Something orange started running less than 30 feet away.
Corey says he watched a strange figure tear through dense California brush with a running motion he still struggles to explain. His young son and a friend were nearby. He turned to them and asked everyone to head back to the car.
He had been visiting these remote woods since he was a teenager. Over the years, the old mining roads and secluded campsites became the setting for a series of experiences that left him questioning what shared the forest with him.
In Bigfoot Society Episode 1231, Corey recounts movement keeping pace with him through the trees, a small quartz rock landing between two friends, and an unsettling discovery overhead. During a later gold-prospecting trip, his dog retreated beneath the car as his son urged him to leave. What happened farther down the road became one of his most haunting memories.
Corey also shares how these experiences shaped his Christian faith, his spiritual interpretation of the encounters, and his decision to keep returning to the area.
What would make you leave a place you had explored for decades?

Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer. For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the CaringBridge link in the show notes. Thank you. All right, Bigfoot Society. I've got the privilege of talking to Corey today. Corey's an individual that reached out to me about some really interesting things he's had happen and some encounters he's had happen out there in the state of California. And we were able to finally get this interview, this conversation to happen. Had been pushed off a bit just because of cancer treatment, but I appreciate you, Corey, being able to play around with the time here. And welcome to the show, man.
1:18 Yeah, thank you. Thanks for having me. Absolutely. You have quite an interesting story about how this fall came into play for you. How far back are you wanting to go to make sure that, I guess, this story makes sense for the listener? Well, I guess I'd go back to the beginning just briefly. Sure. Well, this place, this spot of camping, it's off-grid. I mean, still to this day, there's no cell service there. It's deep mountains and deep rivers and all that good stuff and lots of trees. And as a friend of the family took us up there because he spent his childhood there doing gold mining on the family claim and stuff like that. And I remember I was like probably like 13, 14 years old and I got out of there and it's just covered in ferns and old growth trees. I mean, like not even second generation, but first generation old growth trees.
2:21 And I said to myself, this, if you're ever going to go hide, this would be the place because there's the beautiful as it, there is, as it is, there's literally no one up there. And so, um, strange things that always happen. We went there every year for years and years. And even into my twenties, when I was, I would, I would go up there and, um, um, nothing really happened i uh we didn't even know what you know no one ever thought bigfoot didn't even really know what it was i mean yes i grew up in northern california you know from my early childhood so of course you heard of bigfoot and um when i lived in westwood and i was a little kid you know some of my uh uncles and stuff talked about bigfoot having seen it but you know it's you know it was like the 70s but um I always run across weird stuff when you'd be up there. Um, we always refer to them as woodpeckers because they would just knock on the tree one, two, three, and then another one would come back one, two, and then like one, two, three, four. And, uh, we've seen enough woodpeckers that act normal around there. They just bang on the trees for like, you know, a couple, a minute or two or 30 seconds, but never just to, you know, come to find out that could be like some, something else, not woodpeckers at all. And, um, I guess my first experience happened in, I think it was 2014.
3:48 I went up there. I took one of my good friends at the time. I took her up there, and we went camping, and we woke up in the morning, and we shot off probably like 200 or 300 rounds. And I mean, other than the trees and the foliage, I mean, sound echoes, and so like everybody within five miles. at least, you know, a couple of miles, knew that we were there and we were armed, you know, because we were just having a fun time. We were a little spot to go off and shoot. And so, you know, and then we went up for a hike. And we're going up this road, a road I've been up numerous times. And you can hear something in, you know, in the woods. You know, how many times you've heard this story? Took us a while to figure out, you know, that something's out there. You know, just, just, just, it'd be, we're walking up the road. It'd be off to our right-hand side.
4:37 up the hill and a little bit forward to us and we're like you know look each other's like is somebody following us is this happening and it would stop and it would take another step and stop and i mean whatever it was it wasn't trying to make itself not known and quite quite the opposite it seemed and then we'd start and stop and start and stop and so we got it in our minds that You know, back in those days up there, growing up in the hills was quite the big thing. And this is the perfect place for it. You know, have probably a nice little gorilla garden. So we're thinking, you know, it's some hippie, you know, trying to, you know, trying to chase us off, you know, with a shotgun or something. So, you know, we're armed, you know, we've been shooting all morning. You ever feeling it? And so we run into the woods after this thing and drop, you know, get in there about 10, 15 yards and drop, drop to the ground and start alligator crawling, trying to surprise or spook, whatever this was. And I remember you could faintly see, you know, as you got away from the road and got away from the manzanita, through the manzanita, the brush kind of cleared out. And you can see it, it became more like a lodgepole forest, if you know what that looks like.
5:50 You know, you can see a little bit through the ground and stuff like that. And you can see a shadow of something, you know. But every time we try to get to it, it would just go further and further back. And I can't necessarily say that it was a Bigfoot, but I can't say or a Sasquatch or this or that. It seemed to have more of a spiritual tone to it. And then, you know, we run forward a little bit, get on the ground, you know, and didn't have our weapons out because, you know, in case it was a person, stuff like that. But, you know, when I am up there, the first and foremost reason why I carry a California-compliant weapon is for people, you know, not anything else. Or, you know, maybe a cougar. And there's a bear up there. I just was up there last weekend and saw a huge bear. Huge! Biggest bear I've seen in that area. It was no bear. Bears don't do that. And so we're sitting there on the ground, you know, staring at each other like, you know, is this really a good idea, what we're doing? You know, kind of rethinking this whole thing. You know, it's not a person, whatever it is. And just then, this small rock dropped between us, just like someone was standing behind us and just dropped it down. And it was a piece of quartz. It's a piece of quartz float. It comes from the other side of this ravine, where the quartz float is on this side. On the other side, it's purely granite. I can qualify that as saying I'm an amateur geologist, and I know the difference, and I know that there's no good natural reason why this stone
7:24 would just land between us. And it was about the size of a walnut. And I looked up and behind, behind us, behind us first, then up. And I see, I know it sounds weird, but like, uh, you know, the predator looking thing. And it moved a little bit and then it was gone. And it's had, it had a weird flash in his eyes. It was like almost a purple color. I look at him and he looks at me and, uh, I remember picking up the rock and then the next thing I remember is we're both standing down at the road where we ran into the forest. Oh man. And so we're like, yeah, I think it's time we go back to the campsite, pack up and go somewhere else. And that's, that's what we did.
