Massive 7-Foot Bigfoot Straddles a Barbed-Wire Fence in North Georgia

0:00 I start seeing this again. That was a bear. This paw come up. Okay, what? And it's eating us. I think, what? That's not a hand. This is Bigfoot Society. Today's witness is Mike. And about 10 years ago, he was staying alone at a small cabin near Ella Jay in the mountains of North Georgia. His stepfather had been having trouble with what he thought was a bear getting into a deer feeder. But one morning, Mike finally saw it for himself. And for years, he told nobody. So here's Mike. So I'll just start. My mother and her husband, I called them chief. They moved from Florida up to Ellijay, Georgia.

0:47 And they moved to a, I call it a gated community. It's called Kusawati. And it encompasses, it's gated, three gates together. And it encompasses two mountains, I believe. Anyway, so, okay, I'd go up there. I'd visit. Well, my stepfather, I had always called him chief. So he was so happy about buying this little cabin. It was about an hour away. And what's funny about this, they had a very nice, like, uh i call it three stories had a split level you know very nice huge log cabin model kind of thing like okay yeah this is pretty rural to me but you know um so he he told me um he said hey i'm having problem with the bear up here and he uh he well let me back up he was so proud He said he bought this for a song and a dance. OK, cool. Great. So he said, hey, I'm having problems with this bear, you know, up there.

2:07 So what he's doing, he's he's he's stealing food out of the out of the feeder. They had a feeder. He didn't hunt, but they liked feeding the deer. So I said, OK. And he made a statement that went right over my head. He's a slick bear. He puts the lid back on it. And it just went right over my head. OK, no problem. I said, OK, I'll come up. I have to write a position paper for my job. I said, you know what? This would be a good opportunity. You know, I can just have some time. This was almost 11 years ago. So I go up.

2:48 He drops me off. Uh, it was about an hour away. I can probably find where it's at. If I really look, um, not exactly sure the location, but you know, give me some time. I could probably look. So we go up, he drops me off. I spend the night. I bought, I brought a pound of Tannerite. Have you ever heard of Tannerite? Absolutely. Yes. Yeah. It's a binary explosion. Very stable. It's federally regulated. They use it as marking targets. I was just going to scare the bear. No intention of shooting the bear.

3:28 That wasn't my intention. I was just going to scare it. So I went there, spent the night. Got up. Done my little morning ablutions. Made some tea. And what I did is I put a– they had this big bay window. And it was, you know, the big, huge– and if you unlock it, you pull it to you. Or wait. Anyway. So, okay. I brought my AR-15, had a chair there. I was just going to– hey, if I happen to see it and I unlock the window– There was binoculars right next to the window. OK, so this cabin, you come up and it's a flat piece of land. Oh, I'm going to say about an acre. You had this this cabin, one bedroom cabin with a little kitchen area. So, OK, if I ever see it. I was going to shoot that Tannerite. So let me give you some numbers. The cabin had a raised porch. It was off slab, above grade.

4:55 You know what I mean? By, I believe, two feet. Okay. So, and I'll give you numbers. They had, it was, it was, let me get this straight. 30, 40, okay. It was 50 yards to the, to the Fitz line. They had, uh, the wooden, wooden poles, you know, and, and, and barbed wire, three strands, you know, your typical, and that was, uh, four feet. The, he added, they added deer feeder. So it was 30 yards to the, to the, uh, deer feeder.

5:36 And it was 50 to the, uh, To the fence line. So, okay, I placed that Tannerite right at the fence line on the ground, about a foot before it, and see the bear. I'm going to shoot it. I'm going to scare the bear. Have a good day. I come in there, and it was, I want to say, it was 9-something. I think it was like 9.15. I walk in there from the kitchen. I see this bear, okay? It is... It is just to the right of that feeder. And I'm seeing, you know, movement.

6:19 Now I'm looking at this bear straight on, okay, what I'm thinking is a bear. I sit down. I have binoculars on the ledge to my right and my AR-15 to the right so I can reach it. I'm looking at this bear and now this right here is going to go real quick. This next, I'm looking at it and I remember thinking, my God, that's a big bear. Don't they just have black bears here? Okay, man, they're growing big up here. Okay. And I'm looking at this and I thought the bear I was looking at straight on. So, and I start seeing this again, I thought it was a bear. This paw come up. Okay, what? And it's eating. I think, what?

