, but it was bowed up just like a guard for a car if you run a park right in front of which just bowed up just perfectly went across the level and then came back down. And I had stood on that before I set my tent up there, and I jumped on it. I was one hundred and sixty hundred pounds and I didn't budge it, so it was solid. So I had that behind me and that's where my head was where a slip. So this third night one hundred, I see right from that area there was an animal trouble went all the way back and I came back around behind my chin, so I think whatever it was there it did that. But sometime during the night and I heard that that branch or the big tree part just like it was going down making a noise, and I couldn't budget jumping on it. So something heavy was pushed on its right behind my head and then it went and it went but started. I could tell it was going back up, so something didn't want to make any noise. And then right on the side of me and the right hand fled the chin right after that, who this excuse me, don't jump? But I got a find of give you an idea. I heard only ten times worth ten times a louder, so that of course it maybe that was that was unnerving, and I didn't know what to think of that, and I thought something was going to come

15:56 through my chints. So I sit there Indians style all night with my pistol on one hand and Mason the other. Nothing happened, and it was years later. There's a lot more on that expedition, but I want to make a point because at least something happened there that got me in trouble many years later, like within the last couple of years. Here, I'm in Oregon right now, a central Oregan surrounded by mountains and was and that sounds. There was a few years after that with a friend of mine. I was over to his house, Retman neil As Junior. I don't know if you ever heard of him, big footologie had he established, but anyway, he I was over in his house and I had never heard the run more Head tape. I didn't last year of sounds. And I came off with that sound and I was telling him the same story that was years ago, and he says I. He looked at me and says, I don't think you because I was still thinking there, I don't know anything about bears not going Maybe I don't know sounded hawful, you know, scary for a bear to come up like our ruth. But he says, I don't miss my friends, says, I don't think he's seen a bear. And he played me a bit more headstapes y sound. It's about the third one in that with the aggressive sound, and it is almost an exact and I think only heck maybe yeah, I think one of those things was standing by my chitch.

17:29 I don't think he liked me being there. It was aggressive for sure. So many years later, coming up to now, he was introduced an area by a hunter and well to somebody else that knew I was interesting, big food. But anyway, I got it in this area and right off the badly started adding things happening, and my gosh, that's probably our to our talk right there and all less. So I'm just going to keep to the point here for now. That sounds I after being annoying these things over here, we had to come in and different areas and whistled from both sides, communicate or whatever. Camping everything was fine. And this friend of mine is named Day. He's a ruggular old hunter. I don't think he's afraid that much. He's been charged by grizzly Bear's twice and I had been bothering and he knew of these things are up here that people didn't believe him. And anyway, I was introduced soon and I wanted to go up onting. Nobody had ever went up on. I did, and we had some acsion he was going on. Everything was fine, and then one evening when we're there, we're camping in this metal area. It's a good, pretty high elevation.

18:48 It's back in a ways, and I was sitting in my chair, sitting on a beer, and him and his dad, we had grandfather there too, and they were they went to laid down the tent. It was getting and I was sitting outside of the tent and the chair, and I asked him what kind of sounds because he's been up there, camping there and honey, mostly by himself for over forty years, anoying those things over there, and over forty years he only got to see one once and it was about from about three hundred feet and only one time with him being there all the time, was so garsy an idea, But I asked him, I said, what kind of sound you heard over the years? Order mean he come out, was unting out of her. So I said, I'm going to share a sound idea that iired one time. So I came off with the one I just must trying to come out with you. And if you hear that, Ron Moore had stayed here, sounds order about the third one, is it? But so I did that and pretty loud, and I was just sitting there dream her. And that's fifteen minutes later, twenty minutes or whatever. We heard these things coming from a distance along distance, just falling and raising hill and screamed. Something was very agitated, and there was more than one, and they were coming our way. But the way I

20:18 knew exactly what it was coming. And I said, who, I said, any of those sounds, because these things A couple of them are coming up like crazy agitated jim pansies. And another one was coming off sounding like a mad owl, and another one was coming off like a coyote, and another one like a raven, and all of them were going at the same time, and they're hited our way and they're getting louder, and so I said, I asked him they were still in the tin. I said, do you ever hear anything like that? Easy out? No, not quite like that, and I said, yeah, we knew what they were. And I said, I think this is a premier of the tone of coming at trash and I got jump got in the tent pretty quick with them.