8:13 Okay. Wow. Corey, I want to hang out there for a little bit. Sure. That's, that's wild. So that was 2014. You're saying that that happened. Yeah. Okay. And to address, uh, this location, we're not getting into certain details because of certain reasons. And that is okay. Cause I know a few listeners are like, what's the area? Well, sometimes we just, we don't get into it for certain reasons and that's okay. I towards the end of it, I'll get more into it. Cause I just had another very experienced like this year. Perfect. Now you saw the predator type creature. Now when a lot of people bring that up on the show, How would you describe what you saw? Let's go that way.
9:01 I don't know exactly. It's hard to explain. The one off in the distance just looked like a shadow. It almost had a black and brown, shaggy shadow-looking thing. But when I looked up, and that's why after this, I still look up into the trees. That's where they go. Or this... seems to hang out or whatever. Got it. All I saw was just the fade outline. I didn't even see its full outline because, you know, you look up and it's like these trees and this, they're close together and they're 100, 200 foot tall. Oh, okay. So it was literally like in the Predator movie when you see kind of like the outline of it and it's kind of like shaky or hazy.
9:48 Yeah, way, you know, it's, the edges were blurred. You know, you can see through it if it was anything even there or, you know, you know, granted, we had a couple beers the night before but we don't smoke it or nothing like that. Right how far away from you was it when you saw it up in the trees. Well it's probably like 40 50 feet it was up there a little. Bit okay so 40 50 feet up in a tree yes okay now So that's up in the tree. Now, how far away from the tree that it was in were you? What do you mean? Like, um, so I'm looking upwards. I'm seeing 40 to 50 feet up.
10:30 I'm seeing the tree that it was in. Yeah. Within 10, within 10, 15 feet. Okay. So it was close. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Close, but high up enough that we weren't, we weren't going to get it. And we both were armed and neither one of us thought to pull farms, anything like this. And, You know, when I get more into it, I contacted him because, well, anyways. Right, we'll get, we will, I get what you're saying. Just one more question. Could you tell if it was doing anything up there or just you could see the outline? Yes, I know exactly what it was doing. It was watching us quite intently. And you got that because the eyes were just, they flashed and then they were gone.
11:16 And it was gone. Okay. You know, it didn't stay there. And then, like I said, the next thing I remember, we're, we're standing on the road down by the road. I don't really remember walking out. Did you have the rock with you still? Yes. I still have the rock with me today. Are you still out today? Wow. Oh yes. Goodness. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Feel free to continue. And so, you know, after that, we took off, you know, we weren't scared, you know, because we were, you know, we, we thought that we were the quote unquote predators, right? You know, we're both armed, you know, we're, we're the biggest, baddest things out in these woods, you know, even, even if there is some kind of hippie out there with a shotgun. And the, the feeling that I remember having is that it was amused with, with the whole thing, you know, we weren't angry. We were just, I felt outclassed.
12:12 I've never throughout all the times that I've been out in the woods and, you know, with weapons and whatever. And I've never felt completely outmatched, outclassed, out everything. And I didn't, you know, it was just weird. And like I said, we didn't think nothing of it. We didn't run out of there. We weren't scared. We just walked, you know, we just walked back to where we came from, packed up our campsite and left. And it wasn't until, I think it was 2020, you know, the COVID lockdown, good old COVID lockdown. And I was with a friend of mine, another friend of mine, and we were just hanging out because you couldn't do nothing. And we got in this conversation about grizzly bears and, you know, something about the nature of them. I don't remember exactly what it was. And so it's like, let's go to YouTube, right?
13:01 Everything great and grand and special is on YouTube. So I typed in, you know, YouTube grizzly encounters, stuff like that. And I came across How to Hunt. What's his name, Dave? Steve. Steve, yeah, Steve. I love that guy. And this is before I started doing the Bigfoot stuff, or right around the time he started. And he was just talking about his hunting encounters and stuff like that, which is interesting. I'm not a hunter myself, but you know. Um, and so, you know, we listened to it, we listened to a couple of different stories and then we came across the one where someone had asked him, Hey, you know, all the time you've been out there, you've seen a Bigfoot.
13:41 And he's like, well, as a matter of fact, I have. And so we're like, Whoa, that's interesting. And so we watched a couple of them and then he'd read these emails and, and they came across this, this encounter like I had. And I was like, uh, you know, something like that's happened to me. And they're like, let's go, let's go see, let's go look. I was like, you know what? Why not? We're not doing anything else. And I think the, um, But it was also during the fires. The big California fires, I think they went up by Portolo. Oh, sure. And I think that was around 2020. I could look it up. And I had my young son with me and I had my friend and I had my oil changed in my car that day, earlier before I went out there, which is the thing. So, we're driving back, you know, get off the road, and there's this one specific road that you go on, a log old mining road, and you're going up in there, and my car starts acting all goofy, like, this is a Toyota RAV4. Toyotas don't break down. They're good vehicles, and this thing, like, it didn't want to idle right, and that had never happened since, before or since that thing, and so we pull off. There's this little creek you've got to walk across, and I pull off right by the creek, and I don't know. Maybe my friend was a little psyched up, but, uh, they get out. First thing they do is, uh, they say, look, it's right there. And I'm like, what do you mean?
15:09 It's right there. It gets, gets the phone out, takes a picture of it. And it's like, yep, there it is. And I'm like, I'm like, there's no way this is happening. You know, this, this is a rare thing. I'm choosing not to believe it. And I, you know, I don't actually look up in the area because I didn't, I don't want to see it. I don't want to believe that it's there. I just want to go up, show them the place, have a nice walk around, you know, had my son with me. He was three or four at the time. And, um, you know, we're just going to go for a hike and that's all I wanted to do. I did not want to have an encounter. I did not want to see anything again. And, um, um, I go to the back of the car and open it up and I'm getting, and I'm getting my gun out.
