A wildfire is burning deep inside Yosemite National Park's backcountry. The Dome Fire was first reported September 15 near Chilnualna Falls. The latest official National Park Service update puts it at 1,177 acres and 10% containment. Trails and surrounding wilderness have been closed while hundreds of personnel work the fire in steep, rugged terrain. There are currently no evacuation orders or immediate threats to developed areas, and Yosemite National Park remains open. The cause of the Dome Fire remains under investigation.