21:04 There were just enough room with the three of us, and they're coming. They're getting louder. By the time they got to where we're at, it was it was totally dark, and they came that We could hear him coming in and circling, and the back of the mental coming around just within the tree wine and they came directly behind our tents and just for an hour and a half they just they charrorizers. We actually didn't think we were been there too the night. It was so bad. There's no way to explain how intince it really was. Of two of them coming off like chimpanzees and crazy champans in the other animals sounds, and you could tell they were running back and forth, and one of them was charging pump sumpump pumped right up heavy and just running it right up to the chintz and then it run back and I did that every once in a while. They did it for about an hour and a half, and every time the one that it was charging yeah, do your grace for impact, because it felt like it was gonna you learn, he was going to come and take the chance, and you would it and just go right on through. That's what I felt like. It was up on a dime, right that they had just silent like right there at the champ before it came through. Then run back and yeah, that was pretty terrifying night. And I was that I could document that would be something but a chance. But anyway, they ended up going around the other

22:34 site and did a complete circle actually, and I went back around and went back out the same way, and you're gonna hear him keep going until they started fading out. While they were fading out and fade ountil you couldn't hear anymore. And that I was a while they So anyway, the A scared with Jesus out of this. And what's interesting that one of the things that is, as the day before I had we were doing our recon around there and we've seen a track of one, but it was a smaller track. It was probably about twelve inches maybe a little less. Are they would just see the impression what it was and it was going a certain way and there was a tree right there too. It looked like it and a little pathway like. And that's when we were I said, let's get some food and put up in a tree. I hadn't tried to put food up, and I said, oh gosh, I had that perfect tree that shit brewed up and stuff. So that we went to town and we've got bananas and we them out and put them on the tree. Next morning we went out and checked and those tracks were coming from the tree, and the bananas were gone, and there were snow scratch underneath the tree or anything something. I had taken the bananas. So that's why we set up our camp right there.

24:00 I think, get set our camp up here. So we did so that evening that happened, and of course they were anxious to get out of their grandpa. He never said or sitting. None of us were early talking, not until it was over what they were leaving. And the lesson of the stories are funny. One on them skip up for now. But next morning everybody was in ours. Soon as it got daybreak, we were ready to go. They were standing there for a little bit talking and I because I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on. We'd been going in there, and we know they were coming around, and we hadn't enemy of problems and they just went holistic crazy this night. And I'll tell him dwying, I said, my god, I wonder what happened. I wanted to do then. I think because I was telling them that the younger one took them down, as it looked like from the tracks he might have taken back to the old man, and the old man, Mindy got pissed off at us forgiving us kids from food. I'm trying to I'm just trying to figure it out. And then he says, no, this guy is a season hunter. And he said all over a vision game hunter. He said no, he said, they were here for you. I feel the shivers.

25:18 The shows go right downline neck. I said, fear for me. Why but he says, last night, he said, when you come up with this sound, he says, one twenty minutes they were headed here. He says, they came here for you. Oh shit. But I anyway, we left, and I did go back and I took him home, and I went back only because I had a print as a big fun hunter happened to be in the house. The house there dined them all. I don't know if you're ar anything, but he was at my house. He came from Montana, just happened to be here when I came here that day after the camp out there. And he's a big time again. He's eighty years old, he's still going out and he's quite a fellow. But I told him I shudn't go up there. No, I didn't want to go back.

26:07 I was still freaking nervous. I took him back up there and we walked around on him, and I found a scene where they came in. It was like they just leveled the brush and everything. There wasn't anything. A big path where it must have been four feet wide where they came in and went through around, but it was too hard to see. He really distinguished old tracks, but it was all missed up. Scratch or either tell them where the footprints were back and forth, nothing to cast. It was hard ground. But on the other side where they went out, I found two trash and the softer areas, And the first one I've seen was I measured it by getting this breaking a stick up. I didn't have any paper or measuring stuff. I broke a stick off and measured it. Later, but this one track was fifteen in and close to nine inches. It was a teen inches long, close to nine inches like at the ball, and quoted seven inches at the heel. And not far from that there was another track, and then it had stepped right down where it was soft foiling or brass and ry and what. I don't know what you told the stop, but anyway, it was heavy and it was spongy like material underneath the canopy and a soft moist ground right in this area. And this thing had stepped right there and right down there, right down to the rich you see the