15:52 And I hear this thing in my head. I can't say it's mind speak or anything else. It's just a thought that went into my head, you know, remembering the last time and just said, you're not going to need that. Oh man. And I was like, you know what? You know what I did? I took it off my hip and put it back in the car and close the car. And then we took, and then we walked out. And so we're walking up this, this it's a road. And, um, like all these little things start coming out, you know, little, little rocks, little piece acorns, which is weird because there's, there are oak trees up there, but not there. And, uh, there's no wind, you know, and I'm kind of, you know, we walked past where, where I ended up looking at the picture later and yes, and I still have the picture somewhere, but I ran it through a filter and kind of messed it up and I don't have the original anymore. Um, But yeah, there's a picture of something holding on to a big old tree, poking its head around the side. And you can see its nose and one eye. And it was brown and kind of blended in with everything. It could have been that parable. Parabolia. Yeah, parabolia.
17:03 It could have been that. And that, at the time, was what I was... Yep, parabolia. Nothing actually there. We're good. And so I walk up ahead a little bit where the road turns and I'm looking down and I'm like thinking like, you know, maybe we should go back. Maybe this isn't a good idea. You know, we can go hike somewhere else. And so I'm staring, I'm just staring off into space deep and not, not in space, but I'm staring down the hill a little bit, just looking at the trees. And all of a sudden something comes, just starts booking it. And it looked like an orangutan at first. It had super long arms. The best way I can explain it is, you know, Bob Gimlin's show.
17:48 That one show where he went to Michigan with that guy. Oh, yeah. Had those encounters. Yeah. And remember how that thing had really long arms, shorter legs. It wasn't the typical head, right, that other people describe. But it stood out. To me. At first. About it. Because I watched it. It just. Booked it out of there. Down the hill. Actually. Back towards the car. In a rough. General direction. That we came in. And. It had long. Arm hair. Probably like. Six inches long. That went from. All the way. From its. Armpit.
18:29 All the way down to its wrist. And it was a. Orangutan. A dark. Intent. I mean. Not dark. But bright. Orangutan color. But. other than its arms and the hair on its arms, that's where the similarity ended. Its face kind of looked like the face, you know, that more human, less conical head, kind of squenched down a little bit, you know, almost like Patty. It looked smallish, you know, compared to its body, if that makes sense. And its arms, like, way down, its legs were short, and it had this weirdest gait while it was running. It almost looked like Like Jack Sparrow, when he's trying to sneak and run at the same time.
19:14 Right, yeah, exactly. And its legs weren't in sync with its arms. It's almost like its legs did three trots for two swings of its arm. And it was fast, and it was just mowing through Manzanita. The thing was that it was short. It was probably only five foot tall. And I know this because... I didn't see it standing there, if it was in fact standing there, which it had to have been, and I had to have been staring right at it until it moved. You know what I mean? And it didn't look at me. I got a little bit of a side profile, but I was just mainly looking at it. I got only a brief shot of its face before it turned and went down, but its arms and legs.
19:57 And it just booked it to that manzanita. And if you know manzanita, it's not something you book through. How far away from you was it when it started booking? When it first started? Under 30 feet. Under 30 feet. And so it was standing right there staring at me. It had to have been a complete accident. And so no one else saw it who was with me. They were just coming up the road behind me. And I turn around. And I'm like, well, I just look like I saw a ghost because I basically just did. And a kid's running around and having a great time. My friend looks up at me. He's like, what happened? I'm like, just go back to the car. And so we did.
20:40 you know, and that was that. Why did you have them, everyone go back to the car? Oh, I would, I would, if, well, she's saying, or my friend was saying that, you know, took a picture of it and she's like, they're like, that's a female because, um, fancied themselves a bit of a sensitive, intuitive type person, stuff like that. So if there's a big, and it looked big thing hanging out in tree, hanging out in the tree that we passed, um, And there's a younger one because, you know, again, I don't know these things to be facts. But, you know, I'm just assuming that if there's a what looks like it could be a mother and something that it looks like it could be a kid. I'm not in a big hurry to meet the rest of the family.
21:27 Yeah, that's true. You know what I mean? So I'm not I'm not out there looking for I'm not doing any of that stuff. We're just up there. to show my friend where this, where this, where the first weird experience happened. And so, um, and every time I've went, went back and I've explored the whole other rest of that site again, as an adult, and I'm still having not gotten gone back up that road. I don't think I will. Yeah. It's just too, it was too intense an experience for you. It's too intense. It's, it's, uh, it's, um, I was just giving them the basic group respect, you know?
22:09 Oh yeah. Oh no, I get it. Yeah, sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. But the next experience I had was on the other side of the hill. Same, same location. Before we get to the next, there's one last question I want to, because this is fascinating. This is absolutely fascinating. Um, when, when it was running, how was it holding its arms or what was it doing with its arms as it ran? It had it swing them all the way forward and all the way back. OK. If that makes any sense. It does. Wow. It didn't have it. It didn't have a you know, it wasn't a runner. You know, it wasn't like how people run. You know, it's arms weren't tight to it and kept front. It was just like front and back and forth, like all the way back and all the way forward. Almost, you know, shoulder with the par. and then almost short, not, not quite, but probably a third lower under the shoulder on this backswing. You know, I got a real good look at it and it had really long arms, long fingers, short legs in comparison, but you know, and it was skinny, really, really skinny. It was very, more, you know, more spider life than like a, um, a weightlifter, you know, like, like other described with nothing like that.
23:27 Right. It sounds like, man, if you, If you were in a zoo, it sounded like it would have fit right into an orangutan exhibit. Right. And then so I went back and looked at orangutans, and it looked nothing like, you know, they're short. The legs were longer than an orangutan, obviously. And if you've seen an orangutan, they, you know, walk around on the ground. You know, orangutans are mainly for trees, and they're not meant to be in zoos. Nothing's really meant to be in a zoo. But when they do walk around on their legs, they walk around like a toddler. Yeah, right, right, right. How far away, roughly, from this experience area, how far away from it, the area with the predator up in the tree, is this area?
24:16 Probably like 300 yards away, further up the hill. Okay. So it's right there. So you got some weird stuff going on in there. Okay, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Course sorry feel free to continue just some this is fascinating stuff oh. Cool um so it's it's been a lot a lot of years and so it'd be like fast forward like four more years and um the primary reason that i go up there now is uh you know there's old those old mine diggings and stuff like that so i i metal detector, other places, other mines. I live out in the desert here in Carson City and Reno area.