7:15 That's not a hand. At this point, the quote-unquote bear kind of sits up just a little, and I see a face. And so here's my train of thought. This is what happened. I see a face. I'm thinking, wait, is this, is this a hunter? And my first inclination was it being a hunter. Okay. Because the hairline was farther down on the forehead. And I just immediately, and I started getting mad just for a split second. Like who, what, who, who's up here hunting? So then I go into, um, documentation mode is what I call it. Cause I'm not going to confront this guy, but I'm going to call the authorities and I need to give a description. I understand this is going very fast. I'm explaining that slowly, but you know, so I, I, I, I'm looking at the brow. I'm thinking, and the reason why I thought it was a hunter is because I thought he was wearing a ghillie suit. You know, that, that, does that make sense? Yes, absolutely.

8:31 Absolutely. Okay, that's what sent me down that road. So I look at the brow, the forehead. Then I noticed the brow. Brow was a little weird. Nose, I'm just starting to talk now. Nose was flatter, wider. It was not, let me make this clear, it was not like a gorilla. Like it was punched in. But it was wide and flat. And the lips... We're just like non-expression. And I'm just all this time. And this is happening within seconds. Understand this. This train of thought. I'm just getting more confused, more confused.

9:17 And I am at that moment. I'm just I tell you, I'm confused. The best way I can describe it is, in my mind, it's like I'm going through a filing cabinet. I'm like, is this? No. Is this? No. Is this? No. And it was weird. I hope you can understand this. Then at that point, I was like, is this a man? Or is it what? Is this a, you know, you ever look at somebody and go. Is that person young and looks old? Or is he old and looks young? You ever you ever done that? I understand. And the moment I, you know, it, it lifts his head up to getting to that point. I mean, we're talking 30, 45 seconds, you know, I mean, it was pretty quick, I guess. And then, and I'm just, I'm almost, I'm just almost like translating, like, I'm just totally confused. And it stood up. And let me tell you, it was like somebody poured a cold bucket of water right in my face. You know, it's just like, what? The mass and the mass of this thing was just breathtaking. Height-wise,

10:48 that corn feeder, automatic feeder, the top of it was, I believe, six foot. Okay? So I'm giving you reference numbers here. Six foot. There was some corn on the ground. So it stands up. It's probably, I'd say... a head length above that, if not more. I, and now, you know, witnesses and all, they tend to focus on something. I just was the mass of this thing. You know, it's, it never looked up at me. I quite frankly, I don't think it ever, it didn't know I was there.

11:36 I mean, that's just the impression I got, but it stood up and it kind of looked around. and, uh, turned around, walked to that, uh, Barbara fence and just straddled it and headed on. Um, and, and I, I can't tell you about, um, feet. I did notice, um, one thing I guess I did notice is it's right there, uh, where your, your, your top of your underneath your armpit and all it was a little the hair was sparser like it you know like it just rubs you know your arm does that make sense.

I can't tell you about the feet I I'm sorry I can't tell you about proportions first I I was just the mass of this thing I was I was just I was impressed um and uh Yeah, I, man, so that happened. I, for the rest of the day, Chief was going to go up there and he was going to pick me up that afternoon. And I just sat there. I didn't work. I just, my mind was just circular. It's just like, was it this? I mean, I went from, are you seeing things? Was it a guy?

13:12 It just kept circling, you know. Chief got got up there. I didn't say a word to him. I just was I compartmentalize this. Because I just had to. I just. I'm not even believing myself at this point, to be honest with you. So. We can stop right here and you can ask me this or I can continue on the second part of this story. Yeah, I would absolutely love to to to ask some questions. Remind me again, just so I make sure it's documented. Can you. The most detail about the year, time of year, all that.

14:00 It was September. What is, uh, 10 years ago? What is this? 26. So it would be 2006. Okay. Or, uh, it'd be two 2016. Sounds about right. Okay. Perfect. Thank you. Did it have any, uh, clothes on it at all that you could see? No, sir. Okay. It did. No. Um, it was hair, not fur. It was thick hair though. The, uh, the head. And I, I, I can't tell you if it was, uh, what do you say? Conical. I can't tell you that it was had a full head of hair. Um, and, uh, but like I said, it came down further down than, than the average person. That's why I thought it was a hunter in a ghillie suit at first. Okay.