27:37 root system and stuff. I jumped on it, and the area's right there at the track, and I jumped and it just like a sponge. It went down and it came back up this whatever. It was so heavy it went right down and laid the bare roots. And the track was twenty three inches long and about nine and a half inches is white, and seven inches out the hill. So that was a big daddy guy, and that's someone I guess I pissed off. Dwayne had said that he wasn't going to ever go back. He'd been hunting over there over forty years with him, and then was bothered, but that really did it for him and pretty much me too. And about five months later I wanted to go back up there, and I went by and I asked him, selescope up there, and let's just go, And I said, I said, Dwayne, I said, this daytime, it's summertime. I see in the afternoon it's hot. I said, they're going to be out sleeping somewhere. I said, I wouldn't worry about it. Let's go up there. Let's just go. And I talked him into it, and his daughter came along the one to introduced me to him, and we went up there. And are you still with me?

I'm so used to somebody interrupting me or taking off for some It's taken me years to get to the point not to interrupt people. But I just hope the guy didn't get hang up. Thank you so much sposed. So anyway, it's all true. I don't sit around make stuff like this up. In fact, I take the serious does subject too seriously to do that? Oh? We went up there and I just want to thinking. Of course, I was a little nervous going back, but I got now, now these things are gonna now that'd be sleeping somewhere, and I really convinced myself of that. We got out there in part right apart from the metal, and I had my car. They took their feet to his daughter took the jeep. They drove him Matt and I had my little green car and we were parked right there on the access road, right next to the metal.

30:00 I was back in the metal a little bit, and we were there, and that these if you hear some animals or birds chirping, it from usually okay, there's pretty good sign they're not there unless you want them to be there. It was just completely silent. That's a good sign that they're probably around. But these little birds were chripping on the other side of the metal. It's pretty good sided mental about a hundred seed across or more the front, and the birds, little birds sundling, little finches or something. But I'm in the birds and I'm looking at the daughter. She's staring over that area. She's pretty smart girl. Nobody's said anything. I'm looking over the way too. She starts chirping, and then she's got like a pattern rip, kind of like a pattern coming from the little birdie over there too, and she yeah, it changed, it was different these the chirping.

30:59 I'm still not I'm not sure. She walks over there. It was about sixty feet and when she got when in fifteen feet, the little birdie started picking up and trimping, trip, getting excited. But maybe birdies can get excited. Somebody walking towards it. But she got she didn't go any further, and still nobody's saying anything or just watching. And she turned around him, walked back to us, me and her dad, and they were really going crazy. And then something else was happening. Two two squirrels came off about the time, off the distance and towards the bottoms what it's called the bottoms, And it's a fascinating area. That's the first place we camped out.

31:45 When I went up there, I thought it was a good place. It's about hours hike down in there, and it's like the old grooms and stuff and creek and cabbage and given tell and part of the swamp and the other I'm a perfect place for those things. That's where we would say the first night, and we actually had two of them that night. That was long before this, And you had to keep up with me if you can, because I get sidetracked sometimes. But I'm going to get back to what I was saying. But they that first night we had and whist for both sides, and next morning we figured what it was. Next morning we knew going out of the bottoms hiking, starting to hike because of rocks were hitting the trees ahead of this as you're going out, So that confirmed what it was. But that's why it was Okay, we weren't having a problem on Now it's changed now now we're there, got the daughter and she's back, and two squirrels the bottoms that are in the direction of the bottoms. They're going off crazy, and Dwayne said, and Ethn knows his wildlife and the worms right on up. But he said that something's coming this way. And it wasn't. Just right after he said that, which we could hear him coming. It was the same freaking sounds that night. Now this is three o'clock in the afternoon and they're coming that crazy chimpanzee sounds and the little sand

33:16 are that kyote rather in that raven and owl, all the five of them, I count at five the way, I thought there was a lot more than that, but I'm going by the sounds. I thought there was five, but a very out a way, getting louder and louder, just like the night, except this daytime. And they knew we were there, and it's like this second time, they're going to have to freaking warnish, you know. But they come out there and behind the girls on the other side of the matter was probably about one hundred feet away, and they came up to that. You could tell they were right there screaming and hollering and sound like surrounding sound amplified and echoing. It's just so out and they weren't coming out in the open. They were right there and screaming in holland and Delayne asked his day, said, do you want to leave? Because she was pacing back and forth. She said yeah, and again in the car and left. He asked me if they said you coming nice, I don't know why, and I said, no, I'm gonna stick around a little bit.