24:59 And I always hit the old mine dumps, you know, the high grade piles with my metal detector, you know, my mine lab, gold monster. And, you know, it's got my head a few years back, like I should go up there and do that because all the mine activity and, you know, I've penned, I've, as a kid, I penned, even though you're not supposed to, I did a little bit of gold penning. And there's gold there. It's really flaky, not worth keeping. And they never took anything off of the, out of the Creek. So I'm going to take this, you know, because the mine lab little detector is a thousand dollar machine. And so, you know, it's going to earn us money. And so that's what I went up there to do. So as the road comes into the Creek and the Creek's again, off to the right side, there's a road that goes up to the left. It was like, well, I'm not going, you know, I'm not going to the right. So I'm going to go to the left off the side, because that's where the, the old plaster mine diggings are at. And at other mine sites, I had luck with a metal detector on the roads themselves, you know, because sometimes they would drop stuff. The old timers would. And so, again, this is just my unwillingness to have another experience. And so I come up to this place, you know, where there's intersection of three different roads, well, four, counting the one I went up. And there's a, you know, a spot on top that you can park your car.
26:19 And so I, you know, park the car, get out and off to the right and to the left to the way I'm going to go. I hear rock clacking together, like rocks, clackety-clack, clickety-clack, clickety-clack. And I'm, you know what I honestly thought is that there was other prospectors up there. You know, and that made sense to me. And it's like, they're off in the distance a little ways, both of them. And it was like kind of far off, hard to tell. in the forest like that so it's like you know and get the dog out i had my dog with me i had my son and me and the metal detector and we go out we go off to the right and my son you know young instantly bored you know metal detecting is a very patient thing and you really get yourself tuned and tied in. My attention's all on the ground. I'm completely oblivious to everything going around.
27:13 Probably about a half mile up in there. And the kid starts playing with the dog and running around a little bit. And I'm like, beep, beep, beep. Get down and start digging. It's a quality thing. Just coming across a lot of hot rocks and maybe a couple, you know, nothing spectacular. Bullets. Nothing spectacular. And off to my right, off to my left side down the hill a little ways. And it was like, let me explain it. These roads aren't used. And so they're all, it's all overgrown. A lot of the Manzanita hasn't reclaimed the roads entirely, but some roads have been. I mean, this Manzanita is thick and it's, you know, a good five feet tall, at least, if not higher. And off to the side, you hear this large thump. like somebody dropped a two ton rock onto the ground. You know, I look at, I look at my son, he looks back, he's like, Oh, it must be a mountain lion. It's like mountain lions aren't that heavy. My dog who is with us, you know what she did? She turned around and ran back to the car. Oh man.
28:22 What kind of dog is it? She's a pit bull, a staffie. Oh wow. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You know, she's like, she's like, she's like deuces gone. You know, it wasn't so like until I got back when we finally You know towards the after the rest of the encounter or when we got back to the car She was literally hiding under the car And so I'm like thinking it's like oh man, I think I know exactly what this thing is You know what I mean? And so it's like but knowing it. No, I drove Hours to get to this place to do what I'm doing here. I'm not getting chased out of the woods. I That's what I said to myself. I was armed this time, you know, and my kids just like, OK, stands behind me and start metal detecting again. And. The rock clacking starts again, and I'm like, no, no, that's not happening. And then it literally starts shaking the bushes.
29:18 you know, over a period of like five, six minutes, it wasn't low. I wasn't there much longer. Start the bush, start shaking around and stuff like that. And again, you can hear stuff like walking around, snapping twigs often than, you know, if you can't see it any, you know, but there's something there. I'm like, all right, that sounds like, you know, can we go? And so it follows us close. No smell, nothing like that. Didn't actually see it. I'm visibly upset. I don't want to leave. You know, I've been there, been going there for over 20 years, and I'm not going to be chased out by something. You know, at this time, I had listened to a lot of interviews about Bigfoot and stuff like that and listened to Steve.
30:04 And he'd always say, you know, don't be afraid. Go back out and reclaim your woods. And I still believe that. You know, don't... And so that was my mindset. And I even stopped a metal detector, tried the metal detector a couple more times. And every time I'd stop, I suddenly, like, that's go. And something would shake off and, you know, like a bush would shake around. And so, like, all right. So... We double-timed it back to the car. And like I mentioned before, there was rock clacking on the other side, and it got more intense. And then the bushes and the manzanitas started moving around and stuff like that. And I'm like, I'm mad. I'm mad. I'm not scared. I'm probably reacting completely inappropriately for what was going on. I'm probably scared the livings out of other people. But, you know, I'm mad. And so I get in there and I crank the radio up, you know, and it was Led Zeppelin.
30:58 And so I'm blasting Led Zeppelin. I'm rearranging my car, putting metal detector back in, you know, moving stuff around. And all of a sudden it got more intense and like stuff start happening like three different directions ahead of me, up to the right, to the side, you know, like just noises in the background. rock clacking and then the bush is shaking around and i'm like fine fine i get it i'll leave i get in the car and i um turn the radio down and i you know go down the hill still had my toyota ref or it's not a very loud car and this is like early spring and so i get down i'm probably about 100 yards down this road do a couple turns and come to this flat spot and i turn the rate i had the radio off you know it's like a fine you know i'm gone Right. And so I hear cicadas. Well, there's one one problem. You know, you know, you know, cicadas sound like right. There's an insect off in the distance.
32:00 I'm like, that is the sound I've never heard of. I looked it up. There are cicadas in California, you know, of quite lesser type than they have back east. But I'm like thinking it's like nothing insect wise should be making, you know, should be adult enough and making this kind of noise in mid spring. Right. Yeah. And so I'm just listening to it. And, you know, the birds are chirping. The chipmunks are, you know, typically often things. And I'm sitting there, you know, midday, you know, and the sun's out. But it's where I stopped. It was so dark. And all of a sudden, it's like you could feel the silence come down this ravine up just where I was just at. And you could almost see this field of silence. And the whole forest, looking from my perspective, from right to the left, coming down the mountain in this heavily... wooded area everything went silence like in order and it's like all the cicada sounding things just all shut off at the same time no more birds no more chick monks nothing nothing except a slight you know like a little and a little breeze and i was like i have never had i've heard
33:31 it happen to other people but i that was the first time up there that I was scared even after everything that happened you know 10-20 minutes before that. Did that did that silence affect you physically in any way when it started or got close. To you it made me scared okay but no, I don't think it was like in for sound and anything like that. It was, it was just, it, it was a presence. I don't know how else to explain it. Sure. Yeah.