14:57 When you said it was a head length above, uh, Would you, would it be possible, like for, let's say if people aren't aware of what that phrase would mean, what would you estimate the height of it to be? I just would have to six foot plus maybe a foot and a half. Okay. So like seven and a half to eight. Yeah. Sounds like, okay. Okay. Yeah. Something. Yeah. Okay. What was the color of the hair that you could see? Not quite cinnamon. It was a little darker. It was kind of a dark brown. Okay. Yeah.

15:39 You mentioned you were able to definitely see parts of the face. Were there any emotions at all that could be seen besides how the nose looked, stuff like that? Emotions from that creature? Yeah. Yeah. No. No. It was just very straight-faced. Yeah. No, nothing. Nothing. No emotion. Okay. That's all I can remember. Was there anything that made you think what you were looking at was either a male or a female? No. Again, I didn't look for genitalia. I wasn't focused on that when that thing stood up. I, to the best of my ability, I did not see breath. So take that for whatever it's worth.

16:32 Absolutely. You've mentioned like the size of it. It was, it was pretty massive a few times. Did the size of it remind you of any sports figure that you've seen on TV or any, let's say like action movie person, anything like that? I, I, I. Couldn't see definition, you know, not necessarily like a bodybuilder. But it was, I mean, the hair was fairly thick enough to where I didn't see tone that I can remember. I'm working off a 10-year-old memory here.

17:12 Did you tell Chief what happened when he picked you up? Brother, I told nobody. You told no one. Wow. No one. And that will eventually... Okay. I'll, I'll eventually get to the second part of the story is why, you know, yeah. I understand. No. Okay. I compartmentalize that. I was, I, it just, it was so shocking and just, I, man, a gamut of emotions. Absolutely. I'd be damned if I was going to tell anybody. And I want to make, I want to make this clear too. Um, I, it's, Okay, it's one thing that this happened, but the cherry on top of that cake is where it happened. You know, I don't know. As a typical 10-year-old, you know, I read about Bigfoot, but I also read about UFOs and ghosts and Loch Ness.

18:13 You know what I mean? Typical 10-year-old, you know. But I just, you know, I don't. went into adulthood. I, I, I, just my opinion of this subject was kind of cool that, you know, that does exist. But if they do, that's up there in Pacific Northwest. Right. I, I, that, I, this might sound trivial, but that is just as shocking to me that it was there. Sure. I just had no clue. I asked a psychologist once, and this was just more in the, at a lunch hanging hour and I just said hey how can you tell if you have if you're paranoid schizophrenic or schizophrenic he said he said if you're wondering if you're schizophrenic you're not a.

19:03 Schizophrenic right exactly and I. Said oh okay. Gotcha wow that's wild in the days after you had this experience did you notice anything out of the ordinary in in dreams or stuff happening around where your home was anything out of the ordinary like that? No, no, I, I just, uh, I've lived careers. I've lived an entire career where you have to compartmentalize stuff. So at that point I was pretty good about compartmentalize. Now I would probably say that the next couple of days, of course, you know, that, that, that was, it, It would surface a little bit and I would just just talk, man, just complete cognitive distance. I just I don't want nothing.

19:58 OK. Wow. Fascinating. Let's let's move on to to the the second part. I know that it is. It's a little hard for you. It's hard for you to talk. And I want to make sure that you're able to share what you need to. Yeah. OK, so fast forward to the year and a half ago, I I went to Florida. I've been all over Florida with the exception of southwest Florida and as far as Everglades. I had never been to Everglades. So I decided to take a long weekend and I wanted to go all around Florida and visit friends. But I took a couple of days to go to the Everglades.

20:48 And man, I'll tell you this about Everglades. I already had my brain wrapped around how vast it was. The Everglades is breathtakingly huge. So I go to this campground, and this campground is, man, it's 7, 8, 10 miles from Everglades City, kind of out on Alligator Alley. I pull in there, okay? And there's a Bigfoot statue in front of this, and it says Skunk Ape Museum. And I was like, what? And I had to pull my phone out and check the reservation. the campground is behind this place. So, okay. Good, good campground. Go visit them.