34:23 And I'm not a brave person. I don't know why I do some things. I can't believe why I do some things. But anyway, they laughed him. That was a lonely feeling, watching her black jeep going out at the dirt road street woods on both sides of them. And then I'm here. These things are screaming in Holland and it's me. I guess they want and I'm staying, which sounds crazy. And I'm looking at my currents about twenty feet away, and it's pointed in a direction that is a dead end on that road. So I get in and I have to turn around. And I got a pretty good idea of these things to from reports.

35:06 These things can move, they're quick, they want you, They're going to get you. I'm thinking, Mike, gosh, I don't want them to have to think about it. They might just change in that car. Getting in there and turning around take a little time, I'm from analyze, but I start walking towards the car because closer to it I am the safer I feel. And I as I'm walking towards it, it's like I got two voices in my head. I run saying get the hell out of here, run go, and the other ones saying no, if you go, you're going to kick yourself. And about the rest of your life. This is why you're here. And I guess kept going back and forth as I'm walking towards the car because I wanted to get out of there, but I didn't.

I'm staying. I don't care if they tear me apart. I'm staying here. And as soon as I thought that, I'm not really into the spine speak stuff, but it was almost like becau. As soon as I thought that, I'm standing here, even if they'll had, even if they tear me apart. As soon as I thought that, another sound joined in with them, and it was the most hideous, deep gurgling growl, I like straight from Hell or something. And it was loud. It's just as loud as them, and they were so loud already, and it was just a growl because I knew yeah, and it just and as soon as I heard that, a bit spella sounded real serious.

37:07 I was already bad enough, and when that joined in, I thought, oh, I changed my mind, and I walked around slowly to my car and opened the door and just still go on. But as soon as I sat down, I hadn't even closed the door yet, it was silence. They all shut up, and which I knew right then. They did what they accomplished what they wanted. So I drove out of the slow, turned around, got the cartoon around, and drove back out. I had to be within pubby sixty feet up or something back and then the brush. I had the windows down and went slow. Didn't hear anything. You wouldn't know that anything was there, and I yelled out the window on the way on, I said, I love you. I don't know why I shod that, but I went out and I thought, oh boy, that's it.

37:58 I had my big foot days are over. And I thought, I'm content. I don't need it. I don't need that just too much. And I went back home and I was glad to be relieved because I don't want to go. But then again it started to bother me, and I that, holy shit, I'm just thinking about it, thacking it off my mind, and I I it's like a loose end or something. I'm leaving something and I didn't feel good about it. But I'm terrified to go back. And I ain't got nobody to go with me either. I'm alone, and I just wanted to move back, but I'm not going to go back, especially and push the envelope. Two stern warnings. At least one at least you thought that first time, you really thought you were going to die.

38:47 And these things can scare the a lot off. There's not they can terrify you. It's no wonder. I believe that. And I've interviewed a lot of people over the years, and military people that through this and been through combat without fail, somebody that's had combat and had an experience with it. Just seeing him not I don't think as bad as what we went through. Has said that this is more frightening or more terrorizing than being an OAR. And I know where they're coming from, at least with this experience. But anyway that I'm laying here and I thought I felt guilty too because Dwayne had told me said now he says, I never had a problem with HI until I brought you up. Here and I'm thinking, my gosh, I have this is awful. And it took me two weeks later on I'm back and thinking about it, and I thought, my god, I want to go back, and I'm freaking. I'm just it's gonna take a lot.

39:45 They have to have a reason. I thought, God, I wonder if I could change it around. If I could change around and get him back with a kissed off and agitated maybe that would be worth a try. That's the only way I would go back. And there was a chance, and I thought of it, Gosh, I'll go back for the food. They wouldn't tech that food either. That they walked by those bananas we had fresh put bananas back up, and they're after the younger one had taken them. And this things went in that night and they passed that tree up twice. There was going in and coming back out, and they didn't touch the bananas. They didn't want They were too they that's how pissed they were. But so anyway, I thought about it, and I thought, got this scene, it's really simple that that's ways music right. I'll get some stuff maybe and go back and put some food up in the tree. And this time I'll take a guitar and sing a little bit. And it took me a while. I don't know what it was. After I thought of that, how many days I said, thought about him, and I was terrified even think about it doing it. But one morning I did it. I just got up and I just said, I do it. I'm going and I went by the supermarket and I got some fruit and stuff and I went out there putting the tree. I had a chair and a six back and the guitar and I put the food up in the chair. And the tree is back in away from the access road about one hundred feet, so when I'm putting the food up, takes ten or fifteen minutes put it off through the