34:12 I know. I totally get it. Yeah. And so it was that time, you know, got, got a little bit scared. And so, you know, triple timed it down the Hill, back to the back pavement. And, um, it was gone, you know, and I, and I, I, you know, I've come back and I've told other people these stories, you know, And, you know, there's a few people who don't believe me. And my, you know, my kid and my son's mom, she believes me, but she doesn't believe, you know what I mean? I'm not, I'm not, I know I'm not going to lie about something like that.
34:52 You know, she just, right. Right. Right. Yeah. So that's like, why would you, but you know, she has no other, you know, so I took her up there. You know, like the next year, which is only like two years ago now. And something had happened to the whole place. The Forest Service and I must have, you know, I read it up online. I was like, what are they doing? I thought they're going to log the place because they went and rehabilitated all the old logging and mine roads, right? And they went in with chainsaws and they cut out all of the underbrush. Right to the place where I was at. And there was no longer any brush. They took it all and piled all the little saplings and all the manzia and whatever else was growing there. And they put it in piles. And then they covered it with a plastic bag and then put a couple logs on top of it. And they just they cut out huge swaths at it. In fact, I was back there this year and they're still doing it. And so we went up there and showed, showed the place and right, right.
36:05 Where is that? They, they went up in there. And so of course, what's the first thought that I have is like, Ooh, I can get off the road and into the, and into the, and into it and do more metal detecting that you couldn't do before. And so later on that year, um, I went and camped with my grandson and my son. There's three places to park along the creek. If you want to camp on the creek, there's only three places to camp. Place one, place two, and place three. Place three is within 100 yards or where I had that last experience, not the last one, but where I actually saw it. It was like literally right there. And so I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not camping there. So I camp in, you know, place two, which is, you know, about a half mile away from it. And I had my dog with me.
37:02 I had my quad, you know, cause I'm going to explore this whole place, you know, look for more mines and stuff like that. And if I happen to run across this thing, then cool, you know, so be it, but I'm not up there looking for it. I'm up there with the boys to have fun. And we get there, and there's immediately, you know, we get out, the dog gets out, I get out, take the quad up to the trailer, and I hear this giant wolf from a very, sounded like a very large dog, and one wolf, and one wolf only, and it echoed really loud, and I'm like, I wonder if someone else is here, because I've already been past Site 1, I'm at Site 2, so, you know, I'm going to go check out Site 3, you know, it's good to know if I have neighbors. I go up there, there's nobody there. No sign of a dog.
37:48 So that's a little weird, right? And so that's when I come back, start to set up camp. And we were there for three days. And there would be, as the sun went down, these logging guys would come out of there in their trucks. And it was on the four of them, each with three or four guys, right? And you can hear them during the day just cutting away. And so I would have loved to talk to those guys. And so it's like, can you think of what happened? Because I bet they do have something great to happen. Oh, exactly, yeah. You know, because they're not destroying its habitat. They're actually rehabilitating it. You know, they're taking all of the fuel off the floor. So if a fire comes through, and as long as the trees are healthy, it won't take the trees. because a good healthy forest won't burn down completely. Um, and they have to be cleansed by fire and all that stuff. Um, um, so the third night, or maybe it was the second night, um, and it came down later, you know, truck one goes by, truck two, truck three goes by. And I, you know, hadn't started my camp far away then they waved back. And, um, um, as the last truck goes by, you hear something chase following it at a, at a healthy truck. Again, whatever it was,
39:21 was on two legs and whatever it was, it was big. Didn't see it. By that time, it was dark and you couldn't see anymore. Because in this deep, dark forest, once the sun goes down, it's completely gone. You don't see nothing, especially in this spot, even if they cut out the underbrush. My dog saw it. She looked at it. I'm looking in the direction where I heard it stop because it was like whatever it was, was chasing these forestry guys out or following. I wouldn't say chase. I would say following them out. And it stopped because it's coming down a corner in the road. And you come across my campsite, just like poof, out of nowhere. You come in the other direction. You won't know it's there until you're right at this spot and it stopped. And my dog looks in this direction, doesn't growl, doesn't do anything, barks at it once, just woof. And then turns around and heads for the tent. And that was that. For that time, it's kind of, you know, anticlimactic. I was just there a couple weeks ago, and they're still logging.
40:34 But I come across these three dogs. The guys in white trucks, I don't know if they're loggers. They didn't have business license numbers on them either. They just had some weird company logo sign on it, right? And it was like an EVM, environmental something or another. I don't know what. And so I was like, first guy stops and he's like, hey, you up here hunting? I'm like, uh, no. He was just trying to find out what I was doing up there. Yeah, exactly. And I was like, you know, I did my best gold finger. I'm looking for gold. You know, and he's like, oh, yeah, okay.
41:15 You know, and, uh, which is weird because you never see anybody back up there and they weren't, I don't know what they're doing. They're probably just, I don't know. Don't know, don't know. But it was, seems kind of weird because I do think you know, going back to after, um, when I went up there at the quad and stuff the time before is, um, I did see that someone had placed a line. It was a colored line. I think it was like orange, but it had all these little hooks on it. And I think they call those things, uh, um, the DNA hair collectors, um.
42:00 Was it across the road or just in the woods? I think it was between what was forest service land and a mining claim. It was some kind of thing, but it was like I've never seen anything like that. How high off the ground was it? About two feet. That's weird. It was weird. I don't know. Yeah. Other than that, that was, that's pretty much it. I mean, they've, they've clear, they've cut out the brush. They're still at it. It must be year three that they've been doing it. And I look forward to going back and metal detecting it some more. This is Corey. This is really wild stuff. So what do you think man is going on up there? I mean, you've got things that look like orangutans. You've also got the predator. Is it the same thing? Is it different?
42:55 As for what it is, I've heard a lot of theories. Let's start with what it isn't. It's not something that's going to end up in the zoo. Sorry. Sure, absolutely. Yeah, sure, there could be undocumented cryptids, but with all the technology and all the people that go up in there, and they're not just there, but throughout all the spots, Something that big that has an ecology, you know, is not going to escape protection for this long. So, you know, I think I'm a firm believer now that it is of a spiritual nature.
