A head was peeking from behind a tree—and two men could see it.
Walking a rain-soaked trail at Oklahoma’s Heyburn Lake, schoolteacher and investigator Brian Terrell noticed something watching them. He quietly instructed his companion to look past his shoulder while pretending they were talking.
His friend saw it, too.
The next day, they returned with a laser rangefinder and a six-foot friend to recreate the sighting. The distance measured 120 yards. The comparison led Brian to estimate that the figure stood ten feet tall.