41:16 tree, and I looked back, and then it would have been my worst nightmare of saying, oh my god, I hope doing this. I don't look back, and when I'm standing there by my car or in between me and the car and have a heart attack. But it didn't happen. So I did that, and I did it before I got in. I was doing it for three months. There was about three weeks in between that I didn't because a Barrett caught on it. He just made a mess of everything, getting the food and containers I had and everything, and I stayed the way for over we hope he'd go away right then come back, and he had been done. A couple of days later he came back in. So I stopped it for another two weeks. Then I started putting the food backs up, doing my thing and singing and playing the guitar all together with all this, and sometimes of the fruit or whatever I have would totally rot.

42:14 Twice it rotted and go back up there. And it's also meant and nothing touched it. That happened twice. When then that three months And I don't know why that happened when somebody out there from meh no, but I but the rest of the time that other animals cretters or even the birds and squirrels or whatever it would get the get the food apples or whatever. They always left droppings and food parts or whatever. But annippeels are end of it or whatever. There's always a mess, no matter what got into them. After doing that, like I said, three months, I was persistent at it, and I'm just scared to death every time I had a down here to drive up there. But it did it anyway, and this one day I'm going buy and get some food and take them back up, and nothing was happening there. Only the second time I went up there didn't take them want to know we were there in the daytime and coming after our ask her, I am, I've been there for almost three months and there there was some silent times, but no activities, no sounds, no nothing. So I don't know. I'm sure those things. This is an established area, there's no doubt about that. And I'm sure they were there at some time during that three months. And yet they I don't know. They must have been sit back and maybe watched me and watching this crazy fellow that came back after threatening the journey twice. Maybe I thought I was crazy. I wanted to study me. I don't know. But nothing happened, no sounds going.

43:45 But anyway, towards the end of the third months, I went by the supermarket. Nothing. I don't know if there's any nat to do with its coinsident, I don't think it did. I think someone happened anyway, But I have got some fruit, and I guess the bananas all and I was taking up peanut butter at that time too, peanut butter stain ways. But I had gotten a BlackBerry cobbler a half a month and I had it in a container, a clear container where you could see through it, and it snapped on the sides, like a pie container. You've seen them. They're clear, you can see through them, and they snapped on the side. But I took it all up there, and I put the bananas, peanut butter or through the lambs and tied the some of the food and stuff up up in the bottom of the tub, and I on a cobbler. I put it in a cloth bag, shopping bag. It was cloth, a heavy duty cloth, and I put the cobbler container with a cobbler and about eight feet up on a lamb, and I sit there for about twenty minutes a hundred about seventy feet from the tree, and played some songs and saying drink one or two beers. No in fact that left there. The next morning I come back and I'm longing to tray. I see I had I had a dozen bananas around the tree. They weren't there. I could tell that when I'm approaching the tree they weren't there. And I'm looking down at the ground there's no mesh. All these other animals have always made a mess

45:17 no matter what it was, or left the part of something. There's no messes clean. And I think, I know that's a good sign. And now I'm looking at that bag with the cobbler and I take it down and look at it, and containers still in the bottom, but coverler is gone and the bottom of the container is clean. So I can only imagine maybe something lifted clean and it was snapped back shut and it was still in that bag. Woo who. They started taking the food and I go back to town to tell the Wayne. I said, Dwayne, you've got to come up. I said, you just got to come up. I want your opinion on this. And then I took him up there and I put the bag up eight I took it down and showed him holding no scraps around here and all that, and I look at it. This is clean in here, this container's clean. And what really got him that it would had been snapped back And he told me he said that, yeah, I don't know, he says, I don't know if anything would have could have done that.