43:42 You had mentioned that in passing before, and I'm glad we're getting back around to it. So talk to me about that, because that does come up. quite a bit on the show. And I'm curious to hear your viewpoint on that. Oh, whatever it is. Um, it's, it's not here full time. Cause there's a, you know, there's this thing called the unseen realm. And, um, you know, that backs up biblically, not backs up in scripture, that there are many things out there in these woods and the deserts and all the places where the, I guess, um, refer to it as the veil, um, the barrier between this world and the other one, the unseen realm is thinner. I just think that this is one of those places where it is a really thin. And so anything that has the ability or will to pass between here and there can, can do it better there than, than in other places.
44:42 Does that make any sense? It does. Um, Yeah, I mean, it is such a discussion because, yeah, you look at all these reports, and if you connect them with other types of reports, and you can start to find certain areas in the U.S. or North America where it's like, yeah, there's something going on in the Cascades of Oregon. I believe it's of a... I believe it's of a spiritual nature. Because we are, at the end of the day, we are spiritual beings, first and foremost. Absolutely, yeah.
45:23 You know, we just happen to be driving around these meat sacks, called bodies. Right. And to put a name on it, this is like a... I, you know, recently became a Christian. Well, not recently, but in my mid-40s, I'm 53 now. Okay. I pray now. And so I, I, I did pray about it and I, and I did get some kind of an answer. And, um, um, you got the Shadeen, right? Um, so if you get into the unseen realm, you know, it's a book by Michael Heiser and you get into it, he, he classifies demons as the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. Right. Okay. And, uh, some of that DNA evidence that came back from, was it Dr. Melba?
46:08 Are you talking about Dr. Melba Ketchum's study back in the day? Yeah. Yeah. And it's hard to make, you know, that's very intriguing. But what if you just took it at face value? It kind of points towards something like the Nephilim, but The problem is, is that the last thing you ever want to run into out in the woods would be a biblical Nephilim, because it's not going to be like throwing rocks at you and banging on trees. It's going to come out with a sword and armor and kill you. Because, you know, those are great men of renown. And that's the thing with the people who say that try to attribute more abilities to these things. Why don't they have fire? Why don't they use tools?
46:57 I think they do use a form of tools. That's a different discussion. Like there have been things that, I mean, rock, rock flakes and, and, but I get what you mean. You're talking about way different tools, right? Right. There's, these definitely aren't men of renown. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. You know, these are, I don't know, like, like blinker monkeys. She ever played D and D. you know, things that just pop it in out of existence, you know, trying to make a joke really of that. But, uh, so the answer that I get that I come back to is, um, I think that they're a kind of an agent of chaos. And, uh, I think their primary, they're, they're almost like an obsession demon and they infest and they're territorial and they infest places and, You know, like Paul said, you know, our main our main problem isn't bullets, powers and principalities. What's a principality? Principality has a domain. And these things, these things like seem to be territorial and inspirational narrative, but territorial nonetheless, because they don't want you there. And, you know, I think. That the agents of, you know. the dark side are, they hate us. Oh, absolutely.
48:26 Absolutely. Satan hates us. And when people have like close up encounters with these things where they're corporeal, what is, you know, almost everybody, like 90% of everybody, they look at you with just utter hate. Right. How many times have we heard that? And so, but they don't attack when they clearly can and out, and outdo you because they, There are rules to the spiritual world that they have to follow. Exactly. And so they're not allowed to harm us. I was just going to bring that up. I'm glad you're bringing that up. Please keep going. Yep. And so, but yet, you know, if you listen to the 411s, there are people who go missing, but I think those are people who messed up. They do get into yourâ whatever it is can get into your mind and does. you know and it can over it can overpower your your mind and um I don't know it's not it's where it's not actually doing it to you it's you doing it to yourself and um how many times have you think you know like the the missing 411s where the missing 411 stuff is like people find their boots.
49:43 Yeah. Right. You're not going to close all right. Nicely, you know, nicely, you know, I think that someone, you know, you're so, so my, someone had their mind overturned there. They lost their will. And, um, so whatever it did this to it, um, they tell you basically do that's possession, um, And, um, yeah, people over the years have, uh, you know, how many times you go around and you see, uh, people with stickers, you know, it's almost like an, an idol worship at this point. And, and, uh, there's almost like a religion of Bigfoot.
50:28 I agree with that. It is a, uh, it's a community where people really get into it, including myself. I totally get that. Yeah. Yeah, myself included. You know, in my meditations on it, it's not necessarily a good thing. You know, the first thing that people should be talking about instead of Bigfoot, not say that we shouldn't be, is tell me what your prayer life is like, you know? Sure, yeah, absolutely. And I think that applies to anything in life. Yes, anything. It's anything that people get obsessed with. And so... A good book to read is The Unseen Realm, which led me to the Dictionary of Deities and Demons in the Bible. And just by brief looking at it, you have these things called satyrs and the sarim, which is plural for satyrs. And satyrs have always been talked about as, well, hairy men directly, and then hairy goat, hairy goat-like things.
51:31 Kind of like the goat man, right? Yeah, exactly like the goat man. But I think you're dealing with a thing that can change its appearance. And if you're, you know, and if you look at these things, and first off, anything that has red glowing eyes, that is not anything physical. I mean, it's made physical, but it's a... There are, and described in my unseen realm, very powerful, powerful beings, you know, like the 200 watchers that have fallen, you know, and... Genesis 6-1, and they came down to heaven, they saw the women, and then they liked them, had children with them, and those children wore the Nephilim. Right? And you look at that DNA evidence from Melba, and that's exactly... Doesn't that sound familiar?
52:18 But I don't think that they're a Nephilim. I think that they're a counterfeit of some sort. Because you've got to think of what these... Negative spiritual entities, what's their goal? To get you to obsess over them. And when you're obsessed over them, your prayer life isn't that good at that point. And so anything that these things can do to lead you away from Jesus and the saving of your soul, that's what I think they are in a nutshell. And I mean, there are infinite rabbit holes that you can go down. My primary interest in him is like, you know, there's only two sides to this battle. Oh, yeah.