21:38 Great people. You know, Sheely something. Dave Sheely's place. Absolutely. It's a great place. Okay. Okay. Um, listen, anybody go visit them. Wonderful people. Great people. Um, bring bug spray. So anyway, I, okay. Okay. All right. So I'm like, what? And there's a big, I'm sitting in the parking lot. I get out. And I'm thinking, what? There's Bigfoot down here? And I'll tell you something. A guy comes out, okay? And he's in this, it's not a tank top, but the sleeves are cut off.

22:20 You know, women's shirts or whatever. And he has this big Bigfoot, big black tattoo. I mean, this thing's like all over his shoulder and his arm. I started asking about these. Yeah. I said, have you ever seen one? He said, oh, yeah. Yeah, I've seen plenty of them all up the eastern coast. I'm like, okay. I go in, check in, you know. So in Everglades City, I get up one morning. I get up early. I snap open pretty early. I go to Everglades City because I just wanted some breakfast. In the center of their town, the roundabout, they have another Bigfoot statue right there. I'm like, now this is shocking. Florida? Florida? Okay. So I'm just, I said that to say this, it really, for about 12 months, it really, it started surfacing, that event. I had packed it away pretty good. But, Doing that, seeing that down there, it just started bringing a surface. So that's when I reached out to the other gentleman. And it was nice to talk to him, get off my chest. But I

23:51 listened to a few of your episodes and a couple other of these. And I said, you know, let me just let me let me tell a story. That is, that is fascinating. How was it, how, so it was just coming to your, back to your mind for 12 months or was it where things happening? It started surfacing. Yes. It just, it just nothing happened. And I will say this, um, I had always enjoyed hunting. I'm more of a bird hunter, but you know, I've hunted deer. I just really never went back in the woods after that encounter, but I don't, I don't, It wasn't really consciously, I'm never going back in the woods again.

24:33 I guess it just worked out with work and everything. I just never went hunting again. I don't know. It wasn't a conscious thing, maybe subconscious. I don't know. I just want to put that out there. I don't know. But after doing that, it just kept surfacing. And it became... It didn't occupy my thoughts 24-7. It just would every now and then. And it started to become an itch that I had to scratch. I just wanted to tell somebody.

25:14 That is really... First off, thank you for sharing that. If you start to look into northern Georgia, it is just an absolute hotbed of people experiencing things. similar to this. And I don't know, is that something where you started looking up the area and finding other accounts? No, I, I honestly haven't done a lot of looking into it, to be honest with you. I, again, I just, Georgia? I, I, I, what? Um, and I'll say this, that Kusawati, um, reservation whatever uh resort they have rapids run through it and all that and people can come in there and rent uh a day whatever and he said they didn't see him up there and that was um that was a little shocking because i mean all i know is my mother my mother and stepdad's place and it was i mean they're they're worth a few hundred yards of each other on these mountains you know.

26:21 Oh, so you're saying Beccara from the museum, David Beccara, said he's also gotten reports from there? Wow, really? Correct. And he told me that. He said, I've had reports in there. And, okay, all right. I'll take your word for that one. But there's plenty of woods, forests up there. I don't know. They come in at night to raid some garbage cans. Okay. Yeah. There's beer all over the place. I mean, all over Kusawati Resort. Yeah. So there you go. Yeah. Yeah. But your mother and chief have never had a sighting on the property, it sounds like.

27:04 No. Okay. No. I guarantee you. I guarantee you, knowing them, that, oh, if that happened, I'd get the call first. Because I guarantee you, I guarantee you I'd do something about this. Yeah. Nothing I could do about it, you know, but yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I want to make sure that you were able to share everything that you had been wanting to share regarding the encounter that you had in northern Georgia. Yeah, I believe so. I, they, they, uh, his health, uh, went down pretty quick after that. So they really, I don't think spent a whole lot of time after that. If, uh, my memory is correct. Gotcha.

Um, I don't know how much you know about my experience. I'm going through cancer right now. I'm about halfway through. I've only heard a few. Oh, man. Okay. Tema? Yeah, so I'm going through that, but I gotta give Mike a call. More importantly than any of this, how is your relationship with Jesus Christ? Yeah, it's pretty solid. Okay. Made by peace. It's solid. 28:39 OK. Yeah. Yeah. I just. This thing was it was so shocking. And again, I know repeating like a record. This happened in Georgia. This was every bit of shocking as you know. the experience itself because I, Georgia, I just figured, okay, yeah, cool. That'd be cool. Yeah. They probably exist in Pacific Northwest. 29:28 And I put a map together where everyone I've talked to pretty much is on the Google map. more or less. It's over 1,000. So what that means is that just look up Georgia on that map, and you look up, man, northern Georgia, northwest Georgia, even west of Atlanta, and it's going to blow your mind how many different sightings are on, like, you'll look at Georgia completely different. It's crazy. So let me say this, and I'll give you an example. Mm-hmm. Most people, they cannot wrap their mind around how big our forest is, even Americans, much less, you know, other people.