46:30 And I knew I was successful at that point on that I took him back. I put some more food up. I put twelve apples up after that, and I went back up by myself. And every time, I mean, really have to get my nerve butt to go back up there. But I went up there next day and I could tell walking up to the tree, apples are gone. And I'm looking around there's no scraps, and oh boy, and I i'm looking there's one apple on the lower slim that I put one down below, and it's right there. There was one apple and it hadn't been touched. And I don't know, but I'm thinking he might have been a feedle, like peace offering when we're good. At least that's the way I wanted to think of it. And so I did a little singing thing and I left, did the same thing, repeat to come back. Gone, no sounds, no nothing, and did a little singing thing. Left, I come back. I think it was about the fourth time a day. Come back. And now I'm sitting there. I put food up, and I go sit in my chair and step on a beer and start playing. And now I'm hearing. I'm hearing the whipsite, little high pitched sounds and stuff, and back me back in the woods a little bit, and I'm the old boy. I did it. I'm thinking I did it, but I'm still nervous, some scared. I'm not really thinking

48:00 it that way of until the next time. And I know it's these things back in there for the whoops and stuff, and just like the sound you hear that people say they've recorded and the whoping. So now I'm hearing it for the second time, and it just dawned on me. I succeeded in what I wanted to do to turn it around. And I don't know why I didn't think that before, but I didn't, and all of a sudden it hit me and it's like a hundred pounds of weight just went right off my shoulders and stress and stuff, and so it was all right. It was great and it felt good. It was comfortable. It's a pretty pretty amazing feeling to be connected in some way to something like that. It's just i's hard to explain, like a connected with another world or something. And I and on a friendly basis too, Gus, what a feeling. But I sart did a thing. I drive out of there, and I don't know why I had. It happened a lot of kept going back and they were there waiting for me, but I was scared every morning. I was just I had all I could do to get my nervous. Even though it had been pleasant, it was still nerve wracking that they'd go back once I was there and they were doing the thing, and I'm explaining and saying it was fine, but I was always scared the next morning to go up.

49:20 And I don't know why, but I was. And someone was really interesting I had done and I changed it around and had what a feeling. So I'm glad I didn't sit on my ass risk my life wondering about it. But so I did that and it really got interesting. I still didn't want to go by myself, and I wanted company or somebody to live into something. And there I fell out a big guy. It works out. He's a Mexican bullat and he's been to prison almost nobody. He's actually a good guy, like he was a friend. But he'd not into this big foot or stuff or anything. And there was a but he knew what I was doing. I drive, I thought he lives at Daddi Town before I start off on the road to go back up there, and I want to drive by just for the hell of it and see if he wants to go, because I wanted company. And he, surprised me, said yeah, I'll go with you. Huh. So he did. Now all this stuff had been happening with me. So now I'm taking him up there, and we get right to this place right by the meadow and right and close the trees down too far. As soon as we pulled him. As soon as we got out of the car, I'm ahead of him walking towards the tree and he's behind me. And those things started off with the weapon and stuff, but a little more aggressive. There was some stocking and a little bit there was just a little bit different than maybe a little intimidating, and especially somebody

50:51 had never experienced anything. And I looked back at him and he his eyes were really good bowls right out, and he looked in his face was priceless. He said, I think I want to go, and I said, I said so, I said, this is I said, this is just getting started. I want to go off. I aditating honor, but I did that. In a couple of times. I took another fell off there some time in between. It wasn't very often but I could find someone to go. But he walked back in a little bit, big stomp on the ground and a smell. I never ever smelled anything with him at this guy did. And he was a hike or hike the mountains of stuff, never having sprit. He did one gun back either. I took the one that was really interesting. Third guy I took back out there. He had he used to live here in this small county. He had an elkin deer and thought he was a hunter, and he was interesting big foot and it bared to and he was interested it. But I talked to him about it when he lived here, and he was just intrigued with it. But he had never seen any evidence on it here for thirteen years. And he got before us. So he went to New York where he's got family. But he comes out here about once a year and spent a few days and business with some family, his kid and stuff. Me. Anyway, he was out here, he gave me a call and he wanted to spend a day with me before he went back to New York. I said, yeah, it'd be great. So he came over to tell him then yet and when he

52:23 showed up, I said he I think I know where big was at, and he got excited enough. That's great, So we went up there. I always thought that these things knew because they were there waiting for me when we had this go on, and I paid that they knew when I was coming because of my car, and I remember, right, I think that we took his band and we were up there and probably maybe ten minutes before the area that I stopped at where the tree is and metal, I mean saw woods, a mountain there you can't see, and I said, ways away yet, and I was driving up there towards it, and then I got the food and everything. But I hadn't heard this sound up there yet.