53:06 Jesus and Satan. So you know what side that they're on. My primary interest, and it's just a passing one at this point, is I want to know which lieutenant specifically is holding their leash. Hey, Corey, I'm going to tell you something, man. Yeah. Earlier in this year, I started praying that, that God would allow spiritual things to come up on this podcast by themselves and that conversations will happen. And, um, they did right away, right away, Corey, and we've had some fantastic spiritual conversations. And I will tell you the attacks have been intense. Like nothing I've ever experienced in my life since then. Intense spiritual attacks, man. My goodness.
54:09 I bet. But God is 100% stronger than anything. But man, it is getting rough. It's getting really rough, Corey. When it comes down to it, you have the ability to chase these away. Pray in Jesus' name and it will happen. That's what I'm doing, dude. I have to. And it's happening, you know. The church doesn't understand what we can do with that, you know. Some do. Some do. Some do. I luckily have a good church who, you know, I've been into the occult, unfortunately, and have certain abilities. Like I said in the email, and I didn't really want to get too much into it. Mm-hmm. You know, I can sense and see things that other people can't. Like, you know, your cat can, you know, come into your room, look in the corner and start hissing at it. And you look over in the corner and nothing's there. The cat sees it. That's kind of what it's like. And then see, it's mentioned in the Bible and referred to as seers. That's basically it.
55:13 You're talking about your life. You're like, I remember the email, your personal life. This is how it all began for you is what you're saying. Yeah. Yes. I believe that everybody has this power, just that it or gift, quote unquote, yuck, yuck. It's not really a gift to me since then all the time. Everybody has this ability, but our society at large teaches us to ignore it. But when you have an intuitive personality and you learn to trust your intuition, it opens the door. It opens the door.
55:57 I see what you're saying there, for sure. And with these attacks, just keep praying, brother. Please keep praying. I'll put you in my prayers. I am 100%. 100%, and it works. I will tell you that, man. I will tell you that. There is a conversation I want to go back to for a second. So this has come up. in a few shows and it's coming up on other shows, like, uh, mysteries unknown with Josh. He's a great guy. Um, what are your thoughts about that?
56:39 All the cryptids out there are actually being held back until a certain time. And then it's just going to be like, people are going to start to be attacked because they'll be like, let loose. You know what I mean? Yeah. It, it, Crack the book. Look at Revelations. It basically says that. And when that starts happening, you get right with God. You get right with Jesus. Because the end is coming. I think, I don't know if it's because of these podcasts or whatever, but from what I'm noticing, these encounters seem to be more frequent and more intense than they were, say, 20 years ago.
57:26 I would agree 100%. And so there seems to be a trend here. And I'm not saying it's not looking good. You know, the day of judgment, if you're a true and professing Christian, is a good thing. It is. It is. And that means the kingdom of heaven is at hand, you know. And so what does the Bible always say about What phrase does the Bible always say more than anything? Old and New Testaments. Do not fear. And so these things aren't to be feared. Once you don't fear them and once you have a... The powers of the darkness are extremely intense and can kill you and all those things.
58:16 But know that that's only a third of the power that's out there. The power of the righteous ones, you know, the good people, the angels, if you will. Angels is kind of a misnomer. It's a bucket term. All angels really means is messenger. But the beings that do these things are more numerous and more powerful and have the backing of the creator of the universe. So why these things, you know, why God allows evil things to happen has always been an eternal question. And we'll know one day. We will know. We will know one day for sure.
58:56 And that's why I feel that the simplest way to refer to these things is they're just agents of chaos and they're trying to lead people off the path. Exactly. lead them off the path have them. And I mean and that's a yeah and that's a quite literal thing I mean you know think of the kids that are crying in the woods they want you off the path literally in that you know in that point Like I said, I went off the path when we charged into the woods after this thing. By the way, I wouldn't suggest anything. Something's falling around the woods. I would just leave. I wouldn't try to chase it down. You're not going to like what you find. It's not going to be Harry and the Hendersons going out there and offering you a sandwich or something. You're dealing with incredibly powerful, what I consider intermediate level demons, the Shadim, the Satyrs, the Sarim. That's what you're going to find.
59:54 You're not going to find your garden variety, you know, bad thought demon. You know, these ones have names type of type of deal. You know what I mean? And they're not to be trifled with. They're not to be toyed with at all. And when, you know, and if you want to go out in the woods and have a good encounter and not run into them, I suggest you, you pray and you take some like-minded people who pray with you and, We claim the woods that are ours because they're ours. This world belongs to us. It's currently ruled by Lucifer, Satan, or whatever you want to call them.
1:00:37 But not for much longer. And if he releases them, so be it. That's an interesting thought I've actually never had is going to an area where you know there's Bigfoot activity, but also making sure you're praying ahead of time. Um, and seeing how that affects that. I bet you, I bet you won't see him. I bet you won't see him. Fair enough. Fair enough. Yeah. Good point. I can ask Corey. Um, it sounds like you're going to keep, keep going out to this, this area in California though.
1:01:18 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, uh, there's a couple of claims that have opened up and, uh, I'm looking for my retirement plan to get a little acclaimed. I also like to cut rocks and stuff like that. There's more money in so many precious gems than there is in gold. That's what I do for my retirement. Like we're told, like Jesus has told us, don't be afraid. This is our world. Claim it. There you go. Don't let these, you know, don't let them chase you out. And I still carry weapons with me, but, you know, I carry weapons for people. Right.
1:02:03 You've got, you've got people, you've got other animals out there. Yeah. Yeah. Like I said, the last, last time I was up there and we drove around, you know, you know, not the same general area, but not the specific area. And I was glad I saw the hugest, black bear i've ever seen he was not impressed i mean like almost came up to the hood of my my uh f-150 and uh it's just you know stomped the ground a couple times did a couple brodies and just booked it down the hill and um i can see how people you know it was actually nice to see it because what i saw did not look anything like this black bear it wasn't even the same color we don't have orangutan colored bears.
1:02:53 Yeah, very, very, very good point. And like they say, seeing is believing. It's not like I didn't believe, but having saw it with my own two eyes, it's a mystery. And I became obsessed about it. And when I told you, when I started praying for answers, the answer came back is that what they specifically are is not as important as being not obsessed with it. Hmm. Okay yeah and crack the good book and you know live live your life i'm not saying not to be interested in the subject because it's just but approach you know approach it from the spiritual side of it you know because it to me it's a spiritual problem and when you have a spiritual problem get based solved by any human solution you're not going to go out there and shoot this thing you're not going to get your answers that way i mean I'm not saying that people lie on some of these things, because you know that they do. And you get these reports, you know, somebody shoots a big black helicopter, show up, and it's all swept under the rug. It's a big cover-up. I'm here to tell you, having dealt with the government, having worked with the government, they're not that slick. Somebody somewhere is going to talk, and you're going to have your proof, right?