30:11 And people even, you know, I understand, you know, Rob, we respect the hunters. They say, oh, I've been in the woods all my life. Okay. But let's break that part down. You go to a hunting stand at a certain location. It's a routine, you know, with all due respect for woodsmen. So, man, I just lost my train of thought. Oh, if you don't think that you could be undetected, there's a story out of, I believe, Maine, Vermont. I think it's Maine. There was a guy that went into the woods for like 20 years. He would come into town and steal from these cabins, but all he would take is necessity.

31:00 Yes, Maine. Maine, okay. You know, that guy right there, they looked for him for 20 years, I believe. He come out of that when they finally caught him not even speaking well after not talking to another person yet. And I believe like one or two people happened to just run across him, didn't know who he was. But other than that, 20 years, man. But I said that to say this, you know, absolutely. It's possible. You know, these things don't want to be found. They're not going to be found.

31:40 Absolutely, man. It's just, it, it blows my mind every time, you know, I realize how, you know, we talked about the Pacific Northwest and, and, If listeners get out there and you fly over it and you realize, man, there's like acres and acres of stuff that probably humans have never even been in. And it's just like, yeah, of course, something could hide out there. It's crazy. Agreed. Crazy stuff, man. With all due respect to people who live in the city, you know, they tend to dismiss this. They just don't know. Oh, yeah. And as the city's... they're actually, they're experiencing this out in Georgia too, based on some conversations I've had as Atlanta grows further East and more and more bigger things get put in, they're starting to experience a lot more, um, uh, Bigfoot activity in those towns that are springing up, um, on the outskirts of Atlanta. It's wild stuff, but it, you know, as we go further into nature, there's going to be, there's going to be some stuff to happen.

32:50 So it's, Yeah. It's wild stuff. I'll take your word for it. I don't have my finger on the pulse of this space, you know? Oh, yeah. But, yeah. Yeah. I tell you, on the news the other day, I can't remember where it was. It might have been up near you. There was a lion and a cub on the loose. Oh, yeah. It's Indiana, allegedly. Okay. Yeah. I... I'd love to hear that 911 call. You know what I mean? Oh, I know. Because of him trying to convince the dispatcher he wasn't drunk or high.

33:32 So I said that to say this. I'm going to tell you. I wish I saw a lion in a cub. I mean, that would have been 100 times better and believable than what I saw, if that even makes sense to you. Exactly. And it's a great example of how something can remain hidden and hard to find. They're actually experiencing a similar thing on far western Alaska. And what's happening is these hunters are, they're saying, we're seeing tiger tracks over here. And They're so elusive because if you look at the map, Russia is so close to Alaska in parts is that what they think is happening is the tigers are coming from Russia to Alaska. And then these hunters are like, I'm telling you, I'm seeing something out here and they're kind of getting laughed at. But I mean, it's just really creatures, even big creatures can hide out there. It's another good example of what you were talking about.

34:35 Yeah. Yeah. I just call it like I see it. You know, I'm a, I've been a very level headed, sober, um, pragmatic individual, um, regards to paranormal stuff. Look, that's never been my cup of tea. I've never followed that, but I've said this in the past. I, I, I come short of dismissing that. I, you know, there's things that we don't know about. Okay. And I just try not to poopoo all over, you know, other people's whatever. And now more than ever, I get it. I get it for sure. It's, uh, the more you look into it, uh, the more things you notice and, and, uh, yeah, it's, it can get pretty wild, but, uh, Mike, I want to say thank you for reaching out to me, uh, earlier this morning. And, um, I, I appreciate you, uh, trusting me with, uh, with what you experienced, uh, that, that means a lot that you were able to, to come forward and to, uh, trust, uh, this podcast to document it. And, uh, I, I don't take that for granted.