53:15 I did hear it in the Siscus in northern California. But I heard the sound that sounds like an ERD, you know that one. And he heard it and his eyes got big and he looked at me and he pointed, and I said, of course. By this time, I'm used to him, pretty used to him being there, even though I hadn't heard that sound before, and they hadn't come off with that one up there. And I looked at him and I said, yeah, I said, a fellow, he's just he's letting us know that he knows we're coming or he's getting in the troops. We made it and we arrived to the spot. We get out. As soon as we got out the trees don't spar was part trees. Not far there was a grunt coming from the other side of the mental on the other side of the run away from the tree. It was several hun I guess about three hunter feed back in the air, and I checked that out on the YouTube later on after I got out of there and training. It was gorilla. It sounded just like a freaking gorilla. Anyway.

54:20 You heard that grunt and he's not saying anything. Were silent, but he pointed me and look, I said, I just shook my hand. And about a minute later that was on the other side of this metal we're looking at, and then on the other side of the medal, and the grunt came off again and he said, I think something's encircling us. I said, guy, I do too, That's what you would think it was in sequence a grunt. There a little bit of grunt like something's going in this direction, and a grunt brother down in the same direction going and then I'm out of mental night there was a grunt behind us. I think, well, it across the road further down the access road. Now it's behind us on the left because they're grunt there. About a minute later there was a ground behind us on the other side of us, behind us, and so that's five grunts and it sounded just like something and circled us. And so he's this guy. He's not your typical fellow. Most people wouldn't.

55:25 That would have been enough. They'd wanted to get Pele out of there, and the screen would have done it before we got back in there. He was excited and he's just looking around. And he's a big guy. He's like an old hillbilly or something. But he's already's got a good heart, and he's just excited. He's looking around and stuff. Now I'm wonder what he's looking for. I'm leaning against the car and he's and he sees a tree branchlem and he says he can I grab that and whacked that tree. I don't make any sounds, but he deserved it. I'm just I was more interested in him at this point, and was the big foot it And I said yeah, I said, plus he asked permission. I'm gosh, I don't get that much respect. Usually it's pretty neat. So I said, yeah, I take it, go ahead and grab it, and go ahead do it. I said, I don't do it because I don't know what I'm conveying, But go ahead. He whacked at once. He whacked it twice, then he whacked at the third time. In the third time he did it. Those five grunts from those five positions came off at the same time. We were already surrounded. What do you think of that?

56:35 How do you figure that one out? I'm still here, dude, this is nuts. Okay, I have a clarification question real quick. I don't want to I don't want to distract you at all. But how long ago? Was this? About? Two years ago? Two years ago, Ronnie. I couldn't get back in there. I would have continued. I knew doing what I was doing, but I had to go to a Florida for lo. I ended up seven months there and that was the beginning of spring a couple of years ago. And I then I got back here and there was a fire going, so I couldn't get back in there. Then when it was coming, there was snow. Then the next year I freaking fire again, and so I haven't been able to get back and there's been blocked up. I did manage for a little while up one of the fires.

57:25 I got back up in there and I put a food back up and there I have been able to get back and check it out. Right now, still snow up in there and muddy, and I afraid I'll get stuck. It's the ways back in, but I so I haven't been able to get back up in there everybody. But I did get up there for a little bit before putting time problems with everybody because I was worried that the fire had taken this whole area out. I thought, oh God, that'd be my luck, established area with a family and these things, and it putting destroy In fact, that's what that it was saying fire workers that guys are aht of these fires, are correcting on whatever that Because I was asking around they said, left pretty much that's gone. It wasn't. I got up when there was calm or and you get access to get back in there and stuff.

58:14 That growth back in this or where these things were was twice as thick the end of growth there. WI. So it's even better and I've seen deer there too, So I'm thinking, and that's all that smoke and activity and everything, but that they would have had to have left. But whether they came back or not, not sure, but I got a feeling and they probably would and it hadn't been touched, so that was great. As soon as I get back up in there, I'm gonna try to shit. Yeah, but it's only been a couple of years since and I left on good terms. Ronnie, Can you share anything about Can you share anything about where that area or the general location of that area is for I get it.