1:04:16 Someone will talk, absolutely. Shooting is a human solution to a spiritual problem. Whatever they are, they're not here full time. What's more important is what holds their chain. Absolutely. And a decision you have to make is do you want to toy with its master? Because like you said, it will come after you. Once things higher up on the spiritual food chain notice that you have noticed it, you're running into danger, real life. And it will come in. It will come at you in your life in ways that you wouldn't think were possible.
1:05:06 It's a lot to think about Corey, man. This is, this is a heavy one. This is good stuff. This is good stuff, dude. Do you think, uh, Real quick, do you think there's portals involved with this as well? Yes. I do. It reminds me, you've heard other people on other shows, and I won't mention any names, say that they've talked to NASA scientists, and NASA scientists have known about portals forever. So it's like, okay, I know scientists. Their life lives on their ability to To have printed papers in review journals, right? And so if there was something like that, you know, something super dark, secret, first off, there's nothing secret to scientists. They're, you know, open books.
1:06:00 They're not going to find like a Stargate portal and not say anything about it. So I looked it up, and anybody can. Yes, NASA has a phenomenon referred to as a portal, but that's just where the Earth's magnetic field comes in contact with something else. You can look it up. And yes, it's not a portal. But to answer your question, yes, absolutely. Absolutely. But it takes forms. You know the Mandela effect, right? Yeah, yeah. And then, you know, it's basically where different people, we drift through one world to the next, right? People, I know, have friends that, you know, have specific memories of sitting in class watching Nelson Mandela's funeral when he was in office. And, you know, you can look it up and you can ask people, the Bernstein or Bernstein bears, you know? Exactly. Exactly.
1:07:01 So I think that it's not so much the portal system, we somehow shift, you know, we're spiritual beings. I think that our spirits, unconsciously to us anyways, can shift from one world to the other. And this is out there. This is getting tinfoil hat, man. But I think that's basically it. And whatever... exact physical the physical ones not just this the demonic counterfeit of them because i think that isn't like like the ones with the red the bigfoot with the red eyes right as opposed to the bigfoot with the eye shine right i think those are two different things one's a you know a shape-shifting demon a satyr if you will taking taking its form to scare you another one is actually these things i you know a a hypothesis of mine just one of few uh is that um Whatever this physical creature is, that ability is not unconscious to them, but conscious to them.
1:08:05 Does that make sense? And I think that it's more than them that does it. Even in the last couple of years, this dogman phenomenon has just come out of the closet. Oh, it's wild, dude. And it's included in the new government documents that came out. Yeah, now everybody's seeing them. And those are that those are satyrs. Those are the serim. You know, to get back to it, the idolatry worship, look at, I think it's Leviticus 17, 7, where they instruct the priestesses to stop leaving offerings for them, you know, stop making altars to them. Think about what a gifting place is, the people who go out and give apples and stones and stuff like that. Tell me how that's not an altar.
1:08:59 Yeah, that's a wild one, yeah. Wow, dude. That makes you think, for sure. And people who go out and look for them, you know what happens? They find them. To varying degrees, of course. They usually end up following them, too. Right. And then you hear things where they follow them back home. I'm sorry, you know, people go out in Africa and they follow the great apes around. The great apes don't follow them back home, now do they? Exactly. So it's not some cryptid, it's not a gigantopithecus out there creeping in your room in the middle of the night, touching you or something like that. That's ridiculous. That's a spiritual being. That's a named spiritual being. You know, a created being. that they derive their power from your fear, from your obsession with them. That's food to them. Wow.
1:10:02 Corey, this is, and I have the book that you referred to. Um, it's been, uh, I need to be honest. I need to read it. And I will definitely read it after this. I have that Michael Heiser book. Um, It just opens the door up. Yeah. You know, the reason I resisted Christianity in the beginning is because, you know, church hurt, right? Bad churches, bad pastures and completely turned my back on it. And I got into paganism, long story short, you know, because I, you know, because I could see them, these things since I was kids, you know, to a varying degree, you know. And so I always knew that there's something up with this reality.
1:10:47 I knew there's something up. And so I went to that looking for answers. And I never thought that Christianity or the Old New Testament had any kind of answer for me until I came across Michael Heiser. You know, because I, you know, how I became saved. I would try to chase demons away. Right. And I relied on my own power. And I had my son. I had a bunch of things happen. He has the ability to. And a demon came to him and told him all these things. And that's when I realized that I was completely powerless. And I went to the church. And then I came across Michael Heiser. I got into this on-scene realm stuff. And the lowercase g gods, they're out there.
1:11:35 Incredibly powerful. And not all of them. Some of them hate us. Does that sound familiar? Yeah. But they're not allowed, you know, look at the book of Job. And, you know, God never explained to Job at the end of the book of Job why he did what he did to him. He just basically told him he didn't know him. Because remember, he turned Satan loose on Job's life. To get him to take him. Yeah, see what happens. And he did. You know, it was part of the book, just him arguing with three terrible friends. The worst friends ever, right. Right. You had to have done something wrong. He's like, no, no, I really didn't. I really didn't do anything wrong, but all this bad stuff happens to me. But at the end, but God never explained, he explained everything else to him, but he did not tell him that he was basically betting Satan. Or excuse me, the Satan, which, you know, as Michael Heiser says that, you know, maybe Satan is more of a job description than an actual person or an actual being. Maybe. Who knows?
1:12:45 I think if you're going to be into this arena at all, it is heavily spiritual and you need to have your mind made up about what you put your trust and your faith in because you're putting in something. And if it's not in Jesus... Christ, you're in trouble. You have no idea how much trouble you're in. You're going to lose. You're going to lose. You're definitely not going to win and you're not going to find what you're seeking. Seek in Jesus, ask Jesus, and your answers will come to you. And when they come to you, you need to be at peace with it and the whole phenomenon. Amen. Amen.
